She did not even know the address nor cared to find out. Ridiculous. Don't waste your time in this store. Horrible customer service. Maybe it's time for T-Mobile!! I scheduled an in-store appointment to trade in two iPhones after receiving two upgraded devices by mail. I have two active lines and have been a Verizon customer for 21 years. In the store, I was told in-store assistance to set up the phones would cost $30 per device. To avoid the $60 charge, I attempted to complete the setup myself. During this process, I encountered an error message on one phone. I asked a nearby associate--who was not assisting another customer--what the error message meant and how it could be resolved. I was told curtly that I would need to pay for in-store assistance, despite clarifying that I was not asking her to set up the phone, only to explain the error message. While I continued to troubleshoot on my own, I observed the same associate assist other customers with similar issues in a noticeably more congenial and attentive manner. I was not once asked if I needed help as I struggled through the process. The difference in treatment was stark and deeply concerning, and it raised serious questions about bias. I had been with AT&T for 20 years and decided to switch to Verizon in September of this year. They told me they would pay off my cell phone with AT&T. They said I'd receive an email in two weeks to claim my pay off rebate. I received the email and when I clicked it it took me to nothing. I called Verizon and told them and they said it may not have been processed yet. I called several times each waiting about 20 mins to speak with someone. In one call they transferred me three times end in a transfer to a credit card company. I spoke again with Verizon again waiting 20 mins to speak to someone and they said I should received the rebate in my email by the end of October. Never got it. I called last week and they said they would nudge it and that I should get it by the end of the week or early next. If I didn't receive it by November 19 they would credit the amount to my account and I could request a refund. Never got it. Called again again waiting 20 mins and a nice woman sent me to a website with a promotion code and final I was able to redeem but that it would take 8 to 10 weeks to receive the rebate. Now I'm pissed. I have been with Verizon now nice September 20 and will not receive my rebate until the end of December early January aT&T has been called threatening to report me to the credit report so I paid the $700. This created a financial hard ship. The first manager I talked to said he'd give me $10 off my next bill. The nice girl credited me $100 for the inconvenience. It's finally a meaningful gesture but now I'll be waiting 3.5 months to get my money back. read more

I went over and turned it down because I'm disabled and suffered a brain injury and some big large woman decided that she was just gonna turn it on with no ramifications got in a heated argument with her she told me that she was calling the police Franklin press some button, please never came so I called the police. However, I was really pleased with the customer service at this store and expect I will start with them going forward, largely due to the help I received from Franco. I went in with questions about purchasing the new Samsung smartphone, and shortly after being checked in, was assisted by Franco. He was very knowledgeable and gave helpful recommendations about testing the phone/ordering/potential next steps. Based in no small on his help and info, I returned later and ordered the phone through the store. (Unfortunately Franco was already out for the day, but I wound up getting excellent service from Nate in his stead.) read more

