I've gone to Venus nails since they opened (8 years?!). I travel a lot for work and have occasionally had to go to other nail salons or have with friends, and it's never quite the same. I'm always happy with their work at Venus for both mani and pedis, and if I need something fixed they're happy & willing to do so. I called and scheduled a 6pm appointment for two no chip manicures. It was supposed to be a relaxing spa day with my mother and I. They allowed walk in to go in before us. They also didn't start working on one of us tell 20min after appointment time. I have tried every nail place in Yorkville and close surrounding Oswego and this one is the best. Granted I only go to get Pedicures as I am a nail biter and embarrassed to let anyone see my nails. The Pedicures, although more expensive than other salons, are great no matter who does my nails. I do find the massage chairs to be more uncomfortable than other places though. Each pedicure I have gotten takes no less than 50 minutes and the selection of different pedicures is great. My feet always walk out looking beautiful and I am typically fully relaxed. read more

They had me waiting almost two hours with an appointment I was 10 minutes early to and took a later appointment and finished her before me. I have been getting my nails done for years at a salon in Montgomery but on a whim went to this salon for a full set. One of the biggest mistakes I will ever make! I went to the girl at the very first chair when you walk in which is always the salon owner when you go to these salons so you assume being the owner you are in the best of hands. NOPE! I used to be a nail tech so I know the steps you are to take in putting on fake nails. She skipped several steps, one of the nails were on crooked and she got the acrylic all over my fingers which causes lifting and MOLD. Well guess what? Here I sit today typing to you with MOLD on my finger!! I DO NOT RECCOMEND THIS SALON! Not to add that the prices were insane.They claim to give you a $5 off your first service with them but for a full set of regular acrylic (and a moldy nail) I payed $47! Unheard of!! read more

They don't clean their tools. The first few times I went I just figured I didn't see them pull out fresh equipment, but after going for a few months I noticed I NEVER saw them use clean tools. There will be old nail polish on nail files and dead skin/ fingernails everywhere. They have a wide color selection, but usually the color you pick is out. It takes so long for them to do a manicure, probably because they're constantly talking to each other in another language and stopping to look at their phones. Prices are pretty steep too. I've had a few technicians wack my fingers with a nail file if my hand twitches. They don't speak to you, only to bark instructions at you occasionally. So happy I found a new place to go to, will not be returning! read more

I had been to 3-4 other salons in Oswego/Montgomery area and these salons were horrible wait times, horrible job on nails always thick chunky nails and rude staff! Now I have been going to Venus 2-3 times already and Chris and his staff are always fast, friendly and do a Fantastic job!! We will be moving quite a ways away but I am not gonna chance it and go anywhere else! I will travel for quality. I recommend them highly! read more

I like this place actually, they did a really good job. I showed up at 7 pm and they stayed late to do my pedicure and gel nails. They were fast and the prices were pretty average if you ask me. I didn't think they were terribly expensive but they aren't the cheapest, but in my opinion you get what you paid for. I have a really hard time with my nails lifting easily and it's been almost 2 weeks and I have had zero lifting or breaks or anything which is unheard of for me. I absolutely love this place. I've been going here since my family moved to Yorkville in 2009. I do pay a little more here, but usually because I end up tipping well because I'm so happy with the work. I usually do french tips or no chip when I go in and their work is always flawless and lasts two weeks. My eyebrows always look fantastic too! This is a very busy salon. They have hired a couple new people who are slow and do a crummy job. My most recent pedicure was very subpar. Then a veteran rushed through my no chip manicure which only lasted a week. I don't believe I will go back. Prices are steep and quality is declining. read more

This place is good enough for getting a pedicure, but I don't recommend anything other than just nail polish on your fingernails. I started with a 'gel' nail there and had a couple fills- it ended up so badly that I didn't even want to go back just to have them removed. Take note! Their gel nail is some sort of gel-acrylic hybrid and is NOT what you think you're getting. I went to Nova over by Home Depot for repair, where they gingerly cared for my ruined nails. My nail tech didn't bad mouth the work from the other place, but I could tell he wasn't happy about it. The service isn't that great, nor is it that bad, (I'd go back for a pedicure), and making an appointment is somewhat futile, but their prices are good. You get what you pay for. If you want better quality, and you want to pay for it, go to the nail spa on Rte 71 in Oswego near Ace. read more

