This may have been the most thrilling thing I've ever done! You get to the facility which is 35 minutes away from the strip, you are greeted and fitted for a helmet. You watch a short safety video on the course and cars then head out with your instructor. Our instructor Robbie was very friendly and helpful. You climb into the truck then the first lap is a learning lap with the instructors in a truck ahead of you telling you what to do in an ear piece. We took part in the 5 lap experience and it was exhilarating! Pure adrenaline! You can work your speed up each lap and by the 5th lap you feel great and are jumping feet in the air in a truck! I would suggest however purchasing the 10 laps because 5 felt a little short. The speed, the feel of a huge truck, the dirt, the staff, everything about this place was amazing! Brandi, the Hospitality Director stopped by to say hello and she was very passionate about VORE and so welcoming. This was definitely an experience I will always remember! read more

I was very very very excited about taking my friends to this off road experience. After saving up for months, and sleepless nights of excitement, the day had finally come and to the desert we were headed. Our experience began with our pick up that was running 20 minutes late, though she called a head and let us know which was very considerate. Upon arriving to the staging area, my concerns started to arise. The baja ready race trucks advertised were low end knock offs. 250hp V6 with 3 speed trannies. Ok, did I want one of the 1/2 million dollar trophy trucks pumping out 750hp at the rear wheels, sure! Was I a little disappointed to get into a watered down version. Yeah, but i understood. there is liability, reliability, maintenance, etc that goes into those monster trucks that wouldn't work as a viable business model. But its cool.. we're here, little over sold, but whatever, game on! The team that greeted us, most of them were with the company for less than a month, despite the company being in business for over 6 years. (red flag) While sitting in idle in the truck that none of my instrumentation gauges were working. The oil pressure gauge was covered up with black tape, though the red warning light still glowed from underneath. Not to be deterred, we waiting for the team to change a flat on another truck (super common, those guys had it swapped in under 5 min) and we were off. 4 to 5 miles into the adventure the first mechanical failure struck a truck in the head of our column. The throttle cable broke and a repair was made via duct tape and perseverance. (NOte: each truck is equipped with a GPS that gives you mileage down to the 100th of a mile for navigation) After 20 minutes we were off again and back on the trail. another 7 miles into the treck however my alternator light kept coming on and I repeatedly came to a halt as the truck stalled and refused to restart. I lost sight of the truck column, while i struggled to get my truck running again. After many start/stops, the truck came back to life, and after only a 20 min delay we were back on the ride. After limping into a stop point, although I paid to drive, I was now riding shotgun on the tour with my friend and we had to take turns driving because the group was now down 2 trucks. It wasn't long there after (another 6 miles) that another truck in our convoy over heated or broke down (vapor lock, a common desert element prevented by cheap heat insulation on fuel lines and cloths pins) brought the column to a halt. We waiting in the sweltering heat of the desert for 30 minutes until the truck was ready to start again, and we pulled a 180 and headed back to the break down area. That little 5 mile run was the best of the day, giving me a taste as to what that experience could have been. I did however almost roll over however when I went to press the brakes and found that...there wernt any! Getting a little rough drifting around a nice turn, we touched the berm and would it not have been for my previous off roading experience and luck, I'm not sure I would have kept the truck on all four wheels. Rule number 1 of any high octane vehicle.. GOOD BREAKS. At this point I had completely lost confidence in the integrity of these trucks, and felt unsafe driving them. Upon reaching the breakdown area, my truck did what it was supposed to do, and broke down itself. Before hearing the predictable that we'll have to wait 30 min for the engines to cool down, my friends an I opted to call the tour already running 2.5 hours over from breakdowns and head back to the hotel to eat. We heard a number of excuses on that this is racing and we should have expected mechanical failures. Though in my opinion, we paid a large sum of money for an experience with a company that had been doing this for over 6 years. My expectation was that the trucks would be safe, and in good working order. That we would complete the package as purchased and had many a fine story to tell. What we got was mechanical failures and a customer service run around that began with being provided the wrong contact information to lodge a complaint, our complaint being competently ignored, and subsequent efforts to discuss our issues, deleted from voice mail. Of the 5 truck that left