Absolutely the worse dental experience I have ever had in my life ! It took me 2 years to get over the excruciating pain and suffering from my visit on 2/22/2022 caused me! If I would have gotten out of the chair the second the Dentist hit a nerve, it would have saved me 5 months and 9 days of suffering all day and all night ! I went in because I had a filling that needed to be replaced . I had gotten a very high estimate from Sky Dental , which I should have taken . The Dentist worked on my mouth for 2 hours! After I had paid for the 4 filings , he insisted on me paying an additional $350 for a fifth filling . I went directly to work after my appointment and by Sunday I called explaining I was in uncontrollable pain . I was told to take 2 ibuprofen and 2 Tylenol every four hours , which did not help ! No one even checked to see if I was ok! By summer I was still having horrible pain and had to call and get a root canal costing $820 more after they charged me $1150 & $350! When a second dentist put the temp on , it slipped and every breath was unbearable pain ! I had two kids no pain meds , had cancer no pain meds , had my left leg rebuild and had less pain ! I have the highest tolerance to pain my doctors have ever seen , but this was unbearable. A third Dentist put the crown on because the other two were on vacation . It took from August till December for the pain to finally go away! The receptionist response was "He was trying to save you money"! We are human beings and yet we are treated like cattle and cash! Love this office! I have had some really horrible experiences with Dentists so finding one that I feel comfortable with is really important to me. The hygienist and dentist here are fantastic. I am confident in their competence and don't have to second guess their recommendations. They are both pretty conservative, so you will not be forced to complete procedures you do not need. This was my first office since moving to Las Vegas. Luckily it was super close to my home, otherwise I probably would not discover it. When I moved from the area AND had a conflicting schedule with the hygienist, I tried an office close to my house... It did NOT work out. This made me appreciate Dr. Gussow and his staff that much more. Now, I will do what ever needed to make sure I stay with this office. Dr. Gussow an his team are amazing. They always make you feel welcome an very at ease. They are all very gentle an listen to your concerns, which for me is very important as I have had bad experiences with dentists. They explain everything in detail so you know exactly what's going on. I am very claustrophobic, and had a very bad experience with another dentist. Since then, I have been avoiding going to the dentist for years. Finally a crown came loose, and I needed to have it fixed. I looked over many different reviews, and found Vegas Smiles, and I am so glad I did. The whole group are very caring individuals. There was no judgment, no lectures, only efforts to help me relax and fix the problem. They fixed the crown, and yesterday they fixed two cavities. They provided me with Valium, and nitrous oxide. I was totally relaxed. Also they numbed up my mouth so well, I didn't feel a thing through the procedure. The reviews I read that led me to them are correct. I HATE going to the dentist. I have to be sedated for most procedures. I'd had a terrible experience trying to get a root canal at another local dentist and so was very nervous about completing the procedure elsewhere, but I needed sedation and this place does that. The two dentists here (Acosta and Gussow - hope I spelled those correctly) were wonderful, friendly and patient. They clearly explained the procedure and what to expect, and didn't belittle my fear of being in pain. The waiting room is small but nice, and they serve you free cookies and coffee (ironic) and even give you a flower when you leave. The staff and assistants are great, and customer service is excellent. If you provide them with cell phone information, they'll send you a text message to your phone to remind you of an appointment. Although I don't want more dental work, I have more procedures to get done and they are the only people I'll let near me! read more

It's possible that this dentist office might be on the expensive side, but they are well worth it. Like the previous reviewer, I absolutely loathe going to the dentist, but Dr. Gussow made it as painless (literally) as possible for me. The doctors and the hygienists are very nice and considerate - they don't judge you or make fun of you for the condition of your teeth. They tell you exactly what will happen during the procedure and will warn you if something is going to hurt or not. Best of all, they offer sedation dentistry. It is so worth it! I don't remember anything that happened during my very long procedure and I'm very grateful for that. They also work with different credit agencies to work out payment arrangements. This means that even if you don't have insurance, you can still have a pretty smile. I highly recommend this place for anyone who has dental fears. read more

