I had been so in mood for pasta, but after a long day at the beach all I could get down was the Tomato soup. It was so creamy and delicious. Venezia is a popular and very visible place with several tables on the sidewalk in front of the restaurant. I say popular because when we are walking around the circle in the evening those tables are always filled with customers. Our visit today was a little different, it was lunchtime in the off season on a hot day. We sat inside. No one was sitting outside. The inside was nice and air conditioned, a bit loud, my favorite kind of music playing in the background. We got a window seat and watched the few people on the circle walk by. Our server was right over and very pleasant, and did an excellent job. Our food was ready quickly, under 10 minutes, the pizza we had ordered placed on top of their signature tomato can stand. My wife got plenty of pizza, the size was 14", so I Instead ordered their Spaghetti Alla Carbonara. My food tasted fine. It was a heavy meal with lots of chewy spaghetti, so much so I filled up with food remaining. Happy and full, we were glad we finally stopped by. read more

Both food and service is excellent. The Bolognese is some of the best I've had. The interior is colorful and fun but so loud, I prefer eating outside because of the noise. My only problem with this restaurant are the seats. They are hard, heavy and uncomfortable. I also noticed when we sat at a high top, the bar stools were too high for the tables. They ordered the wrong height chairs for those high tops. It won't stop me from going back because the food is delicious. read more

My only experience so far is Venezia's wood fired pizza. It was a 14 inch with sausage mushroom and garlic toppings. The service was good. It was a pleasant day and I sat outside so the the atmosphere was relaxed and casual. It was very enjoyable. When the pizza came the toppings were arranged near the center leaving a large area without topping around the perimeter. I can only guess that that the toppings were arranged in that manner to minimize the amount of toppings used. The crust was good. The pizza and two beers came to $51.47 tax and tip included. For that money it seems that they could have spent an extra dollar and provided a complete coverage of toppings. read more

We passed Venezia and there seemed to be a fair number of people eating there in a Wednesday summer evening (unlike most other places) ... and the food looked and smelled good. There's abundant seating inside and out, and the shadow from the building plus some fans make the outdoor seating comfortable at dinner time. The wait staff was attentive and the food came out quickly. We had the gnocchi with red sauce and cheese. The gnocchi were tender, and the sauce had a great flavor. But there was so much cheese; we wound up eating around most of it. We also got the shrimp salad - it's a base salad with mandarins and a nice vinaigrette. And some sautéed shrimp which were a good size and tasty. If you don't go too crazy, you can get out for under $20 per person. read more

this place is run by idiots. i am dairy sensitive, and the food came out with cheese even though it did NOT say it on the menu. "tomato basil sauce" does not have dairy implied in it. my food had to be remade twice and i didnt even trust it at that point. they tried to pick out the Parmesan the first time but there were still pieces of cheese left. my friends food came out with a cold ball of mozzarella on top of warm pasta as well. when we asked for a manager he tried to blame us for not saying anything and said that it is "implied" that italian food comes with cheese, even though i have never been to an italian restaurant like that. at least they refunded our food. read more

My Venezia experience is always a super pleasant surprise. Recently my group decided to stop and eat while it was raining on and off. We sat outside. Benjamin was a great waiter. Average tourist trap in St. Armands circle. Busy place but not worth your time. Pros: fast service. Sangria was good Cons: food was subpar. The veal marsala linguini was so basic and felt like a 10 year old just boiled some noodles and added premade marsala sauce to it. The veal was dry and tasted frozen. The mussels were generic and nothing to cry about. The food was edible but definitely not worth the St. Armands supercharged bill. A convenient place to eat after a beach day but definitely recommend venturing out of St Armands if you want real food. read more

Had the worst service and pizza here last night. Got seated in the back by the bathrooms in a zone no server knew was theirs! Waited forever for a waiter to acknowledge us. Then again for sodas. The chicken was perfectly juicy, the breading had the perfect crisp, and the portion was enormous. Enough to share, but so good I didn't want to! The sauce and melted cheese pulled it all together into pure perfection. And I can't forget the mozzarella sticks. Easily the best I've tasted anywhere. Crispy on the outside, gooey and cheesy on the inside, with that perfect stretch when you pull them apart. They were the perfect starter and set the tone for an unforgettable meal. This is my favorite restaurant in Lido. This last time, my husband got the Spaghetti and Meatballs and I got the Margherita Pizza, and we really enjoyed it. We always sit at the bar and the service is always great. They are always very nice and also attentive. I also had the Limoncello Martini and it was for real, the best martini I have ever had. We have been going to Venezia for years, but our recent visit on 12/30/25 was a tremendous let down. The food was good, but portions appeared smaller than our prior experiences. Besides the lack luster food, we had multiple issues. The noise level in the restaurant was terrible. We spent our meal trying to shout across the table to each other, and eventually giving up and sitting in the noise with quiet amongst our very small table of 6. Our table itself was sandwiched incredibly tightly between 2 other tables. Our 3 year old had to be airlifted into her seat, as she could not fit into the table walking between ours and the table behind us. Also, the service provided was lacking. We did not receive bread that was provided to other guests. Drinks were not refilled. The server was extremely pushy and rushed about paying, placing the payment pad about 6 inches from my face and sighing at my request to actually scroll to view my bill. I did not like that the payment device showed only 25/22/20% tip options, while I was being asked to quickly pay. FInally, while we were finishing up and our two kids were using the restroom, we were outright asked to get up from our table so they could turn it over. My wife was shocked, to say the least. Extremely rude and unwelcoming. Three days before this, my wife and I were just reminscing about what our favorite restaurants are, and we fondly talked about Venezia. We have wonderful memories at this restaurant. We are genuinely disappointed and saddened to have had an experience like this here, and unfortunately may never return. read more

Everything about my experience at Venezia was wonderful! We were seated right away despite it being pretty full/busy. There is indoor and outdoor seating. We dined inside. Very welcoming and friendly ambiance/energy and kind/friendly server. Our food and drinks came out promptly and everything was absolutely amazing! We ordered crab cakes, salmon risotto and salmon with shrimp. ALL of it was delicious! I had a white sangria and it was so refreshing and a perfect amount of sweetness, just how I like it. My friend that I went with is from Sarasota and had never been, so it was a treat for both of us. Also, there is plenty of street parking and it's free on Sunday! Are you kidding me!? If you're in Sarasota, Saint Armands, and enjoy Italian cuisine, then you need to stop by and check out Venezia! I'm from Miami and I'll make the 3 and a half hour drive again just to have dinner here again. The four cheese is thick and so tasty, especially when you dip it with the bread and a little bit of butter, even better! The tomato sauce, spaghetti, squid, all perfect! The pizzas I didn't get around to trying but those seem to be the popular option at this wonderful establishment. The ambiance is amazing, the bar and seating available in the restaurant is ample. My boyfriend and I stopped here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon and we were able to quickly find seats at the bar. The bar countertop was beautiful, a heavy light-colored marble that was lit up... honestly it made the restaurant look really fancy, even though it seemed pretty casual. I ordered the white sangria to drink and my boyfriend ordered an expresso martini. Both drinks were delicious. The sangria was refreshing and didn't give me a hurting jaw like other sangrias/ wines do. It had fresh fruit in it and it was so good I ordered another shortly after. The expresso martini was also delicious!! It had a unique flavor that my boyfriend and I really enjoyed. We order expresso martinis whenever we go out at night and I am usually disappointed by them but this one was divine! To eat, we ordered the Venezia fries, the Caprese Napoli and the Pesto Della Nonna pizza. The food came out very quick and it was all DELICIOUS! The fries had shaved Parmesan and feta cheese and with the herbs it was so so good. The Caprese Napoli was also light and refreshing. We ended up using our fries as a sort of cracker for the Caprese Napoli items and it was the perfect pair. Really good portions too. For our pizza we had the Pesto Della Nonna and asked for arugula on top. The pizza was delectable, not too heavy and filled with toppings. This restaurant is located in Armand's Circle, and you'll have to pay to park on the street to eat here. I didn't ask, but I don't think that they validate parking. You'll have to ask when you arrive. The restaurant is small and unassuming. It's got a bar in the middle of it, and it doesn't seem too hard to get a table on a weekday. The music isn't too loud, although I felt like it gave the restaurant a slight hipster vibe. The service leaves a little to be desired. Service is polite, but not friendly or attentive. No one came to check on us to see how our food was. The server took the order, the food was brought over and we saw no one again until it was time to pay. So, service was ok but could've been better. That said, the food was fantastic! I had a spaghetti carbonara that was delicious, prepared with a creamy sauce and the noodles were cooked to perfection. The same goes for a spaghetti snd meatballs order that my family placed. The sauce was rich and hearty, and the meatballs were well seasoned and perfectly cooked. Noodles cooked perfectly as well. If there's one improvement that they could make with the food, it's to provide complimentary bread when guests arrive. I do t think that I was charged for requesting bread. I split the bill with my family, and I didn't see a charge for bread on my end. It may be complimentary, but I still had to request it. Anyhow, the bread did arrive and it too was delicious. It's a great restaurant with phenomenal food. The only reason that I'm not giving five stars is that I wasn't completely satisfied with the service. Zero complaints on the food itself, though.
