I had been wanting to try Liv Breads for so long, especially after all of the amazing reviews I had read and the positive feedback I had heard from family. I finally made it there the other day and was shocked at how substantial the place was. It was no small bakery, but was a full cafe and gourmet shop as well. Though I did not try their savory sandwiches, breads, salads, or spreads at that time, I did purchase some of their sweets. First, the Chocolate Rugelach were some of the best I have had. The delicate, flaky cookies were like little croissants and were ribboned with a rich chocolate spread. Their version also had hints of vanilla, which I really enjoyed. I also got one of their large Chocolate Chip Cookies, which was thin, but packed with gooey bittersweet and semi-sweet chocolate. It also had a light sprinkling of Maldon sea salt on the top. It was super decadent! Liv Breads exceeded my expectations, and I look forward to revisiting to try many more of their items. read more

Best coffee and pastries for sure. Prices? Not great! But, it is superior quality, and in a nice neighborhood (and it's 2026), so that shouldn't come as a surprise. The systems they have in place are fascinating. It feels like they're trying to reinvent the wheel when it comes to ordering/picking up, and it's super inefficient. We were in the neighborhood on a Sunday morning and decided to give this Liv's a try. There was a line out the door, most of which was for the grab-and-go bakery area. Everything looked so delicious! We wanted to dine in and followed the signs to the seating area which was also bustling. We were seated across from each other at a long communal table, which is fine, but our neighbors seemed offput by having to move their coats and bags off the chairs. We were sitting so tightly together that I could barely shrug my jacket off without elbowing my neighbors. We waited and looked around for about 10 minutes. When no server approached us, we realized we needed to get up and order at the back counter. This was not made clear. Orange Juice for me (fresh squeezed - $12), iced coffee for him, the Spreads and Breads, and the Schnitzel Sandwich. We also split a small cinnamon bun. Our bill was nearly $80. Yowza. I will say that everything we ordered was good. We had things to do so we essentially ate and left. We were in and out in under 45 minutes. This is definitely a locals kind of place. I wasn't expecting this place to be as impressive as it was. My husband suggested Liv's Bakery, and I'm really glad we decided to check it out. It looks like everything is made in-house, and we especially appreciated that their bread is sourdough. They offer a great variety of breads and baked goods. We kept it simple and tried a gluten-free hazelnut chocolate cake, a chocolate mousse, a chocolate chip cookie, and a latte that came with a small espresso cookie on the side. What a great place for meeting up w/ friends or doing work! The staff are so friendly, and I love that the high top counter offers a shady, open view of the street in front of the store. The servers are very attentive. Both times that I have done work at the counter, the server would take away my plate soon after I was done eating I have tried the chocolate rugelach and the chocolate chip cookie, and both are delicious. I've tried the matcha latte, and it's ok. The maple syrup latte is great and is now my go-to drink. read more

