I have been to this establishment probably a half dozen times. Food is always good. They really, really, really need to upgrade their seating. It is uncomfortable, especially the metal chairs and the benches without any cushions. You definitely do not want to stay and linger over coffee at this place. Also, they need more help. I get that it is hard to find waitstaff , but i don't want to pay good prices for food and wait for it to be served within a reasonable time. I don't want to flag down servers to refill my tea or drinks. I shouldn't have to clean off my own table. I give it a 4 for food, 2 for service and 0 for seating. read more

TL;DR: Would come back. Great place for the weekend. Food (4/5): The fried pickle chips are a must, along with the spinach artichoke dip. I get them every time I visit. I really enjoy all their food, but it is definitely on the greasy side. Expect the possibility of a slightly upset stomach afterward. Service (5/5): The staff is usually very friendly and offers great recommendations. They are quick with the food, no matter how much you order. They always check in to see how everything is and ask if you need anything else or a drink refill. Ambiance (5/5): This is your typical farm-style restaurant. There are plenty of outdoor picnic tables, most with umbrellas, and lots of indoor seating on picnic tables as well. It gets loud inside, and outside you will hear traffic noise from Route 7. I would give this place 100 stars if I could! My boyfriend and I had dinner here last night for the first time after a friend's recommendation. The place was busy (as to be expected on a Saturday night) but they were well staffed. Service was excellent! I wish I could remember our server's name. She was very attentive and had no problem keeping up with my boyfriend drinking gallons of tea. I tried it, I can see why, they have really good sweet tea!! I had the BEST Hefeweizen and we started with an order of calamari to share which was cooked perfectly. It was served with some sort of mayo-based sauce which I don't like, so I asked the server if they had cocktail sauce. "We don't.....but I think I can make you some!" She came back a few minutes later with a cup of cocktail sauce they whipped up for me!!! For entrees, he ordered the filet. It was a beautiful cut of steak, tender, and cooked perfectly. I was craving fish n chips but my friend had demanded I try the jagerschnitzel....so I ordered both lol. I'm going to have leftovers for days and I'm not mad about it!! Both meals were incredible and very generous portions. Fish was perfectly crispy and the gravy on the jagerschnitzel....mmm....I don't even have words! The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming with a variety of seating options. I tend to have anxiety in crowded spaces but I was perfectly comfortable here. This wasn't my first time here but I think it's my first review. Everything was fabulous as it was before, which of course is why we came back! Cocktails were divine, service was fabulous, hostess was incredibly sweet and seated us promptly, and by far the best fish and chips I've had in America. Truly. We spend a lot of time in England and it's hard to find good fish and chips here although even not so great fish and chips are still pretty tasty! Service was good! We went with the "so-called" German food. If you appreciate good German, then go elsewhere, because this will disappoint. This is the plate after my wife was disgusted. First, there is not a German restaurant that is authentic that serves cold sauerkraut. This is not German potato salad it was lukewarm potato salad from perhaps Food Lion. The bratwurst was okay until I hit 2 large unidentified gristle. This is a decent place to grab a beer and roll out! Make it a pit stop on your way thru, but spend your money elsewhere on food. read more

The food here is incredible -- truly five-star quality. Fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Unfortunately, the service and atmosphere didn't match the kitchen's talent. There were dirty dishes everywhere -- on tables, at the bar, even around the outdoor seating area. It looked like they might have been just coming off a rush or short-staffed, but no one seemed to be hustling or cleaning. I sat outside for about 20 minutes (after checking with the hostess) without anyone even acknowledging I was there before moving inside to the bar for service. I had to clear a space myself just to sit down. During my entire meal, not a single area was wiped or bussed. It's a real shame, because the food is outstanding. With better staffing and attention to cleanliness, this place could easily be a five-star spot. read more

We decided to meetup here with our adult children for a casual dinner and drinks. We've passed this place many times but had NO idea what we were missing! First THE Pretzel!!! OMGGGGG! Whatever else you order...you have to get you one!!! The Frickles and Wings are amazing as well but THE Pretzel will live in your dreams! Cocktails were all on point! For Entrees my Husband had the More Better Burger with some enhancements to spice it up, ie the En Fuego Sauce, and it did its job! I had the California Sandwich and could NOT finish it all! Others in our party enjoyed the Crab Cake, the Jaegerschnitzel which got RAVE reviews, the Reuben and the Steak Street Tacos. Every dish was served hot and fresh and delicious! Dessert was just as epic and the ideal ending to our meal! The Apple Fries, Cookie Dough Balls, Classic Sundae and Cheesecake were perfection! You know it was a fantastic meal when NO one took any pics!!!! Our Server Noelle and the rest of the Team were so attentive and friendly! Along the long windy road of Route 7 is a cool brewery and restaurant. We met some friends who were coming from Harper's Ferry. There's a very large dog play area in the back parking area. It's fenced and has dog poop stations. The large outdoor seating area is welcoming to kids and dogs. You may want to bring a bed for your pet if they are not used to sitting on dirt and rocks. There's a nice selection of beer, wine and cocktails. They are a tiered weekday happy hour $3,$4,$5 matches to the time. We arrived between 5-6p so our beer and wine was $5. Also they offer some snacks for $5: super large pretzels, fried pickles and a few other items. We split a couple of meals and munched on the $5 snacks. The server provided lots of assistance and even separated some of our split meals. That was a nice touch. read more

