After comparing several options to get to LAX, I decided to try Ventura County Airporter Shuttle. My decision was mainly based on costs, $50 each way, total $100. Tips are additional. This was my first time taking the shuttle to and from LAX. I took an uber to the pickup location in Ventura, which is on the left side of the hotel. The shuttle arrived on time and it went onward to the Oxnard pickup location. The ride to LAX was smooth, under 1.5 hours. The driver was friendly and professional. On my return trip, it was easy to find the orange shared rides pick up locations. I arrived earlier than expected so wanted to take an earlier shuttle than I originally scheduled for. The driver easily accommodated this. The ride back to Ventura was also smooth. As I was exhausted from my trip I slept practically the whole ride back. This is a great economical option to get to and from LAX, especially for a long trip since the parking fees can be quite costly. read more

Excellent service that has always reliably gotten me to and from LAX on time. The parking at the hotel in Oxnard is secure and was free for the couple days I parked there. Also much more safe than the previous Oxnard Airport stop as there is hotel security there anytime. My trip this past time was probably the best I've had in the years I've taken the shuttle. Ralph was a great driver and was so friendly and caring to everyone on the shuttle. I don't know that I would've been navigating the rush hour traffic but he was wonderful. Please read my correspondence with the company via email: Hi there, I'm emailing to express my disappointment in VCS. After landing at 8pm last night at LAX, I wouldn't have thought to hurry out to see if I could possibly catch the 7:30 shuttle departure. Assuming the driver on the 7:30 pick up experienced the same as the 9:30 pick up, I probably could have made it; IF I had been contacted. Me and my two children were waiting until 11:00pm to be picked up last night due to traffic dropping passengers off. I feel that the company could have at the very least contacted us to inform customers of the delay (you do have our contact info). After waiting for 45 minutes I called and had a very unpleasant experience with the lady on the phone. I'm disgusted by how little regard so many companies have for excellent customer service these days. After another 45 minutes (my children sleeping on the concrete at this point; which I have pictures of) I called again for another update, only to be yelled at by my suggestion of, how nice it'd be if y'all would had just sent another shuttle an hour and half ago. When finally the driver arrived, she was pleasant but not as apologetic as one would have expected. Yes, I understand that it was out of her hands, but again, CUSTOMER SERVICE is EVERYTHING. Unfortunately, our ride to LAX was nothing to write home about either. The driver forgot some paperwork and had to turn around and go back from the Oxnard airport after being 15 minutes LATE picking us up. Another party and mine were in a panic the entire time in hopes to get to our gate on time. None the less we were the last ones on the plane with 2 minutes to spare. This kind of service is supposed to ease the stress of traveling, not increase it. I want a full refund of both of my trips there and back ($95 + $55) as I just cannot support things like this happening without consequence. There needs to be review in the way the business is run. The bus is late! As of this moment 35 minutes late and nobody let us know. If other passengers hadn't called, we would have never known. I drove my husband down from Ojai to catch the Airporter, and now he has given up and drove himself - Lucky me! Spending my Friday night hanging out at the Holiday Inn Express! The maddening part is that we could see several of their buses just sitting in the parking lot. The same poor driver that did the last loop has to do this one too and she is stuck in traffic. I see the rest of the passengers have now given up too. As I write this, the bus driver comes in and asks the desk clerk where her passengers are waiting. Always on time and pleasant. beat the competition and I won't name names, because it's tacky, BUT I do not need to Run all over the ROADS of Ventura county on the way and on the way back. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE I would give them less stars if I could. Well, I guess you get what you pay for. The service was terrible; the phone staff wasn't fit to run the french fryer at McDonalds - much less an airport shuttle service. My plane landed at 9:15 and I had only a carry on; when I got to the curb 9:40 and was told that the last van had left at 9:45. When I told them that it was only 9:40, the person on the other end of the line said "get a watch that works" and hung up on me. I called right back and asked (politely, even though I had been insulted and hung up on the last call) if they could ask the van to come back, the person at the other end laughed and hung up again. There were no more shuttles scheduled for the rest of the evening...so either I walked to Ventura County from LAX or slept on the curb - or paid a much more expensive price to get home. I took an Uber home to Ventura. When I called VCS to get a refund, I was told that they don't offer refunds. When I told them that it I didn't miss my shuttle - but the bus left early, I was told "No refund" and again was hung up on. I'd go out of my way to avoid VCS. TERRIBLE customer service, HORRIBLE drivers and vans, and just not worth the trouble - even if it were free. I purchased a ticket in July for my flight in Aug., never received an email or any notification that rides were cancelled. Today I decided to call & email and was told they needed my info. to complete my atransaction, and the driver would have a seat available for me. Then suddenly the emails stop. Two weeks ago, I booked a round trip. I waited since 7:45am for an 8:00am pickup. When I called at 8:01, I was told to give a few more minutes. When I called again after 5 minutes, I was told the driver was coming back to pick me up. After I patiently waited like forever, I called again and was told that the driver didn't see me and left. I asked if could take a Uber and getting refund and was told to call the office at 8:30. When I called the office, the answer machine said they would open at 9:00. I kept calling the office until 9:10 still no answer. When I finally got on the 9:30 shuttle, the driver told me that the office opens at 9:30. I have been taking the shuttle for many years and used to get phone calls when coming out of the terminal a little late. Now service is contracted out to a third party, none of the three people I spoke to was very helpful. I never missed a pickup when I was paying $30 one way. Now I pay $50 one way and have to wait for an extra 1.5 hours. Very disappointing! read more

