I was extremely disappointed in my last few visits to Venus nails. Today's experience was the worst by far; the customer service was terrible, the technicians were very rude, and my nails were subpar. I went in for a normal no chip manicure & pedicure. The tech for the pedicure painted my nails before he did the pedicure. I asked him not to continue with the pedicure after my nails were painted, but was charged for the full pedicure I didn't get. Then the tech that did my nails was so rude when I mentioned that I didn't want s fill in on the overlay I previously had. I just a no chip manicure on my natural nails (which was mentioned to the guy when I walked in and my pedicure technician incase they wanted to soak my nails during the pedicure I didn't get). He then took a plastic nail tip and tried to pry the acrylic off my nail that way, because he didn't want to take the time to soak the acrylic off. I told him it hurt, he huffed at me and made it clear I was an inconvenience when he had to stop and soak off the acrylic. Fast forward to the end because this is getting to long, my nails are uneven, the paint is thick, the tips are jagged and there's cotton and acrylic stuck on my fingers from him trying to get the acrylic off. I wouldn't give any stars if I could, this was by far my worst nail experience, and I will not be returning. read more

Went with a friend for a pedicure and they sat us in spa chairs with feet soaking. We ended up leaving after an hour because no one was available to service our pedicure. When asked he said it will be a bit longer. He turned it on me and said we should have asked him how long the wait. Terrible customer service turning his mistake on us. I had a pedicure appointment for 11:30am. I arrived a few min early and was told to pick my color and go to the chair that was open. I sat in the chair without anyone coming to help me until 11:44 (I was going to leave at 11:45am if I hadn't been helped). At this time someone came to fill the tub with water and then do another customer's toes (this other person had been waiting with her tub filled the whole time I was there). At 12:05pm a nail tech finally came to do my toes. Okay, I understand places get busy and what not, but what's the point of having an appointment if you're going to have me sit for 30+ min before I have a tech? Just tell me I'll have a longer wait then normal and let me decide if I want to stay or go. I don't have all day to waste... The woman next to me was going to have her nails done too, but ended up saying no because it was going to be too long. Obviously the place is either overbooked and/or understaffed. Please inform customers how long you expect their wait to be. I think customers would appreciate this more then waiting unattended and questioning when someone will be with them. My toes look good, but I'm still disappointed in the wait and lack of communication about my wait time. read more

I gave this place a second chance after my review from a couple or years ago. They are still at it! You ask how long a wait for a pedicure and they tell you 5-10 minutes. Then they put you in a foot bath and ignore you, thinking you won't leave if you're seated and your feet are wet! After 25 minutes in now cold water, I could tell that no one was coming anytime soon, so I left a drippy trail right out the door! No regard for the customer. read more

I came in on a Saturday wanting to get a fill and I decided that I wanted to try dip powder on my nails since my mom recommended dip powder. I usually come here with my mother but this time I was alone. When I get called to sit down,I'm told to go to 6. I'm already on edge because the women who is sadly the co-owner isn't friendly at all and always gave me bad vibes. When she finally sits down across from me she does not acknowledge me in anyway and does not say hi then, She starts working. When I tell her I want to do dip powder on my nails, she tells me "no".Just plain "no" because she would have to take off my set. I don't understand why you come to work and tell your customers that it's too much work and you don't want to do it. It was crazy to me how someone I'm giving my money to tells me that I can't have a service because it's too much work for them. It seemed very discriminatory,rude and uncalled for. WAS NOT good! We called before leaving and they told us we didn't need to book an appointment so we didn't. We walked in and they directed us to pick a color for our acrylic full sets. We were not sure where to sit afterwards and what we should even do. They directed us to sit in the waiting spots and then they had us move to one of the stations after waiting for 30 minutes and no one was even there! I was originally sitting with my friend but they asked me to move to another empty station across the room from my friend and then we waited for another 20 minutes after thinking we would get taken shortly. We finnaly decided to leave after waiting a total of 1hour and 10 minuets and terrible service. I would not recommend coming here Unless your willing to wait and have slow service. read more

Called to make an appointment for a pedicure. Man on the phone said I could come in 30 minutes. Got there (within 30 min or less), picked a color, and waited about 15 min to be seated in a chair (which had no water). About 15 min later I finally got water, but was still waiting. Another 10 minutes pass and everyone is still busy with someone else. It's now been 40 min since I got there. I had to leave. Very disappointed. Why tell people to come in if you are too busy? First appointment, and I made an appointment to be sure, the tech took someone in the middle of my manicure which delayed me. Venus Nails is a wonderful salon. All businesses are hurting from Covid and many places lost employees. I hope people can think about that when they are posting horrible comments. Chloe is amazing I came into and asked her to fix the nail shops work that I went to earlier that day that messed up my nails when I ask for an acrylic full set with regular polish. After several years of going to Venus I will not return. I saw one of the nail techs drain the foot tub and told a young girl to sit down immediately after. Nail tech had the child put her feet in the same dirty tub (with dead skin and soap suds) from the patron before her and just put fresh water right on top . Please. Do. Not. Go. Here. I went int for a simple mani/pedi because my mom gave me a $36 gift card. First off, it was my first time here and my last. They aren't good at directing you through the whole process. They just put you where you want and if you're confused as to what is happeningor saying they give you a look like you're dumb. I picked a pale green color which at the time didn't realize it was gonna be so hard to show up because it didn't look that way in the actual bottle. She had to put two coats of color on... no big deal right? Well the lady that was painting my toes with it, began talking crap about my choice in color to the other employees and then said "do you want to change the color for your nails" I said no and she laughed. They all did. Which made me then feel uncomfortable. She then takes me to go do my nails. She then says "do you want to pay me now?" And I said "uhm you haven't even done my nails yet". She responded with "I think you should pay me now" and so I wasn't gonna argue. I was over it at this rate. I hand her the certificate... now mind you the regular spa combo was $36. She told me I owed $40. Uhm what? Not what your brochure says. Insisted I owed her $40 so I gave it to her even though it was wrong. She couldn't finish the painting on my nails so she brought another girl over to finish what I THOUGHT wasn't going to take long. I was still sitting there 6 coats later... I finally pulled back my hand when the polish was clearly good and said "I think that's good. I have somewhere to be. I don't have time for a 7th coat" she grabbed my hand again and said no I need to do another. I was there for a total of 2 hours and she had the balls to tell me I had to sit there for 10 more minutes to dry cause she worked hard on my hands. I didn't cause 1. You aren't the boss of me. And 2. You already made me ridiculously late. 4 days later and the polish is COMPLETELY OFF. Because they caked it on so much that it easily came off. Go to Nova or one of the other nearest nail salons with better reviews. Do NOT go to this rude place. IT IS NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY and should not be in business. read more

