The person assisting me pulls out his phone and starts watching the football game. With the sound on. While he was helping me?? Luckily his manager told him to quit it but things only went downhill from there. Got the phone traded in but they wouldn't activate it for me which was odd. After much back and forth I left. They were super unhelpful- the one associate had an AirPod in while helping customers which in my opinion is very unprofessional. Many hours later and after much chaos I got a Verizon store in Boston (Medford) to activate my phone remotely. My recommendation: unless you want to end your day in tears DO NOT come to this store. read more

What a Joke, I was on a chat 1 hour to cancel my mothers $30 land line service. After an hour when I complained this is the response I got. "I'd like to inform you that cancellation of service is not as simple as clicking a button. We have to go through a few pages, such as equipment return, final bill, and so on, to prepare the disconnect order to make sure everything is taken care of properly. Additionally, we are required to provide mandatory disclosures on chat before processing the order, which is why it's taking longer than you expect." We moved our cell phones from them a few years ago and will never go back. Do you think they may need to look at thier procedures. They can sign you up in minutes, but take an hour to disconnect. read more

He was pretty awesome, as he answered all of our questions and took care of an issue. I am appalled about the service from Verizon!!! We have had Verizon for many years and we have hit a wall this year. On October 31, we came home from a vacation and had no servIce for wireless, land line or television. Verizon technicians came out after having us reboot, etc., etc. Since then, we have had many LONG phone calls and a variety of technicians at the home. Here's the latest! The customer service is very poor in this location. Mainly the staff are extremely slow in dealing with customers. In rush hours you can expect to stay for a couple of hours for just buying a phone case. I asked for a shipping box to send my phone over to Verizon, the associate told it is ready but took them about an hour before giving it to me. Customers beware! I was switching from ATT and was helped by Wayne. It was weird. I had picked everything out online and was turning in phones, but they didn't have the phones I wanted so Wayne gave me a box to mail in my old phones and said to do that once the new ones came in. He wrote his number on a sticky note and said to call to finish the process when the phones came in. It felt weird, but I hadn't changed carriers in 19 years so trusted him. Wrong decision! Trust your gut. The new phones came and I called. He said he wasn't working and to call back the next day. I did and texted and got no response. I drove back to the mall and went in and the representative in the store had no clue what "finish the process" was and said everything should be good. Fast forward a few days and I want to figure out something with the account and find I can't sign in online. I chatted with support on the web and they said they couldn't help as I had to have set up something in the store and didn't know the pin. I was told I had to go back to a store and show my ID to get something reset. I did that today and was shocked to find that I had been signed up for things I didn't ask for and rather than saving money switching to Verizon, Wayne had increased my bill by several hundred dollars. This is not an exaggeration. The representative at this store (Alexandria) had to call tech support and it took nearly 90 minutes to sort things out. Avoid the Verizon in Pentagon City mall unless you have money you want to donate to Verizon and have hours to spend trying to sort out issues they cause. read more

This place is definitely to be avoided. First of all you walk into loud music. Then you see people sitting all around playing on their telephones and you realize they're waiting but nobody actually tells you that. Then at some point you find out you have to add your name to a list to get waited on. There is no one there to greet you when you walk in and take your name and added to the list so there would be no way of knowing . In trying to figure all this out and asking questions the employee I spoke to was rude and dismissive. The only reason I stopped in because it is close to where I work. I was told this place is terrible and that it is related to the fact it is corporate-owned and the employees don't care much about the customer. Somehow that sounds right to me. read more

This place is bad. Like real bad. Had an appointment at 6 and it took me 30 minutes to even be greeted. Once I was they said they had no record of my reservation and put me in line behind two others. I got a text that said I was third in line and that I'd receive a text when I was next so I went to the bathroom expecting to be texted if my turn was coming up. I came back to the store after about 10 minutes and multiple people who were signed in after me had already been helped. The man working said he couldn't find me when it was my turn and I explained that my text said I would be notified when I was next and he said the employees don't abide by that system. My dude and I took a big relationship step yesterday: putting him on my phone plan. We thought about doing it over the phone or online, but it's a confusing process, so we decided to take a trip to Pentagon City to the Verizon store. TJ immediately greeted us in between helping out someone else and was able to walk us through what we had to do. I was seriously impressed with how he was able to juggle helping multiple customers at the same time! He definitely knew his stuff; we walked out of the Verizon store with my dude added to my plan and with instructions on the next steps we had to take with my dude's old carrier. Do not go with Verizon internet in this area. We live in Alexandria, VA and got rid of Comcast due to the monopoly. Bad decision, sometimes you have to live with the evil monopoly until the market catches up. Here is our Verizon supplied internet tonight: "Internet speed test 015102050100+ 0.35 Megabits per second Testing upload... 0.06 Mbps download 0.35 Mbps upload Latency: 950 ms Server: Washington, DC You're online but... Your Internet download speed is slow. Web browsing should be fine, but videos could load slowly." Seriously...these are real results in the National Capital region in Nov 2016! We have talked to them numerous times in the past several months. Each time when they find out where we live, it's like that commercial with the guy in the cubicle, as he tells the customer on the phone, (whisper), "...switch to Comcast..." (or Cox, but we don't have access to Cox, thus the Comcast monopoly). Just saying folks, when I tell them that our internet is like DSL in 1998, they sigh and say "we understand, but there's nothing we can do". There is something they could do; First is to advise customers when the infrastructure in their area has not kept up with 21st century standards and they are still stuck with copper lines that AT&T installed four decades ago. Second they could let them out of their contract. You will hear more from us until resolution but DO NOT use Verizon for internet in this area. read more

