We did not know this place before it changed recently but we were not impressed. There were food stains on the bench seat. The menu was very limited. However, we could work with it. My "Create Your Own" pasta had the pesto which was edible, but my wife had the garlic sauce and it had no flavor except garlic. Worse, the pasta was very overcooked, to the point of being mush. They quickly replaced it but the sauce was still too way too much. My friend's pizza looked good and he had no complaints. Another friend liked the fish stew. Christian is the BEST bartender on the island of Puerto Rico! He offers suggestions, he's patient and he doesn't hover over guests! He is polite and professional! The perfect amount of small talk! I have eaten here twice and the quality of the food is very good! I love the Mediterranean salad, alone or with the shrimp. They do have sports playing on TVs. There are two entrances. You can come in from Tartak or the hotel. There is a pay a fee parking lot. Not sure if they validate. Good food and wine! Good vibes! read more

When we arrived, the customer service was excellent and we were seated immediately! Contrary to what Yelp says, my experience is that they are closed on Mondays. The food: -The New Yorker: we ordered the large version of this pizza. It is HUGE, definitely enough for leftovers or a large family. I love that it is brick-oven style (their oven is in the veranda). Most importantly, it tasted great! -Papardelle con Bolognese : Delicious!!!! Wow, it was incredibly disappointing last night to go to our favourite Italian on the island, and find the menu has been changed. The menu is now like so many others on the island, fried/americanized, kid friendly, unhealthy, and bland. We adored the previous Verace menu.... The seafood soup was one of the best things I have ever eaten. I'm sad that I will never get a chance to enjoy that with a delicious glass of wine. The food was perfectly crafted and seasoned. What a crime to change the menu! I'm sorry to say that unless they change the menu, we won't be back. We loved the service, food, and the atmosphere. For being hotel food, it was actually quite good. I have the Bolognese, which was ok, but my wife had a mixed seafood risotto that was really good. Each dish runs about 20-30 dollars average. Before that we, shared a salad, which tasted good, but came with some bad pieces that I had to set aside. Lastly, my kiddo had a pepperoni pizza, it was pretty good as well. All in all, 4 stars based on the taste of the main dishes and decent customer service. Be warned, it gets expensive quick, but if you don't mind paying some $, then I would recommend giving this place a try....at the very least, there's free wifi inside. read more

We were needing a pizza and wanted a crispy one. This restaurant is in a hotel (verdanza) and they will let you park for free if you eat. The pizza had great die and crust. The meats were delicious. We added caramelized onions. The Caesar salad was plenty for 2 and small pizza was plenty for 2 . The tomato jam in the salad was good and we ate it with the toasted bread. After a few days of eating lots of Puerto Rican cuisine we were in the mood for some Italian food and pizza. After reading all the reviews on Yelp for pizza places near our Airbnb, Verace caught our attention and it was four blocks away. We ordered a Caesar salad that was more than enough for the four of us and we each ordered a small pizza. Well their small pizza was enough for two people to share so needless to say we took home leftovers. The crust was perfectly cooked in their wood burning oven and the sauce and toppings were on point. Our server was very attentive and made some very good suggestions. The arugula and prosciutto was good as was the artichoke, olive, mushroom and ham. My cousin ordered their spicy special and yes it was very spicy. We all took home lunch for the next day but my wife had her leftovers for breakfast. Good place I'd go back to try their other offerings. read more

Came here for dinner to have a night of non Spanish food. I ordered the pizza and so did my friend. And his company ordered the steak with chimichurri sauce and fries. My significant other ordered the chicken Parmesan dish. We all shared the calamari and truffle fries. I must say the fries were crunchy but I didn't taste any truffle. The calamari was way too chewy for me. As far as the pizza goes, it took almost an hour to come, after my boyfriend and friend finished their food. I had asked for pepperoni and truffle on my pizza and I didn't taste the truffle on it either. My friend enjoyed her steak and her boyfriend enjoyed his cheese pizza. My boyfriend wasn't crazy about the chicken Parmesan, the pasta itself had good flavor though. Definitely not somewhere I'd try again as there is so many other food options out there. So many good things to say, first is amazing Italian food. Pizza, pasta, salad, main dishes were all delish, can't go wrong with anything. Pasta were fresh, pizza dough is on point topping were awesome. We tried everything, portion sizes are decent and flavor is perfect. Even a simple Casear salad was done with a twist that made the dish memorable. Second,the drinks, juices were fresh, Pina colada was on point. As a retired chef from NYC (The Ritz Carlton, Intercontinental, UN Plaza Hotel) and aspiring pizzaiola in training I have to say I was more than surprised how wonderful my experience at Veracruz turned out to be. First off, the old fashion I ordered was top notch. My wife and I shared the Cesar Salad and it did not disappoint. Fresh and delicious with freshly made dressing and croutons.We followed up with a small pie with artichoke, ham, olives, fresh mozzarella and fresh basil cooked to perfection in a wood fired oven imported from Italy. The service was impeccable ( I wish I could remember the server's name but she was perfect.) Best meal during our entire trip at Verace in the Verdanza Hotel. For an appetizer we had fresh borrata with pesto, arugula, tomatoes and focaccia. Amazing. Then the boys had a special appetizer of pork belly bao buns. Spectacular. I had the best chicken parm I've ever had with Al dente pasta aglio e olio. Pankoish crusted crispy giant chicken cutlet with just the right amount of sauce to not overpower and melted mozzarella all over. Crispy, juicy, yummy. One son had a special parpadelle with mushrooms cream sauce and sausage. Phenomenal. The other had Pasta Carbonara that he says is the best he's had. For dessert we had 3 different types of flan: fig and goat cheese, orange and lastly manchego. TO. DIE. FOR. All eaten in a totally chill venue with excellent service and killer passion fruit juice.