First , off I waited for an hour before getting serviced I only got a pedicure because the wait was too long & it seemed they only rushed for there white clients ! A lady who walked in right after me was able to get seated and serviced right away while I had to wait and wait and say something before I was even looked at ! Works very slow !! I went here to get a gel full set before a wedding. They were also doing the nails of all the bridesmaids as well as the bride. One of the best gel nail full sets I've ever gotten. I got a gel set with sparkled tips and it was $50. Although it was a bit more than I usually pay for a full set, it was so worth it! Have been here before and have been satisfied except that they always try to get you to upgrade to something. I went there today and the polish they put on was still soft 5 hours after I left there. I called them and they said to come back and they would fix it. It was very inconvenient but I went back. I showed the tech that the polish was still soft by taking a nail and pushing the polish on another nail. Some woman that works there came over and 1. Questioned the sparkly polish I had chosen making me feel like she was saying I was too old to wear sparkly polish or too stupid too see the sparkles in the bottle then 2. she proceeded to lecture me that "regular" polish takes a long time to dry, that you have to be careful and cannot "push" on it like I did. I told her that it had been 7 hrs, the polish should be very dry by then and I hadn't "pushed" on it til just then. - I have had manicures before or polished my nails myself. They fixed it but weren't very pleasant about it. They 2nd polish was more set by the time I left there than the 1st polish was after 7 hours. read more

He told me White was "too hard". Apparently it was because it came off five days later while on my cruise so I had to pay to get a manicure on the cruise. White shouldn't be this hard. Definitely would not recommend this place. (Also my mother had a terrible experience at the same time with her dip being a completely wrong color.). read more

I had been going here for years because I felt it was clean and most of the techs were friendly. While other places in town are cheaper, they are also not clean and hard to talk to/ understand them. I have always disliked that the staff speak to one another regularly in their language and ignore us clients. Leaving others out of conversations is rude, especially clients. However I've been told all nail salon workers do this. But the other night I accidentally dropped and broke a bottle of polish. I felt terrible and sincerely apologized but was completely IGNORED. Complete silence. When I tried to help clean up I was stearnly told to step back. I reached into my wallet and left more than enough cash to cover the polish and manicure. I apologized again and said "this is for your trouble." Not one word from Chris, the owner, who fully heard me and saw the money. My French acrylic nails started to lift within 3 days on the sides. The technicians was also kind of rude. They used the drill on my natural nail and it hurt really bad. This also cause my nails to become really thin and when I went back to my normal nail tech that week she said that "a new tech probably did your nails, you can tell by how badly your nails started lifting in a few days. I have came to this nail salon 2 years ago in 2018 & this is not how my nails looked then. I understand that it gets busy & it takes a long time to do a soak off & a full set of acrylics, but understand that you need to take your time for your customers since they're you're source of income. My nails looked HORRIBLE & that's being nice. The woman that sits 2 chairs down from Chris is who did my nails. She did a soak off & full set in 1 hour and 20 minutes. Usually a soak off & full set takes at least 2 1/2 hours if you're taking your time & paying attention to your work. As you can see from my picture the tips were too big for my nails & you could barely see the sides of my fingers, they were so thick i could barely pick up paper at my job, they weren't shaped correctly after i said that i like my nails VERY squared. Just overall horrible service. Then when i went back to have them soaked off & explain that i was not happy & wanted them off to the owner the woman who did my nails over heard & started talking in a different language with the other workers and they started laughing & looked at me. At other nail salons that I've been to (Luxsis in North Aurora) the workers would talk in their language & then they would say what they're saying (out of respect and professionalism). I wouldn't ever treat one of my customers like this. Also, other nail salons that I have been to give you your own emory board, buffer, & the drill head because of COVID-19, this place does not do that. They don't even make you wash your hands before your service nor do they wash their hands or wear gloves. Also I paid in total $70 ($60 for service & $10 tip bc i'm a nice person) for a full set of acrylics & no chip, i got charged an extra $5 for the length for her to not even shape my nails properly or file them down properly. At Luxsis I would pay $65 total and it would be $45 for the same service w/ the same length (never once charged for the length of my nails because that's just absurd) & a $20 tip because they deserved it & would take their time.
