Everything was fresh and flavorful. I ordered the Pork Chop Milanese and absolutely loved it -- the breading was perfectly crisp and seasoned just right. I also had a chance to try my wife's lobster ravioli, which was rich and delicious. The ambiance was comfortable and inviting, perfect for a special night out without feeling over-the-top. For dessert, we had cannolis with a light filling I hadn't tasted before -- not overly sweet, just smooth and really good. Our young Italian waiter was on top of his game all night. The food could have been better. The waitstaff was great, the service was great, the ambiance was great, but the food was not good. The cheese on the cheese pizza was runny and the dough was too doughy. Whether it was all undercooked or just made wrong, I don't know. But it could have been better. The chicken parmigiana - the chicken was too thin, either pounded too thin or sliced too thin. Being too thin, the fry on the breadcrumbs came out too hard and too crispy. The sauce on the chicken and the spaghetti tasted (no joke) like the sauce from a can of SpaghettiOs. And the pasta was DRENCHED in it. A bad chef is one that drowns pasta in bad sauce. The Mediterranean Salad with steak was a bare salad, drenched in dressing, with a puny sliced thin steak on the side. Not what was expected. All in all, food is what brings you to a restaurant. On Valentines, last night my husband both threw up multiple times afterwards. This is on top of very poor service (waiting 10+ to be greeted by a server and 20+ to pay the check) and very average tasting, small meals. There was no sense of service, timeliness or consideration. The last 30 minutes we didn't know who our server was.. we asked one random server for the check and another random server to cash us out after waiting for so long. Late lunch on a Wednesday, i was there better 2:30-3:00 so just a couple other customers. Service was very kind, speedy, and well done. Buffalo Mozzarella Tomato appetizer was very good. The cheese was the star, could have used slightly larger tomato, but i would order again. Could not decide on entree so went with two, why not....i was hungry. Truffle risotto was good, not the best I've ever had, but the flavor was there and it was good, i would order it again also. Chilean Sea bass with potatoes and vegetables was all very well prepared. Fish was simple, no sauce or anything, just a large piece of fish with crispy skin left on. I usually don't like the skin but this was really good. Everything else on the plate was well prepared. While the outdoor dining area is on the sidewalk every detail to make the patio into a pleasing place to dine has been added. Large planters surround and enclose the area along with plants and branded umbrellas on most tables throughout the patio. Heaters are also in abundance. If dining outdoors doesn't tickle your fancy, you have nice indoor dining options. There are two dining areas, the first light and airy with a very nice bar. The second area is a bit dimmer although the back wall is an atrium-style were you can easily view the outdoor gardens with a gazebo, ponds, wooden arched bridge and lots of greenery. La Botte has transferred the space that previously housed Chicago Uno Pizza. They did a fabulous renovation job with the space. The food quality matches the ambience. You can tell the staff is well trained and experienced which added to a very pleasant dining experience. They offer a variety of Italian American and American dishes but when the menu says Pasta Fresca, I'm choosing that. We started with a Prosciutto e Parmigiano. 24-month aged black label prosciutto di parma with 48-month aged parmigiano-reggiano. A few mixed olives and salad greens completed the board. It was a nice portion for two people along with some fresh bread and focaccia served when you sit down. I asked the waiter what his preference was between two dishes. He recommended the Garganelli with wild mushrooms, black truffle sauce, touch of cream. SOLD, that's what I wanted. My friend ordered the potato gnocchi, speak, artichoke, shallots, in a white wine light cream sauce. Both portions were hearty enough that I had to bring some home and neither of us had room for dessert. We both had two special cocktails which were served in small stemware glasses. The pour was to the top but given the price versus size we opted to finish one drink and not order a second. I would recommend La Botte and will return. It's a sold 4 3/4 stars. read more

Great service and attentive staff. Delicious food. Octopus: tender, with a bit of char for an added depth of flavor. The dish as a whole comes together really well. Creamy with hints of nuttiness and cheesiness. The lemon added a good touch of acidity. Salmon: flaky, crispy skin. Just the way it should be. Really appreciated the grilled artichoke and arugula salad. Scallop/Risotto special: Generous portion of scallops served on top of a bed of delicious risotto. Not too heavy. Hints of lemon and a touch of cream. Kept me going back for more. Scallops were meaty and fresh. Individually needed a bit more salt, but together with the risotto it was a delicious bite. First time we had dinner at La Botte. What a pleasant surprise. Each dish was outstanding - seasoned perfectly. The portion sizes were generous and the waiters really seemed to care what we thought about each dish. We were these on a Monday evening and the tables were mostly unfilled, but there seems to be a big bar