I had the dumb idea that it might be easier to talk to a real person in this store regarding questions I had about my bill - Jay, the person assigned to help me was infuriatingly condescending. When I pointed out two separate items on the bill (different descriptions and different amounts) and asked him to explain what these charges were he just kept saying 'same thing, same thing'. After going back and forth like this for awhile, he finally decided that the items were not the 'same thing.' But he continued to laugh and shake his head to every question I posed. The final cherry on top of his customer service was to dial the customer service line, have it full volume on speaker phone going through the automated messaging, handed the phone to me and walked away. read more

Came in to have my phone looked at because the GPS had not been working accurately. The manager spoke to us briefly and was very friendly, but things took a turn for the worse when I was handed over to a sales associate. Without even bothering to look at the phone, he said "I had that problem too and it was never resolved," then just stared at me like I was supposed to hand over my credit card to buy a replacement on the spot. I asked him to please have a look before coming to that conclusion. He and another guy started up the navigation app and told me the GPS was working even though it clearly could not detect my location. Really?? They said the only option would be to get a new phone, then proceeded to scold me because had I enrolled in the insurance program it could have been replaced for free. You have to practically force these people to DO THEIR JOB and attempt to help you. Not only will they just try to get you to spend hundreds of dollars for no reason (my GPS started working again on its own a couple weeks later), they will disregard you for opting not to throw money away on phone insurance (which at that point would have equaled the cost of a new phone anyway)! This was seriously one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. I will never go back to this location. read more

Our salesperson Matt helped us after about a 5 minute wait. We simply needed to activate a phone that we had purchased on Verizon's website since that phone was out of stock at the store. Matt was extremely efficient, helpful, and did what we asked him to do. He suggested twice that we might be interested in purchasing accessories but was not pushy or obnoxious. The customer service is great and the product selection is ample however, I am not sure that like how you sign in. Someone takes your name and phone number at the door and puts you in the system. You are then put on a list that is displayed on a monitor in the store. The issue is that it takes some time to find the customers when it is their turn. My compliments to the managers of this store. They solved my complaints and I left feeling good about my purchase and about doing business at this store. Problems will happen, the quality is in how management resolves them. First visit, I came in, spent $800 on buying the I Pad i wanted w/external keyboard, web access etc. and afterwards felt I should have gone elsewere. I nearly walked out twice during this purchase. