Met my mother there for dinner and I love that there is ample parking as it's a plaza. They sat me very fast. Granted I had made a reservation through the button on Google, which was very easy and they weren't full, but still service was fast. Waitress came right away and asked me what I wanted to drink and brought the table water and a soda for me. All the food we had was great so I was tempted to order the cheesecake for dessert. If the food at a place is just ok, I avoid the cheesecake as this can often ruin the experience for me as I love cheesecake and it is often not great at restaurants. Well here it was great. A bit more caramel drizzle than I would have wanted but still the cheesecake itself tasted great. I don't know how often I will come here as it's a bit out of the way for me, but I will definitely keep it in mind when I'm nearby.

Calamari "fries"; thicker and chewier than standard calamari and full of flavor! So good.
Laura F.

Had a really nice meal here before a movie. Our waitress was super sweet and made my son feel at home. The food was delicious. When the calamari came out, a different waitress who brought it out immediately noticed it wasn't the normal amount, so she mentioned she would bring us another on the house which was an unexpected kind gesture. Our assigned waitress came by a few minutes later and noticed the kitchen had made a small mistake on my son's meal so she had them remake it and we really appreciated that too! The food and drinks were enjoyable, but the service is what sets this place apart. Will definitely be back.

Mussels and tacos

While I do think the food is good, I just don't think it's worth the $$$ tag. For the area and vibe here it's just not worth the expensive price tag to be honest. The place doesn't get packed and the drinks were mediocre. It just feels like a tavern in the square but for double the amount of money. Parking is easy and service was good but ehh don't think I'd come back

Blondie Sundae snd Cinnamon Roll Banana Bread

My husband and I had a delightful date night at this restaurant last night. I had made reservations in advance since it was my first time there. Our reservation was for 7:30, but we arrived a bit early and were promptly seated. We sought a casual yet elegant dining experience, and the restaurant's laid-back vibe immediately put us at ease. Our table was situated by the open-concept kitchen, allowing us to witness the culinary magic unfold. Our server was exceptional. Although I can't recall his name, he had a really cool mullet and an great attitude. His helpful recommendations guided my choices and enhanced my overall dining experience. He even complimented me on selecting his favorites, which I must admit, were all incredibly delicious. We started with oysters and jumbo shrimp, which were super fresh. I went with their butcher's block choice of petite filet with mash and green beans, and I got Brussels sprouts on the side. I told my husband that if I died last night, I wouldn't even be mad because at least I had an amazing meal before I went, lol. The filet literally melted in my mouth. The mash was so creamy and perfect. I also got the Groth Cab wine, per our server's recommendation when I asked for a good wine to have with steak. I left wanting an entire bottle of that wine!! My husband had the haddock tacos, which he said were super flavorful, and he mentioned the guacamole was super fresh despite not being a huge guac person. We decided to be gluttonous and each get our own dessert, and boy was that the right choice. I got the cinnamon roll bread pudding, which was unreal and remained super hot the entire time I was eating it. My husband got the blondie with a mountain of ice cream on top, and I will say mine was better with his ice cream, lol. The blondie in the ice cream dessert wasn't great, but if that's our only complaint, I'd say that's a win. As for the atmosphere I feel like I couldn't put my finger on what the vibe of the place was decor-wise. It seemed kinda eclectic in the sense that it conveyed a variety of styles that didn't seem super cohesive together. It's giving casual Maine nautical vibes but also rustic farmhouse that's somewhat fancy, but then there's TVs and shuffleboard in the front. The restaurant definitely gave a family vibe, and it seemed like there was a good amount of families there, but I really enjoyed it for a casual date night. Overall, though, we had an amazing time with amazing service, and we will definitely be back.

Prosecco, perfectly chilled
Deedrah B.

Solid choice! I came here the other night around 7pm for a couple drinks. Bar was open seating so I grabbed a spot there and ordered a glass of Prosecco. I also ordered one shrimp cocktail and one oyster. They came out pretty quick (as I would expect) and were just what I had been craving. It was nice to be able to order a la carte. Bartenders and waitstaff were very friendly and attentive. The entire place had a good welcoming vibe/atmosphere and it was pretty busy, I would definitely come back here!

Oysters were fresh and delicious

The restaurant is nice. The service was good, but the food was very salty! This restaurant has a lot of potential but the chef should taste their food before serving. Otherwise no other complaints. Not sure we'd go back.

Great Road Kitchen. The salad was excellent!