On of my favorite coffee shops in town . Everything here is amazing made with quality ingredients. Halva croissant had a creamy chocolate espresso sesame filling which was decadent . Butter croissant was flaky , but would have been better served warm . I love the vibe here with bright and sunny windows , making it a perfect way to spend a leisure morning enjoying coffee with the cookie they serve with it. I get refills of the coffee and sit back and soak in the aroma of their baked goods and the visual indulgence of people enjoying various treats from their menu . I used to love this place, but it has honestly become a crime scene. The prices are criminal, to say the least. My wife goes there fairly often; I, on the other hand, only go occasionally. Over the years, I had always been happy with the quality of the products they sell, but lately the pricing has gotten completely out of hand. We were there this past Saturday for breakfast. We shared a shakshuka and had two mocha coffees in the table area, and my wife also ordered a salmon toast. That was it. Somehow, this breakfast cost as much as four meals we had at an Israeli restaurant in NYC the very next day -- and, by the way, those meals were far superior to anything I've ever had at Liv. While at the NYC restaurant, we noticed they charge only $7 for fresh-squeezed orange juice -- in a larger portion than Liv's $12 glass of OJ. Their shakshuka is also only $16, compared with Liv's $22. And this place is in the heart of NYC, not in suburbia New Jersey. I also used to love getting Liv's cookies and croutons, but those have become expensive beyond reason as well. Two packs of cookies, one crouton, and a mocha coffee came to over $50. Seriously? At this point, it is clear to me that the owner's strategy is to keep raising prices to see how much he can get away with. Well, as far as I'm concerned, I'm done. We tried an assortment of things: buttered and chocolate croissant (mouth watering and baked to perfection), the cheese focaccia (OMG) - this did have a little spice from the garlic and infused Thai chili, then we finished with a vanilla latte and cappuccino (both with oatmilk) and let me tell you - PERFECT! I can't believe this is my fourth review for Liv.. looks like I have been reviewing them for the last 6 years. I'm happy to say that I have not been disappointed! Their quality holds up over time. Most recently I got a pizza after school for my kiddos- we ate it up so fast I didn't get a chance to take a picture before it was half gone. The crust had great texture and bite.. the cheese and sauce perfect. The pizza is great value too, under $20 for a pie. We also sampled a tahini sable cookie- it was so good we bought a bag. Yes.. $14 is a little steep! I know. But they just melt in your mouth- they're so good. High marks for quality, it's generally pricey but in my book it's worth it. Thank you Liv for your consistency over the years- I hope people stop by for your pizza because it's so good! Liv Breads has been on my list of places to try for a while since I've passed by it so many times and I'm so glad I finally got a chance to! It had way more to offer than I expected at a simple bakery, there were so many prepared baked goods for a quick grab and go and even a sit down area with table service. I generally do enjoy the bakery more than the restaurant. So was eager to eat at the restaurant. TLDR not a fan of the challah. We shared the chai latte that was poured in a big mug must have at least 10 oz. It is served with a delectable butter cookie. A delicate, buttery and melt-in-your-mouth throughout. First the star baked item. The $25 CHOCOLATE BABKA. I'd be willing to pay for again. Bring it home or bring it over for a gathering. The chocolate is like a wet gooey texture and it is consistent inside and out. You won't regret it. The restaurant has a self service chill water station. The mushroom and spinach omelette is super pricey for how small it was. It was served with sourdough slice, garlic chili oil , yogurt and some sort of oil green pepper dip? I believe it was $17? Unless they're using premium organic ingredients. The shakshouka is pricey too. Served with hummus and yogurt. Baguette and challah. I still highly recommend this place. Very popular bakery! The Blueberry Financier is off the charts. Buttery, fresh fruity, moist cake like with a crusted bottom, it looks like a truncated cone (yes I looked it up and that's the correct term for this shape for a cylinder that's slightly larger base on one end, LOL). I had to go back a second time because it's that good! There's a lemon poppy version too that is also yum. The Chocolate Graham Babka is a dense braided circular loaf with chocolate smears mixed in. It wasn't too sweet, maybe not sweet enough for me. Babka fans should enjoy this interation. The Expresso Chocolate Chip cookies were crispy like a familiar Southampton, NY favorite that you see in grocery stores. There was a strong coffee flavor with each bite. I also got the Iced Chai but I'd skip this in the future. The flavor was too watered down. If I do come back I'll ask for an expresso hit in the chai. There's a pretty steady stream of customers for good reason. Both times I visited I was on a line with 10-12 people ahead of me. The staff do move quickly to fulfill your order and get you on your way quickly. If customers did the same, ordered attentively and decisively it would move faster as well :-). i LOVE liv breads! stopped by today to study and couldn't believe i hadn't written a review for the amount of times i've been here. i've definitely tried a lot on the menu: ranging from the chocolate graham babka to croissant omelette (pictured). the chocolate babka and chocolate chip cookie are definitely my two favorites items from this bakery. when i went to study today i got a coffee with almond milk (you get free refills if u stay instead of to-go!), croissant omelette, and chocolate chip cookie. the regular coffee is standard but i was only j going for the cheapest coffee since all i cared about was the caffeine. i love how every drink comes with a free little cookie. today was a ginger snap (delicious)! i have had other coffees from liv and i would say the others r much tastier but again i was just going for caffeine today. the croissant omelette was amazing. the croissant was perfectly toasted and the omelette was moist with delicious filling. the spread on the croissant was an amazing addition. the side of greens and tomatoes was great on the sandwich. overall, this is a cute space for studying or to meet some friends. you really can't go wrong with anything on this menu. my only qualm is the pricesmy cookie was 5.50 my sandwich was $14 and my coffee was $6. i will say the quality is great but i can't frequent here every day because of the pricing. there really isn't much service here except when you order at the counter. you clear your own plates. read more

I recently discovered Liv Breads and oh, I am so glad I did! For brunch I enjoyed the Shakshuka. I make it at home and it's a favorite. I ordered it many times at other restaurants and it was just meh. Here it was the perfect brunch entree. A vanilla latte was the perfect way to caffeinate my day. The chocolate graham babka is a Must! One of the best babka's I have ever had. I purchased two tins of the hamentashen. One for a gift and one to bring home. So, so good! Went in for their brunch, the place was crowded, food was over priced. The portions that were given were quite small for the price point. Everything tasted good, fresh. The girl at the counter was nice, patient, and very helpful. I did not feel comfortable there (which is very rare for me). As I was trying to walk in the door, I got shoved twice with people coming out. There are communal tables which can be quite chaotic. One group to one side of us did not want to move their jacket from an empty seat for us and the other group on the other side of us did not want to give us any extra space even though there was no one on their other side. The side of the bakery that was just to-go seemed to be less chaotic. I wouldn't recommend coming with a group for a sit down meal. read more

