I had an offer from Walmart for an IPhone 16 that sounded too good to be true. Since I am a Verizon customer for more than 20 years I came home and called Verizons 800 number. The representative told me to go to the Verizon store because they were having a promotion for an IPhone 17. So my husband and I went to the Verizon store in Groton. I explained to the representative about the offer from Walmart but asked about the better offer from Verizon. He had no clue as to what I was talking about so asked me about my internet service bc they are now part of Frontier and I could pay less for internet. I again asked about the promotion on the 17 iPhone. He knew nothing about it. I said maybe one of the other reps knew. From his desk he called to I believe her name was Abbey who had her back to him. I then tried to explain to her that I was told from the person from the 800 number that there was a promotion on the 17. Meanwhile as I was trying to tell her she continued to have her back to me as though I was talking into the air. My husband was so annoyed he got up and said "let's go". When I got home I called the 800 number again bc I felt I should speak to someone who knew what was going on. I explained to a young man my experience and within 5 minutes he told me exactly what the promotion was. He was pleasant and knowledgeable. I thanked him for listening to me and explaining to me what the promotion was. I Will NEVER go back to the Groton store. They treated me so disrespectful as though I didn't know what I was talking about. Yet never told what the promotion was for the Iphone 17. I will go to Best Buy to purchase the phone. read more

Do not go to The Verizon Zone in Groton near Stop and Shop. Horrible, horrible service. My phone would not charge snd the Verizon Rep refused to try to fix it. He suggested I go to a Mr. Fix It and pay him. The phone wpuld still notvrecharge so I called Verizon dirrctly. They agreed to replace. I will NEVER go to this store again. Avoid the Groton Store! This situation is a hot mess (but quite entertaining if you read the whole thing), so here we go the Verizon IT person who could override everything (Miss Key Master) hooked a sister up! So I don't know if this happened to anyone, do you remember that Apple update like a year ago that messed up a few peoples cameras? Yea, it was a big deal, I even went on the Apple site to complain and request a new update to fix it. (basically camera is either black screen when opened, just freezes on whatever image while moving the camera, and when you do snap the photo the image never saves to the camera roll) I mean a real disaster especially because we all pay like $8000 a year for phones, services, accessories etc right? Fix the darn camera. So no big deal I kept doing upgrades and the camera was still broken. For over a year. Finally, I went straight to Apple in Providence Mall (over 1 hour drive, had to take 1/2 day vacation time etc). The first visit. Dan ran diagnosis, no problem with the camera, but the 'genius' could see the camera was clearly jacked up. So we did the whole thing, cloud backup, release to Apple ID, erase data, and now the restore from the icloud takes hours so I said "if I go home and reinstall and it doesn't work what will you do and he said, we will replace your phone.", so I drove home hooked to power source and on signed into my Wi-Fi but after everything downloaded I check the camera to NOT REALLY be surprised but to find a broken frigen camera sill. I was fumin HOT! But now Dan said Id get a new phone so, the following week, again took a 1/2 day vacation, I drove over an hour back up to Providence and couldn't have Dan, no they didn't even know who that was so I got Mike..... who Dan told me one thing that was wrong... so we literally did the exact same crap as Mr Genius Bar Dan... So I said now when the camera is still a mess... I'm getting a new phone right..Mr Genius Bar Mike said, "No, no, no, then we take your phone to the back... dissect it and replace the internal camera." WTF have I been driving up here for if all you going to do is give me a refurbished phone. So, internally pissed off, I smiled, shook his hand and I thanked him and did all that stupid mess again... when that camera was yet again still broke....I took my happy but right over to the Verizon in Groton. I showed the Verizon gentleman all the Apple Genius Bar notes and requests and two days of travel etc... just so he knew that this camera is freakin BROKEN, no water damage, no I never dropped it, never sat in the sun nothing it was that stupid Apple upgrade ... shoot look up my name from the complaints on Apple a year ago to confirm that it was an Upgrade malfunction please. So Mr Verizon guy was nice he was, he did his job as he was trained to do...talking to me that I could go through insurance and pay $100 or I could buy out the phone for my 18 months left on the contract for $490... and get into a iPhone 15... What? Wait...hold the heck up. Yo Yall messed up MY phone, I've been doing all this back and forth, up date, after up date all hoping that I'm doing the right thing...now I gotta pay to fix your mistake....NO I am so so sorry I don't think so. He said, "I get it but I can't make that call to replace my phone for free call... I'm sorry, you have to call IT. So I chatted (all that you read above if you still here reading) withMiss Key Holder, miracle worker IT lady. And she said simply... Yes ma'am you should not be responsible for paying for a replacement phone, we will send you a new (same iPhone 14) to your house and you can set it up and send us that broke down camera not working for years (well she didn't say that) phone back okay. :) Thank you so much Verizon because I was about to go full on Michael Douglas - Falling Down on Apple, Verizon and who ever got in my way ... so lady at IT...you saved me from a life sentence in prison and many families still have their family members... well done. read more

