After having a full mouth of veneers placed over 25 years ago, I bit onto a hard candy and popped off my front veneer. He looked up which dental office I should go to and recommended Loan Mountain dentistry. The doctor there was absolutely incredible, and my teeth are perfect! I was so nervous that I was going to walk out with a front tooth that didn't match the rest being either yellowish brownish or just not the right color at all. I have a large cavity on one of my back teeth, from which the temporary filling fell out, and I wanted to immediately resolve this problem the next day. I hadn't checked the reviews here until now, only on Google, which I've heard is manipulated a lot. But since there were so many reviews on Google, and almost all of them were five stars, I thought I'd give it a shot. So I visited them three days ago and they claimed they could do a crown immediately, which is simply not possible. A crown requires a mold (negative) to be created, and that process involves the work of a dental technician. It's definitely not something that can be done in just 90 minutes. (They said all the process can be done in 90 min) They said they could do it right away, but when I told them I didn't have enough money at that moment, they suddenly became very flexible, telling me I could come back anytime--specifically, Tuesday (since they are closed on Mondays). They offer was $1200 , which is actually a huge "discount" from the original price of $2000. LOL However, even with the discount, the price was still questionably expensive, what it should have been. The assistant then put a paper in front of me, claiming how great a deal I was getting. There are likely manipulated reviews on Google (based on others opinions) and it's not surprising that this is the Xth management in years.. *10 months later update* My husband was complaining to me about the root canal he got done & asked me to find him a new dentist so he can get it checked out.. turns out my husband was in pain for the last 9 months because the root canal WAS NOT DONE PROPERLY!!! In the mix of him (the dentist) needing to rush out & catch his flight, he completely missed a canal!! 1 out of the 3 canals still had the nerve & was packed in so tight.. & since the root was decaying inside the tooth, an infection happened & needed antibiotics for 10 days.. I know we just got bad luck this time around, but I'm sure something like this can happen to someone else, this dentist doesn't seem to really care about his patients or has gotten proper time management down so I'd recommend to find somewhere else read more

I visited Lone Mountain Dental yesterday since it's been a few years since I've been to the dentist. My sister referred them to me and she couldn't stop singing them praises. I should note my sister is a pain in the ass and is not easy to please. I had a 1pm appointment and called to see if I could go in earlier. I was told if I could be there by 11am I could be seen. From the second I walked in, I was met with smiles. I may have waited in the waiting room all of 5 minutes. The place is nice and welcoming. Some of the most entitled and emotional billing people you will ever encounter. I'm still dealing with the repercussions of the shotty dental work, as well. The front desk lied to me about what my insurance covered in order for me to just go ahead and get the work done. They were supposed to take $100 out of my account monthly until it was paid off, they stopped taking the money in August of last year so I assumed it was paid off. Come to find out, they were sending me to COLLECTIONS for an autopay mistake that THEY MADE. They gave me $400 credit for the fuck up but I still had to pay the rest IN FULL to save my credit score from the Collections monster! Don't be like me! Before I start, I would like to note the dentist is great but the front desk lacks common knowledge, steals money and lacks the customer service to admit it until you bring proof and after their manager calls you every foul name in the book. For one, I had a filling done, at my cleaning I was told it would be $83 so that's what I brought to the appointment. After my procedure the representative Betty, then gives me a verbal amount of $272. Confused, I asked was my insurance applied and she confirmed it was so I paid as I had to hurry to leave to school and assumed the receipt would have the breakdown. The receipt did not have any breakdown just the amount they charged. I called back to see why they billed me the full cost of the procedure instead of the $83 I was advised, to which they tried to justify it by saying I had to pay the $83 along with a $25 deductible and a $20 no show fee. A no show fee for an appointment 5 months prior after I had been seen twice already? Didn't make sense nor did that add up to $272 regardless.. After going back and forth several times they ended up confirming they had me pay in full and refunded me $189 leaving me out of pocket of $83. I then received my statement from my dental insurance a week later who told me that they only charged me $41.40 out of pocket for my filling. So I was over charged STILL. I called back and was told "we sent over another claim to your insurance, they are aware you were charged more". My insurance had no knowledge and confirmed they sent over nothing else so they opened up a grievance to start an investigation. I then called back and made an appointment to speak with the billing manager in person as this was feeling like fraud at this point. I get called to the back and am immediately greeted by said manger with " what are you here for?" So I already knew it was going to be a bad meeting. She had a breakdown of my "statement" which was handwritten and yet again, wrong. I tried explaining to her that it is incorrect and had my EOB from my insurance & she immediately put her hand in my face and said " can you wait " as I'm explaining how their charging is off. I then told her, again, the billing was so incorrect that my insurance has filed a grievance and she replied with " okay you can leave then bye! ". Excuse me? I don't know if she was intimidated