May daughter is 12 and the majority of the campers were very young. 2. there were too many kids for the location and parts were given by volunteer, is how I was told AFTER the fact. 3. They charge $7/person to attend at 20 min performance and $20 for a DVD which I feel is absolutely ridiculous. 4. no refunds, or even partial refunds will be given. They will allow you to transfer to a different week, however, if we have no intention of returning, what good is that? I asked to please pay it forward to a family in need, doubt that will happen. I would recommend it to those not too serious about theater camp, a "just for fun" type of camp.

The drink choices that they had were refreshing as they had a booth that provided fresh lemonade, watermelon, as well as mango juices. The food was filling with a range of choices that have you looking to try everything that was available to try. We only waited 10 minutes going and there was no wait coming back on Saturday. Overall, I thought this was one of the better run events I've attended anywhere. Police & security made there presence felt but not in an intruding way. The only things I probably wouldn't recommend are: $1 night for the carnival rides on Thursday. The price may be right but the lines are longer than at Universal Studios. We will not partake again in that activity. Port O Potties: As far as the bathroom facilities, it seemed the water for hand washing and paper ran out very early in the evening on Saturday. Guys are good to go for the most part but not so much for the ladies as my daughter & wife can attest to. There were enough potties with short waits, they just were not well stocked or kept up. This event obviously helped local small businesses which all seemed busy if they were open. That was great to see.

I had a free weekend, I drove up, stayed near Camarillo Outlets, then drove into Ventura for the balloon festival. There's only need to attend ONE day of the three. It's a GREAT hometown festival, whose main attraction are the balloons. Parking is good, wish I had time for the town tour, arrived early to take in the fest, and stayed late to experience all the balloons. I had the opportunity to watch them roll out the balloon, line up the strings, participate in the group effort to stand 'er up while the balloonist blew hot air within. The lighting of the balloons at night is spectacular, but probably would have been even more so if every balloon was alit during the fest. See pics.

How about taking a lesson from the Avocado Festival and having local artists compete for the t-shirt art and then maybe people would buy them? We started at the Wine Tasting Pavilion. 5 wineries this year. $2 per taste. I liked 75% of the wines this year. And towards the end of tasting time, the pours definitely were more generous. Although I did think it strange that a summer event would have all red wines, except for one white - a Chenin Blanc that was delicious. The boys headed for the beer tasting pavilion but ended up just buying full glasses of beer. I did try a Summer Shandy beer that was excellent. Dinner was from the Spencer MacKenzie fish truck again this year. I tried a less flammable sauce this year and enjoyed my fish taco more. I also enjoyed an order of their seasoned fries - thin, not overly greasy and lightly sprinkled with seasoning. The vendors were varied for craft items. I didn't purchase any impulse items, but the girl with us did purchase a few candles. The band for Friday evening played mellow County music and it fit with the casual evening. (I heard there was an unbefitting Rock band on Saturday.) The balloons are always center stage here and we weren't disappointed this year. They started inflating them just before sunset. They had more present than the previous year we had attended. We loved the alien-looking balloon called Outlander. And the Humpty Dumpty balloon was a hit. The Limoneira lemon-shaped balloon was fantastic. There were many with colorful patterns. Another evening of awe, wine, good food and friendship! I hope we can attend again next year

Ventura Road, Building 100, Port Hueneme which is on the base. Opened daily 10a-4pm but closed on Sundays. No reservations needed. Kid friendly location. This museum opened in 1947 which is also the 2nd oldest Navy museum in the US. You can easily spend about 2 hours here because they carry so much actually memorials from the actually event. There are a couple of screening rooms to sit and watch. Vintage heavy machinery like war tanks. Learning about the history with the collections, preserves, and exhibits artifacts related to the history of the United States Navy Engineer Corps. We can learn about Seabees (Navy military) also perform global humanitarian missions such as well-drilling and disaster relief. Established in 1941, they served as the construction force for the Navy during World War II. The Seabees' "Can Do" attitude made them legendary within the Armed Forces, and their character epitomized the resilience of that generation. The "Can Do" attitude still drives today's Seabees. If you are lucky you might even see a few Navy members walking from the base. After your tour you can take the scenic route home on the coast of PCH. Thank you Naval History and Heritage Command for preserving our history. We appreciate all your hard work for US history.