OK...Awful they will leave you in the cold. They don't even take your phone number at the time you make your reservation to call and see if everything is ok. Waited at the green sign for an hour, Called the Airporter and asked where they were and they said the driver will be there (he did not) The trip is NON- REFUNDABLE. So if you get left in the cold at the airport you can always try again on another trip (SMH). They can have my 48.00 because I will never use them again. My parents pre-paid for a round-trip to the airport ride for $134. They drove to the the Oxnard Airport field. The place was blocked for workers to work on the ground around it. So they drove around and talked to a person in the area. She told them that she saw the airporter picked up people at the corner of the street. When they hauled the luggage to the corner, they saw that the airporter van showed up. They asked the driver to wait for them because they could not find a place to park their car as they were expecting to be able to do. The driver said that he is supposed to leave at 1:15pm, but he could wait until 1:17pm. My parents did not have any other choice than driving back home to park their car, since Ventura County Airporter had not provided parking spaces that day due to blocking off the parking and not informing my parents ahead of time. They drove home to leave their car at home, and asked a neighbor to drive them to the pick-up site. At about 1:16PM, they were back at the pick-up site, and saw the van starting to leave. They waved at the driver from inside their neighbor's car twice, but he did not stop. They tried to get a refund but the Ventura County Airport refused, saying that they were late. They could only keep a credit for a future ride. Then they asked their neighbor to drive them back home and called me for help. I ended up telling my parents to drive to my place (which is closer to the airport), dial me from the dialbox so I can buzz them into my condo building's underground garage, park their car in guest parking, leave their key under my doormat, and take a cab from my place to the airport. They didn't originally plan on doing it this way because they knew I would be at work during all this and it's a hassle to set up. I then called the Ventura County Airporter to tell them that my parents deserve a full refund, not a credit for future ride. I say this because my parents were actually on-time but Ventura County Airporter had the parking spaces blocked off for construction work, and neglected to inform my parents of this problem. Thus, Ventura County Airporter did not provide a parking space for my parents to leave their car and take the shuttle, which is a crucial part of their service. The woman on the phone was rude, increased the volume of her voice, interrupted me, and refused the refund. I lodged a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and found that there were three previous complaints against them already. They did not respond to any of the three previous complaints, do not have BBB accreditation, and are rated an "F" by the BBB. read more