the starting line, 2 were running when we called it quits. From what could have been a run of bad luck and chalked up to good faith, became shotty maintenance, and snake oil salesmen. I will not go back, and I will recommend you spend your bucks here. Go to one of the many other companies and rent quads or sand rails which are more reliable and better maintained. Went to VORE in Boulder City yesterday. We took our two daughters and a bunch of their college girlfriends for a 21st birthday afternoon of fun. Tyler and Michael were our hosts, two super nice, hospitable and experienced pro off-road drivers. The facilities and the vehicles are all first class and the classroom instruction and drive experience so fun and fast. We did several hot laps and jumped and landed some amazing jumps including a 40 foot tabletop. I plan to go back and might even order an arrive and drive for the Baja 1000. SO COOL!! This was one of the most fun experiences I've had in Las Vegas. And luckily, it is only about 15 minutes south of my house in Henderson. I can't wait to go back! VORE has their own drivers. I decided after my ride with a professional that I think I would prefer to have someone else drive. I drove a Lambo out at Exotics Racing at the Speedway, and I felt like a Granny! It's just not in my blood to try and go that fast. So, having the professional driver was a big plus. He didn't hold back and really put the pedal to the metal on the track. The trucks are $160,000 each and the dirt course is in great condition. The track is sponsored by Ford Racing. I will admit, it was tough to get in and out of the truck - you have to go Dukes of Hazard style! Then they help strap you in and get your helmet on. The helmet gets attached to oxygen, which I was told is supposed to enlighten your experience (?). I can not explain what a blast this was! We raced around the track at full speed, fish tailing and hitting the hills running - flying about 40 feet into the air. It was so exhilirating, but at no time scary. The adrenaline was really pumping by the end of my 5 laps. The guys who run VORE are also super friendly and professional and you can tell that they are very passionate about the company. The course is located on the property with the Pro Gun Club in Boulder City (on the mountain). If you follow the directions on their website, it is super easy to find. Apparently a lot of people get lost when following GPS and end up near the Lake. The only reason they are not getting 5 stars is because of the general cost of the experiences. They have packages ranging from $795-$1495 per person. And you have to pay $50 extra if you want a driver (normally the guest drives themselves). This is pretty pricey, IMO. read more

I must say this is one of the best out door activities I have ever done in my life! If you have a group of friends and have to have some action. This is the best spot in town. It is located in the Boulder City but the drive is not even that far. I came here after a late lunch with my boyfriend and it only took me about 35min. There is a restaurant at this place as well. I sat at the bar and started with water. I know i know but it is a meeting i can't really drink even though I would love to! I did two activities here, the first one is to shoot machine guns and a rifle. It was so fun! Even though my shooting is kinda bad lol 99% of the time I didn't see where my bullet went. but I surely enjoyed the experience. I can almost see myself playing call of duty but just in real life! The second activity is my favorite which is riding along in a Monster Car. They have their own filed and it is a big space. The car can jump up to 50feet in the air. It is scary , exciting but at the same time comfy! Yup I just said Comfy. Sitting in the passenger seat in the car I feel like I am sitting in the clouds. Even when it lands, you just feel like you fall onto a huge cushion. Apparently they also load the car full of explosives and people and shoot at it until it explodes! wow that's what I really wanna see in real life. After all, this is a great place for some outdoor activities. You can also bring your guns and use their range for $10 per day, You can't even bring your own bullets unlike other places which require you to purchase bullets from them only. We waited a couple of hours to be picked up on a Friday, consequently sat in traffic for quite a while. I asked if we should cancel for another time, and they did not want to do it. In the end that would have been the right call. When we arrived, they only had 2 trucks running and only 1 with lights. They obviously had their hands full with the Mint race that was going on at the same time. Bottom line is it took us 6 hours of waiting for a bus, riding in traffic, getting back, for a subpar experience. When you go to Vegas with friends and waste over 6 hours and burn over $2200 on the above experience you are pretty disappointed. While we were there the guy helping us said he would give us a partial refund, but later when I talked with their Race Director Dwight Kuhlman, he said he would give us 10 free laps. When I mentioned it to my friends that went with me they laughed out loud. We will not be back. If you do go, make sure they have enough cars