by me but the minute I sat down, something about me frustrated her. We then go back and forth, she's calling me a young disrespectful b word for what reason, I don't know probably because I called them out on their overcharging and took the time to gather proof and she could not answer why I was overcharged and resulted to insults. I do have this whole interaction recorded as well. We end up exchange a few vial words to one another, to the point the dentist comes out to calm things down. The manager ended up quitting because they "took my side" but in actuality, they were just willing to hear me out for 3 minutes on my overcharging. I go to the back yet again and speak with Betty who asked me to send her my EOB, she saw the breakdown they sent to my dentist and the amount they charged and emailed me a day later confirming they did in fact over charge me again and will send me a check. So I got cussed out, pushed to getting out of character all over my own money and confronting them on their overcharging of customers. The dentist is great like I said but be mindful of what you are paying out of pocket, I'm sure I'm not the only one this has happened too. I was verbally abused for asking for money that I was owed. I have attached proof of the email received that confirmed I was overcharged as well to confirm this review. I cannot stress enough that this should be your new dentist. Caring, on time, professional, everything I want in an office! I called the day before my appointment and got scheduled. Phone service was perfect. I showed up and was taken right back. Thus began my stress. My own fault had left me in pain, needing help, not showered, and ready to fight, because that's how my week was going. I was having issues with getting my bank to release the funds, I had canceled my card earlier in the week. After dealing with my issues they let me run to the bank putting my appointment time over an hour late. Again, my fault not theirs. I was thinking I looked like one of "those people", the ones who pretend they can pay but can't. They were SO nice to me about it! Once I got my stuff in order I went back in and they started. I told them I'm resistant to Novocain, a crap shoot because I've had dentists who seem to think it's a challenge, but not this time! He checked so many times to make sure I was good! He even gave me more before it needed it to make sure it didn't start to hurt! It was my front, middle teeth, and he capped them SO perfect! The capper? He filed my bottom teeth a bit to straighten the look! All the extra work and not one attitude and he didn't charge me extra! All in all I have to say they are amazing. Planned on having this place be my "forever" dentist for my family after my first and subsequent positive experiences here. That is, until Dr. Etman recently sold the practice. The first time after his departure, I went with my husband a couple weeks ago since I referred him here. First off, the front desk staff is rude. Not engaging, not "excited" to do their jobs, more interested in talking about their problems...nothing like their predecessors. They were nice enough to let me stay there with my kid while my husband saw the doctor (sitter canceled last minute) , but the front desk thought it was professional to discuss my husband's medical records loud enough that I could hear it up front. As an HR Employee, I literally counted how many HIPAA violations happened left and right right before my eyes. I let it go, chalked it up to growing pains. Fast forward to my husband's appointment today, I'm being texted about a tech having to step in to work on his mouth because he was "fighting them" (words used by the Doc) while they were drilling his mouth. My husband is a grown ass man, who on Earth uses this type of tone and verbiage whilst working on a patient? The next text comes, where there was a debate about an employee pissing and moaning about a Costco order, going back and forth with another employee (working on my husband), nearly arguing. The final text: "I will never come back here again". I'm all for supporting local business, I'm all for lifting people up, especially in the midst of the crazy going on in this world, but what I will not and never stand for, is for any company, entity, group, etc. to treat anyone other than with respect. I could give a shit about a medical degree, a military career, where you graduated from, and years of experience you have --that means nothing unless you make your patients/clients the epicenter of your universe in that moment. I do it every day at my job where I support over 2600 employees. I left my previous dentist based on all the amazing reviews I got from this place. I even wrote a 5-star review previously on Yelp, but I'd rather stand in a long line in the sun at the DMV than to ever, ever, return to this place again. I have edited this review to remove my opinions about causation that caused *someone* to lodge a complaint with Yelp about it. "Which tooth supposedly needs a crown, again????" That was question asked by my new dentist after looking at the x-rays he took and giving me an exam as a second opinion. Dr. Etman of Lone Mountain Dental told me that one of my molars NEEDED A CROWN. "Which tooth supposedly needs a crown, again????" "You tell me, doc!" I replied as my suspicions were confirmed. Of course, I knew which one and I told him. He just shook his head and rolled his eyes. I specifically didn't tell the new dentist which tooth ahead of time because it should be incredibly obvious to any board certified dentist when a tooth needs a crown. Right? That's not out of line. If one of your teeth needs a crown, it should be obvious. This was a MOLAR, so it wasn't a cosmetic issue, at all. If a tooth is so badly damaged that it needs to have a significant portion of it ground away by a drill so a new shell can be cemented to it, you should be able to see which one needs it. "I don't even see anything that needs a filling, let alone a crown." Let me restate that: New Dentist's exact words were "I don't even see anything that needs a filling, let alone a crown." Our family went to