I come here relatively often and always find the place to be super clean, well lit, and the food to be yummy. I always get the buffet and have never had any issues with the food being cold, nor the lettuce "brown." In fact, I think the salads are one of my favorite parts and it has many options for toppings/dressings on the buffet. Placed an order for a large pan with pepperoni, sausage, mushroom and extra cheese. Got a text telling us it would be 10 minutes late. Arrived 5 minutes early. I have to guess pan pizza = hand tossed for the rest of the world. This place likely must be rationing ingredients, because toppings were minimal. Had to ask my wife if sausage was on the pizza. She pointed to her pizza and stated here is a piece (I could not see it). And if the amount of cheese on the pizza was extra, I would hate to see what regular cheese is. The Service was awful, beware do not ask them to wash their hands or wear gloves, they'll get mad and even refuse to serve you simply because you want them to wash their hand or wear fucking gloves. Went for a take out salad bar and was very disappointed, the lettuce had too much old brown lettuce in the pail and it was cull at best. The toppings were fine but when I went to check out an older man came running to the register and shouted at me saying he had to charge me $1.50 more than the already price of $9.99 for the salad cause he INSISTED that I over loaded the bowl. A couple years ago the bowls were much bigger and now you got smaller ones and you want to upcharge for them. I went here for lunch today as I was hungry from trying to survive the hellacious snowstorm we had today. Piccolo Mano has been in Walkertown for awhile. It's a small Italian restaurant that's located right beside Lowes Foods. I went here for the pizza buffet which has been advertised in the past. It's about $6.99 for the buffet which includes a salad bar and pizza. The drink isn't included but that's okay. It's obviously self serve, and my waitress was really really nice. She made sure my drink was always filled, and even got them to get me some more supreme pan pizza when I needed it. I started out with a salad because if I am going to eat pizza then I need to get my vegetables in somehow right? The salad was the shredded lettuce which I prefer over the typical looking salad and it had a nice arrangement of toppings as well as pasta and tuna fish to go along with it. There were about six types of dressings available as well. I got ranch on mine, devoured it, and had no complaints. Next up was the pizza. They primarily make the thin crust here which I am not crazy about, but will make pan pizzas too. They also will make any pizza you want upon request. I got an assortment of pizza slices from pepperoni, supreme, sausage, and cheese. Again it was super thin which I wasn't crazy about but that did not stop me from eating them. They also has cheese sticks on display which were utterly delicious! Kind of reminded me of Papa John's just more slices! It was nice and fresh and I went back for second and thirds! The pan pizza I loved the most! Thick, hot, and fresh! I ate four to five slices! The pizza is cut into skinnier slices in some cases so don't eat as much as I I think you do but still get full! I didn't think I had room for dessert until I saw the cherry pie and chocolate pizza! I got another plate for dessert and didn't regret it at all! The cherry pie was the best to me as you could take the cake batter as the "sauce" for the pizza before being topped with canned cherries! It was amazing! The chocolate was good too, I just wished they had icing to go on top haha. It was a good meal, and I would come back for sure. The best part for me today was when my card declined and the gentleman at the counter said not to worry about it, that they will just get it next time. I tried to pickup a call in order Fri night. I was told it was coming up, just a few minutes. Order was called in at 5:37 and we were told 20 minutes. I arrived at 6:05. Waited 10 minutes. I asked how much longer so I could let my family waiting at home. They started looking and came back and said just a little while longer. I sat back down and watched as a younger lady came from the back and started making a large pizza. We had ordered a large meat with peppers and onions. She made a meat pizza. I was so glad it was not mine. Another 15 minutes went by and I asked again for a time. A young boy working the register told me it would awhile. Another 5 minutes go by. My brother that had called in the order called and spoke to a very nice waitress and asked about the order, the young boy told her to tell them that this was not McDonalds, they were not a fast food restaurant. He turned to me and said my order was ready but we would not get a discount. I said "I'm sorry, what? He put both hands an the counter and leaned toward me and said. We are not McDonalds, We are not a fast food restaurant. I said "Please do not talk to me that way." At this point he rolled his eyes at me. I asked for money back. I turned to walk out and the very nice waitress said she was sorry. I was of course upset at this point and lowered myself to his level and told her "I will not let a little punk speak to that way. I turned and walked out. the waitress followed me to my car and said if I would come back, she would ring me up. I did so just for her. I still can't believe what he said. Needless to say , we won't be back. When I got home, the pizza was the one the young lady had made, it did not have the peppers and onions we ordered. They had messed up the pizza on the phone order. We're new to town and wanted to check it out- glad we did! Our waitress was great, attentive and knowledgeable. Two of us got calzones, one got the chicken cacciatore. The chicken cacciatore was good, the calzones were amazing, quite possibly the best I've had (and I've had a quite a few, I love them). I was impressed with how well-stuffed the calzone was- they definitely didn't skimp on the meats and cheeses. They use a beef version of the traditional meats (pepperoni, sausage, etc.), and I couldn't tell a difference (if anything, it was better). We will definitely be going back. read more