business. Not a doubt the La Botte will become of our our "go-to" restaurants. What a good find for some authentic Italian food. A friend recommended this restaurant for lunch and we were pleasantly surprised. Quaint Italian restaurant with nice space inside and outdoor seating. They serve fresh bread with olive oil to start. You must get the fried calamari which was lightly fried and crispy! The food was good. The service however needs much help! You could tell that there was only one waiter who knew what was going on right from the start! I asked for hot peppers in my dish and I had 2 people come over for clarification. We had to ask for bread and we were told it comes out with the entree. That's very weird! Drinks took a very long time and after appetizers all the silverware was taken away and had to be replaced because we didn't have entrees yet. Came here for a private event (in a rented room in the back), and I must say that service is very courteous and attentive. Prior to the event starting, my fiancé and I had a drink at the bar, with my friend and her husband. The bartender was friendly, and our time at the bar was a nice start to our time at La Botte. The restaurant is nice and bright, and very clean. My table shared the starters family-style, and I think the consensus is that the crispy calamari was the best among the starters we had - light breading but with a nice crisp! We also had the Pizza Margherita, which did not live up to NY standards, in my opinion. (I would hope that a visitor from out of state gets their first NY slice at Joe's pizza in Manhattan or an Umberto's or Gino's on Long Island. Or has one of the dollar slices you can get throughout the city. Mmmm. But I digress...) I was not crazy about my salmon entree, and neither was my fiancé with his chicken entree, which he thought was bland. I would've loved to have tasted the olive oil more, and for a slice of lemon to have been provided with the dish. While there is no shortage of restaurants in White Plains, the city seems to have a high number of Italian, Asian, and Peruvian spots - each of them being present in at least triplicate. You can imagine then when I heard La Botte was opening I was kind of lukewarm to the news. Nevertheless, I wanted to try it out and see how it stacked up; I had nothing to eat for dinner so I decided to order some takeout. La Botte used to be Pizzeria Uno, so in that sense it's an upgrade. They really did the space up nice - there's decent space out front for outdoor dining and a large interior which can easily be used for private events. The color scheme is bright - lots of whites and greys which gives it an atypical Italian restaurant aesthetic. The restaurant is kind of off the beaten path, away from the main hub of Downtown White Plains. In a way that makes it nice since you can have a somewhat serene atmosphere when eating outside, but they're also a bit isolated. They have an expansive menu - a number of pizzas, pastas, mains, as as well as apps, sides, and a large variety of desserts. I wasn't looking for anything too wild, so I ordered some spaghetti pomodoro and a side of broccoli rabe. For protein, I asked if they can add some shrimp to the pasta which they were able to accommodate. The pasta was fine; the shrimp added sustenance and flavor but I wasn't a fan of the sauce - it was kind of on the bland side. The broccoli rabe had the slightly bitter taste but was a little too tough for me; I did order takeout though so that may have partly have been to blame. Everyone was friendly, and my food was ready at the promised time. Overall, I had a fine first experience at La Botte, but I didn't think the food was anything to write home about. I would be willing to give them another try, but I'm not running back. read more

I had lunch here for the first time. We sat outside at a nice table. Each table had pump alcohol on it for the customers use. It was very well done. The waiter was very professional, had mask and gloves on. He was an excellent waiter. I had a chocolate martini and my friend had a glass of wine. We started with the fried artichokes as an appetizer. They were quite tasty and very crisp. We ordered Misticanza salad: Mesclun greens, radish, carrot flakes, trufle lemon dressing. The salad was nice, with fig bits in it, but we detected no sign of any truffle, So we were a little disappointed. We shared a Parma pizza: Fior di latte, cherry tomatoes, arugula, prosciutto, shaved parmigiano. It was good, just not great. It was somehow missing a wow factor ingredient. We read the write up in Forbes magazine so after 15 years in the area we finally try this place. Vibe - nicer side of a pizza place. We went on a Saturday in the Summer so the place was maybe 1/2 full. Appetizer specials were a hit - melon and prosciutto and a Burrata with fig, peppers and more prosciutto. Good bread and olive oil. Entrees - the veal Parmesan chop was delicious and huge, the Chicken Martini tasted good, but was aesthetically unappealing because it was pale yellow next to boxed penne and butter sauce. Our friends had the black pasta with seafood. Had it spicy but it was way spicer then waitress mentioned and the women we were with could not eat it. Other dish was the Chicken Scarpierello and it was serviceable at best. Tiramisu was good and the chocolate cheesecake was fine. Service was not great since two of us got our entrees a good 5 mins before the other two. Also big gap between courses. read more