Truly awful experience. Went in and ported two lines to Verizon from another carrier, purchasing two new phones at the same time. We were hoping to pick up phones in person but they told us that wasn't an option and it would have to be shipped. We explained that we have package theft in our neighborhood so shipping wasn't an option. We then had it shipped to a friend's house in Bethesda. Now we learn that1) Verizon waited two days to actually ship and 2) a signature is required - which was never mentioned to us at the store (if it had been, we would have been comfortable sending it to our house). And then I spend 50 minutes on the phone with Verizon trying to change the shipping info, all to no avail. They then try to make me sign up all over again in order to get a new shipment sent - asking for sensitive information all over again that we provided in person Saturday. I stated my inquiry, got the answer I wasn't looking for, yet ended up getting more data for free by enrolling in Auto Pay. The store looks brand new as its immaculately organized & stocked with every phone, accessory, gadget & then some for Apple, Droid, Google, Samsung & etc. The store offers deals & special offers with various discounts for Military, Veterans to name a few. You can order FIOS services yet can't return any equipment. VZ is located on the same side of Wisconsin Avenue next to Mattress Firm. I agree with the other reviews. I went in to transfer my phone from T mobile to Verizon. While I like Verizon, this store is a mess. 1) They never transferred the number and I continued receive bills from T mobile. I had to do this myself later. It took quite some time to figure out that I was not able to get text messages on the new phone as they continued to go to the old phone. 2) There is a discount for teachers, but they said it only applied to k-12, this was wrong. It applies to university teachers also. 3) The address on my license is wrong (Florida). I gave them my new local address, but the inputted the wrong address anyway. I had a horrible experience ! Got cheated on my trade in and never got credit for it. Persuaded to get a second line. When I did my credit became a monthly payment. No one warned me about that for 2 lines I was paying $184!!! and another $184 for interns and Fios ! Now with T Mobile I pay $120 for my 2 phone lines and only $30 for the interne!! I would strongly advise against going to this store. I came here to get my own phone plan, and was a new Verizon customer. They did not tell me that they would be doing a credit check, which should be disclosed. They also included "add ons" to my plan even though I specifically said I didn't want any. I only found out they added a $17 protection charge to my plan days later when I got my first bill, and also saw that there were multiple fees that they also did not prepare me for. Also, when they put the new SIM card in my phone they told me I could not utilize my new Verizon service because my phone was locked by my old provider. They never told me that I should check with my provider first to ensure my phone was unlocked. Luckily I had my friend at the store with me, because my old provider had removed my service since I transferred my number to Verizon, and I wasn't able to use my new Verizon service, so I was not able to text or call anyone on my phone. After using my friends phone and working with my old provider to get my phone unlocked, my service finally worked. You would think that Verizon would let people know about this potential step, so that their new customers aren't stranded without service. If you're looking for a transparent experience with no surprise charges and detailed steps on how to change your provider, do not come here. read more

Two hour visit yesterday. Marcus, the manager, and staff overall were inefficient. They took really long with a number of clients and you could hear half the time it was all upselling. Same thing happened to my husband and I, and we had to be forceful to get them to just sell us phones and accessories it turned out we didn't need. (Do your research on 13s before buying! I thought we did and I was so wrong.) We parked in their parking lot and were hit. No note. Talked to Verizon corporate and they reassured us we would simply need to go into the store to get the CCTV footage. Went in today and Marcus told me I was misinformed. They'd only hand over the footage with a police report. Called Moco Police and then they informed the police they still wouldn't hand it over. TL;DR: Avoid this store at all costs, unless you want to waste hours of multiple days, spend extra on devices you don't need, and now have to pay for a hit and run because staff can't show basic human decency. Verizon Corporate should be horrified at the lack of customer service. read more

This Verizon store makes no effort to provide adequate, honest customer service. Made an appointment, arrived on time, checked-in online but wasn't acknowledged for twenty plus minutes. So it meant I wasn't "in queue". When a man walked in they snapped to and took his name right away - so now he was ahead of me in the queue. I was steamed and let them know at which point three employees piled on even though I never posed a physical threat or used objectionable language. Why so much attention then when they totally ignored me initially? Why no process for customer "in-take"? Taking delivery of my purchased items - a phone, a wall adapter, a case and a screen protector - took three separate days waiting for UPS deliveries because signature was required for every item including the $10 wall adapter. No one bothered to advise me about this. So, clearly, this location is interested in sales but not service or honest (non passive aggressive) communication. Chevy Chase Verizon - after twenty plus years shopping for family phones at your location - you're through. I have since discovered that employees at the Verizon store on Rockville Pike at the Shops at Congressional (1701 Rockville Pike, Rockville, MD) are customer-focused, honest communicators and follow established process. This is a review about VZ customer service in general, not this store. Had problems with my iPhone 14 beginning late September. Verizon agreed to replace it and sent a phone (refurbished 14) in about four days time. It is now about three weeks later and I still have not new phone fully set up have tried dealing with Verizon on the telephone and via the app both have been useless especially the app which has very limited functionality and keeps taking you back to the few things how to guide you through. Met with a very good Verizon representative and he spent 2 1/2 hours trying to help me at the store in Navy Yatd but he could not get it to work. He kept that store open late even though it had closed trying to help me get the new phone set up. Finally I had to turn to Apple and spent a couple of hours with them. Phone is now operational, but not all of my apps transferred over, despite having saved them to both the VZ content transfer and the cloud. Now I am trying to return the old phone so I won't be charged for it and get some billing credited including the double billing I am seeing on one Apple Watch. I try again to call or use the app. Does not work. Will have Take time off to one of the stores. Again. Very disappointed Verizon - - these are not difficult tasks to complete but you are not providing any kind of support on phone or online. read more