The nice guy at the counter gave us the cheese pie for 6.99 (special) and that's a good value for a Lg pizza. Service was fast and friendly- it was ready in about 15 minutes. This place is less than 10 minutes from where I work, and me and my co-workers visit here at least once a month. We always get the lunch buffet. Salad bar is good, with shredded lettuce. Spinach pizzas, Pepperoni pizzas and Sausage pizzas are very good. I'm not crazy about their pan pizza. Cheese bread is good. Strawberry, Peach and Cherry pizzas for dessert taste great. But their chocolate chip pizza is my favorite dessert pizza. The owner (manager) needs to work on his friendliness though. read more

Fantastic food at incredibly reasonable prices. Scratch made pizza sauce and hand-tossed pizza dough. Thin crust was not cracker-like as some are, but nice and firm under the toppings and crispy on the edges. Pasta dishes come with scratch-made red sauce, there's no cans here. We had the veal parmesan and it was a nice, thick, good-sized cutlet perfectly cooked. I'm 16 and I work for what I get and I don't get off until 8pm I'm NOT going to be put on a time limit for my dinner. I REFUSE TO support a business that says a dinner buffet will be from 5pm-9pm you can take that a shove it somewhere the food is great and the severs are nice. I have made friends with them. My mother and I went in there on my day off to have a nice salad bar for dinner and they had the pizza out and she wanted a slice and the lady that took care of us said no that it goes to the people next door (non-paying Costner's at ups store). This is a repost: Okay, so I just had an interesting experience eating dinner at Piccalo Milano in Walkertown. Which we eat at frequently! We had the finished plates at the edge of the table. The waitress very hesitantly came over, apologizing, and said that her manager asked her to tell us that we weren't allowed to only eat the toppings off the pizza. There were two slices that my niece had ate the toppings off of. Keep in mind we were paying full price for us and each kid. So, I stopped the manager and asked him to clarify what he meant. He said that is the restaurant policy that you cannot get a slice of pizza and only eat the toppings. Our obvious response was why does it matter if we're paying for it? Plus, it was my four year old niece that started to get full and began picking at what was left. He stuck by it though and was a complete jerk. They literally have it posted that you can't eat only the toppings?! even if you're only 4 and paying full price. We spoke to the waitress again who was still very upset. Of course it wasn't her fault, but her and another waitress confirmed he was a huge jerk and treated not only customers but the staff horribly. So we definitely will not be back and would suggest others not as well to avoid a ridiculous incident like this. read more

Not much of a fan. I ordered the steak calzone, NO MUSHROOMS. I explained clearly my allergy. The waitress brought the food, I cut in and found, yes you guessed it. Mushrooms. I got the waitress and she took it back and brought it back out as the manager picked the mushrooms out. So, I went up to complain to the manager and he told me, "You can pick the mushrooms out!" He just does not understand food allergies and thinks picking out the problem food item resolves the issue. I won't be back there as they are dangerous and contaminate the foods they fix. If you love great Italian food this is the place for you. My wife and I drive about 90 miles round trip twice a month to enjoy the food and the friendly atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and the service is excellent...and the food is the best around. The prices are more than reasonable and the portions are tremendous...you will not leave feeling empty. The buffet is freshly stocked and the choices are many and varied and the bread/cheese sticks are the best you will ever eat. Stop by and give it a try...I know you will be back again.