I'd argue that the "Commemorative Air Force museum" is a better representative of "Air" exhibits…read morethan the Smithsonian's " "Air and Space" museum. Sure the Smithsonian has some of the most historically significant airplane in aviation history but everything is so far away. All the exhibits here including the airplanes are within reach...one can experience there size and in many cases your able to look, touch, and walk into some (historic ) airplanes. One of personal life thrills is being able to sit inside a real MIG 29 cockpit which I did at this museum. Also in this visit we were within feet of one of the only flying B29 super-fortresses left. Our entire family was in awe of the planes and the stories the (wonderful ) docent regaled us with during our visit. It's not fancy...you are in fact inside a hanger with planes that do fly vs the Smithsonian but no less an opportunity to see historical planes and learn about the history of flight and the US Air Force ! Everyone associated with the museum is wonderful and friendly. We were told that the exhibits do change so visiting at least once a year will provide an opportunity to learn and see something new.

It was a very different, but cool thing to see airplanes inside of the venue. We took a picture of one of the airplanes outside and one of the airplanes inside the venue. I took a couple of videos showing how spacious it was. They have a stage for a band, DJ, or performers. From what I read on their website, they have a list of caterers they work with. I don't know which one they had yesterday, but the food was delicious! They also had several cashless bars inside the venue to order drinks from. The only things that I didn't like were that they don't have restrooms inside, so the company rented "fancy porta potties". Another thing was the parking situation. They don't have a lot of parking space so we had to take an Uber to get there and back, but overall, it was nice and great for big events.

Well, now we do! And with their new location, it somehow got even better. As an avid board game player and enthusiast, my eyes practically popped out of my head when I saw the incredible collection Kenan and Edith have put together. The library is packed with games I already know and love. The kind I can open up, play, and teach to new players without a second thought. It also has so many games I have always wanted to try, along with titles that caught my eye for the very first time just by seeing them on the shelves. The new space is warm, inviting, open, and genuinely comfortable. It gives you that feeling of being at home around the kitchen or dining room table, gathered with family or friends for a great game night. But what makes it even better is that you get that same cozy feeling while also having the chance to meet new people, grow your gaming circle, and share the hobby with others. And the D&D section? That is what a Dungeon Master dreams of when planning a session. Terrain, minis, source material, and plenty of table space all ready to go. Just looking at everything had my session-planning brain spinning with ideas for combats, encounters, and adventures I could throw at my players. Overall, this place has firmly cemented itself as my top spot in Ventura to gather with friends and meet new ones. It is close to many dining and drink options for any breaks during a game, has a warm and welcoming atmosphere inside, and is run by amazing owners who greet you with a smile whether it is your first visit or your hundredth. Add in the huge library of games to choose from, and it really is something special. I would give this place a million stars if I could. Come in and try it for yourself. Ventura is lucky to have it, I know I am.

They have some known NBA Players on the team as well as high level post college players. One thing that is great about this is that the crowd can have a hands on with the players before and after the game...! YES, actually take a picture with a pro player, My kid even was shooting on the court with a few of them. Very fast games with alot of dunks and fast breaks make this a great night of entertainment, especially to those who LOVE BASKETBALL. The owner and General Manger was nice enough to even donate tickets to a boy scout troop at one of the Cal Lutheran Location Games for free. I know that the 2012 Season is coming up and there are games scheduled and alot of fund raising games that will support our local HS Athletes, SO I am very glad to support and I know I will enjoy them coming back to the area for the new season.