On a bright and sunny Sunday afternoon, we took another drive to Round Hill. This restaurant was doing a great business with almost all of the parking places taken. We were given a table in just a few minutes and truly enjoyed our German food. For us, this was a long drive to get to a restaurant, but well worth it. There are few German restaurants around and even fewer that serve German food at a reasonable price and authentic. The beer was also good. Our server was "Christi". She was great! More Better seems to be a popular place for dinner this past Saturday evening. My friends and I arrived around 8 PM after hiking Raven Rocks and we had to wait ~20 minutes before we got a seat. This place definitely has a nice outdoor terrace with lots of fairy lights (the ones with the large lightbulbs) along with lots of bench-style indoor seating, too. Seems like this is the place to go for beers and drinks along with bar style food. The servers here are nice and attentive. RIBEYE STEAK (16 OZ.) - 28 It's 25.00 for 12 oz., so why not pay +3 for 4 additional ounces of steak? The garlic mashed potatoes were definitely very garlicky and more on the chunky side with potato skin mixed in. It was seasoned well and topped with a lot of green onions! The asparagus were a huge miss. The bottom 2-3 inches of the asparagus were inedible and hard to chew. So I just left all of them half bitten on my plate since I was not able to consume them. The ribeye was grilled well and the medium rare I liked. Overall, it was a decent cut of steak and definitely worth the price point. Got the steak with an iced Coke and it was the perfect dinner after a few hours of hiking. My friends got the burgers and sandwiches, and I was able to mooch a few house fries from them that were pretty solid. The portions here are large and the food here is decent. Definitely an option worth checking out after Raven Rocks (surprisingly, there's a few restaurants/bars/beer gardens in the area). read more

My wife and I have eaten here at least 20 times. The food has been good with the exception of a steak I got the first time which was the worst steak I have ever had at a restaurant, this includes Third World Nations. The beer selection is awesome, they have an exceptional Heffervisen. However, the service has always been sketchy. I'm giving it a one star because this last experience earned it. We were seated at a table that lines up against the wall, guy brought water over, and then nothing. No one ever talked to us or even acknowledged our presence. There were not a lot of customers and most of the staff were very busy on their cell phones. After 10 minutes we talked to a busboy, I think, because they don't seem to have a uniform, and asked if we even have a waiter or waitress. He went over to the hostess (only person that actually did their job) and it looked like he yelled at her. Lot of finger pointing. After another 7 minutes (I timed it) we called it and were starting to get up when the water guy came over to take our order. We said not a chance, thanks, goodnight. Both my wife and I have worked in the service industry, we treat staff well, we tip well at 30% at least, and we don't bitch a lot. When I write a critique it's usually in the hopes that the manager or owner will reach out, say they are making corrections, and then we will try it again. If there is nothing then that's exactly how much of our business they get in the future. Easy fixes, pick a uniform, train your staff, manage your staff, and make sure they keep their cell phones out of sight of the customers, no one wants to see that. This is a great restaurant although quite a distance from where I live but well worth the trip. We sat at the bar and ordered our drinks and then decided to get Frickles (fried pickles) to share before our meal. I decided to get the Jagerschnitzal for my meal, which was a fried pork chop with mushroom gravy and homemade fries with broccoli. I wasn't sure if the mushroom gravy would be too salty or not good, but it was delicious! So much so that I was thinking about asking for another cup of it to dip my fries in. My friend got the bratwurst with sauerkraut and garlic mashed potatoes. It looked very good although not being a fan of bratwurst or sauerkraut, I opted to pass on trying her meal. Our service was excellent. Our server was very responsive to our needs and asked if we needed anything several times during our meal. When we wanted additional beer or water or to taste a beer, they were very accommodating and made it super easy. This bar and restaurant has a full restaurant inside as well as seating outside. It was too hot and too humid and we opted to sit inside at the bar. I could see coming back here with my dogs and sitting outside and enjoying a beautiful day, when it was cooler and having some beer and food. Even though this restaurant is kind of off the beaten path, I highly recommend visiting here. I can't wait to come back for more food and drink. Plus there's a place called Mom's apple pie, and it's next door and I highly recommend you make a visit there before heading home. read more

