While visiting the Frost Science Museum, I wanted a snack before my friends arrived. I was told their food was only accessible after admission. I was meeting my friends outside so I chose to look for an alternative. I checked Yelp for close-by food options and found Verde at PAMM (just across the courtyard). At 10:30, food options were very limited. I selected the Caprese Sandwich which was very good but I felt the pricing was high. Also, it was one of the few items on the limited menu that was of interest. I believe the restaurant was opening in another half hour but I didn't have the time. The sandwich was very light and refreshing but the real bonus was the outdoor seating with a view of the bay. Perfect! It was a great day to be outside and the view, people watching and breeze were a huge and unexpected bonus. It made this a much better experience. Impression: came for brunch on a lovely day with my twin friends and we ordered the blossom pizza and sweet potato pancakes- both were well done and service was warm and very hospitable l. Bright and refreshing place to brunch and do yoga on sat mornings What we ordered Sweet potato pancakes- three rolled pancakes that had the glutinous starchiness feel of sweet potatoes that still maintained fluffiness and pancake lightness. It had a blueberry compote with walnut bits on top and a dallop of fresh cream. I think this can easily make someone full- don't underestimate its carbohydrate tummy expansion powers Blossom pizza- definitely a creative ingredient- heh used a squash blossom! That's right- orange pumpkin blossom on top of zucchini slices and a really well flavored sauce under the cheese that truly gave the pizza it's flavor. The sauce looked well marinated and house made with spices and herbs. Crust was nice and thin and def can be eaten without feeling too full afterwards Service- we had a gracious and very warm waitress. Thank you for being attentive and making great suggestions. Ambiance and decor- it's an art museum but the style is more light brunch feeling than an Art Deco, urban, abstract, or surreal or Monet feel. I would say it's got light pastel colors and had a rustic feel. Watching almost 100 people do yoga outside your window on a sat morning is quite nice too- you can def do yoga before coming to brunch! There were 6 of us yesterday for lunch after visiting the exhibitions, we were starving and ordered a lot of food so we got to try out different things. Most dishes were ok, like the sunchokes and the empanadas (a little too greasy for my taste but ok). The pizza is delish, but the burgers were a DISASTER. Bread was so stale I had to remove the top. My friend also ordered one and could not eat her bread either. Sauce was a chunk in the middle of the rough top part. Weird burger, never ordering that again. This is not my first time here but it's my first time to review. I met up for lunch with coworkers here. It was a gorgeous Miami day, not too hot so we opted to eat outdoors. To start off the meal we ordered a refreshing pitcher of white sangria. We also ordered a few appetizers. We had the hummus and ahi tuna poke. They we're both superb. For our main course three of us ordered the Kimchi Salmon and one of us got the lobster pizza. I was happy that I could order my salmon medium rare cause I don't like my salmon fully cooked. We were all extremely happy with the salmon. It had a nice light crunch on the exterior and was very flavorful. Not too spicy. I tasted the lobster pizza and it was equally as delicious. The ambience of being outside in this beautiful architectural space is more than enough so it's great that the food stands up to the grandness of this venue. read more

I was not impressed by this restaurant at all. I probably would not return unless I was coming to the museum. I would not return to just come to the restaurant. There was an event the day we wanted to come to this restaurant. We wanted to make reservations first because we figured it would be busy. So we called them a few days in advanced but when we would call we would get no answer. After multiple days of calling we decided to show up to the restaurant early to get a table. The host was there early but she was adamant that we could not reserve any tables until it was 11am on the dot. This did not sit well with many people who were waiting to sit which included us. We ended up sitting inside which we did not want to but we had no choice. The waitress was not as harsh as the hostess. She was actually pretty great. She served us quickly and explained the menu as well. I wanted a cocktail and despite my urge to get bottomless mimosa I went with a drink instead. The server recommended the margarita. Got the margarita. All I have to say is HORRIBLE. Do not get this drink. It was poorly made. Tasted of straight lime. I did not want to take it back because I hate doing that so I tried out the michelada. Also not good. Saw my friend enjoying her mimosa and thought... man I messed up. For food I got the lobster benedict. It was a good choice. Tasted ok. Nothing to brag about. My son got the pizza. Also ok. If the views weren't so beautiful this place would flop. Had a business lunch at Verde and was so excited to finally give it a try. On a sunny but breezy afternoon, we opted to sit outside. Since the terrace is completely shaded, they have heaters which was a surprise but welcome touch (who says it doesn't get cold in Miami?). The menu isn't overwhelming but lots of dishes caught my eye. I went for the warm shrimp salad after hearing so much about it. Our food came fast, making it a great lunch bet if you don't necessarily have all the time in the world. The salad itself was delicious. The shrimp were super plump and cooked perfectly. As an avocado fiend, I loved having some of that mixed in as well. I'm not going to lie, I left still hungry. Next time, I would definitely get something to accompany the salad like dessert or an app, but know that it would cost a pretty penny. Here, I think you're paying for more than just the food (which is very high quality), but also the atmosphere. I hadn't been to the museum in some time and loved seeing they now have more outdoor seating for relaxing and taking in views of the bay. Case and point? I'm not sure if I would go out of my way to come here for a meal but for business meetings or a bite after touring the museum, I'm all in! read more

I wish I lived closer to verde because it's one of my favorite restaurants. The food, staff and the waterfront view are all spectacular. My most recent experience really made a huge impact on my boyfriend and I. We usually go for breakfast/brunch and try to have Dan as our waiter (ask for him, he's the best). We always have the sweet potato pancakes as appetizer, and Ill most likely do the frittata for myself. This time we decided we wanted to have something different so Dan recommended the wild mushroom pizza. We expressed to him our hatred for mushrooms, we are totally against them, the look, the texture, just not a fan. He insisted we trust him, and convinced us to get the pizza. Dan is the man! We haven't stopped talking about this pizza and the fact that we we're okay with the mushrooms on it cause it was so good! I can't wait to go again soon! However, you don't have to go the museum to go there! I was in here with my two daughters after visiting the PAMM. While exploring the Perez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) I strongly suggest a visit to the in-house restaurant, Verde. We were quickly seated outside for lunch. Our waiter was attentive, and the food was delivered promptly. We had wahoo ceviche with sweet potato slices, mahi-mahi tacos, warm shrimp salad, and French fries with an aioli Mustard dipping sauce. All of the food was exquisitely seasoned and cooked to perfection. Water glasses were kept filled, and a manager even came by to chat and make sure everything was okay. The ambiance of Miami is present, from the arty upscale diners to the views and breezes of Biscayne Bay. A seaplane on final to Watson Island even came in right beside the restaurant! Stephen Starr Catering has done a great job at this and other venues in South Florida. And after your meal, you are able to re-enter the PAMM. I would definitely dine here again.! read more

I work very close and walk around here all the time, and decided to go in for brunch, as I had been recommended. The service was on point, very friendly, however I asked for tomatoe ketchup and a knife - we were missing one , and then just recd the ketchup - could not be bothered to ask again for a knife so pinched one from the other table as I had two mini friends with me (5 n 7) and time is of the essence when you are with hungry little ones. They had the pancakes - shared between them, I tried them and they were nice and light and fluffy and came with side additions should you want to add to them of crème fraiche - which had a lot of suger in them, tasted delicious, but maybe too sweet for some people? maply syrup, sugared nuts and apple slices in a very sweet Syrup - again probably too sweet for some people. I opted for salmon with poached egg with chipped potatoes and a salad on the side. It looked good, but everything on the plate was cold.... not a good start, and one of the poached eggs (there are two) was nearly cooked through, not runny as it should be. The salad was only one green leaf - no vinaigrette or dressing on it, so does this constitute as a salad?? and potatoes so so..The decor inside is rather stark imo - the views are nice....but if you are a foodie like me - I would go again IF I was with someone who wanted to go - but I would by pass myself, as Miami has SOOOO many other places to try. ---------------- I came again....and ordered a hamburger with fries - again not impressed... am I missing something? fried were awful, the bun too doughy, just average, average.... my little ones with me had the pancakes which they always have, to share, there are good but extremely heavy. Verde can boast about its view and its food. Both are damned impressive. Situated on the back side of the Perez Art Museum, the restaurant overlooks the bay with about 15 to 20 tables on a huge patio under an equally huge pergola which provides ample shade. Oh, and there's indoor seating too with windows, but... why? If you can get a table, sit outside. Therein laid my issue however. The hostesses have some serious problems managing reservations and seating. Getting a table inside generally is not an issue. Getting a table outside is another matter. We had a reservation for two for an outside table. We were told when we got there that outside tables are first-come-first-served and the wait would be at least an hour and a half. We explained that we were told