Trip was cancelled due to a flight cancellation that was beyond our control. In turn, we didn't need to use this shuttle service. They refused to give our money back but said we could use the ticket in the future as long as it's within the year. I tried fighting it, because we aren't big travelers I just wanted money back. They refused. Fast forward to today, September 2015. I called and spoke with Janice. I asked politely if I could use my tickets now since we planned a trip out of LAX next month even though I understand that it's been than a year. She refused and stated rules are rules. I asked to speak with a manager and she refused that as well!! That's $70 down the drain. If you were a good business and you wanted to keep a customer, they should have let me use our tickets. I tried this shuttle because it was cheaper than the drive and long term parking to LAX. Have you ever ridden 90 minutes in an old, dirty vehicle that has NO SHOCK ABSORBERS??????????????? I wouldn't suggest it. Seriously, this thing bumped the entire way to the airport. I was hoping I just got the unlucky van, but...it bumped the entire way FROM the airport as well. I have used Ventura County Airporter Several times and never will again. Their vans are extremely rough and loud. The ride to LAX is a 1 1/2 hour long vicious assault on all the senses, and I am not kidding. I am not old or frail. I travel all over the world on a regular basis and this transportation is worst than what I see in most 3rd world countries. I've ridden this shuttle several times over the years, but the service is gone from mediocre to absolutely horrible. They have moved their pickup place in Ventura periodically, but when you call to get assistance, expect to be insulted and told how to read big red letters. The evening I waited for the shuttle, a truck was parked in front of the sign that tells you the stop has been moved. So needless to say, I missed the evening shuttle and couldn't get in touch with anyone until the next day. The woman in the phone wasn't satisfied with insulting my intelligence once. She insisted on doing it several times, but by saying the same thing, which just irritated me more. It was bad enough that I had the stress of getting to the airport without the shuttle, but to be told that I couldn't read and that I was dumb was more than any "customer service" representative should do! read more

The lady who answered the was extremely rude, sounded as though she was asleep when she picked up, and cursed at me after their driver drove past their pick up point. I'm assuming if they don't have anymore scheduled rides then they just leave even when the website clearly says they stop at every terminal. Worst customer service I've ever experienced. This shuttle service was incredible. They were on time, the drivers were incredibly kind and friendly, and my journey was made easy! They had clear instructions on pick up and I found it to be the most convenient way to get to LAX and back! I would recommend this to anyone and everyone!! I will definitely use it again. read more

No problem with pick up times or travel delays... the vehicles need some serious work! No BS, the suspension (if there was any) on the last ride I took (been using this service for many years) was AWEFUL! The whole bus rattles and creaks too! Terrible ride. They give you no way to contact the driver and there is no one in the office so you have to leave a message if your driver is 45 minutes late like mine was. They also do not contact you in any way. Drivers are fine and it's convenient for me in terms of pickup locations etc. However, the ride of the bus is simply the worst. It is so bad that I couldn't even use the trackpad on my laptop. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Worst customer service ever. Husband took shuttle from Oxnard airport with no issues. When returned on August 3, 2018 they took him to Ventura instead of Oxnard. We are new to area and only here on military orders. I called to complain they took him to Ventura instead of Oxnard. Shirley, whom is claiming to be the manager, was rude. First saying that he should have told them Oxnard. Said they ask him 2 questions ...oxnard or Ventura. My husband was only here a week before he flew out on military orders. Then returned a month later. So he has limited familiarity with the area and because they picked him up at Oxnard and he prepurchased ticket that Oxnard airport would be drop off point. Shirley argued with me on the phone and I told her to not argue with me then she told me that she would call the shuttle driver who was now en route to bringing him to Oxnard airport. She said she would tell the driver to drop him off in the middle of no where. And then hung up on me. I called today, Monday, to speak to a manager. Told the manager, Shirley, what happened and she then told me that I spoke with her on Saturday and proceeded to argue further with me denying she said she would have driver drop him off in middle of no where. I'm so upset right now! I should of known better than to book my mom with this company without reading all the reviews! I made a reservation for my mom and aunt online last night. Called and spoke to Janice before 5pm this evening and she confirmed to wait under the sign as directed. My mom was ready for her 5:15 pick up by 4:45, regardless of advice from Janice to 'have them come out at 5:20 because of the rain.' 5:30pm passes and my mom and my aunt calls me and they said no white van ever came with the sign 'ventura county airporter.' I called the number and spome to Robin an answering service for the Ventura County Airporter she tells me. She had me on hold for 10 minutes before taking my call. I notified her of the situation and she tells me 'I will call the driver' she gets back to me after 3 minutes and she tell me the driver is gone and is on the freeway. I asked her how can that be my mom was waiting since 5pm. Robin then tells me the driver might have started early and left early. I am livid! what company does that knowing you have a transport service and you tell them to wait at a certain time and they leave early and have the company representative advice you to purposely come at a later time.