and do not go late. What an easy to book and fun day for all ages. My husband and I are 50 and I booked him a trip to drive an off road rally car. We had 8 others in our group late 20's early 30's that did off road razors. From booking and confirming with a very friendly office staff they kept us informed and happy. Then our guide William Draven picked us up and took us on a mini tour seeing the Hoover damn and delighting us with facts trivia and funny stories throughout. My experience at #VORE was very disappointing. My two friends and I came out to #Vegas and booked three spots (2 drivers & me riding along) for this past Saturday, June 21, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. Shortly after we started the experience, a throttle cable broke on one of the trucks at the front of the group, which prompted the entire group to stop. After repairing with some duct tape, we started again. After a couple miles the red truck that my friend and I were driving in died out of the blue. We would start the truck and it would quickly die, over and over. Based upon the voltage meter and alternator light, there appeared to be an issue with the alternator. Finally we were able to get the truck started and drive for a bit to a checkpoint where we had to rearrange who would be in the various trucks still working. I was moved to ride in the lead truck with one of the pro drivers, who was great, and my friend was moved to the yellow truck with my other friend. We started up again. After about five miles, the blue truck had a malfunction with vapor lock in the fuel line. Again, we all stopped, while the engine cooled. After a considerable time, we started up again and were finally able to hit a nice patch of the course on our way to another checkpoint to assess the situation with the blue truck. After we arrived at the checkpoint, it was determined that the blue truck could not drive anymore so those two customers were done for the day. The rest of us were about to get started when the yellow truck my friends were in would not start. Considering there was no way to have me and my two friends finish the experience, we were driven back to the start where a shuttle took us back to the airport. In total, we drove less than 20 miles of the 60 mile experience. It was about 5:20 p.m. when we got back to the shuttle. The website says the 60 mile experience should take approximately 4 hours. You can imagine how much down time we had when our 20 miles took more than 4 hours. Overall it was an extremely disappointing experience. When inquiring about a refund, we were initially told that racing is unpredictable and there was no way to know it would be 105 degrees that day, which is beyond comical. However, more importantly is that there was no empathy for the negative experience we endured as customers. While I understand racing trucks may be unpredictable, that is a risk assumed by those who own a racing experience business. My friends and I paid a considerable amount of money for an experience, which was not provided, and the fact that the trucks did not work is not our fault and we should not be expected to subsidize their mechanical issues. Sadly we were not the only customers who had a poor experience that day, as the other 4 customers suffered through the same negative experience we did. When my friend spoke to the owner via telephone on the shuttle ride back to our hotel, he was told the owner would look into the situation and call us back. As of the time of this posting we have not received a phone call or email. My two friends spent $800 each to drive and I spent $400 to ride for 60 miles, and in the end we got less than a third of that. We were very excited for this experience, but in the end we left feeling extremely disappointed. I understand that sometimes things do not go as planned, but how those things are addressed speaks volumes about the business. As with others, I was very much looking forward to the off-road experience. I will be reviewing my June 21st 2014 experience from the following perspectives: Expectations: 60 miles of desert driving a Vore truck. The course: The Mint 400 is a storied desert course that is well known in the off-road community. Beautiful bluffs and lake bed complement the bush covered foothills. Great location. The Vore trucks: These are impressively engineered, purpose built race trucks. Unfortunately they do not seem to be well maintained. Examples from my own truck included very soft brakes, broken gauges and ultimately mechanical breakdown. I had to rapidly pump my brakes in an effort to build enough brake pressure to avoid one of the other participant's stalled trucks after his throttle cable broke. Driving the trucks: Unfortunately we had to wait through the resolution of 5 separate mechanical issues ranging from a tire, throttle cable, two fuel system issues and a failed alternator. We had to abandon one truck and split another driver's time behind the wheel (mine). After numerous hours of waiting and backtracking to the support vehicles, we only made it through about 20 miles of the 60 mile course before my truck finally gave up the ghost and refused to start. Management: When we asked about how Vore could make the experience better or