I've been a few times and have had mixed experiences so will give it a 4. Kyle was our bartender and was very good. He was all on his own and we could tell he was doing his best! He let us try a few beers since they were out of the Partly Cloudy IPA we came in for- bummer. We got a house salad (which is huge!!) and it was just the 'roughage' I needed. We got an order of 10 boneless wings - medium and teriyaki. Both great! The medium flavor was fairly cold though so we should have sent them back. But we were too hungry. We also got an order of shoestring fries (extra crispy) first which were delicious. Maybe should have waited to make a meal as they were $7 but we know for next time. Very poor customer service experience! It smelled like cigarette smoke as soon as you walk in and I waited up front for about 10 minutes and no one came to greet me or seat me. I walked over to the bar and had to talk to someone to get some service. The bartender guy then asked another lady to help me. Then that lady passed me off to another girl and then she had me follow her right back to the front and took my order. I waited at the front for about 10 minutes and the girl who initially took my order left again and was nowhere to be found. I saw a guy come and sit a bag at the front with no one there to verify or make sure it was my order so as he was walking away I asked him what order is that and he told me. Since it was my order I grabbed my bag and left because there wasn't anyone at the booth to ensure it was my order or if I had napkins or anything else. Very poor customer service experience. The wings were cooked well and were a good sizd but lacked flavor. I got the honey crab and lemon pepper flavored wings and they tasted like plain wings. They should've been tossed more and had more sauce. Solid place for wings at a great price on Wednesday's when bone-in and boneless are 1/2 price. Happy Hour specials are good for beer and wine, and the wine selection is pretty good for a sports bar. Have had a few of their salads which were fresh and a large serving size, also done well for a sports bar. Recently changed their menu and added some fun new appetizers, but took away other main meal options to focus more on wings and burgers. No condiments were on the burger as requested, but they did follow the no cheese or tomato. No dill pickle was included. And the fries were cold and stale. Not edible. The wings were requested to be mild & medium split between the 30. The boxes were marked appropriately, however, they were not segregated and mild and medium were mixed!! Not good guys. We also asked for Extra Crispy on the order form... you guessed it.... flaccid skin. On top of it the wings temperature was cool to cold. Microwaved order?. The only positive with velocity wings is that the wings are a decent size. Then there were the celery and carrots. Carrots were good, celery shouldn't have been served. Is anything but a sports. Plenty of TVs with all the sports you want but don't try to watch a game that starts at 7 PM or later because you will be getting last call at 9:30 and doors close at 10. Cannot watch Monday night, Sunday night or Thursday night football at the Lovettsville location. No NBA or college basketball night games unless you make a mad halftime dash to an actual sports bar. I've lived in the area for a little over a year and eaten here about 5 times including today. The burgers and salads are always good, as are most of the appetizers. The service is genuine, meaning local servers who try hard and care- which goes a long way with me. Tonight I left disappointed. I ordered the cheesesteak with a side salad. The salad was great as always, very fresh. The appetizers were good and the rest of my family enjoyed their meal. My cheesesteak had a great flavor, until the salt kicked in. It literally tasted like someone had dumped a few tablespoons of salt in it. My wife and daughter tried it to make sure it wasn't me- it wasn't. Savannah came by and I explained the problem. She did a great job of having another one made. By the time this one came out my family was done eating. I took too bites and this one had zero flavor- none at all. Savannah was busy and I didn't want to make an issue out of it. She came by to drop of the check and sat it right next to the plate full of food. If that wasn't enough to notice- we asked her for boxes for my families leftovers and I made it clear there was no need for box because the cheesesteak was not worth taking. She was clearly outside of anything she had been trained to deal with and just offered a genuine apology - which was enough for me at the time. It was busy, no reason to add to her stress. Managers/owners- when food is sent back, someone needs to check on it after it's served again. And when it's still not right- take the stupid $13 sandwich off of the $200 check. I have no problem spending $40 per person for a meal, but it should be edible. If not the first time, definitely the second time, and your servers were working very hard on a busy night. IMHO - you lose a star for the food issue and another for the lack of appropriate management oversight. I will say this- 3 stars is more than I've ever given a restaurant that messed up my food. They said they stopped making their gyro salad, and the order taker said to get another option, which was almost the same, basically a Greek salad. We ended up with what was basically a fruit salad. It was so sugary it was horrible. Candied fruit, candied nuts, sweet cheese, and dressing that tasted like plain oil. Three salads ended up costing $50. This was not a good experience. I am quite disappointed considering I have been here before on Sunday afternoons for football and the bartender then was attentive and friendly. The only person in the entire establishment that had any customer service was the hostess. Granted there was only one bartender on duty but it took quite a while to even be acknowledged. Almost like they were not cooked at the same time. The sauce was adequate. The best thing about the mule where the carrot sticks. Even the celery was limp. The manager was interested to say hello to his friends. However, even though I was right across from where he was, never asked cow my meal was or anything. Not like he was busy. As you can see from the pictures, the manager doesn't seem to be doing the rest of his job. Burger King soda Cups by the POS system. Just moved to the area and has hesitant to try Velocity after reading some of the reviews. We have eaten here twice now and the food has been fabulous!! Service is great, we are on the outside patio and they even brought a water dish for our dogs! Give them a try, you won't regret it. We will be back many times for sure!! Ugh. I usually love this place. We come all the time. Few days ago, we ordered some food to go. Took 50 minutes, to the point I almost asked to cancel it because it was taking so long, then took it (we only live 5 minutes away) and it was cold and saugy. I could not eat it. But we've always sat there, so I just assumed it was a one time thing, and still wanted to continue to go there, just eat in. So we did, well we tried to... today we walked in the girl kinda already had an attitude, and the grill was down, we said okay, that's fine. We are sat at her table by her and a trainee. 10 minutes later, no service still, then the same girl goes to seat another 4 people, immediately after they sit down, she starts to take their order. So since I had already been waiting about 12 minutes, I'm confused, and walk over to her and ask what the problem is and why they are being served before us. And instead of coming over and helping us, she walks to the back. The only difference I saw from us and everyone else is the race of our skin and it made me feel like this girl was being racist. I was walking by there one day, about to walk across the cross walk. And some person in a big black truck speeds up and then just brakes really hard right in front of the cross walk.