Last month I purchased a new Iphone 8+. I would be remiss if I didn't give a tremendous thank you to Mike Mugovero for all he did in helping to set it all up. First, let me just say that I had about 20,000+ pictures on my previous phone along with voice recordings, and documents that all had to be transferred. With Mike at the helm I didn't lose a thing! Not only that, he was instrumental in getting me the correct color phone after I inadvertently made an error in the color purchase. All the while I was there(which was a fair amount of time) he worked on my phone, worked on phones and tablets of other customers as they came in, and answered phone calls and helped solve several issues over the phone. NOT ONCE did he get upset or get frustrated with any customer..just went from one task to another. He even assisted me in finding a coffee (Because with the makeover the public coffee station has been removed?? Really sad there Wireless Zone Corporate for that decision..small snack area always made people feel at home and relaxed while having to wait..should put it back..and get more comfortable seats for patrons?) I am sorry that I didn't get to this sooner but definitely was not going forget it because Wireless Zone Groton has been my family's go to phone stone for about ten years. Mike is always willing to step in and try to help with any issue any of us have, from lost, to broken to wrong color(sorry Mike!) Just an awesome employee and wanted to be sure to say THANKS!!!! Ps A couple months ago I had an issue with a bill from Verizon and Matt helped take care of it with WZ Corporate as well. I found this place when looking for someone to replace a broken screen on an apple watch, which is difficult to find. This was the only service provider in the area that I could find that provided no hesitation when asked. I initiated the experience via email and worked with Peter via that means until we dropped the watch off. He was courteous and very responsive throughout the entire experience. The watch was repaired in December of 2017 and yes it has taken me this long to write a review, and that is because I forgot to write a review until I had to take the watch back because the screen popped out about 7-8 months after the repair (yep, took me that long to take it back in). Again, via email I coordinated dropping the watch off with Peter and it was ready in about an hour. They charged me nothing because I had it repaired there initially, but they were well within their rights to charge me based on it being greater than 1 year, but they didn't. While I waited for the watch I moseyed around and this seems to be a step above most wireless stores with an expansive variety of accessories (wireless speakers, mobile hot spots, etc.). I've been doing business with Neil & Scott at the Wireless Zone since they first went into business back when I had a built-in car phone. They have always treated me well. Just recently, I purchased a new iphone and Harry McCormack was my sales consultant. I say consultant because he was much more than a sales person. Harry is professional, knowledgeable, efficient, patient and polite. He does his job with complete confidence, which made me feel that I was in the right hands. I was having problems with my Moto phone and was extremely stressed. I came into Verizon and received excellent customer service from Matt. He was able to figure out the problem and get my phone working again. Definitely would come back to this location in the future for further customer service. Brought my iPhone 6 in for a screen replacement. The associate assured me that for $130 dollars I would get a genuine Apple screen. When I got my phone back the phone and receipt both said MD screen. The quality and brightness level are both noticeably lower than the original. Update: The store manager personally and professionally called me to discuss the situation. He assured me he uses high quality aftermarket replacement parts (including disclosing his supplier) and will stand by the repair for the life of the phone. He requested that they check the display to ensure it is operating correctly. I have been a long time customer of this branch and I am pleased that the management took the time to reach out to their customers. I will post a follow up upon their review of the screen. read more

I broke my cell phone and had a cell helmet on the screen. Santos was so sweet and patient, spending a couple of hours with me. I ended up purchasing an old style flip phone for my 89 year old mother, so he didn't even get a big commission after spending all that time in assisting me to file an insurance claim and reimbursement from cell helmet. He never acted like I was wasting his time. I've always had a great experience at this store, far better than other Verizon stores I've been to. The staff is really knowledgeable and attentive. customer service is non existent... If you have a problem with your phone do not go here!!! I have been a Verizon Customer since 2004 I have never been treated so disrespectful. She was terrible at dealing with customers, and it was apparent the only thing she was trained to do was to sell!!! I purchased my phone at this location 1 month shy of two years... contract due to expire and my phone gets locked up and will not charge. I have been told to go to the Verizon dealer in New London and will do so from now on... this place should not be in operation. read more

I am not sure why the other reviewers had such a bad experience. These guys were great. They did their best to meet my needs, worked quickly and efficiently, gave me lots of options and were super friendly. I live in Denver and my phone died while I was in CT. This is a pretty stressful scenario and they made it as painless as it could possibly be. They got me great pricing and I walked out of the store a happy camper. read more