Stopped at Great Road Kitchen prior to a concert at Groton Hill Music Center, with my elderly mother who was in a wheelchair. The host and wait staff were extremely welcoming and accommodating. At 94, mom is not a big eater, so she ordered the salad with nuts, dried fruit, and goat cheese. It was perfect, and we saved half for lunch the next day. I ordered the hummus and pita app, which was great because mom was able to have a little starch to go with her salad, and I enjoyed the freshness of the dish. I also had three choice oysters, each from a different place in Mass. Wow, I mean WOW! Best oysters I have ever had, presented in an attractive dish on ice with sauce and horseradish. My Smashburger was good, and my cocktail was nice. However, the stars of the show were the oysters. If you like oysters, you cannot beat this place for freshness, presentation, and oyster knowledge! The prices were reasonable, and although it was a little loud for someone like my mother, it was a normal, busy restaurant ambience. I am still thinking about those oysters, and will be back to try more!

Scallop and pulled pork pasta
Ally C.

Not sure why this place doesn't have a higher rating! My family and I can't stop recommending it. We went for my sisters birthday and started off with some drinks, while the cocktail menu was small all the drinks we got were great! We started with mussels and pulled pork sliders. The sliders were so juicy and had a great slaw on them. My parents loved the mussels and the sauce was so good we had to get extra bread to dip in it. I got the scallop and pulled pork pasta and the waitress was not lying when she said it was the best thing on the menu! It was so good with a little spice in the sauce, just creamy enough too. My sister got the steak frites and loved them and my mom raved about the salmon. Since it was a birthday we ended with a small sundae and it was HUGE! Plenty for 4 of us. I am so sad I don't remember our waitresses name but she was the sweetest lady! So kind and personable, she had great recommendations!

It's quintessencial central Mass. bistro dining, where the waitress is the bartender, the maitre d' is the owner, the empire and mid century china is mismatched but matches the food that is presented on the dishes, and where that food is delicious. Many, but not all, items on the menu are gf, several are vegetarian, and one main and one dessert are vegan. We tried the well-balanced "Red Skies at Night" cocktail and would have it again. We also tried some of the new dishes that are rotating through the menu. The gf seasonal watermelon and feta salad is a particularly savory example of this summer favorite. Crab salad with avocado, hard-boiled egg, and real remoulade sauce, was a nice interpretation (served on a period luncheon plate). The main course artichoke spinach cheesecake was outstanding. Among the desserts, the gf chocolate mousse, which was served in an old-fashioned metal sundae dish and garnished with a fresh violet and real whipped cream, was rich and delicious. We will be back.

We expressed disappointment, but they then checked with the Kitchen staff and said sure if you order right away we would be happy to serve you. We were thrilled! We ordered drinks and had food, and it was all wonderful. We loved the speakeasy, vibe, the custom cocktails, and the impressive and carefully curated alcohol options at the bar. The service was wonderful and friendly. We thought, oh great, this is going to be our go to place in town, we'll be here frequently! Our next visit was completely different. I called ahead of time to check on availability, mention that we prefer to sit at the bar, and confirm that they do not take reservations at the bar, but that there were tables available. So we had it in. When we arrived, we clearly saw at least four open seats at the bar. But we were informed that those seats were reserved. I mentioned that I had just called to confirm that there were seats available and confirmed that bar seats could not be reserved. Well, that was perplexing. And there was no genuine apology, no mention that they might be sorry about the confusion, let us see what we can do... Ultimately, the hostess, did checked with some folks and found that there was a table that we could have. So we sat down for our meal. The service this night was decidedly different, and we couldn't help feeling like we'd forced our way into a private club that we really weren't welcomed at. That was a few months ago, and we haven't been back since.

Small-ish outfit near the golf course with about a dozen tables and a long bar with a few TV…read morescreens. Beer selections are minimal but just varied enough that you'll find something to your liking, whether mainstream or craft. The food menu is much deeper, nailing most of the pub food classics. As a burgers and wings guy, that was my focus, but there's enough greenery to satisfy my vegetarian wife too. GPH Burger: A well sourced blend, made into a patty of good thickness, grilled over an open flame, and housed in a potato bun with a generous allotment of toppings. Beautiful presentation, and most importantly, the flavor of the beef came through, never getting lost. You can order pink or no pink; I went pink, and on my first visit they nailed the temperature, color, and juiciness to go along with the crusty exterior. Good seasoning, and very enjoyable grill flavor. One of the best burgers I've had this year. Tried it again on a second visit, again requesting pink, but: a) not pink or juicy, and b) no flame grill flavor. Still a decent burger-- mostly because the addition of some nicely chewy and very strongly cured bacon picked up some of the slack. Third try, a repeat of the first, so two out of three ain't bad. Smashburger: Solid enough, though not as pronounced of surface crispness as a proper smashburger. Fries: Hand-cut, plentiful, dark, crispy, and just droopy enough. There's no salt on the table, but these were salted perfectly. Ketchup is an off brand, with a little more tartness than the standard, but it worked fine. Onion Rings: The thick ring, thick batter kind, and very crunchy. All depends on whether you like that style. Hot Dog: The menu lists them with fries included, but if you're already getting a burger, you can add one on without getting the extra fries. Toasted New England flat-sided bun, very juicy, grilled wiener, and toppings you can choose. Chili is a $3 add-on, but note there are beans included. I enjoyed mine and would get it again without the chili. Wings: Went Buffalo once, somewhat crisp, somewhat tender, nice sauce, with spices and seasonings, but not what I'd call Buffalo and not much coverage. These are baked, then fried, so missing a little something.went sweet chili on the next visit, and these were closer to the listed flavor and a little closer to wings that quench a wings craving.