This place LIVes up to the hype! Sorry, no more puns, I promise. Everything from the space, to the bites to the coffee was incredible. The staff moved the line quickly and the team came around often to clear anything off of my table. My oat milk latte hit the spot on an afternoon when a little caffiene was very needed. I love when you can get your drink in a nice glass when you are staying, makes it justttt a little better. I also trying the rugelach, because I had never had one before and my Polish Jewish grandma was sending me signs to finally give it a go. Delicious!! Loved that it was so dense and packed with chocolate. It was so much more decadent than a croissant and I can't wait for another. I also gave their bread a try and it's definitely very good sourdough. If I lived closer, this would be in the rotation for the weekly loaf. Let's just say I now plan my errands around how frequently I can "happen to be near" Liv Bakery. My family is OBSESSED with the country loaf which disappears in minutes. The palmiers were just what the doctor ordered when my dad was in the hospital. The chocolate rugelach was unlike any I've ever had. The ficelle with brie and apricot jam was wonderful, and a caprese sandwich was huge and excellent. Every single thing is delicious. There were a few gluten free options but I didn't go for them. You have to ask staff what they have because things aren't labeled as gluten free so you wouldn't know they have them. I got a latte, which came with a cookie (not gf). I have the cookie to my mom :) Coffee was good, just pricey. Actually, everything was more expensive than what I am used to. At least $1 more for coffees. $20 for an omelette with vegetables. There is indoor and outdoor seating and parking outside. Would I go there again? Probably not because I can't eat bread (their main attraction) and there are plenty of other coffee options nearby (hopefully cheaper). If you like, and can eat bread, I recommend it. read more

While visiting my friends on the East Coast over the holidays, they brought me for breakfast to Liv Breads and I was absolutely blown away. After placing our order at the counter, we went and found a place to sit. To start, I had ordered a classic vanilla latte with oat milk. It was so smooth and creamy and had the perfect subtle sweetness to it. For my food, I could not resist ordering the shakshuka. It was served with not one but two entire mini loaves of bread! One was a harder baguette while the other was a very soft, almost challah-like bread. The sauce had the perfect spice level to it and the entire dish from start to finish was phenomenal. To finish off, I ordered one of their large chocolate chip cookies. When I say this is one of the best chocolate chip cookies I have ever had in my life, I mean it. We had passed by this store a few months ago and saw it had a heavy flow of customers. Today we noticed that they had expanded and added an extension for guests to dine in. In the summer they have a few tables outdoor. There was a line to enter today as well. The line moved fairly well. They do have a QR code where you can order ahead and skip making the line. My coffee was one of the best I have had. It was creamy and you could taste the coffee flavor. I paired it with a caprese sandwich which was also good. It tasted fresh. My son had a chocolate croissant. He has tasted many in different bakeries. He said this one was very tasty. I'll have to try it next time to verify. read more

It is so easy to get in trouble in this place with all the goods they have. They are a bit pricey, but I haven't had anything here that was disappointing and I haven't been here in a while since they did the extension. It is nice to be able to have the option to enjoy breakfast indoors or outside weather permitting. They have a large variety of pastries , breakfast sandwiches and breads to choose from . Awesome place all around and a close stop after hiking nearby at South Mountain Trail. I got a tuna melt which was delicious. But the chocolate rugelach was incredible, and I highly recommend it. I had one there and got three more to go! Apparently it's the same makeup as the larger babka, just smaller. So if you don't want to eat an entire babka, it's a better option. The service was also great. Everyone was kind and helpful without being forced and it was a nice surprise on top of the amazing food. It's a bit pricey but good, high quality food is always worth it. who doesnt like freshly baked bread? its bread and pastry paradise here at Liv and i especially enjoy their croissant - the chocolate specifically! its flaky, buttery and not too sweet! I hear the babkas are a must but i have yet to try them. They do look pretty enticing though. We've also tried their lattes here prior which was good but they recently only serve it until 2pm. From the outside, you see the line is so long but it is so worth the wait. Upon walking in, you can smell and see beautiful breads against the wall and of course the long line of people but it does move relatively quick :) They have amazing coffee, breads and pastries. I recently got the Olive sourdough bread, regular croissant, almond croissant and the chocolate croissant. Quality ingredients, great texture and I appreciated the fact that the pastries wasn't super sweet. I love how they give you a little treat bite when you order a coffee.