BLUF: After the first visit, I already wanted to return. Was it worth the drive? Yes! I usually wait after a few trips to a venue before reviewing, but I rushed the process and bought two meals instead of just one. Two was more better than one! The burgers were that good on this particular visit. Nice atmosphere on a post-holiday weekday, so it wasn't very crowded or noisy which was a plus. I'm hoping business will remain steady and strong, and the food stays tasty and a great deal when they have specials. We didn't try any menu items other than the burgers, but these tasty bundles of beef & fries hit the spot & satisfied the craving with flying colors. I haven't had a burger this good in this area for about five years. The burgers aren't ridiculously topped with a mountain of stuff so that it all oozes down your hand and arm, but they were topped with just enough extras to combine well with the patty. The patty oozed with flavor, however, plus, they're cooked to order. Just enough stuff on the burgers to allow a good squish together and ample bite from all the layers. What's the use of piling a burger sooo high so that you can't taste all of the flavors together, or chomping down on a thin patty with no flavor & skimpy extras? The only downside to the burgers was that they used iceburg lettuce rather than something a bit more nutritional or tasty like romaine or spinach. Anyway, that's a blip that was easy to dismiss once the burgers reached our line of sight. When our server brought the burgers out (served on actual dishware and not in a paper boat or wrapped in paper), they were a welcome mouthwatering sight. Can't vouch for any beverages here, but they had a good tasty-sounding selection. As with everything everywhere around here these days, regular prices are a little steep, so if you're able to catch a special, I definitely recommend that lucky find. And our server? Fantastic! Polite, welcoming, helpful, and on the ball! This was a great Facebook find & I look forward to visiting again soon & in the warmer months to sit outside. read more

After searching online for a German restaurant in the Herndon area for a half hour, we found More Better, a 30 mile drive away. We were not disappointed. Wife had chicken schnitzel and I had Jaegerschnitzel. Portions are very satisfying and most tasty. Beer selection was admirable. Staff was very attentive and pleasant. Atmosphere was a pub. Located inside a complex with Mom's Apple Pie, an arts center, and a winery, it's a fun spot. Here's our experience: 1) Food: Out of our group of nine, some loved our food and others didn't. My short rib grilled cheese was good (and messy). The frickles (pickle chips) were great! However, the burger and fish sandwich were just meh. 2) Drinks: They have a large beer and cocktail menu. My friend enjoyed her Manhattan. 3) Service: It's tough in the restaurant business so know service is slow due to being under staffed. Factor that in and be patient. read more

Nice German-ish restaurant. Inside is beer hall style and then there is outdoor seating around the parking lot. Food wise there are some German classics like bratwurst, jagerschnitzel, and schnitzel. Plus they have some German beers Aventinus Weizen-Doppelbock and Weihenstephan Dunkel. But it's not all Deutschland all the time. Fish and chips and the hummus platter are good looking non-German food options. They have a couple of USA craft brews, including local favorite Suns Out Hops Out from Solace Brewing. I had the bratwurst sandwich. The brat itself was perfectly seasoned and grilled. The sauerkraut and mustard were great. Very tangy. The side of German potato salad isn't really my thing, but it did taste good. Service was excellent and prices reasonable. Will be back for sure. Want to check out the brunch. read more

The food was good as always...but the service, absolutely trash. The wait staff was kind but we waited for three hours. At first when we got there we were given a buzzer and told to wait 30-35 minutes. One hour later we sent one member of our party to the front and we come to find out the buzzer ended up not going off. This was meant to be a brunch at 11 but we're in the car heading back at 2:30. We will NOT be returning on mother's day ever again. This took all day and tables with family arriving after us were served well before us. We didn't even bother ordering our favorite dessert and this totally drained the whole family's mood for the rest of the day. My mom is on the way home with us looking out of the window sadly as her gf burger did not fulfill expectations. Another add on to this crappy day was the whole table finished the food when one member of the party just received their food. And a high allergy member of the table received their food with French fries all over the plate after specifically stating highly allergic to French fries. As I stated the food was splendid but I would highly recommend not even thinking about this place on mother's day. read more

Parking lot but signs are a little confusing. Where we parked, we had to walk around the outside area to get to the restaurant. Outside is wait to be seated and indoors is seat yourself. We sat at the bar and ordered a brown Ale and the raspberry sour. For our food, we ordered the Hangover and a side of fruit. Bartenders were friendly and we got our food pretty quickly. This is breaking my heart. I love love love this place. Or rather it was great a year ago. Beer selection is still superb. Outdoor seating is still available but still the dusty gravel with food scraps on the ground vs grass or frankly even pavement. Sadly staff shortages are clearly having an impact as we had to wait 20 minutes to get in despite empty tables. I'm not in the biz but maybe offer bonuses or whatever is necessary for known peak days. The tacos were good but you get 2 for more than $15. But hey fries. I ordered the Reuben which I had last year and was a monster then . Not sure what happened but my Reuben this time was a sad shadow of what I had last time. Consistency is key to existence in the restaurant biz. McDonald's is a good example of that. Not saying they are good but you know what you will get. Rolling the dice, hoping it will be the same is not how I want to order food. I'll go back this summer with my fingers tightly crossed. Probably. read more

I really wanted to like this place more. Its got a great biergarten feel to it, and a really nice outdoor area. But the experience started off on a sour note when the server insisted we sit at an outdoor table without on the umbrellas- despite there being a half dozen open tables with umbrellas available, then trying to give us some excuse why we couldn't sit at one of the other ones. Was just rather rude and off putting. The server was friendly and food came out relatively quickly. My jaegerschniztel was OK- the mushroom sauce needed way more seasoning to be authentic. Fries were OK at best. The kids hamburger was pretty sad. Sadly it is a not a place we will be coming back to. read more
