Got me some children's books and a non-fiction book, kind of a reading challenge as I'm sadly very occupied with my smartphone. And it's refreshing to see a whole wall of magazines. Every month, if you buy a children's book, you can buy a featured, popular kids' book for $9.99. I took advantage and love the amusing, heavily discounted "Mother Bruce". Many gift options as well- LP's, Legos, journals, mugs, candles, puzzles and stuffed animals, though they are overpriced. The store is in what looks like a converted theater. A big plus is the huge parking lot in the back, for the whole block. Really appreciate having a large, clean brick and mortar bookstore to immerse yourself in.

They have a vast selection of books from fiction to non-fiction, bibles, covers of bibles, cookbooks, celebrity books, autobiography, trend magazines along with other magazines.. wall to wall all the way in the back. They have a big selection of children's books too. Prices vary depending what you buy. They used to sell CD's too. Have bought few in the past. They have a little corner when you walk in to your right that sell gifts, knick knack stuff that are practical, beautiful, and unique. I have purchased few in the past. Walked in yesterday and got a warm, friendly hello from couple of their employees. They were eager to help me and see what I was looking for. I needed a few cookbooks, couple of celebrity books that always captures my attention and I was lucky enough that they had what I was looking for. If they don't have it, they will order it for you. Once it arrives, you will get an email, a text or a phone call from them to go and pick it up. Don't forget to use your 10% discount at the front. You have to be a member of the store. Store is BIG, clean, nicely organized alphabetically according to what you are looking for. All aisles are easy to navigate and it's pretty quiet in there which I love. They even have few armchairs to sit down and read a book. Great store..hands down!! Parking in the back shared with few other businesses. One gender neutral restroom and it is ALWAYS clean. Have used it few times. Thank you Barnes & Noble, all employees for your loyalty, dedication and always being kind and willing to help. Appreciated.

The Sci-fi section was PACKED with trade papers, which is always a glory to behold as someone who misses the affordability and convenience books used to hold. Slipping a small trade paper of Terry Pratchett or a small copy of Little women used to be so convenient-rather than shelling out 20-30 dollars for a display piece that's bulky to carry around. The owner was also as helpful and sweet as humanly possible. He showed me right where I needed to be, and even helped me dig through the shelves to find if he had that one special edition of the secret garden he remembered having. Alas- it turned out he sold it a little while back. But all the same he was the kindest soul and most importantly had the passion in his eyes and heart for books that I look for walking into any book store, used or new. I need this experience, I needed to know places like this can still be called home. So to the owner of Next Chapter Books I thank you from the bottom of my heart and promise I will be back for more of your trade papers!

They also have a small section with DVDs and CDs, which was such a fun dose of late-'90s and early-2000s nostalgia. I loved it. One of my favorite features was their "Surprise Reads" section. The books are wrapped so you can't see the cover, and each one has a short description of the story or theme instead. It encourages you to choose a book based on the synopsis rather than the cover, which I think is such a fun idea. I've discovered some fantastic books through "Surprise Reads," so I was excited to see they had a section dedicated to them. The staff were super friendly and helpful. They helped me look for a series (The Telesa or Covenant series) that I am trying to get. Unfortunately they didn't have the series but hopefully in the future. The location is great as it is at a mall close to coffee shops to grab you a book and head on for coffee or tea to read and enjoy.

Great atmosphere, cool staff, and really good book selection! Love their social media book…read morerecommendations as well - that's how they lure me into the store. I love their tote bag discount and stamp cards, and if you love books, you'll end up racking up a lot of stamp cards before being able to use them all They also host a lot of fun events like author signings, book bedazzling, and trivia nights. The store is located in the heart of The Village in Topanga and there's ample parking. If you want to read your haul immediately, you'll find a lot of seats just outside the store. The store is also pet-friendly except on days they have pet guests, and they usually post a sign outside.

And this place? It gets it. There's something about flipping through dusty records that just hits different. It's like walking into a thrift store and catching that mid-century smell--you either understand it or you don't. I do. I live in band tees 90% of the time, and this spot is basically my natural habitat. I've built up little collections over the years--certain genres, classics I refuse to let go of--and being here made me actually consider bringing some pieces back in. But also... you never know when the internet might betray you, and suddenly that random DVD becomes essential again. The vibe here is unmatched, super nostalgic without trying too hard. And the service? Genuinely great. Friendly, helpful, and not pushy at all. Also--fell completely in love with a Madonna T-shirt that I absolutely need in my life. Definitely coming back. Easy five stars.

I have heard of this place for a long time but never set foot in it until yesterday…read more I had a our 75 DVDs and 65 CDs I wanted to get rid of so I remembered about CD trader. The experience was fine and the sale of them went super smooth,. They were very fast checking them and having my money ready but the 2 guys behind the counter that were helping me were pretty rude and unwelcoming. Just the way they talked to me and seems very unfriendly. I've never brought items in to sell and don't know how fast they would go they them since it was a Saturday and I figured they would be busier then a weekday, I took a bunch of games to sell to GameDude a week previous and they took like 4 hours to go thru them. I literally had to drop them off and come back hours later. I didn't know if that was the norm or what. So i walked in with just my crate of CDs, because I figured I could always come back another day with the DVDs but i got called fast. Since it went quickly I figured I'd bring my DVDs in, and then I told one guy that I had a crate of DVDs to bring in also and he snapped an was like "Why didn't you bring them all in at one time?" I'm sorry I actually thought I was doing them a favor because maybe it was busy or they were short staffed. How the hell am I supposed to know? So then I brought the crate of DVDs in. I also lost my voice a few days prior and was just getting on back so my voice is pretty low at the moment l, so when I spoke to them, they were like "What? I can't hear you". Almost like I was annoying them with my low voice. I don't know if they were the owners or what, they were older guys and not some younger employee so I assume maybe owners or managers. So my point is the stores pretty cool and they have some great stuff, but the two guys in front were kinda dicks. Doubt I'll be back.

I guess one of the down sides is I just trust this place too much with their cards out on display no signs of LP, MP, or HP. Picked out a bunch of single cards & I noticed after the purchase, as I'm putting the cards in the top loaders, that one card was severely damaged in the back and top corner bent like a mf. 30 dollar card nothing crazy. I just simply asked if I can just get another 30 dollar card. Nope I couldn't do that. Keep in mind I haven't even left the store yet. The only thing they can do is give me 22 dollars cash. Like 8 dollars is not a big deal but it's the principle.. on top of that I went there on my lunch break had 1 hour, spent my entire hour there. First person to walk in and everyone that came in after me got the help they needed first after asking nicely if I can get some cards, I was the last one out. This experience left a very bad taste in my mouth and I'm writing this hoping others don't receive the same treatment. Probably won't come back Paper Hero Games on Burbank, friendly staff. GREAT prices.