There are extremely long wait times to get a simple question answered at this Verizon location. You can't just come in and ask about something, they make you sign in and wait forever until you're called on. We came in and stood in line at the service counter for quite some time and then learned we had to sign in and the wait for going to be over 45 minutes, needless to say we came back another time. The next time we signed in right when we got there, but the wait time wasn't much better, despite coming in during the week later in the evening and not right after work. I had to return a phone to the store because I ended up needing one with more memory. After already speaking with the customer service people on the phone earlier in the day and having them put a note in my account to ensure I wouldn't have a problem in the store, they still couldn't refund me for the correct amount in the store. So this meant that the store associate had to call customer service, despite having entered the store number, the customer service woman in the store had to wait on hold to talk to someone from customer service for more than half an hour. When she finally reached someone, they got disconnected which meant that I then had to wait in the store again while she was on hold! They definitely need a faster system for the people in the store to be able to access customer service via telephone because the fact that the store called customer service and had to wait on hold for so long just extended the wait time for everyone because while she was waiting on hold, the associate who was helping me just sat behind the counter and used her own cell phone, very unproductive! I came to the store with 2 of my friends because they also had questions about their plans and needed to order new phones. For one of the phones, he asked my friend to write her address down. She later learned that the phone was going to be sent to the wrong address because despite writing it down, he made up an address that didn't exist for her new phone to be shipped to! The phone was backordered, but even then customer service and Verizon couldn't later override the address. My other friend's experience was just as bad as she talked over her new plan options with a representative and thought she had everything all figured out, but the rep had to leave in the middle of helping her. Another rep continued and then said they couldn't make the changes the earlier rep had told her they could. Instead, he just wanted to get the commission, so he told her she'd have to wait until she received the new phones in the mail to make any plan changes, really? read more

They'll check you in when you arrive, but it means nothing. When I checked in I was "next". That was 50 minutes ago. So I stood at the desk and a woman asked if she could help me. I said, yes - I signed in 50 minutes ago. She said I was not on the list. Not the best system. But the gal then waited on me and was patient and helpful. So she took them from one star to 3! My experience here was surprisingly bad. Being a longtime customer I apparently incorrectly anticipated service that would not be so terrible. I don't have enough space to detail me experience so I will stick to the highlights. I was misled about the plan cost, misled about tax rates, told incorrect information about phone boot up and information transfer, given contract information of another customer, needed a second visit to clarify these issues - when I was then provided incorrect information again! I had to spend an hour on the phone with Verizon 1 800 service to resolve my issues. The 800 service rep was fantastic and apologized for the deplorable service I received. My mom and I walked in at 8:40 tonight (a Friday night) when the store closed at 9:30 PM (I know, I don't normally do that!). Eddie Camacho helped us out and was so kind and patient. He assured us it was no problem to set us up with two new iPhones and changing our plan to unlimited data in less than 30 minutes. He clearly explained the charges we were incurring, how our monthly bill would change, and talked up the perks of the phone. He was very personable - as was the entire staff working at the time. We are originally from Ohio and we are accustomed to Verizon store visits being a long, drawn-out affair of at least an hour, filled with confusing and fast-talking sales people. However, Eddie had answered our questions, explained everything clearly, and had us on our way in about 35 minutes. Verizon should be happy to have him - he represents customer service values well. I just bought a droid and although it captured all facebook and gmail contacts automatically-i was running into issues to those whose numbers werent listed in either program. This small store has displays of many phones, but only a small selection of accessories. The staff seems generally bored and the attitude of many of them made me feel like more of a distraction than a customer; there seemed to be little interest in answering my questions (about an existing phone) unless I was purchasing something new. There're enough other Verizon Stores around that this one isn't somewhere I'm likely to return to. read more

After going to the store in Gaithersburg and getting great service, I really think the service in this store is horrendous. Not only is it hard to get help from anyone, but the reps make you feel like you are troubling them. When I was looking for a new phone, the only person that seemed to really try to help was the manager. I finally did end up getting a new phone (but not from this store). The phone I got was having battery issues. When I took it to the store, the guy provided some advice but was pretty rude about it and really just wanted me to leave. If he actually took the time to ask me some questions, he might have realized that I actually did have a defective phone. All I have to say is thank god this store is not the only store for verizon wireless. read more
