He was able to help us transfer my AT&T number to Verizon, trade in my old AT&T phone for a credit towards my new one, and just made the whole process easy. The staff is only interested in helping you if you are buying an expensive phone and plan. I asked for prepaid pay as you go and was told " you don't want that - it can get real expensive.". Uh, I think that's why I wanted to avoid an expensive, long term commitment?! There aren't many staff and they are listless and unhelpful. One lady was crying because all her messages had been erased. There's almost no displays, the place is hot and crowded. Go somewhere else. read more

I dreaded going in to upgrade my iPhone... in the past it has been a painful, long, drawn-out, confusing miserable experience. I'm happy to say that this experience was 5-Star thanks to Vincent, who was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and accommodating. He greeted me in the newly renovated space at the mall, which is very comfortable and easy to navigate. Vincent was very professional, courteous and he answered all of my questions and helped me choose the right option for me. He did not try to hard sell anything, which was very refreshing. Ugh-- terrible customer service. Rude. No service with a smile. I give it 2 stars because they did know how to program a new cell phone and get the job done. But it was a miserable shopping experience. Would not return!! the 18th street location is much better-- they bend over backwards to make you happy. This place the people barely said hello. Once again, as usual, I only give credit where credit is due. Looking at these past reviews I was a little hesitant to give them my business, however as soon as I walked in Joe Slavin greeted me with a smile and asked how he could help me. I didn't feel pressured, he wasn't pushy. I sold cars for 5years and let me tell you, if it wasn't for the customer service and knowledge he provided, I wouldn't have walked out with a new plan. If you live in the Clarendon metro area, avoid Verizon wireless. Their service is out frequently, and when the service is available it often downshifts to 3G or no-data transmission at all. After calling their service dept a half dozen times and hearing "we'll look into it" the service, if anything, has gotten worse. I converted an iPhone to AT&T before moving an iPad and Mac Pro over. And during the same period the AT&T service was far superior and very often orders of magnitude faster. During a maintenance call to verizon I ran speed checks on both services, the verizon techs were not amused when I informed them the at&t service was 10 times faster. Their response was that the most likely reason was the iPad 3 was an obsolete model(?), yet they couldn't explain why the same device worked at the same performance level as the AT&T service while in NY and LA, heck even in KY. After that call I gave up on trying to get the problems with service addressed. Based on my experience with both services I recommend avoiding Verizon wireless. read more

It was refreshing to get quick and great service in the DC area but "TJ" was dope, he helped me get the best plan and got me the best hotspot for wifi available. verizon has the best provider service, however their customer service skills have yet to be the worst ever. came in to the store to ask a question and montell was the one to "assist" me. he seemed as if i was not of importance like all the other customers around me and had the worst attitude ever. he rushed me through my service of figuring out account information, while focused on other activities that seemed to be of more importance. then when explaining the information, his tone and demeanor was not of "customer service" style. hmmmm...maybe because i wasn't purchasing anything from him and my time wasn't worth a commission. i will stick with verizon to be my provider, but i will go to another location for customer service where being a loyal customer and consumer is of utmost importance to the employee. I had a horrible experience at a Verizon authorized dealer in another part of Arlington. So I decided to come here as it was close to my work. I had a great experience. Unlike the other location, I was greeted and helped right away. Staff were courteous, all greeting me and asking how I was. I was assisted by Forest- who was really nice and courteous. I left with my upgraded rose gold iPhone & Forest even checked to see if I had a company discount. This will definitely be my go to location going forward. read more