This place doesn't even deserve ONE star. I came in to have a pedicure & a full set done. I was told to sit at one of the pedicure chairs. A man filled up the tub with water and walked away. FORTY minutes later, I'm sitting in cold water with zero acknowledgement as to when I would be helped. Now I understand it's the holidays and everyone and their aunt wants their nails done & that's fine, I respect that. However, sitting in frigid water, having nail polish spilled all over me, yes all over me including my brand new north face jacket & then having to be rushed through what's supposed to be a relaxing time is pathetic and extremely unprofessional. WORST SERVICE ON THE PLANET!! They always seem to be in a big hurry. They continually sand on high speed which burns the tops of my nails. They file so hard and get the skin surrounding my nail. I've even bled before. Guess what folks? If you were more careful, you could actually file the nail rather than my finger! They roll their eyes, shake their head and start talking in their language. I end up apologizing to them because it's painful to me. What's wrong with this picture?? THEY should be the ones apologizing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The WORST part of this is that this is done by the owners!!! I stopped going to the man because it was just too painful. He has sharp nails that dig in while he is working on you. He also holds so tight, it nearly cuts off the circulation in your finger. It should be a relaxing, pampering experience, not a painful one. The last time I went to his wife. She told me her husband told her not to do my nails again. Well, they've been taking my money! She also said I was "difficult". That's it! I'm walking out! I offered to pay for what she'd done so far. She wanted me to pay full price! Too bad they have lost my business forever! I will NEVER go back. Not for a manicure, pedicure, waxing or a gift card. I will tell everyone I know to NEVER go there!!!!!!! How can a business expect to be successful when they treat their customers this way? There are enough other salons around! You may like this salon if you are fortunate to not have one of owner's as your nail tech. She is very impatient and rude. Most of staff do not speak English well and you cannot understand any direction they voice to you. I at first wondered how this young woman can be so rude to customers and not be chastised by supervisor but after talking to friends who have been there; they described this same nail tech to me, and sure enough, it was same tech who had treated them rudely as well, and they informed me she is one of owner's. With so many Nail Salons throughout area, I will just drive further down road to next one. I hear Belagios in Yorkville by Jewel/Starbucks is gaining popularity with their expertise and good manners towards customers and they speak good English. My friends and I would live to know what insults are thrown our way between their jabber because they know we cannot translate. read more

I had the rudest service at the Venus Nails. The girl who did my pedicure was quite nasty. She snapped at me when I asked for my nails to be short saying they were short already. She didn't even speak to me or smile. At one point she slapped the towel down in foot bath. Everyone else in the salon seem quite friendly. Unfortunately I won't be going back because of her. I gave her a two dollar tip which is very low for me and now I'm aggravated I gave her anything. read more

I have used Venus since we have moved here. I am never disappointed. The time spent on each client is great and the attention to detail by workers is superb. I tried another salon on the west side of town on the recommendation of a friend and was very disappointed. It was also more pricey. I highly recommend Venus! read more

Love, love, and love this place, just went for the first time 2 weeks ago and my nails still look lovely. This is after being on vacation and washing dishes, swimming in pools, lakes and the ocean. I type for hours everyday and usually after two days my gel manicure starts chipping, my nails look like I just got them done. I can tell they always want to provide for their customers the best service as they can. I love how they really care about the customers' feeling. I went here on recommendation from a close friend for my wedding mani/pedi. The pedicure was nice, and a pleasant experience. The atmosphere is relaxing. The manicure is what I had an issue with. My nails were naturally long and rounded to begin with. The guy did one cut with the clippers across all my nails to square them, and I ended up with a crack in my nail from the stress of the clippers bending my nail to cut! He worked fast, and the nail polish cracked the same day! The one day I needed my nails to look nice and be photographed, is the one day I was stressing over not breaking the cracked nail off! He also did not file well enough after clipping...I kept catching my nails on everything due to little tags of nail trying to come off the rest of the way. I have a certain nail salon I always go to but decided on a whim to stop here for a quick fill. My mom and I went together and I was done with my nails before they even started her. The salon was not busy, literally 3 customers in the place and 2 of those being my mom and I. One of the nail tech's clients showed up an hour early for her appointment so she stopped midway through my moms fill and had her move chairs so she could start on the other woman (this being the 3rd time they have moved her around like musical chairs... Unprofessional). The staff was friendly but would not stop pushing for extra services! I work in retail and sales so I understand adding on how it all works but there's a way to go about doing so... I've had worse experiences but can easily say I more than likely won't visit this salon again. Ease up on pushing the additional services and treat every customer the same, regardless. read more

i went here at least 8 times the place is nice and clean however the staff is very rude i will never go hear again the prices are ridicules. i had a mani ped and eyebrow wax i lift a tip of what i had lift out of a hundreed and the lady laughed and told here friends look i have a tip she call be some inappropriate names which she assumed i did not understand her language they talked about a lady with vertical vain which was un called for and a young girl getting her toes painted saying that her mom was to cheep to pay for a full pedicure very rude and they are not sanitary at all with tools they try to sale you on dollar store lotions and fake feet masks that they don't know how to use . and when you dont agree to get more done they make you feel like you should not be there if you cant get the better offers shut bs i will not return i ask them to clean up my brows and she told be if i want her to do more its going to cost more there is no reason to go here you always end paying more and getting less no matter what i only started going bcoz i just moved to yorkville but ill find some where else to go i recomend you do the same read more
