The technicians at this nail spa are talented, but my overall experience was disappointing. The salon seems more focused on accepting as many customers as possible than on giving customers the opportunity to choose the technician they prefer. I was also told that a technician I requested was on vacation and would be returning, but later found out she had already left the salon. Salon appears clean and staff was friendly, but my pedicure was painted poorly despite upgrading to the Zazzle Dry nail color and paying $70. I saved all of five minutes in the drying process which still took 10 minutes. On the bright side, the Zazzle polish does allow you to remove it with acetone, which is a big plus if you'd like to change your polish a lot. Honestly, I would've given more stars if it had not been for the terrible paint job. I ended up going less than a week later to another shop and getting a polish change. read more

I didn't even get the chance to get my nails done because the customer service was wak af Because the Internet isn't always 100% right, I dropped by earlier today to ask if they were walking only or if I can make an appointment for after my shift. Person I was speaking to said that they did not take appointments, but started asking around if anybody had time to take me just that. Even though I told her that I was going to be coming back later. So she asked me what time I'll be coming back, I told her, and she said OK come back then. So I come back at the time that I told her I would be coming back and the salon was packed, but somehow also eerily silent. The person who told me that they don't take appointments and to come back looked me in the eye, but said nothing when I told somebody else what had happened earlier. They had me wait on a chair that had a large, unlabeled book on it. There were no other chairs or surfaces and I was not told anything about the book. A paying customer saw me holding the book and asked if she can put it aside or if I was "looking for my color." Now, there was a whole wall of color and bottles and that is the only way I've ever picked a color so idk if this is what nail salons do but I've literally never seen it. Staff did nothing and they clearly didn't care. Whoever it was I talked to earlier had plenty of witnesses. But I don't think they care. read more

Booked an appointment for 2:15 and got there right on time. If you want to get your nails done, you have to call ahead since they're fully booked and they don't take walk-ins. Also, even though they close at 7:30 pm, they take their last customers at 6:30. I went here with two friends and it took us around 3 hours for us to get our nails done. Staff was friendly and nice, the AC is blasting in the shop and it feels very comfortable. The only downside is that my acrylics costed $85 after tip and I was not taxed since I paid in cash. Would probably come here again but only to get gel, not acrylics. read more

Booked an appointment for 5pm gel pedicure and eyebrow wax. This very young girl started my pedicure and butchered the shape of my big toe. She was cutting my nails down with the cuticle clippers and not regular nail clippers so the shape of my toes were very inconsistent and sloppy. Then, she started putting regular polish on before I stopped her and said I wanted gel. Then when she went to cure the polish, it started to wrinkle and slide off. I thought it was the polish, but once the older lady came to over to redo my polish, it cured just fine and looked great. So the young girl left and the older lady finished the job, and had to clean up my cuticles and shape. Eyebrow wax was good. Not sure if this young girl is someone's daughter, she doesn't even seem qualified to do someone's nails based on her lack of experience. If I'm paying $50 for a gel pedicure, I definitely don't want her to do it. I wouldn't mind waiting if it means I will actually like the quality of the pedicure. Not to mention, the young girls mistake costed me 20 extra minutes on top of an hour long service. read more

Well... leaving the salon i was so pleased. My nails looked amazing and the service was super fast. I got Dip on my natural nails. But it has been 5 days since and one of the nails just entirely popped off at some point in the day, NOT what dip does. My friend that went with me and got the same service also lost a nail 8 days after our appointment. I will be calling back, i did not pay $50 for 5 days of a manicure. read more

I was looking for a nail salon in Boston and my friend recommended Venus and to get an appointment with Tiffany! I got a fill for my acrylics and a regular pedicure, and Tiffany did a fabulous job on my nails. They were a little crooked from when I first got them on at another salon and Tiffany fixed them perfectly and quickly! Another employee did my pedicure and that was perfect too. They're all so nice and the prices are reasonable. I'll definitely be back soon! read more

Nice people but their dip quality is bad or they put my nails under the UV light for too long so they cracked within a week. They did 2 "dips" in the powder and fixed my crack nail nicely. But the acrylic broke very soon which was Very abnormal for dip. read more

This place deserves so much more love. After moving to Boston for university a couple years ago, I searched endlessly for my go-to nail salon. After trying the ridiculously expensive places on Newbury and even a few salons down Mass Ave, I can confidently say you get the best quality nails at a reasonable price at Venus comparative to other places in the area. My first time trying them out was after getting the worst acrylics of my life. They fixed me up within twenty minutes and charged far less than the heinous acrylic job. Yesterday I went with a friend who showed up a little late due to personal circumstances, and the ladies worked on her nails 30 minutes after closing. Both times I have been I have asked for just a manicure or pedicure and both times they have tried to convince me to get both. I was presented with options on what type of pedi I wanted. I choose the second option for $35 which included extra time on callus removal, hot stone massage, ect. It was a very poor excuse of a regular pedi never mind a pedi I am paying extra for. I asked the other lady to please tend to my feet as I was displeased with the lack of care. I guess I bothered these two ladies because she started digging and cutting so deep into my feet I was bleeding. I made it clear it was hurting. Called and got an appointment in the morning, they didn't write it down so I ended up having to wait 35 minutes past the start of my appointment. Of course the nail color I wanted for my toenails was a busted bottle so the woman doing my pedicure just picked a random color to do for my feet, which was not really a color I would have wanted but I didn't care to much at that point. However, when I got my gel manicure done I showed them the picture of what I wanted and asked for them to do tips to make my nails longer, and the lady said they only do acrylics for tips, which is weird because I feel like it's basic salon skills to be able to do tip extensions for dip or gel nails and there's a bunch of other salons in Boston that have the skills to do this. (I'll post a picture of what I wanted with the white design versus the basic, short nude nails I left with). So basically I walked out of there with my nails looking not at all how I wanted and wasting my time and $56. Never going back there again..... read more
