I was buying at the farmers market and the weather was not cooperating so I decided to come here and try this place I saw on Andrew Zimmern's show. I came alone on a rainy Saturday afternoon and was seated in the corner of an empty part of the restaurant where I was completely ignored even after flagging down servers. I was considering walking out but I was starving. 15 minutes later I got an order of the pasta with crab. While I waited I was served marinated raw carrot ribbons and fresh bread and that was absolutely delicious. It didn't take long for the pasta to come and that was also very good although it would've been nice if the crab was somewhat chunked and not all shredded.. I'm glad the trip was not a complete waste however the service was horrible and for that reason alone I will not return.

We had a get together here following a funeral and Vecchia Osteria was the perfect place for it. The owner had the side room near the outdoor patio set up beautifully to accommodate our large group. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming and the service was consistently attentive. Staff came out frequently to refill drinks, bring new courses, and check on us throughout the meal. We started with fresh Caesar salads, warm bread, and bottles of wine. The oil and seasonings on the table made for a perfect dipping mix. From there, the food just kept coming. Eggplant rollatini was served in delicate spirals, the crab-stuffed pasta was rich and flavorful, and the rotini in vodka sauce was absolutely amazing. I couldn't get enough of it and ended up forgetting to grab a picture. We finished with coffee and a unique almond tiramisu that had a really nice nutty flavor. Every part of the meal was fresh, delicious, and made with care. Vecchia Osteria made a hard day feel comforting. Thank you to the staff and owner for a truly wonderful meal and experience.

Vecchia Osteria is what looks to be the neighborhood BYOB. Their paper reservation book is large and full, and staff hugs show that there are many regulars. This is not a fancy place, but offers large portions and an extensive menu. The sautéed garlic carrots starter they bring is a nice touch (and delicious). We ordered the grilled calamari which were large pieces over dressed arugula. The arugula was dressed minimally and the calamari was over cooked and chewy. For mains, we got the pappardelle bolognese (homemade pasta with an average sauce), chicken francese, and veal funghi (3-sizable pieces covered in mushrooms and sun-dried tomatoes). All dishes were good-- not great, not bad. We ended the meal with the limoncello cake. It was good, despite it not being recommended by the waiter (that was an awkward exchange). It was a decent meal at a BYOB, but nothing to write home about.

Haven't been here in awhile and was glad to see it was still packed on a Saturday night but still didn't have to wait long for our table. The room we were in, for the most part, had tables for big parties - 8 to 10 people at each and they were full. The wait for our dinner was also very reasonable. The Fried Calamari was a little disappointing this time around - although good it was on the dry-side. The Spaghetti Carbonara was as good as I had remembered it and was again my favorite of all the entrees. The Squid Ink Ravioli with Shrimp was a very very good evening special. The Spaghetti and Meatball entree was good. The menu is large but not overwhelming and we look forward to coming back again soon to try something besides pasta. BYO makes it a nice choice too.

Chicken parm. Two large cutlets but only cheese on the top one

For my drink, I got a hugo spritz which is my go to at an Italian place and it was great. They give you a bread basket with oil which always gains points for me. For an appetizer, we shared fried mozzarella which was very good - crispy, cheesy, saucy. For my main I got the Penne Vodka. No notes - it was great and I would definitely get it again but nothing super special! And of course for dessert, I got pistachio gelato which was creamy and delicious!

We were seated at a round table for six near the front of the restaurant, which gave us a great vantage point to watch the bustling Friday night crowd while still making it easy to talk. The energy in the room added to the experience and set the tone for a fun evening. There were lots of cocktail options from both the regular menu and a Valentine's Day special list. The food menu offered many choices. We started by sharing lamb chops with the guys and I grabbed a taste of the burrata salad from the girl side of the table. The lamb was flavorful and cooked perfectly. The arugula burrata salad had a great blend of fresh flavors. For my entrée, I ordered the rigatoni carbonara: ample portion that afforded me leftovers. Others enjoyed the lobster linguini and tortellini bolognese. Great food, great atmosphere, and a lively crowd. We'll definitely consider coming back again.

SPECIAL THANK YOU HUGS TO Amali and Fami and our server Liz on this Friday night. You all made us feel like family, very special, send special appreciation for helping to make our night a most memorable one. We started night off by asking for the bartender to surprise me with my drink choice which laterd I was to learn that it was being called a Fruity Vodka Mystery Drink for billing yet it was delicious and not fruity. Love it when service industry folks have a a good sense of humor. BTW, my wife had the The Great Escape and loved it. For our opening dish we loved the PEI Mussels in a fra diavlo sauce and boy those cut up pieces of hot pepper were perfect complement to the heat of the dish. Loved it! Next we shared the spring mix salad with one swap (sub goat cheese) and they did. Thank you!! For our main we enjoyed the Amali Vitello with Fusilli... a perfect complement to our dish choices. To wrap up a fun and delicious evening we were shocked by a gift of the house from Amali and Fami with their new sensational table side Tiramisu Tri Flights. (oreo tiramisu, pecan tiramisu and regular tiramisu) with strawberry's. Holy cow what a lovely and most tasty way to finish up our wedding anniversary dinner. A perfect night spent with an awesome staff and two of the most lovelest restuaranteers. The kith staff continues to out due themselves especially the new seasonal menu. Hint, hint, try the butternut squast gnocchi. A receipe perfect by Sal. Special thanks to the staff and hugs and kisses for Amali, Famil and Liz.
