The most delicious red sauce on the planet will make your mouth water We had rigatoni bolognese, linguini puttanesca and, chicken and eggplant Milanese with a side of rigatoni. All spectacular. I am giving one star just to write this review. This place is a ZERO. I went in today to pick up a large order that had been paid for. Right away, it was wrong. We asked for each container to be wrapped in plastic, and it was not. Now, this is Yonkers, which takes forever to get anywhere, so I left with only a partial order because I was told that was all. I was picking it up for my family and hadn't placed the order myself. I asked if it was everything because i had a full order list in a text, i was told yes thank you and goodbye. 10 minutes after leaving, I was informed that "I" forget the pizza in the order. It was never given to me. I traveled 10 minutes back to pick up COLD PIZZA, They didn't even make us new pies! Old cold, hard pizza! Now my other food is cold as well. Another 25 minutes, and I finally got this food home. It was flavorless, cold, just the worst. I know you know who this is. You owe my father a full refund for that horrible food. I like this place. Reason number one a slice here is $3.25. to be fair for the most part the rest of this area is saturated with overpriced "mehhhh" slices. The pizza is quality the sauce is kind of a savory more brindy quality...but it's NY pizza. there's a whole host of different things you can purchase here as well but the general notion is that its quality and quantity which is good because living in this entire area is over the top expensive. The fact they don't poach the customer deserves respect. Reason number 2 I've eaten here over the course of three decades and it's kept it a consistent formula. That's got to count for something. Reason number three the previous owner almost ran me down in an SUV on Allerton avenue and yes it was my fault I almost died but he hit the brakes. I've driven by this place countless times on central ave, but this was my first time grabbing a quick slice between meetings. Just tried a regular slice and was pleasantly surprised. Higher quality cheese than the Westchester usual, good flavor to the sauce, crisp crust with little flop, very large slice. 7.2 I would definitely try more slices and give the rest of the menu a shot for lunch. read more

I've been going here since I was a small kid and has always had a good experience. The pizzeria section is great for a quick slice and a cooled drink where orders come out quick, hot, and delicious. As for the restaurant section, it is a very comfortable environment and always nice to sit down and eat. Also, the workers are great. read more

The food is very good, especially the pasta dishes. All the employees are helpful and friendly except for one lady (my guess is she is in her 20s). I found out she is the owner's daughter who occasionally answers the phone to take orders. Given this fact, I would think she would be more grateful for customers supporting the family business. Tonight was my second interaction with her. I would think small businesses are happy to have customers, especially given the last year and a half with the pandemic. Maybe I am old fashioned but good customer service makes all the difference. I may get food from VD again since it is good, but wouldn't feel like I'm missing anything if I don't. There are lots of other good, local Italian food spots with better customer service who are happy to have customers. read more

Best BEST pizza!!!! Broccoli Rabe is something we order constantly and it's always fantastic- if they run out, the sautéed broccoli is also excellent. Salads are lovely- nice vinegary dressing. I'm being a little generous with stars this morning, I think. Truly, we've had hit and miss pizza here, but the other day it was a hit and I was able to remember all the other hits from one bite. If you're in the neighbourhood, it's worth a stop, but I couldn't call it a destination spot. I'd love to have given this place 5 stars. They have a wide variety of pizzas and similar menu items, all tasty and reasonably priced. Their online ordering system, however, is a mess. It rejects all credit cards you put in (we tried 3 credit cards across 2 credit card companies, and they were all rejected despite all actually working fine), so you can't pay online. Additionally, I arrived at the time I was scheduled to pick up my food and although the restaurant wasn't at all crowded, by food wasn't ready for another ten minutes. I would still return and try this spot again, but their online ordering is very unprofessional and I hope they fix it soon. read more

3.5 stars. Got the eggplant wrap. Eggplant was good and the wrap was a solid size (especially for the price). The biggest flaw was the amount of cheese. Wayyyyyy to much cheese in that wrap! If it we're up to me, I'd take out half the cheese and replace it with eggplant. On another note, the pizza is great. Ordered the salad pizza and was not unsatisfied, as the accompanying red wine vinigrette was a great addition! However, it was not quite as good as Avelino's salad pizza. We tried this restaurant out for the first time tonight ordered delivery. Quality of food was food. I liked that our dinner entrees came with a full size salad (and greens were fresh) and plentiful bread, though we couldn't finish it. The lobster ravioli was fairly good and the linguine with shrimp sauce was tasty (not to mention generous portions). Delivery time was fast, though that could have just been tonight. I took my elderly and disabled mother because the waitress reportedly did a great job the last time she went of taking care of her needs and accommodating her difficulties with short term memory and hearing. The same waitress was there and took our order. She was not at the top of her game this time i guess because she didnt bring us water and brought dressing on my mothers salad after she asked for it on the side. She brought one dish we ordered and the rest of our order she never put in (a calzone and soup) so when she left to make a delivery it never came. The other guy at the register had a crappy attitude too and was not really attending to us. When we asked him for our food after finishing the one dish that came he has to start the order all over again. He seemed annoyed that we were asking him for anything. I would not recommend this kind of service to anyone. Will the prices they charge you think they would put a little more money into updating this restaurant it looks like you're walking into 1960. I ordered a grilled chicken caesar salad for $16 and I was disappointed this was slathered in Caesar dressing the chicken was cooked good but it tasted like it was cooked prior and just reheated I did get a room slice of pizza with it but the whole thing set me back 20 bucks and I don't feel like I got the value for the money since I was sitting on a Formica table. I have three pizzerias in my own neighborhood, but I drive to Hartsdale for some great Italian food in this pizzeria/restaurant. I love the stafff here. They are all terrific and friendly. It's almost like going to friend's house for lunch or dinner. They have great lunch specials. Today I was in the mood for shrimp oreganata, but it wasn't on the lunch special menu, but they were nice enough to make the exception for me even though the lunch special menu clearly stated no substitutions. The shrimp here are jumbo, sweet and wild caught. Not that flavorless farm raised crap. You also get a choice of salad or pasta. I opted for the whole wheat pasta with marinara. I like their marinara. It's nice and mellow. Not too acidic. The best part is, it was only $10.95. What a bargain! read more