Act I: After my phone went berzerk, and all attempts to fix it myself (ie. Googling and Youtube videos) rendered useless, I looked up the closest Verizon store and made my way to Bethesda. I walked into the Verizon store hopeful. I was greeted at the door, and the manager took down my name. He told me the number of people ahead of me and the estimated wait time. I took a seat and watched tv while I waited (bonus: they have a tv in the middle of the room and Food Network was playing). When I was next to be called, the manager gave me a heads up that someone would be with me shortly. I know that Verizon customer service tends to have a bad rap, but I was impressed with the organization and level of customer service displayed. Enter the Sales Associate/Solutions Specialist. I won't use his name, but I was not impressed with his level of effort or "technical expertise." After I explained the issues that I was having with my phone (it kept resetting and wouldn't go to the main menu), he took my phone, and said, "Ok, let's take a look." That's literally all he did. He looked at the screen, where there was an air bubble from my screen protector, scratched it with his finger, and asked if I dropped it in water. Uh.... no. He then said it was old, said there was nothing he could do, and was ready to sell me a new one. I thought he could at least humor me and try to fix my phone or recover my contacts and photos, but a part of me thinks he didn't know how. Act II: Since I wasn't the main account holder for the plan, there wasn't much we could do in the store. The Sales Associate recommended going home and coming back with the main account holder, or calling the main account holder on the phone and telling them to come over. There was a third option to do some "convoluted" pin and password thing over the phone to give me access, but he highly advised against the pin and password method, because "people get confused easily." I asked him how I could get in contact with my dad (the main account holder) because (wait for it) my phone was broken. He directed me to a counter with a phone, and told me that in the meantime, he would help another customer. I called my dad, and he wanted to do the pin and password method. I told the associate, who again - advised against it. He even tried to convince my dad on the phone that it's better to come in-person because "people get confused easily." He seemed irritable. I feel like he just wanted to get rid of me and move on to the next customer to meet some quota. Every chance he could get, he ditched me to help someone else, so I spent additional time waiting for him to be done. I understand that they want to get everyone in and out and all issues resolved as quickly as possible, but I did not feel valued as a customer. We did the pin and password method and had no issues, so I really think it was a matter of the guy being lazy. After some arm twisting, he finally sat down with me to go over my options. This guy gets an "E" for effort, and that was my first and last time visiting that Verizon store. read more

I have never been closer to losing it in a store. to be prepared, I went online the day before and got virtual support to transfer my Verizon line from one Verizon account to another Verizon account. I get it to the store & the guy proceeds to tell "well that actually didn't work and you have to call a number to get it transferred". I call the number and after 25 steps, and an hour of them problem shooting, because it's rocket science to transfer within their own systems, the transfer is completed. the representative on the phone tells me I can now go upgrade my phone. I go back up to the same in store representative & he proceeds to tell me that the transfer is still pending, I can't upgrade and he doesn't know when the transfer will complete. he Offered no assistance, no "let me find out for you". I guess his job is to sit there and look pretty. 0/10 , don't recommend. Wasted my Saturday. read more

After arriving three minutes after the store opened and being the 3rd customer in the door I finally left 72 minutes later without ever being waited on. I had a relatively quick transaction to make - I needed to buy a hot spot and add it to my plan. The customer right in front of me was first told that she would need to make an appointment for whatever she wanted to do and was then, for God knows why, waited on. An hour and ten minutes later they were still waiting on her. I didn't hear the first customer's reason for being there but that transaction didn't appear to be anywhere near complete after 72 minutes either. There were three employees in the store; two were waiting on the first customer, the other on the 2nd customer. (I think one was new, and he was actually the best person there. At least he seemed to be aware that people were waiting.) For the first half hour I just thought it was a terrible "system." Not the fault of the employees. And there's NO question about that. But, honestly, it was so obvious that no one was operating with even the slightest bit of urgency. It's like there weren't six people waiting. At one point, one of the employees was actually showing pictures of his kids to the person he was waiting on. I am getting a little tired of every company using the "it's hard to find help" as an excuse for poor customer service. And assuming that actually true - Verizon, at least train your people better!!! read more