Lone Mountain Dental for years and years when Dr. Kennedy had it. We are very loyal to our health providers, but we finally had enough bad experiences with the new guy that we gave them the heave-ho. When I told the office manager why we were leaving, she did not seem care at all. It was just business as usual. Kennedy would put the pictures up on the TV so he could show you exactly what he was going to do. You'd see a before and after. This was not shown to me on this occasion. When Etman and our trusted hygienist for at least 12 years did not show me a photo of this tooth that supposedly needed a crown, it did not sit well with me. It was not presented as an "option". This was a requirement. The doctor says you have to do it, you do it, right? I am very thankful that I got a second opinion from an office that does not have a CEREC machine in house. I love technology. It makes our lives better. It's an amazing piece of technology that uses 3D scanning to scan your tooth and CAD/CAM to mill a replacement crown out of a block of material right there in the office. You can get a crown in one appointment instead of two or three when you go the traditional route with a ceramic crown made in a dental lab. That's great if you happen to actually NEED A CROWN. Now, those fancy machines can't color match teeth as well (since it mills a block of material) as a lab technician can, but that's not their biggest drawback. Look up how much those CEREC machines cost. By the way, this isn't a recent experience for me. I already have one crown from a previous dentist, so I know what is involved with it. Been there, done that. This wasn't me being frightened of the process. This was a gnawing feeling that something wasn't right. With my previous crown, it was a "get a root canal or we'll have to pull it" and there wasn't any thought about waiting a year. This all happened last year, in October 2017.  So, this tooth that supposedly needed a crown almost a year ago, is still in my head and STILL doesn't have a crown now. It doesn't even have a filling. When Kennedy retired and sold the practice to Etman, things changed dramatically. Suddenly, the front office manager Chris (?) wasn't there and no one talked about why. I mean, she was a fixture in the office, then suddenly gone. There was considerably more "upselling" of services. Sure, everyone has to make a living and turn a profit, but when it comes down to it, Etman is not nearly as good as Dr. Kennedy was. The fillings I had from him were more painful than the previous ones in that office. I was having a cavity filled and got the "Oh, it will just be a second" when I told him I wasn't numb enough. The numbing injection hurt like hell because my gums weren't topically numb enough. That's bullshit. The dentist should ALWAYS listen to the patient. Kennedy did, but he had decades of experience. Kennedy had no trouble actually listening to patients and believing them when the owner of the tooth and nerves said "Hey, give me a minute here." Kennedy didn't mind doing that. Kennedy already owned the practice and had decades of experience. When he took over, Dr. Etman took the time to thank us for staying with him. That's part of the reason why it took so long for us to leave. Both our physician and our optometrist had fledgling practices when we first started with them and it's wonderful to be a part of someone's professional and personal growth. We overlooked a LOT of smaller stuff here and there, but in the end our teeth are more important than his pocketbook.  Our trust in the entire staff was slowly destroyed. Leaving was sad and not something we did lightly, but WE come first. read more

My partner went in for a toothache and they ended up having to get a root canal. Dr.Godfrey was their dentist. Obviously for a root canal, you have to be numbed, or the pain is pretty unbearable. Well Dr.Godfrey didn't listen to his patient that the tooth was not numb and went on with the root canal. He administered the anesthetic in two places that did not numb the area. And when this service was happening, he acted as if he was annoyed by their mere presence. This is probably the worst dentist I've experienced. This is not okay medical/dental practice, and I understand that he sees a lot of people, but it sounds like he needs to brush up on his bedside manners. They were shaking with pain. I would not recommend this dentist, the office staff were nice though. Listen to your patients Dr.Godfrey, if they say they're in pain, they are in pain. I haven't been to a dentist in years. I called as a new patient and I had a very pleasant first impression from Amber from the front desk. She was very accommodating and provided great communication. The woman that handled the billing took her time to provide me with various options and went back and forth with insurance to make sure I pay the least out of pocket. Unfortunately, I did not get her name. The hygienist, Marylin, was great! She walked me through everything and was very considerate of my situation, provided great teaching as well. My teeth look and feel amazing. The Doctor assessed my xrays and provided good insight. Thank you to the staff here. My original post was on Friday January 19th. I was told they wanted to make things right and so I took reviews down Saturday night in anticipation of them making things right again. To my dismay after reviews were taken down I have not heard a single word from them or the Person Betty who caused the issue to begin with. The following has been my experience. I DO NOT RECOMMEND. My initial assessment of Lone mountain was good, the Dentist seems a decent guy and I was over the moon happy to get rid of the bad teeth Id had for years and get my new teeth. A particular staff member named Betty changed my assessment drastically. I had gone in on Tuesday to have my upper denture fixed as it had broke. I was told it would cost 400 and would have it in my hand same day or by wednesday. I paid 400 and a little extra (200) as I was considering doing implant snaps on top denture and had spoke to Dr Godfrey who said I was a good candidate for it. On