I am a huge fan of Veggie Heaven. This was my first time at this particular location so I was excited to try it this past weekend. My favorite is the Teaneck location because of how huge their menu is. I was pleasantly surprised to see they also (like Teaneck) offered sushi! It was yummy. The food was delicious. Nice ambiance. Good service. The menu was large but still didn't compare to the one in Teaneck (it's very hard to compete with) but I still enjoyed my meal here. I always do - you really can't go wrong, everything is delicious. I did notice that the smoothies came in cute tall glasses and my straw wrapper had a cool twisty paper design around it....points for presentation! I love this restaurant!!! read more

This restaurant proved to be a pleasant surprise both in terms of food and ambience! To be clear, the extensive menu is COMPLETELY vegetarian. I went as part of a group of 3, and one person even ordered without realizing the meat is actually "meat" (i.e. tastes similar to meat, but is actually made of vegetables). I ordered the Fruit Spice drink (apple, pineapple, pear, ginger) - it was OK, the ginger over-powered the other flavours. We shared an Avocado Ball appetizer (avocado with "tuna") which we all enjoyed. For my main, I had the Black Pepper Chicken - fried "chicken" chunks with onions, mushrooms, ginger, scallions, and garlic in black pepper sauce. Very tasty - sauce was flavourful and the dish tasted fresh. The "chicken" was fried and as someone who does eat regular chicken, I can say that while it didn't taste exactly like the real thing, the texture was definitely not far off. The one negative was that the "meat" was a bit tough, some pieces were difficult to cut. Bill for 3 beverages, 1 app and 3 mains came to $63 USD before tip. read more

I ordered a shrimp and spicy tuna roll to go. Usually when I order shrimp rolls they are tempura shrimp. But this was just I think steamed shrimp or so in a roll. Then I got the tuna roll too usually my tuna is an orange color, but from here it was gray. Overall very disappointed in my rolls. My mom worked in Denville for many years and one night she brought food home from here many years ago. I love this place. One of the best places for vegetarian and mock meat Chinese dishes around. The food here is awesome. A lot of the dishes are mock meat (not sure if its wheat gluten), but the tofu and strictly veggie dishes are great too. First time I actually went and sat down to eat there was a month ago. The restaurant on the outside looks like a take out joint but inside it's quiet the opposite. The decor is great and the atmosphere is nice and quiet. My favorite dish is the mock General Tso's chicken dish. There is such a variety on the menu that I need to expand my ordering to other things on the menu. Definitely recommend this restaurant to those who are vegan, vegetarian, neither or open minded. We placed a large takeout order here for Mother's Day and the food did not disappoint. I've been here countless times in the past and overall, I've had pretty solid experiences. There was a time or two for dine-in that maybe the food was not up snuff but otherwise, it's been pretty consistent. Our order consisted of 10+ dishes and they had it ready on time for us despite the fact that it was a busy holiday. My favorite is definitely the Orange Chicken which has a nice slightly spicy kick to it along with the flavorful orange peel. The scallion pancakes are always a hit as well, so that is a must here. As with really most other restaurants, I would really recommend that you dine-in here because the food is just not the same after it cools down. All VEGAN menu and they have a gluten free menu as well. Got the population roast pork appitizer. And it's popular for a reason. Wow good. The main was a Fresh Garden Walnut dish with 'chicken", snow peas, string beans, walnuts, pears, shitake mushrooms. What a great plate. Very healthy portion, gluten free and vegan. Veggie Heaven has several locations throughout NJ and NY, but the Denville location is my favorite. The service is friendly, the prices are reasonable, and they have the best vegan sushi selection I've seen in my travels. My go-to appetizers are the dumplings, ribs and Autumn roll, but you can't make a bad choice. I'll usually go with the Bang Bang Chicken and Beef, the curry noodle soup or the Peking duck for an entree, unless I'm in the mood for sushi. Their sushi selection (all vegan) will impress even the most picky of sushi snobs, and all of their food could win over even the most uptight carnivore. You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu, and believe me, I've tried nearly everything. The dessert selection is awesome as well, and I can definitely recommend their carrot cake and their cheesecake. I have been to this place many times in the past and at their previous location. On this trip, there were five of us. There were some minor mistakes. I had to ask about a drink I ordered and someone got brown rice instead of white rice as they'd requested. The staff was a little slow but quick to resolve the issues. I had the general tao tofu. It was the perfect amount of spice/heat. I also had a mango bubble tea which was also yummy! The person next to me ordered the matcha cake for dessert which I sampled. It was yummy but a bit on the dry side. I'll be back again as long as the restaurant is around. read more

This place is an all time favorite. I could eat veggie heaven every day and not get tired of it. A+ always!

I came here yesterday and ordered the bang bang beef and chicken and the cheesecake. I'm surprised how they were able to create different textures for the "beef" and "chicken". The dish was good! I think i personally liked the texture of the "chicken" better. Makes me think that i can go vegan/vegetarian (although i dont know how to make this at home- sadly). For dessert i got the cheesecake. It wasn't bad but nothing to die for. I also tried their coconut cake which my friend got. She loved it but i thought it was alright. I liked the dark filling in the cake though. the food is very good, worth 5 stars, but they need more staff- or make current staff more attentive. The one waitress seated me & was never to be seen again. 20 minutes later I flagged down a waiter to order food. Thankfully he was really nice and my food came quick. But, he was never to be seen again. Nobody checked in on me every again, so eventually I just paid my bill with the front counter kid and left. Awkward ! read more

Went to veggie heaven yesterday and it was a delightful experience! Everything my friend and I had was delicious. He is vegan and I am vegetarian and we both enjoyed the won ton soup, paradise chicken, chicken lo mein, mango bubble tea, homemade lemonade, and two delicious desserts (fried banana and tofu vanilla ice cream). The chicken tastes JUST LIKE real chicken (though it's made of tofu). The weather was beautiful so we sat outside, and the waiter was charismatic and friendly. We really had a wonderful experience and are looking forward to going back to try more of their amazing dishes. read more

The BEST food! I am newly vegan and realized that I only like 15 minutes away from one of the best vegan spots in Jersey. I've gotten food from here several times, and have NEVER been disappointed! I highly reccomend the drumsticks, which actually taste like I was eating real chicken! You also cannot go wrong with the general tso's chicken! Got food for the whole family from here (who are not vegan by the way), and they were just as surprised as I was at how much it tasted like we were eating real meat.
