I have some very specific requirements for eye wear. I have been using glasses for 35 years and in that timeframe I learned a few things. First you want a place that stands behind their work, and then you want a place that has a lab that stands behind their work and then you want people who have an inventory to meet your needs. Verb Eyeware is one such place. My requirements are met easily. They can do high index 1.74 transition lenses on a base 10 curve for bifocals. Not too many places do bifocals these days with that specs, especially with my power. It means that I get thin lenses that still looks sexy and not thick boogles. I have placed an order with a larger diameter reading on a progressive Lens to see how I like that in the long run since bifocals are so 20th century. The prices are not bad and they can process my VSP insurance not limiting me to VSP materials. The owners know their stuff and are very helpful. I understand the shop owners are new to the area but not new to the business. They are hip to fashion trends and they have the experience to boot, and they have a lab that has been in the business for decades to get things done right. I'm happy with the bifocals I'm waiting on the progressive frames Worth the drive and at least parking isn't a huge issue. I'll update when I get my progressive Lens read more

I had to get a new prescription on my progressive sun glasses. 2 different places quoted me $400. On my way to Whole-food I saw Verb Eyeware and stop by to get an estimate. Jay is very nice and professional. He quoted me around $200. I was so excited.He gave me 3 price option and let me know which option would be good for my eyes and the kind of glasses I have. I've been coming here for years - so I got nervous when they updated the store and frames since I thought it would goose up the prices. Was I ever wrong! Not only did the prices remain as low as any I've found in overpriced L.A. (and I'm always prowling for a bargain), but Paulette and Jay's fashion sense was spot-on. Usually I try a ton of frames - and I don't always trust sales people - especially the Melrose boutiques ("You look *fabulous* in those darling!") - but Paulette took one look and said 'Here - try these' - and that was it. Hip frames with just the right amount of cool - plus they were cheaper than the 'sale' price of Eyes on Main or LA Eyeworks - with none of the snootiness. Paulette and Jay couldn't have been any nicer. Maybe it's because they're on the 2nd floor, but the prices are less than Costco(!) and with a much, much better selection. read more

I went to Linden Optometry and I was thinking of purchasing these Gucci frames, my cousin suggested before I purchase them to check out Verb Eyeware. They had a pretty great selection of designer frames and the prices were WAAYY better. I bought Gucci frames which came with a certificate of authenticity, a case, cloth and extra cloth from Verb Eyeware and a Gucci carrying bag. I wasn't ready with my prescription when I went, but I am going to go back for them to do my lenses also. Honestly, the price is much better getting your lenses done here too! If you go, take your prescription with you just in case, because chances are, you are going to find good frames and you just want to do it all in one visit. Staff was friendly and totally tolerated me asking them to try on this and that frame. read more

Ive noticed this place several times recently, as I frequent Whole foods regularly and they were doing work on the shop(New Owner), but had never gone in as I wasn't in need of any new glasses...Well that didn't last. I literally was in Whole Foods when my glasses made their way from my shirt pocket (yes I'm that clumsy) to the floor and my lens popped out of the frame. I also lost those little small screw thingies. Anyways, I needed help with putting my lens back in ( I cant see/drive without them). Luckily this place was in the same area/lot and they were open. I originally was just going to ask if they could put my lens back in the frame, but after talking to the owner(very friendly) and browsing their inventory while they fixed my glasses, I ended buying two pairs of frames. I was pleasantly surprised with the great prices and the customer service. The turnaround on the prescription fill was very fast. I will be telling my friends and family to try this place out. Basically, I'm glad I had a reason to come into this shop and you should stop by as well. read more