wednesday when I went i to pick up fixed denture I was then told an x-ray would be needed for implant snaps which would cost an additional 150. That seemed appropriate and told them to use the extra I had just paid that morning. I usually see my denture sitting on table when I go to exam room but this time it wasnt there. Nothing was there. I was told wednesday they were very busy so I waited..and waited and waited some more... Then a woman (Betty) came in and said, So Miss Julie, I've gone through your acct and you never paid 1571.00 from Oct. I was surprised as I knew I was a bit out of it from the extractions but knew my husband had paid something that day before we left, She continued to say the card they had on file was not working. She asked if it was still a good card and I asked which do you have. She gave me the last 4 of card and I told her it was a good card up until December when we had a bout of fraud and bank closed card and issued a new one. She asked for new one over and over and even told me to call my husband and have him take a picture of it as she could use that for the acct. Meanwhile I am trying to look at my bank app to see if I could find anything paid to them in Oct and was trying to contact my husband. She was pretty aggressively trying to just get me to give her my CC number and the money and not do my own research to see what it is we have and have not paid them. She treated me like some shady criminal and I asked..is this why I have not gotten my denture back and have waited so long so you could find money I owe? I was told that was not the case but to my surprise after going ahead and paying the 1571. The denture then appeared on the table in the exam room. I was told I had to come back thursday morning so once again I took the morning off. I tried to express my displeasure to Karen but she just said Betty is a nice lady pretty much. So nothing was done and I was told my denture would be back thursday afternoon. I got a text at 415pm thursday evening it was ready and could I get there by 5pm when they close, but I had already taken morning off and didn't get off work till 5 pm. So once again had to wait till next day to go get it. When I went in Thursday morning another woman came in and Betty was discussing her acct out in front of everyone in waiting room where she was trying to get 150 from her for charges they missed from 2022. She ended up making her pay 100 as the woman showed her some paperwork and she agreed to let the 50 go finally. That was just another red flag for me. I had the 9k ready to give them for the upper implant snaps but after all this with Betty I have changed my mind and may never use lone mountain again. Beware of Betty who apparently doesn't keep a good eye on accts and comes after you for money you don't even know you owe. She was loud, aggressive and hovering looking at my personal business on my phone. It was unprofessional and a horrible experience. I was humiliated and embarrassed and NO ONE cared. I was told the x-ray would be discounted down to 35. but where did the extra 200 I paid go? I went in today to get my denture and once again tried to express my disappointment and told Lilliana I will be putting a pin in implants due to this but she seemed unaffected by my decision and still no one cares. Still feel I paid 200 extra and they just took it for unknown reasons. Very sad. **I am also concerned the bottom bone grafts and snaps have already been paid for by the insurance but I only received the grafts no snaps on bottom and I'm not entirely sure I will get the actual bottom snaps I think have been paid for by my insurance..I will research and call to figure that part out. THEY HAVE 100% AT THIS POINT LOST A GOOD CUSTOMER AND PATIENT. read more

This place was absolutely wonderful I personally HATE going to the dentist however the staff made me so comfortable while i was there as well as my children. I had to get an X-ray done and my baby was asleep the receptionist held her for me while I was getting it done. This spoke volumes to me as they care for their patients. If they have a cancellation they will call you to see if you want to come in sooner. My boys did so well thank you to the staff here I had a great experience and will definitely be back. read more

I left a voicemail requesting an appointment shortly after 8 AM and received a text from them. I replied with a text telling them my dentist had canceled an appointment because they were no longer Medicare approved. I told them I needed a new dentist because I had a lump on my jawbone and my jaw was hurting and asked them to advise if I could see them. They asked me to text them a copy front and back of my insurance card and I did so at 8:39. At 10:04 I texted them back and asked them if they were able to view my pictures their reply was yes and we're working on it. At 4:30 I contacted another dentist and they are getting me in tomorrow a.m. I texted Lone Mountain back and told them that I had scheduled an appointment with someone else since I never heard back from them. No reply from them. Now I'm glad they didn't set an appointment for me. read more

The new dentist is an egotistical scam artist. He wouldn't recent my crown and left in pain because he "doesn't December other dentists crowns" I actually received the crown at this location under the former dentist. It was very upsetting and uncalled for. Avoid this place now. read more

Be very careful at this dental office. They are dishonest and will try to upsell you. They took an x-ray of two of my front teeth and said they both had cavities and I would need to get two root canals and two crowns in the front of my mouth and the price would be about $3,600. I went to another dentist and he filled both of my front teeth and it cost me $400. Lone Mountain Dental also told me that I should crown all of my front teeth which is outrageous because if you have healthy teeth, you should not put crowns on them. Lone Mountain dental is very dishonest and when it comes to the health of your body, or your teeth, it is outrageous for a medical or dental provider to lie to you. read more