After experiencing some pain, and knowing I was past due - I made an appointment with Dr. Gussow at Vegas Smiles because of his reviews and because of his specialty in sedation dentistry. The staff - especially Crystal - was absolutely amazing and took the time to break down exactly what I needed and didn't, worked flawlessly with my insurance, and two appointments in, sedation is no longer necessary! Appointment was for a regular cleaning. Now they knew from my initial exam the prior week the condition of my teeth. Half way into the cleaning the hygienist told me she had run out of time and couldn't finish. I was told I could come back next week, but there would be an out of pocket charge to finish my cleaning. This is unacceptable as well as inconvenient. Now I have come to understand that their hygienist is not on their staff but is contracted and only there 2 days a week. I strongly recommend to stay away from this office. The staff is great but the doctor no longer deserves to carry a medical license in my opinion. I spoke with Dr. Gussow on three different occasions about a pre-existing condition on a front tooth that he would need to be aware of before performing work on some existing crowns. Despite that, he brutalized that tooth causing an extreme fracture and the need to have it extracted. The teeth that he did crown work on (upper fronts) were completely ill-fitting and I went through (and am still going through) several months of pain, discomfort, and the inability to eat food due to no longer having a functional bite. I survived on Ramen noodles and Ensure for months while Dr. Gussow repeatedly instructed me: "Just give it more time!" During that time, my jaw would occasionally clench in my sleep and my lower teeth put an extreme amount of pressure on the ill-fitting front crowns he had placed. This made my upper teeth extremely sensitive to touch, so much so that I couldn't even bite through a piece of bread. Again, this was constant pain and discomfort that I endured for several months until I was able to find an educated professional that could actually treat the issue that had been created. Thankfully, that issue has begun to subside after beginning orthodontics with the new provider. The lower teeth, all the while, were being filed down by their constant collision and grinding with the upper teeth. Still, Dr. Gussow asked me to give it more time. He had initially made one or two adjustments - "I'm filing off FRACTIONS of a millimeter of your lower teeth", he would say to me - but, eventually, he decided he would no longer perform adjustments. As a result, I had to resort to self-dentistry to even get a reprieve from the pain and discomfort. I literally went through day after day, for weeks, manually filing down my lower front teeth due to inaction on Dr. Gussow's part to address the mess he had set in motion. It was painful, as you can imagine, not to mention extremely stressful and it resulted in the loss of a significant amount of tooth structure. I now have a different dentist and am on month three of orthodontics. There is still a gap where my tooth was extracted from and I now get to wait to have an implant placed until after my orthodontics are done in 1-1.5 years. All because of an otherwise simple procedure by a dentist who came back to the chair shortly after completely breaking my mouth and said to me: "I've learned that I need to listen to my patients better." I would not trust this dentist regardless of how much he pretends to listen to and understand any concerns you may have. read more

I have recently had 4 crowns completed by Dr. Gussow and they are just beautiful and best of all my permanent crowns were put on in the same visit...no temporaries. What a wonderful , caring dentist and his staff is great. From my first visit, they made me feel comfortable and like I was part of their family. My dental bill was presented in advance with each item listed, so there are absolutely no surprises in cost. The office is comfortable and clean with t.v.'s in each room so you can totally relax. My dentist for years had been bugging me to get a tooth extracted, but I was always too afraid, and he did not offer sedation. Unfortunately the tooth started to bother me and I had to find a dentist that would offer it. I saw all the amazing reviews for this place and they are spot on. Dr. Gussow was very sympathetic and did not lecture me on how easy it is to get a tooth pulled like I had experienced prior. He went through the entire procedure with me and it was scheduled. Crystal at the front desk was also amazing and helpful. The sedation process is the greatest thing ever invented. I don't remember anything from the procedure and I felt great after. I am moving all my regular procedures here and cannot thank Dr. Gussow and his team enough for making me not scared of the dentist. On a side note, I had to have this done during the pandemic, so their professionalism amidst that was top notch as well. Very clean and up to date office too. If you are afraid of the dentist, I highly recommend sedation here, but the doctor's bedside manner made me feel at ease without it. read more