Wound up making two visits to this location when upgrading my phone, and was very impressed with the caliber of customer service both times. The staff was very candid and helpful in telling me about upcoming releases and alerting me to better deals that would be available in the coming weeks. Even when they would try to upsell me on accessories and new products, it was done without any sort of pressure. Michael Jackson Jones in particular was fantastic -- very personable, knowledgable, and patient when it came to setting up my new iPhone. I preordered my iPhone but wasn't able to complete activation due to a known issue of getting a certain point and then unable to swipe. The first store I went to was unable to fix it and since they didn't have any of mine in stock, sent me to this location. The first store was not very helpful at all. However Dwann at this location got me a new phone, was helping me through activation when the same issue happened again. He found out the issue was they had to do an update before activation. They were unable to do the update at that point so he walked me down to the Apple Store to see if they could fix it. They took me right away which I don't think would have happened if he wasn't with me. He stayed the whole time until it was fixed. He really went above and beyond, I was so thankful for his excellent customer service! read more

Is there a zero star option? That's how much I got accomplished in 2 hours at this Verizon Wireless location. I'll preface this incredibly negative review with this: I understand that employees are bound to uphold store policies. Now that I got that out of the way, I have never dealt with worse employees in my life. The first young lady who greeted me was very kind and she saw that I didn't have what I needed on my account in order to make adjustments. Specifically, I wasn't an 'account manager' and therefore, could not upgrade my phone. I gladly walked out of the store, knowing that this was a regular issue and I have had to work around it in the past. The primary account manager for my account made the phone call to have me added, verizon customer service experienced some confusion so my account was locked... they sent a verification code to a wrong number (security violation)... no big deal, honest mix up, we can fix this. After a couple back and forth conversations between myself, the primary account manager and customer service, we were told by customer service to go into this Verizon location to have the store call customer service to verify my identity. NO PROBLEM!... GREAT SOLUTION!... OMG that makes so much sense! So I go back to the store with a big smile on my face, knowing that we just found a way to solve the problem! I can give them money, and I can walk out with my shiny new iPhone. My nice girl was busy helping another customer, so I was hesitantly greeted by the 2nd worst employee in the world to whom I briefly explained what had transpired. She looked very unamused at the idea of earning her paycheck so she excused herself (politely) to go speak to her manager (worst employee in the world). He shook his head and his arms never uncrossed, looking unamused at the idea of earning HIS paycheck, and never looking up to see me staring at him, desperate for good news after the 2 hours of annoying phone calls seemingly getting nowhere. The 2nd worst employee in the world comes back and tells me (yes... this is real), "Our store policy is that we don't make outgoing phone calls." As amusing as this was, what should have been laughter, actually came out of my mouth as sarcastic jabs at how stupid their policy was and how ironic it was that Verizon Wireless had a policy to not make phone calls. I exited the store to verify that the sign did, indeed say Verizon Wireless, before scampering to an authorized verizon retailer in Alexandria who had me as an account manager, called customer service, and ordered my new phone within 25 minutes. read more

Sam was nothing short of outstanding. Had to return phone (that was ordered on line). It was defective. When I arrived Sam said he would be with me shortly and he was. He was very professional, pleasant and competent. In a day when customer service is often lacking, this was not the case with Sam. I was in and out of the store in no time even with the return and new selection. He represents Verizon very well and I hope the store recognizes this outstanding employee. read more

I walked in around 12:30p on a Tuesday to get an iPhone 6S. There were maybe two other customers in there. I don't know the name of the guy that greeted us, but then I was sent over to another person to ask what I was there for. I'm not sure what the point of the first guy was. I gave my name to the second guy and was told someone would assist me. It seemed like there were a lot of extra people to tell you to wait for a salesman. My friend asked one of the other salesmen if they had any 6S's since 7s and 8s are out now. He said he was 90% sure. Finally Joshua assisted me. I told him I wanted to buy an iPhone 6S and he flat out said "we don't have any." My friend said that the two other Verizon people had told us that they had some (the first guy that greeted us and the other salesman). With attitude, he said, "who told you that?" and we pointed out who did. We had to tell him that they told us that there were some in the back. He stormed off and came back with one saying that they must have gotten delivered this morning. His whole attitude from then on was uncalled for and quite rude. I He said he would give me instructions on how to set up the new iPhone and such but I never received them. I was so ready to get out of that place. I will not be returning here. read more
