I had an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience with Verity Van Lines during my recent move. The service was careless, resulting in extensive damage to my home and belongings. My television was broken, my newly refinished living room floor was destroyed, and my dining table was chipped. The wood floors on my stairs--recently redone--were left with deep gouges. My newly painted walls were also scuffed and scratched during the move. Despite my efforts to protect my home by covering the hallway floor, the movers removed the protective covering without my consent, which caused further damage. To make matters worse, my belongings were not placed where I requested. Instead, items were left scattered throughout the house and garage, with no regard for my instructions or organization. The behavior of the on-site job manager was completely unprofessional. His conduct became so inappropriate that I had to ask him to leave my home and immediately contacted the main office. Shockingly, he returned shortly afterward and continued to be rude. I had to ask him to leave a second time and called the office again to report his behavior. I was told I had to sign off on the move, even though I was clearly unhappy with the condition of my home and belongings. Feeling pressured, I asked the employee to write "refused to sign" on the document before I signed it, just to get them to leave. Afterward, one of their managers contacted me by phone. They were very apologetic and promised to "take care of it," but also asked that I please not write a review. I filed a formal claim, spending many hours documenting all the problems, writing a detailed report, and submitting photos and receipts for repairs. The manager eventually visited my home, saw the damage firsthand, and told me that two workers from that crew had been fired as a result. After several months, Verity Van Lines offered me just $66--a payment specifically to fix the chipped dining table. Their final offer included misinformation claiming I had repaired damage without their inspection, which is completely untrue. This entire experience was stressful, costly, and handled with a complete lack of accountability. I strongly caution anyone considering Verity Van Lines. Their service was not only unprofessional and damaging, but their response afterward was dismissive and insulting. read more

A very Typical (lying, sleazy, low class, thieves) Moving Company. BEWARE. I have moved all over the country, Five Times, and have experienced every type of moving company there is. On a scale of 1-10, I'd rate Verity Van Lines Inc. from Seaford, NY as a BIG ZERO. Like other sleazy moving companies they quote you one price and then after you sign a contract, the price goes up. My sales representative, is like most. In that when his lips are moving, he's lying. Salvatore Preiato promised me that he has been doing this all of his life and he over estimated the weight of my items so that I will be safe AND even if he was wrong that I would have a 10% price guarantee. He said that after they get my furniture picked up that I would see both before and after weigh bills. Never saw anything. Naturally, the price went up after they took my furniture away. Then they changed the arrival date, so my belongings sat on a truck for two weeks in Seaford, NY. On several occasions they told me that they only carry insurance for $00.60 (60 cents) a pound and that I should increase it at an additional charge.I declined. It wasn't until my furniture arrived (3 weeks later) that I was told that if there is any damage that they were only responsible for what "THEY PACKED". I packed everything except 3 items. And I When I found damaged items, I called "Sal" he never returned my calls until I threatened to write bad reviews. Then he called me and told me to send him photos of the damage and he will take care of it. I never heard from him again. When I called their office I was told that he was on vacation and that I needed to complete a claim form that they would mail me. I'm still waiting for that. I also asked, "Why would I purchase extra insurance, if they were not responsible for 99% of my shipment? Answer: It's the law. Huh? It's the law to offer me more insurance and not tell me that they are not responsible for anything that they don't pack. In summary, They are lying, sleazy, low class, thieves of a moving company just like many of the others. Learn from my mistake. Overall, very pleased. Mine was a big intra-state move. The teams of people that worked on this were mostly mature people who know what they are doing. There was one serious deficiency which causes me to rate four rather than five stars. Despite their otherwise solid professionalism, a number of members of the team do not understand about boundaries and honoring the privacy of the clients. For instance, one of the packers said things like "do you really need all of these...?" Yikes! Are we required to explain ourselves to you? How is this an appropriate thing to ask? And yet the same thing happened with others, when they were unloading at our destination. A number of members of the team, including Gordon, the head guy, expressed curiosity, and asked direct questions about the contents of some crates. They were heavy crates, weighing about 150-200 pounds each, but was it appropriate that the movers felt the need to speculate and make direct inquiries about our property? It was more than a little weird. I am a very warm, easy going person and I suspect they felt really comfortable with me. But, truly, this should be basic stuff, and the fact that multiple people were involved at different stages of the move indicates that the staff needs training on this issue. But given the scope of the move and the overall quality of the work, I would use them again. read more