I absolutely love my new dentist office! This is my third visit and it keeps getting better everytime. Staff are kind, considerate, and professional. I had some gum issues and Dr. Le took an actual pic of the area with his camera and showed me where the problem was. That was helpful and easier for me to understand. They weren't at all condescending like some dentists and hygenists are. I also liked that they constantly asked if I was ok during the procedure and told me when it might hurt. They gave a lot me a lot of freebies (the adult version of the Treasure Chest lol) to take home. They also had a product there in the office that I needed and had available for me to purchase. The cost was affordable, front office staff was very helpful and friendly and location was easy to get to. I would highly recommend this Dentist. read more

OK. So let me just start at the beginning... I came in knowing that I needed to have all my teeth pulled out and dentures were the inevitable. My old dentist no longer took my insurance and this was the closest office to my house. I admit that it was my own neglect that brought me to this decision, that, and a lack of insurance.... But regardless.... Denture time. First and foremost, I was told that no pain relief would be provided here, should I choose to have some or all of my teeth removed in this office. Red flag!! My teeth have forever given me a multitude of problems, including but not limited to, braces at 14 for 4 and 1/2 years. I was not willing to undergo this type of dental work, knowing the pain our mouths can accost us. Nonetheless, I had all my X-rays done in office (btw : this office goes by the old school X-ray method, ie:nondigital)and after much debate (and half a day sitting there waiting for the old school results to come through) I decided to have all of my teeth pulled through an oral surgeon. I was informed that only 2 surgeons in the valley took my insurance and that they were both booking appointments 2-3 months out for a mere consultation. To my dismay, I arranged an appointment with one and was advised to get in contact with gentle dental as soon as I had finished with my consultation and booked an appointment for oral surgery. I was told to MAKE SURE I gave them 2 weeks (prior to oral surgery) to have my dentures made. I complied. When I called to make an appointment to make a mold of my mouth I was unable to get a hold of anyone in this office for 1 and 1/2 weeks. Every time I would call (during business hours)i was forwarded to an after hours answering service and a voicemail. I left numerous messages and my calls were never returned. It was only after a lucky dial, and a 17 minute hold, that I was able to schedule an appointment. I was told to come in at 3pm that day and I would get right back..... 3:30 rolls around... 4.... 4:30... 5! Closing time! I'm rambling... They have me so mad! I get in only to make the mold and be told it would take over a month for my dentures.... (which the oral surgeon said I could not have oral surgery without!) WTF!?? So here I sit..... Coming in for a fitting on my bite.... My surgery RESCHEDULED for March 29th. I am hopeful that everything is in order... BUT I JUST KNOW THERE ARE MORE PROBLEMS IN MY NEAR FUTURE! DO NOT COME HERE! I saw Dr. Gussow in December. One of my crowns had fallen off so I took it with me. I had x-rays taken of the area where the crown fell off and then the Doctor cemented it back on. In March the crown fell off again and I went to another dentist who, after the x-rays, informed me the tooth was rotting under the crown. After being given a mirror to look at the tooth I am positive it did not rot in three months. read more

I have always had a fear of dentists and have not been in over 5 years. Needless to say, I was in bad shape when I went to see Dr. Bill Gussow. His team was courteous, welcoming and warm - especially Dr. Gussow and his assistant Misty. They made my initial consultation easy and painless (just listening to drills, etc... makes me crazy). Dr. Gussow then performed "sedation" dentistry, and all that I remember about the day of my appointment was taking the sedation medication powder at 7:30 am and waking up in my bed at home around 4:00 pm later that evening. Really, I mean it, no joke. No side effects, was not groggy and above all experienced no anxiety or pain. During my follow up visit, I asked the staff how I was during the visit and they said I was my normal happy self (of course - I don't remember a thing - which is kind of funny).
