The food here was phenomenal. I had the lentil soup and the low mein, the portions were appropriate, the ingredients seemed fresh, and the food was really tasty. I'm trying to eat clean to lose the holiday weight so I thought I'd stop in and get some vegan food. My diet is quite restrictive right now so vegan fits in nicely. I got their version of a cheeseburger which was a black bean patty on onion crisp with cashew cheesy sauce and mushrooms. It was absolutely delicious but a tad bit small. This was paired with a large house salad. It was delish! The place itself is small but homey. They have large farm house looking tables and a counter sort of area as well. This place is not the typical fancy location and ambience expected for raw vegan dishes you typically find in Santa Monica or Costa Mesa. It's in Lakeforest, next to a Mongolian beefy restaurant and Smart and Final. Remove that kind of expectation and focus on the food and you get a big time, WOW!!! The onion crackers are phenomenal! I ordered the Veggos Tapas that had three different samples but the sizes were larger than expected. First dish was a lowmein made with sea kelp (My favorite), a hummus bread made with the onion bread and sprouted garbanzo, a Vegos Cheeseburger made of the onion bread, cheesy crema. All yummy. I sampled the cashew cheese. It was not the typical tangy cheese. This one was absolutely delish and a must try. Then again, I sampled the walnut pate!! Pity, you can't order it alone like in a bottle because it was to die for. I want to try the Laguna pizza next time. It has the walnut flax bread and almond cheese and marinated mushrooms etc.. Shocked how long it took for me to discover this place considering they've been around since 2013. If you are a holistic vegetarian/vegan, this is definitely a place to add your to list of vegan spots. The food is very clean and uses raw simple ingredients, and the entrees are very creative. I, myself, am not Vegan but enjoy eating Vegan every now and then. The food here is pretty good. When I went, I ordered their V'Gos cheeseburger main dish which came with a choice of salad or soup. I opted for their soup of the day which was mixed veggies and coconut cream. The "cheeseburger" did not resemble a burger whatsoever. It looked more like a panini. Regardless, the "burger" was tasty. The sauce they used was delicious and was the catalyst for an all-around tasty burger. Their soup of the day was good too, but nothing too extraordinary. My biggest problem here is the portion. This place might have the worst portions I've seen for any restaurant I've been to. You can devour their nutty patty in 2 small bites easily. For $9, I would go as far as to say this place is a rip-off. You're better off going to Native Foods or Vegan Nirvana and getting double or triple the portions for the same price or a few bucks more. Service is good and the atmosphere is clean. They have cool and catchy photos on their wall too. Tucked away in the strip mall next to Smart and Final, is this little healthy gem. It reminds me of a paired down version of Veggie Grill. I'm not big on veggie substitutions for cheese and meat so I just went with a salad that was huge, packed with ingredients (including my first taste of mung beans) and their apple balsamic dressing. $11 and change with tax. Wanting to get a taste of more than one dish I went with the veggos tapas for lunch. This has three smaller servings of the oriental lomein, hummus sandwich and v'gos cheeseburger. I also tried the Harvest pumpkin tea. Which was pretty interesting but not something I would try again. The lomein was so tasty, but was missing a few of the ingredients it noted on the menu. In place was zucchini chunks. Based on the photos it's definitely lacking. The cheeseburger came as described in the menu and I really liked the cheesy creme. It did fall apart and I don't think it's something I would order again. The hummus sandwich also came as described and for someone not used to raw foods, I think this would be a good starter dish. Laguna pizza taste good (a bit too salty) but is a tiny portion for what you pay. They do not put much care into their salads. Tastes like it comes from a bag of ice berg lettuce and they add a few sprouted lentils and mung bean to make it look decent. The salad dressing was not enough for the salad they provide. They use polystyrene containers, hoped they were more environmentally friendly with compostable containers. This place is expensive for their tiny meals sorry to say. read more

It was a long and rainy day. Work had drained me physically and mentally. My stomach rumbled and grumbled, sending out hunger pangs. "Go eat now!" demanded the stomach. Essentially, I heeded my stomach's demand for hunger and went for the nearest restaurant of interest... and Veggos fitted that description. Veggos in a few words: delicious, healthy food that is affordable--although not as aesthetically pleasing. When I entered Veggos, I was greeted warmly by the boss Ron himself. He's genuine and talkative--in a good way. He took my order, and we chatted for a bit. While waiting, I took in the layout and decor of the place; it was simplistic and minimalistic--my kind of setting. The food came out fairly quickly; I would say it took about 3-5 minutes (during a non-busy time). Notable Foods: Laguna pizza (personal favorite): Is this really a pizza? It doesn't look like it, but it guess it qualifies (e.g. base, toppings); it's an unconventional-looking pizza! Anyway, this pizza is good! Its appearance is deceiving which could possibly boost the taste--the lower the expectations, the better it is I suppose. I recommend this for this first-timers. Cheese burger (no, there's no actual meat): Small, but appetizing. This is actually good too. I prefer the Laguna Pizza though (obviously). When you order either of the entrees above, you can choose a side: a salad or soup. The sides taste alright. Nothing too special about them. After the first experience, I've been here plenty of times now and brought a friend or two here.