I was moving from LI to South Carolina and as confused as anyone. I got quotes from $4000 to $ 5800. Only one came to the house. I was feeling uneasy and called a very local mover and he said to try Verity. They sent someone the next day. He came up with almost 7 thousand pounds using an i pad to quote. I couldn't believe it was that much. I called the owner Mike who agreed to stop by and take a look. He felt the estimate was reasonable. I learned many of these companies buy space on other shippers trucks. I was told the people that loaded my stuff were the same ones who would deliver it. I also wanted our fragile things packed professionally. I went with Verity. The day before the scheduled move 2 men showed up and packed all our breakables. On the day of the move Gino showed up with 2 men and proceeded to protect the floors and banisters with cardboard then move all our belongings out. They were unbelievable. They were so cautious packing the truck so everything was in tight. They took the truck to be weighed and it was right what said it would be. They had a week to deliver to SC and came a day early. Same efficiency unloading. We were in a furnished rental so Gino packed all our stuff that wasn't clothes or food neatly in the garage. I can not say enough about using a local mover because it is stressful enough on it's own. read more

Verity Van Lines was amazing from start to finish. Rob came to our home and discussed our options and gave us our quote right there on the spot. He explained everything to us, answered our questions, was extremely professional and well organized. The move happened when it was scheduled and our movers, Kyle and Fred were so professional and they took such good care of all the items being moved. We had a split move where part of the move went to one location and the rest went out of state. We were so happy that the same movers. Kyle and Fred would be delivering our items to each place. We were expecting the final delivery within about 10 days and they were able to get to us in 4! Kyle and Fred took great care of unloading our items in the pouring rain. Since they couldn't get the big truck down the drive, they had to bring everything down from the road. They were respectful of our home and brought everything in efficiently and quickly. i am so happy to write this review. Verity is amazing! We recently made the move from Long Island to North Carolina. Rob was wonderful to deal with, from the very first day we met, he was very patient and understanding, as I kept asking questions and changing my inventory list. He understood I was anxious about the move and always made be feel comfortable when I called. Gordon and his crew were the best to deal with. They treated us as if we were their own family and our belongings were their own. It has been my pleasure to work with Rob, Gordon, Mark, Jayson( & Eugene & Sean down here in NC). Our experience with Verity was wonderful. We moved from Long Island to Raleigh, NC, during Hurricane Sandy. From the first meeting with our account manager, Sal Preiato, to discuss the move, to the very last item moved, we could not have asked for a better experience. Our move was scheduled the day that Sandy hit Long Island, and within a few days after Steven and his crew had all our stuff on their truck and met us in NC the next day, despite the storm and then the snowstorm that was on it's way. Sal went out of his way to get in touch with us and worked hard in getting us rescheduled during a time when there wasn't even cell phone service in most areas. Steven and his crew were extremely careful and helpful with our items, even taking the time to wrap up items like a baby mobile that had over 100 individual stars. Everyone was incredibly accommodating and professional. At the time, we were a family of four with a third kid on the way. Steven and everyone in his group made the moving experience enjoyable during a very difficult time. We can't recommend Verity highly enough. read more

Verity moved 28 years worth of our memories, furntiture and valuables 90 miles from Greenlawn LI to Deal NJ - they were great - it was a 2 day move, but Nelson, Fred & Will and the rest of the guys were truly outstanding, they took what is one of the most stressful things in life and actually made it fun. All of our valuables were wrapped, packed and delivered in perfect condition. After vetting 5 moving companies, we choose Verity- they were the first one that we interviewed, Rob was a great representative, he explained everything to our satisfaction, then even called a few days before the scheduled move to discuss the pending bad weather predicted for the day of our move, offering to move up our move a day to avoid the rain and severe wind conditions. Attention to the small details makes all the difference. Take it from me, all movers charge roughly the same price, but that's where the similarities end. I would use Verity again in a hearbeat and I reccomend anyone laboring with the pressure of choosing a moving company choose Verity! read more

Verity moved our possessions from Plainview, LI., NY to Florida, Jan. 2016 & I am still emptying cartons. Their moving crew & delivering guys were very nice, but here's the downside. I did not buy insurance & eleven items, all packed by Tom or John, arrived broken. I did most of the packing & not a single item that I packed was broken. Tom's belly brushed against a sconce, breaking off the top, & not even a "sorry". Verity compensated me $150 for all the damage & I signed a Will Not Sue affidavit. I tipped the crew $900 hoping that would prevent breakage. Estimate to ship one auto was $800, but I was charged $950, Verity claiming that the fee had increased after the contract was finalized. I am not trying to paint a totally negative picture, but I did expect a better outcome. When your items are delivered, the home owner signs a form that every mover uses. The form states that you received everything & all in good condition. If possible, I would suggest, don't sign until you are sure of that. read more

If I could give 10 plus stars I would!!!!! We were given Verity by another company who was too small to handle our job. From the very first phone call, we knew Verity was top notch. Rob came to our house and gave a full and honest assessment. We had several estimates and Rob just gave us a sense of security. We knew we were going to be in good hands, It was not until our move day that we realized how many good hands we would actually have. Our entire move team was amazing. They sent two trucks and six of the best movers we have ever used. The entire team was friendly, professional and incredibly hard workers. We had a difficult move and I was so impressed with the care they gave all of our possessions. They made a stressful situation so much easier. The team worked well together and got several very large, very heavy pieces up three flights of stairs. I would recommend Verity lines and our team to anyone! read more