If I rated Luna only on the tacos I wouldn't be impressed. I've been spoiled by the many taquerias…read morein Florida I've been to, every single one of which had better ones in my experience. But what brings up my rating and gets me coming back (5 times and counting) is the variety, including more traditional Mexican dishes than the standard Tex-Mex, the very good drinks, the ambience, and great service. On my first visit the first thing I noticed is the "Luna" branding. The name and logo are on everything: the plates, the waiters' aprons, moon stencils on the chair backs, and more. This doesn't detract from the overall look and feel of the place, elegant but not stuffy. One more "luna" allusion: instead of chips with salsa they serve a large round crispy flat bread, presented vertically and obviously meant to suggest a full moon. Many people would probably prefer chips but that's a Tex-Mex thing so this is actually more authentic. And you won't fill up as easily munching on broken-off pieces of the "moon bread" as you would tortilla chips. The taco entree is 3 tacos, several varieties available, served with refried beans. I've had the chorizo and the Al Pastor. Mix and match not allowed unfortunately. They are both ok, and the tortillas are I believe made in house. The chorizo spicing was unimpressive. My chief "complaint" if that's the right word, is they are too simple: just the protein, some chopped onions, and cilantro. In my memory of great tacos I've had in the past there are a multitude of flavors and ingredients: onions prepared 2 or even 3 ways, sautéed and raw peppers, fresh avocado slices, etc. None of that here. Specialty sauces aren't offered by default but are provided on request. Two were brought to my table, one red and one green, both very hot. In small bowls so I don't know if they are home-made or commercial. I like a lot of sauce and always run out so next time I'll ask for a "double portion" and we'll see how that goes. The wife has had the beef fajitas. In my opinion the meat was overly marinated, with the wrong consistency and a flavor I don't expect in a fajita. And the vegetables were cooked with the meat so their flavor was muted. I'd pass on that. The Pollo Mole Poblano (chicken mole) was decent but there wasn't enough sauce. As was the enchiladas 3 ways (one each with chicken, beef, and cheese). Most entrees are served with a side of rice and refried beans, the latter served in a small fried tortilla cup. Portion sizes are reasonable. On the traditional Mexican side I've tried two meat-heavy entrees: Borrego Matitito's (marinated lamb shank with chili pepper sauce), and Chamorro's (a similar dish but made from pork shank, and different seasonings). I liked both but preferred the lamb, and the portion was larger too: enough for two meals. In the appetizer section I've had Pulpo Rasurado (octopus in salsa negra with red onions, cucumber, avocado, and radishes). A beautiful presentation and perfectly prepared (octopus can be tough and this was not). Also the Oysters Rockerfeller (not Mexican, I know). This could have been great but unfortunately was under-grilled so the cheese wasn't browned and bubbling. The table-side finishing treatment by the waiter with his hand torch wasn't enough either. Maybe he got impatient or maybe the butane was running out. I'd try it again though; it might have been an anomaly. Both these appetizer portions were huge, almost enough for a meal in itself. All the cocktails I've tried (several mescal concoctions and margaritas) have been tasty and seemed to have adequate alcohol content. Their gimmick here is all cocktails arrive bubbling and steaming like a witch's brew. I think it's from dry ice? That doesn't change the taste but may help to keep them cold and it's fun to watch. I've seen this before but usually it's reserved for one or two of the high-end specialties, not every cocktail. Nevertheless, the prices are in the normal range for cocktails these days, not excessive by that standard. Service has always been friendly and flawless. Desserts: We've tried two: The Pan de Elote is a cornbread cake served with ice cream and sauce, flambéed by the waiter at the table. And the churros: fried dough sticks covered with cinnamon, stuffed like cannoli, served with two sauces for dipping (chocolate and caramel), and served in a whimsical wheeled contraption resembling a food cart in miniature. The Pan de Elote is my favorite of the two but the churros were good too and the portion size was enormous! So until I can get back to Florida for some truly great Mexican I'm grateful to have Luna as an option.
