During my second visit, based on Instructor Holly's recommendation, I received highlights -and I left pleasantly surprised and very happy with the results. Most recently, on April 8, 2026, I went for my first touch-up, and I'm extremely pleased with how my hair looks now. I'm especially grateful for Holly's clear guidance to her student, Anne, who did an excellent job on my highlights touch-up. The level of care and instruction really shows in the final results. I truly appreciate the services at Lu Ross -it's a win-win situation where students gain valuable hands-on experience, and clients leave feeling satisfied and confident. It is comfortable and you can see your car while having your hair done if you are smart enough to park in the free lot off Thompson behind pizza man Dans. Manucures, massages, waxing and counseling on personal problems are available. All of the stylist there are fun, funny and a joy to chat with. The prices are reasonable and below market for the neighborhood. Walk-ins are welcome (to hang out, mostly) but make an appointment, I have been able to get in the same day and almost always the same week.

It's a small, pretty little shop with only three manicurists who take their time and really know their stuff (we were talking nail color one time and they were telling me all the limited edition colors from OPI and could name them and the ones they liked - right now I have this beautiful color from a discontinued OPI line that they found for me) and they take their time and do a beautiful job. It's the exact opposite of the factory nail salons that seem to be everywhere. I came because my feet were impossibly bad and I really wanted to wear sandals again and Irene managed to coax soft skin back to the bottom of my feet from the callused, cracked ones I had (it was almost as attractive as it sounds :).
