Mamma Mia, is tucked in a small cluster of buildings just on the perimeter of the Oxford Valley Mall. Less formal but every bit as good as her big brother restaurant Carlucci's. We came for a Friday lunch and the place was filling up by the time we left. Opting for two sandwiches, we weren't disappointed. Fresh ingredients cooked just right. Came in on a Saturday night shortly after arriving in the area. We were seated right away which was great. Our server was pleasant & attentive. The bread we started with was yummy & warm. We skipped apps to go straight to our main meal, which ended up being a good choice since we couldn't finish either dish! (In a good way) The pesto gnocchi was melt-in-your perfection & the pesto (while it separated a little bit, was still delicious). The fettuccine alfredo was also very good & fresh tasting. The kids meal had the best kind of fries but we were a little disappointed there wasn't an option for apple juice as a drink. Today I had my 50th birthday party at Mama Mía. I could not be happier with the food, level service and attentiveness from the whole restaurant. Lots of free parking. Very clean with an Italian restaurant vibe you'd expect. I opted for along table set up with a separate cake, gift, and wine bar table. Custom menus were provided and the space was perfect. The price was fair and all of my guests were very happy with the food choices including shared appetizers, breads, and entrees. Wine glasses were provided and the staff was on top of opening bottles and providing refills as needed. We were able to bring our own cake which was served with ice cream and coffee. The staff helped with group photos too which was much appreciated! Definitely some place to consider for your next celebration. We took my son here for his birthday. He ordered chicken parmigiana. When his dish arrived he took one bite. He said something was wrong. I took a nibble as did my husband. We concurred it was Veal parmigiana, not Chicken Parmigiana. We called our server over to exchange his entree. To our dismay our server had the audacity to grab my sons plate along with my sons knife and fork. He cut a piece of the Veal off, splashing sauce on the cuff of my husbands shirt ! He declared it chicken, and disappeared. We paid our check. We will never return. Never have I heard of a server tasting your food with your utensils ! Just ugh. read more

Have had soooo many good dishes from Mamma Mia Trattoria's. To name a few main dishes, the Stuffed Rigatoni, Vodka Rigatoni, and Chicken Parmigiana are to die for! Whether you are having a nice family dinner or utilizing their amazing catering for a gathering, everything will taste great. Their staff and service is excellent as well. They are respectful, accommodating and really work with you to provide you with what you need. There's nothing more you can ask for. I also very much appreciated the numerous gluten-free offerings, including their pasta fagioli soup. Our Mediterranean antipasto was a great shareable starter. Absolute worst Italian food I've ever had! Fettuccine Alfredo w shrimp tasted more like frozen pasta with watery garlic onion cream-ish sauce. And the shrimp were "gummy". Just yuck. The chicken parm, while obviously frozen, was edible the amount of salt in there marinara sauce was insane. Again frozen pasta. Even the garlic bread and salads sucked. I'm sorry but I just don't have one good thing to say about this dining experience. Update. Spoke with the owner he offered to make us another meal so can give them another shot. As a fellow food service worker I know we all have our bad nights so I'm willing to give it a shot. At least owner cares enough about his business to call back upset customers. Props to him. One word about this place "scrumptious" Came here with a group of ladies who are blind and visually impaired from my field agency I am interning with. The staff was very helpful and patient as we went through the menu and even helped read the menu and ingredients to some of our clients! The waitress was fast and waited on our party constantly. The owner/ manager of the store constantly came by to check on us to make sure we were doing okay and we had refills and bread and pretty much everything we needed. They had a huge menu so when looking at it- I had no clue to what to order. But one of the ladies had mentioned she had come here before and they have lunch specials for a good price and I was interested. So I ordered the manicotti special, it included a drink, salad, bread, entree and a small dessert. I honestly was stuffed by the end of my meal and very satisfied. The whole meal was fresh and I believe the manicotti was made from scratch- I seriously ate it within seconds- and had finished before everyone because I liked it so much! Then the dessert came which by then I was stuffed and didn't think I had room for more. It was this mini cannoli and it was so creamy and delicious- my first time having a cannoli ever and it was a great experience. They also serve a bread basket for each table with a variety of pieces of bread layered just enough tomato sauce. Mamma Mia Trattori is a hidden gem and is the sister restaurant of Carlucci's. The place is BYOB and has outdoor seating as you can see from my pictures. The inside is great for large parties. They always have coupons (through the mailer) even for weekends. Today was my first time here and I had such a positive experience. Upon entering the restaurant, I was greeted by both the hostess and a man who appeared to be the owner. Once seated, fresh, warm bread with homemade marinara sauce was brought out to our table immediately. Service was very quick and attentive. I ordered penne with marinara sauce for lunch and I have to say it was the best marinara sauce I've ever tasted. Mind you- I'm a pasta connoisseur. I've had the marinara sauce just about everywhere. This sauce was delicious. It was fresh marinara with little tomatoes cut up in it, fresh chunks of garlic, and fresh basil leaves amongst other tastes. Needless to say I devoured my meal. The food at this place was average. We had high expectations from this place as it was linked to Carlucci's in Yardley. Food: what was disappointing here was the food. The soup came out cold which had to be sent back for reheating. Now maybe on a busy day, that can happen. However, we were there for brunch on New Year's Day. The entree, stuffed Rigatoni, was also reheated and served. The Rigatoni was chewy from the microwaving. The portion size was adequate so that you are satisfied, but you will not be full like other restaurants. We did order from the early bird menu, which is great for the price. Lunch date with HUSBAND earlier this week. For the price point at lunch (under $10 for sandwiches, paninis, etc, under $10 for pasta special lunches, under $12 for other lunch specials), this member of the Carlucci's dynasty of local restaurants is a winner. The local newspapers and coupon mailers often include coupons good for the a la carte menu, as well. Pizza, and individual slices, are also available here. We were out for a bit of a splurge. Husband ordered veal parmesan from the special lunch menu - which included soup or salad, beverage, and mini-cannoli for dessert. I went for the veal saltimbocca (veal cutlets, prosciutto, spinach, and cheese with garlic sauce) over pasta from the entree menu. Soup or salad accompanied the entree. A bread basket that included small squares of tomato pie was a nice touch. I asked for my pasta al dente. They nailed it. What I found especially appealing was the portion size. Just right. Two modest cutlets. Perfect. I had enough room for dessert. Husband sacrificed his mini cannoli to me and he ordered a creme brulee from the a la carte dessert menu. For service, appearance of food, portion size, value - five star worthy. Why four stars instead of five, then? Taste: I suspect that Mama Mia caters to a market that appreciates less highly seasoned food. The location is on the ring road around the Oxford Valley Mall and one of the prime choices for Sesame Place visitors in search of Italian fare. The seasoning was a bit understated for my palate (a little more wine and some parsley would have kicked it up a notch) - but I should add that my husband, whose preferences are more mainstream than mine, really LOVED his veal parmesan. read more