resolve the situation, the on-site manager provided no suggestions other than "this is what real racing is like" and "we did not know it would get hot today" "The trucks don't work well in the heat". Hmm this is the desert. It gets warm. The Vore owner made no attempts to respond to a call about the failed day. As a former race car owner/road racer and motorsports instructor, I am familiar with the variables of mechanical failures but this is just an "experience" and I was not in a position to control the maintenance of the trucks. I paid $795 cash and ended up with less than 1/3 of the experience I paid for. At the end of the day, the Vore management team did not seem to even care. Tip for the future participant: Check your brakes and bring extra parts. Also negotiate a 65%+ discount upfront to cover what you won't get from the experience. read more

One of the best experiences I have had. We took our whole family out, my 16 YOA can't stop smiling. Hell, I can't stop smiling. The people there are absolutely fantastic!! This is a "must do" thing in Vegas. We did the split of desert riding and the track. Be prepared to scream the first time you go airborne. My 10 yoa hasn't stopped talking about it. I did a split of desert running and the short track jump circuit in a truck. Drove myself. Absolutely an incredible experience! You are basically given the keys to a race truck...and it's all up to you how it will go. You break it, you buy it...or even break yourself. The trucks are a class 1 race chassis with 5 point restraints, no glass. Open tube race chassis. They are 6cyl with about 235HP to them...which didn't sound like much at first, but trust me, it's plenty. They will launch at will over whoops and have plenty of punch to get you in plenty of trouble if you want to. They are 2WD which makes it more fun really. 24" of travel on the suspension too...incredible to experience. When you are out riding you have helmet radio contact with the leader and they will radio back mileage references on the in cab GPS as to turns, terrain conditions and hazards. Tons of fun. I would advise that this is a pretty intense experience and is not some slow Jeep crawl through a tourist trail, though I suppose you could make it that, though that would be no fun. Do not go into this lightly if you don't have at least some real background of riding offroad. You could easily hurt yourself, this isn't a bumper car or karting track, this is a race ready vehicle on terrain made of real rocks....yes funny, but make sure you get that through your head before you mash the gas down. Life is good doing 70mph until you get the truck out of shape....be sure you are in control and ride in your limits. I cannot recommend this highly enough for people with their wits about them looking for a rush in equipment you would likely never be able to afford or have access to otherwise. Truly a remarkable experience for those looking to push boundaries. The desert terrain is widely varied, with wide open flats you can carry as much speed as you dare, to rock garden crawling to near stop hazards and washes to whoops. Fantastic. The short track was a real blast as well. Launching into the gravity hole and over the table top jump was simply amazing. I'm very glad I opted to split the day between the open desert (my preference) and the track. The track was incredibly fun. Frankly it's a lot smoother ride jumping 40-50 feet on the track than the desert terrain. I did the Where Pros Are Born package and if I could have afforded it I would have signed up for multiple days too heh. I'd go back tomorrow if I had the cash and the time. read more

Just finished a two day outing with VORE. Wonderful!! Every year my son and son in law go on a "men's outing". This year we chose VORE. From the minute we were picked up by "KB" we were treated great. our outing directors Joey and Vinnie were knowledgable, and more than willing to allow us to "stretch our wings" as soon as we felt and displayed our competence. Had the absolute time of my life!! My wife got me this by surprise and I enjoyed every minute of it. The guys really took care of us. Definitely a 1st class run organization, and its evident as soon as you walk through the door. Robby the manager reached out to me the day before just confirm everything was cool and we were set to go. I had the package that allowed me to be driven by pro drivers as well as drive these trophy trucks myself. These guys are the real deal! They have competed and won in the Baja 500. I had planned this for my friends bachelor party so it was a group of 5 of us. We can't thank VORE enough for making our experience more than memorable. The staff was very knowledgable and explained everything in detail to us. We were picked up 10 minutes early from our hotel on the Vegas strip and drove out to VORE. We chose the package that started out with shooting machine guns at exploding targets. After that we had lunch provide to us. After lunch we got in our trucks and drove 30 miles through the desert, and ended the day with 10 laps on the race track. I will definitely be going back for another experience. Highly recommended if you're looking for a great off-road experience in purpose built race trucks. read more