The move from HELL!!!!!!! Broke items! Left us stranded overnight in our new home with just a bed frame and naked mattress. we had to go out and buy sheets, blankets, pillows etc to sleep. "we don't move after dark" they arrived at 9:45 for an 8:00 am move. Many items broken, missing. 2 Amazon Firesticks disappeared! Broke bookcase, glass top missing from table. Items were strewn throughout house as they ignored our requests to deliver specific items to certain rooms. 2 day move would have been completed by a REAL moving company in 1 day. They had what was clearly a homeless guy (who did nothing the entire move except ask for a taste of peanut butter from an open jar in the basement.)YIKES!!! PS I asked they to don masks THEY SAID "NO" They were not vaccinated as required by NYS law. A bunch of lowlife thugs. Igt felt like we were raped!!! I interviewed with 4 different companies, its been more than 33 years since our last move. This was a move from Long Island to Sunset Beach North Carolina. No doubt I was nervous making the decision on which Moving Company to hire and really glad I made the right decision. I met with Sal P. who answered all my questions and as it turns out was very accurate with his weigh estimate. Frank F. headed up his moving crew Lance, Fred, Eric and Derrick. They were professional, polite and really took care of our belongings with care. They picked up on time and delivered on time. It was very hot in both NY & NC, I felt really bad for them, but they never complained and they got the job done quickly and without any problems. We moved from Long Island, NY to North Carolina. Dennis and his team did an excellent job moving our assorted sized pre packed boxes and furniture. The team work like a well oiled machine moving our items out and on to the truck. We can not say enough about the care they took with every item moved. The unloading went equally as well. Everything arrived in excellent condition and in record time. The entire crew was friendly and very helpful. Their knowledge of dis-assembly and re-assembly of furniture was excellent. The entire crew were experienced and professional movers. We are not planning to move any time soon but, if we were Verity and Dennis would be our first choice of movers. I had two moves going on at the same time and Verity coordinated everything beautifully for me. One move was to Florida with Nelson and the crew and the local move in NY with Dennis and his crew. I could not have been more pleased. Both crews were professional, pleasant, accommodating and very patient! Not one minute of concern about how they handled my possessions. They wrapped everything, were extremely careful not to hit a wall and there was no breakage. I could go on and on. The best part was they were honest, on time, and STUCK TO THEIR QUOTES! There may be some companies out there like Three Brothers Moving but Verity Van Lines is the absolute best and I will definitely recommend them and use them again in the future. Dennis, Kyle, and Matt were some of the best movers I've ever had. They made the impossible happen on multiple occasions. They fit all of our stuff in a truck I was sure would not fit everything and they fit a couch, treadmill, and huge media unit through our tiny basement door. It took multiple attempts but they managed to do it and I am so grateful! Even though that complication happened, they still finished the move so quickly and seamlessly. The way these guys work together is pretty incredible to watch. You can tell they have a system and that they've been working together for over a decade. PERFECT. Our move was perfect in every way. Steven, Erick, and the rest of the crew exceeded all of our expectations. They were fast, careful, and fully committed to protecting our belongings. Nothing was broken, dented, or crushed. Nothing was missing. Every object and box was in exactly the same condition as when it left New York. Moving can be an extremely stressful event. Steven and Erick reduced our stress signifigantly by taking time to show us all the measures they were using to protect everything they loaded onto the van. I cannot understand why there would be negative comments about Verity Van Lines. When my husband and I needed to move our household from New York to North Carolina, we contacted Rob at Verity. He was prompt and courteous, the price and the timeframe were a fit for us. To insure the integrity of the business, I googled Verity Van Lines, Inc. To my dismay, there were unfavorable comments posted. I called the company to question the allegations; with assurance from Rob, that we would not be displeased, I signed the contract....they were fantastic. The entire moving process could not have gone better. Dennis and his team packed us up and delivered everything to our home in North Carolina from Long Island . They showed up on time were professional and worked very hard until the job was done. We had an entire trailer full and they could not get it up our driveway, so they had to hand truck everything up. No groaning or moaning they just went to work and in less then 12 hours they were done. I cannot say enough good things about this group from start to finish. We could not have been more than pleased with Verity. Gordon headed the group of packers who provided careful, efficient services with the removal of our possessions from our home in Wantagh. A few days later Gordon and his brother arrived at our new home in Leland, NC. Again our possessions were unpacked and they were in perfect condition. I had a certified check in a higher amount than the quote price I was given. The cost of the move was lower than the quote price. I received my refund by the end of the week.
