    Chocolate box

A chocolate and gelato cafe, they are a popular treat as they're the only real shop in the mall for desserts like this (a rolled ice cream shop probably would do well?), so little kids and adults line up. While you wait your turn, you can peruse the gift chocolates or the pack-by-piece ($13.50 a pound about) as well as chocolate bars of all kinds of sizes, and you pay at the counter. They also have some coffee and other drinks available in case you need a kick start. Staff was friendly, came to check on the items. The box set that looks like a book is cool, but the pieces do move around inside (the sample one had chocolate all a-kimbo and didn't look that good inside, though the outside was a cool container). No seating, go outside to the shared common space otherwise. Will see how they do once the Eataly opens up, but they are a bit expensive so it's a once-in-a-while treat. Cone or cup, choices.

Probably one of the best gelato spots I've been too. It's truly delicious! Their chocolate is amazing! Plenty of choco bars in the store that you can buy as well. We went there with a family so were able to try a few different flavors. Service is great! The interior decor is really cute although there is no sit down place. Highly recommended to try!

After trying Venchi off of Union Square in the city, I was excited to check this one out. It is definitely much smaller and doesn't have the same aesthetic but the gelato was still good. I went with the dairy free option this time and they did not disappoint. The one difference I did notice that the gelato that as soft and it made it hard for the employee to scoop it out. It was almost too frozen. It also made it hard to eat from the cone without it toppling over, but thankfully they gave me a cup. You get to pick your choice of chocolate (milk or dark) that they usually place on top, but because it was too frozen, they left it on the side for me. The employees were very nice. Overall, it is a bit pricey but good gelato. If you want more an experience, checkout the one in the city.

I decided to treat my family to some gelato and it was a small fortune, but worth it. The service is great and the gelato is excellent. If it's your first time, they'll ask you what size you want, cone or cup, and if you want chocolate syrup as the base. After paying, they will ask you for the flavors you want. The regular is $8 and you can get up to two flavors. We all enjoyed and it was very decadent. A nice treat!

The BEST GELATO! Located inside Short Hills Mall- the perfect treat to treat yourself with during a long day of shopping. There's plenty of seating and tables next to Venchi There's usually a long line when I go (for good reason), but this time I managed to be the first one in line. They have the creamiest, most decadent gelato I've ever had! My fave flavor is the tiramisu. They have several size options, but I've found the baby (1 scoop) is more than enough to get a good amount of gelato. You can also customize your scoop by adding nuts, chocolate, etc. So delicious and creamy!! Highly recommend!

This Venchi couldn't be in a better location. It is nestled inside the Short Hills Mall and always busy. We were in a line, behind 7 other customers, and we could see why. Not only does Venchi provide one of the most creamy gelatos I've ever tasted, but they can also present it in a cup, lined with different sweets/nuts. I don't know any other place that does this. The eatery also has other items for sale (candy, merch, chocolate). If you're in the mall, stop by Venchi. You will enjoy top notch gelato and leave a similar five star review.

So we were in Short Hills Mall and noticed a huge lien to enter Venchi. Obviously India's to check it out. Super glad I did!!! The very best ice cream I have ever had!! I opted for the baby cup (1 scoop) and it was absolutely perfect! I had the chocolate swirl with vanilla and hazelnut_ don't recall the name (started with a C) AMAZing!! Super rich

Stumbled upon this place when the grandparents wanted to buy the kids some ice cream. Those kids got a real treat. While we were waiting in line, we got some sample of the milk chocolate spread, it was amazing. The mango gelato was so good that my toddler who normally wants to be fed grabbed the spoon and kept scooping on his own. My brother got the dark chocolate flavor and it was pretty amazing. It's not cheap, a regular cup is pretty small and cost $6.75 but it is quality. As you see the decor is fancy.

The fresh cones dipped in chocolate with the added chocolate pieces make this gelato perfect. Honestly loved the cone more than the actual gelato.

Slow and overpriced. Ordered a 'large' which is three scoops. Guy gave my daughter two scoops and says one of the scoops was big.

The French Toast bites were a delightful surprise. People seemed to enjoy shishito peppers, I'll take their word as I am not a fan of peppers. My Willow Burger was a taste sensation. It was pilled high with the topping of onion, avocado, cheddar cheese, tomato, lettuce and a tangy chipotle sauce. Yum. Worth the trip even if you are not attending the theatre.

I was with a party of six and at 11AM, we were all in a breakfast mood. We tried and all liked the Brioche French Toast, the Mushroom Thyme omelet and the Shakshuka. The Lemon Ricotta Pancakes with lemon curd and blueberries just didn't hang together. (Only four dishes for six people because two of us ordered the omelet and two the French toast). Overall the food was very good and the portions generous. Beverages were fine. The service was a bit spotty, possibly because we had two waiters who seemed to be tripping over each other. It shouldn't take three requests to get a glass of water. But overall, a place I'd try again.

My wife goes there fairly often; I, on the other hand, only go occasionally. Over the years, I had always been happy with the quality of the products they sell, but lately the pricing has gotten completely out of hand. We were there this past Saturday for breakfast. We shared a shakshuka and had two mocha coffees in the table area, and my wife also ordered a salmon toast. That was it. Somehow, this breakfast cost as much as four meals we had at an Israeli restaurant in NYC the very next day -- and, by the way, those meals were far superior to anything I've ever had at Liv. While at the NYC restaurant, we noticed they charge only $7 for fresh-squeezed orange juice -- in a larger portion than Liv's $12 glass of OJ. Their shakshuka is also only $16, compared with Liv's $22. And this place is in the heart of NYC, not in suburbia New Jersey. I also used to love getting Liv's cookies and croutons, but those have become expensive beyond reason as well. Two packs of cookies, one crouton, and a mocha coffee came to over $50. Seriously? At this point, it is clear to me that the owner's strategy is to keep raising prices to see how much he can get away with. Well, as far as I'm concerned, I'm done. I will no longer be patronizing this kind of price gouging.

Our late dinner worked fine as the mostly millennial and Gen-Z crowd started thinning shortly after we arrived. Millburn has always been a draw for neighboring townsfolk in search of a meal out. I remember this foodie town from 25 years ago, when its pizza, kosher and diner offerings were top notch. It seems to have upgraded its food scene several notches since my last visit so many years ago. Pure nostalgia for me which made for a very flavorful evening. TOP TIP: Street parking in this part of town is a hassle and the local cops keep a sharp eye for illegally parked cars and inebriated drivers. So park further away from the center of town where you are more likely to snag a legal spot on a busy night.