otherwise. After initial pushback, they managed to find us a table but we still waited at least 30 minutes. It wasn't a huge issue, but they lacked professionalism in dealing with the throngs of people - several hostesses made excuses and stood around checking their phones and shrugging their shoulders. Once seated, the waitress was very good however and the waitstaff seemed to work well together. We were taken care of and there were no further issues. We ordered tuna tartar to start which was among the best I've had on the east coast. An ample portion, it was unctuous and smooth and rich and not overwhelmed by sauce. We then had steak and eggs and salmon Benedict. The steak was slightly over cooked, but the whole dish was very good nevertheless. The sauces enhanced both proteins and the skirt steak was tender. The salmon Benedict was equally good. Perfectly poached eggs and a hollandaise sauce that did not overpower the other flavors. The salmon was better than expected - fresh taste, good fat ratio, and no fishy taste. We finished with a salted caramel chocolate tart which was so rich and sensational that it was embarrassing to eat. Regardless, we gobbled it up like it was going out of style. The meal was well-paced and the price was more than fair given the location and quality of food. I would definitely return my next time in Miami. Try it on a less busy day though. read more

Since my last review, my husband and I have been back several times for lunch, and the food continues to be consistently delicious. My hubby always get the cheeseburger with bacon and I got the Perez salad. We do change the cocktails - I got the Charred Pineapple Mojito which deserves 2 thumbs up. My husband got the Bloody Mary and Rum Runner - both of which he loved. We also got their spiked coffee for dessert but I substituted the whiskey for for Baileys and it was sooooo good! Verde is the restaurant at the Perez Art Museum of Miami (PAMM). It has a pretty varied menu with appetizers, salads, pizzas, and sandwiches. It also has a nice wine list. We had pizzas - the Margherita, and the Butter Nut and Fig. Both were excellent - lots of cheese and tomatoes on the Margherita and lots of squash, dried figs, gorgonzola and hazelnuts on the other. We sat outside and, while it was pretty empty, the views and comfortable temperatures made for a nice couple of hours. This was my 4th or 5th time there and I will definitely go back. Over priced crappy food and drinks. I ordered a mojito which was $14 and did not taste any alcohol so I ordered a shot of rum on the side $12. I poured half the shot so it wouldn't be too strong, still no alcohol taste at all so I added the rest of the shot and nothing, thought that was strange so I tasted the little bit at the bottom of the shot glass, let me just say it was mostly water. This American-Style Restuarant & Bar sits waterfront and has some of the most mesmerizing views of Biscayne Bay. I could write an essay on the sights but for the sake of the review I'll get to the point. :) The Menu is pretty small but don't be fooled, the food is packed with a decent amount of flavor that you won't forget. It is comprised of a select few starters, salads, pizzas, individual entrees, and a few desserts. I dined their during lunch hours. You'll love the design of the restuarant and service was pretty speedy. This is always a plus when you are hungry. But either way you'll probably end hypnotized by the waterfront views. 5 of us came here for lunch on a recent Friday at around 1:15. We weren't visiting the museum or attending an event at the PAMM; On the contrary, we'd just heard great things about this restaurant and wanted to give it a try. We arrived with no reservation and were seated within about 3 or 4 minutes. Our server was there right away to offer waters and to answer any questions we might have about the menu. I ordered the chicken under a brick with Yukon potatoes and chimichurri sauce. Others at our table ordered the squash blossom pizza, roast chicken club and the prosciutto pizza. Everyone seemed happy with their meals. The two of us that ordered the chicken under a brick both seemed to have the same opinion: The chicken was very salty, the chimichurri sauce wasn't the best either of us had tried, but we'd both be willing to order this dish again. For dessert, we requested 2 orders of their sugarcane donuts with dulce de leche and coffee dipping sauces for the table to share. The donuts were quite good but not outstanding (and probably not worth the calories). After trying both the dipping causes, the dulce de leche was the clear winner IMO. 4 of us ordered cappuccino or espresso to finish off the meal. Total bill for the 5 of us was $113.44 before gratuity, or $22.68 each once split 5 ways, which the staff was happy to do. Regarding décor and ambiance, Verde is located inside a concrete structure with full height glass walls on 2 sides which give outstanding views of Government Cut where the cruise ships dock, and the area where the former Miami Herald building was located. The concrete ceiling is lined with hanging reams of tan fabric, which along with the wooden tables and chairs make this place feel warm and give it the feeling and appearance of a European style bistro. Outdoor seating is pretty spectacular as well, and one can walk down to the waters' edge from outside the Verde restaurant. read more