Extremely negative experience. They do not give you accurate information and try to lock you in 3-year commitment to Verizon through their trade-in program. Before you sign the agreement you are told that you can return the new phone within 30 days of purchasing and all you pay is restocking fee. None of that turns out true, when you come back to return the phone and get out of the deal after you realize that it does not work for you. There are hidden fees and it is not clear what you are really paying for. The staff turns out to be very rude, patronizing, and even violent when you try to get your old phone back. They do not even attempt to help you resolve the problem or to even hear you out. They try to bully you out of the store and make comments like: "go back to your old carrier". No respect to customers, extremely unprofessional, shameful behavior. read more

Do not go to this store, unless you like to gamble with your money. They are running essentially a bait-and-switch scams. I went there and traded in my phone and tried to port my number from another carrier to Verizon. They have a chauvinistic, alpha-male culture centered on preying on their customers. In the end, all they were interested in was to take my money and cheat. 1. I was told that they will wave the $35 activation fee. But then they added a $29.99 "transfer fee". The $35 activation fee also showed up on my first bill, so nothing was waived. I called Verizon and they waived the fee and told me that the store doesn't have the authority to wave the activation fee and they should not be making such claim. The Verizon customer service also told me that they cannot remove the $29.99 fee because that is what the store charges. They recommended that I deny the charge with my credit card, which I have. While I was there, I heard them make the same claim to other new customers. 2. The "transfer fee" is supposed to be for transferring my data, which really I had to sit there and do, and for porting my number. However, they did not port my number correctly and for a week I was not getting any texts for two factor authentication. It turned out that they didn't do it correctly, and fixed the port by spending hours on the phone with Verizon and my old carrier. I went back and asked for a refund of my transfer fee. They refused and the head alpha male tried to give me a lecture on each carrier's protocol for porting numbers, which understandably I was not interested in hearing. I told them that I am not charging you a "transfer fee"! It's your job to know the protocol if you are charging your customers. Plus, it's a useless charge for something that is done mostly automatically and with input from the customer. But since they are only interested in taking your money, I was not refunded. 3. On the first day, I was told that I can return the new phone and cancel everything for a $50 restocking fee, which is pretty high. I agreed to pay the $50 fee and cancel the entire deal, all I need is my old phone, or an equivalent refurbished phone, or an equivalent market value. They refused all and said that all they can do is take the new phone back and cancel the contract if I pay the $50 restocking fee. The alpha male and his gang were going all out lecturing me! I told them that this was not what I was told and it is unreasonable that they want to just keep my old phone. I even offered other arrangements that would resolve the issue. However, the gang was dead set on ripping me off. They told me to contact Verizon customer service and they may be able to do something. When the gang at this store wants to take your money, they are Verizon representatives. When they need to provide service or refund, they are NOT Verizon! At this point, I was quiet mad just like anyone including those very same people would be if they were getting ripped off. In fact, they claimed that this is what every other carrier does, so it's acceptable if they do it. I'm not sure if other carriers or even other Verizon stores behave this way, but this is precisely the logic of thugs and charlatans. I went outside and took my time to tell some of their would be customers about my experience. They called the police and filed a restraining order against me; however, the police officer said exactly what I told them, that I have the right to stand on the public sidewalk and inform others of my experience. That is exactly what I will do. I work in the area and I get my bagel and coffee around the corner. While I'm enjoying my coffee, I will be around the corner from this store telling their would be customers to beware of their bait-and-switch scam. In the end, the Verizon customer service offered an equivalent market value for my phone, which was absolutely acceptable for me. They could have made the same offer at the store and I would have walked away. But the alpha male thug mentality only wants to "explain" irrelevant issues to the customer as if we are idiots! They only want to take your money. Do not give them your business. They will take your money, rip you off, infringe on your first amendment rights, and laugh at the fact that they cheat you like a cackle of hyenas, as they did with me. read more

