I worked with Kyle Patrick, but every artist is incredible in their own right. They all exhibit different strengths, so if you aren't seeking out a piece from someone specific, just ask who would be best suited for your vision. Everyone there is helpful and pleasant. From booking the appointment to walking out of my second sitting, I felt like a king. The place itself looks average from the outside, but inside it has an herbal botanical smell from the organic tattoo salve used that permeates the room. The hard wood floors and decor are tasteful and classy. It is exceptionally clean and organized. The interaction between the staff is nothing short of hilarious. The banter is like something from a sitcom and instead of wincing at the needle, I spent half of my sitting laughing and joking with the guys. They do everything they can to make you comfortable and at ease, which is all very natural to the attitudes of the people themselves. It arises organically and isn't something you can duplicate or synthesize. I've gotten ink in several states and from several shops. I'm not going anywhere else. Best experience I've ever had. I recommend this for a first time getting a tattoo on an 18th birthday or for the experienced ink collector adding another piece to the collection.

Jon was a sweetheart and talked me through my design as well as the placement. The day of my appointment, I arrived at the shop and Jon had two options for my design. The stencil took about an hour to place but that was mostly due to the placement of the design which was a mandala on my shoulder. I appreciate that Jon took care of where my design was placed and ensured it was symmetrical on my body. Overall, the tattoo took 3 hours, for the first two hours I listened to music since the tattoo machine sound bothers me but for the last hour I chatted with Jon. He is a great artist and has years of experience. 10/10 would recommend anyone to visit this shop!

I ended up making some last minute adjustments. The final design was even better than what I imagined. She took care to make sure I was happy with the placement of the design before starting. We had great conversation through the entire process. I left with very detailed instructions of how to care for my tattoo. She based the design on something my late husband had created when we first started dating, checked with me repeatedly about the approach she was taking, and fundamentally ensured I knew she was keenly aware of the importance of that work. You can get tattoos in hundreds of places in Charlotte alone. Haylo Healing Arts Lounge is where you go when the work matters, when you need heart and soul injected as well as the ink.