So my mother walked away with a new iPhone that she was expected to setup on her own. I would expect a salesperson to assist her with moving to her new phone. I've been a loyal customer of Verizon for 15+ years, have paid them thousands of dollars over the years and you'd think with that kind of loyalty AND $$$$$$$$ spent, they would "treat me right." Unfortunately, NOT! I could tell you about the time they "upsold" me to changing 3 cable boxes for the 3 TV's in our house and how by following their instructions, I LOST ALL MY VIDEOS that I had recorded over the years! Concerts (some of which cost me $50!), recorded movies, TV shows, etc. That was a horrible experience for which I was never compensated! Not even a little bit! The "last straw" was when their billing "creep" got my attention for the internet. (Yeah, they got me on the "triple play $89/mo for TV, internet, and landline phone...then 2 yr later I was paying $250 -$300/mo.!!! So, like many others, "cut the cord" and went with internet only! Returned all their expensive video boxes to them and stuck w/internet only.) The billing "creep" on the internet was from $60+ to 70+ and now is $85+ per month just for internet! When I saw their ad for $40/mo. I called them up but they wouldn't give me the deal! "Sorry, that's for NEW customers only."!! What a horrible, horrible, company! I have waisted so much time dealing with customer service (hours and hours). I initially had to deal with them due to their not honoring the internet speed agreement (gigabit connection) and for outrageous unrelated charges. My wife and I both went through about three different representatives, each one seemed to want to be helpful and would claim they would call back with a solution. This happened several times before we finally found a competent woman who was able to spend an inordinate amount of time on the phone with me to resolve all the stupidity. Today, I called again to see what is up with my computer not performing at the gigabit speed. The first time I called, after going through 15 minutes of automated prompts the connection was dropped as it was attempting to do a speed test. I called again and got through to an agent. Horrible customer service. I've had a plan with Verizon for YEARS. I walked in, very clearly pregnant in my third trimester. I asked if I could use their restroom before updating my plan and phone. NOPE, they wouldn't let me use their bathroom. Their suggestion was to walk to Target. Really? You can't make an acceptation for someone who has been with the company forever and is very clearly pregnant?!? I went next door to the mattress store and the associate was appalled. She said I'm not the first. Lol, added bonus was when I talked to the manager... she was completely unfazed. Nice leadership. read more

This is a general review of Verizon. I have had Verizon for so long over the years I have moved a few times in the last couple years, but anyway. On this new move of mine Verizon tech that come out was well he was not the best of the bunch. He called me and when we spoke I told the tech where to park and to call me when he got here as my building is locked. The tech didn't do either I just so happened to see him drive right pass me. That is how I knew he was here. The installation was long and slow and the tech had zero personality and so slow. I have a hurt foot and can't walk very good and I was waiting for this guy walking back up to my place I am like really. Then once he finished most Verizon techs will go over the remote and your package and internet with you. Well this guy just wanted to get out and just said here is your pass code and your internet access point. Then he left wow. Not talking about all the changes I had to go through getting service set up again. I had to call Verizon like 3 or 4 times to get my order straight. Anyway, once you get the service up and running it works well and I do enjoy it. read more

Excellent experience with knowledgeable, expert tech Gary and the Manager. Went in with new phone to activate, turn in old phone and look for accessory upgrades. Gary was great and the Manager helped with tech problems and set up good deals on accessories and products. Gary even synced the new wireless stuff we bought to the phones. Happy family, happy life!!! Transferring from old phone took time (from the Cloud) and Gary was patient, explained steps and led us through loading email accounts, photos, contacts, texts, apps, etc. We backed up our old phone to Cloud before we went to the store to capture everything on the old phone. Two of us went so we had company thinking of questions, waiting, and looking for products for family members. Red soft couches with arm pads add a nice place to nest! TIP: FREE PARKING on open lot next door to store. TIP: Bring all your accounts name/passwords to make all transfers. Much faster than at home. TIP: Buy accessories, for any products, when buying phone for 25% discount. TIP: Look online for Verizon promotions and ask staff or manager what store promotions are on products. We got Fit bit and Apple wireless product discounted after asking. TIP: Best times 5:30 PM when others are commuting in traffic, or mid morning or afternoon. Crowded in early morning and evenings after 6:30 PM. read more

They don't even provide a phone to the store. Their store number routes to the general wait on hold half an hour verizon number. Pretty obvious they don't want to speak with their customers. Given the service provided, one can see why. read more
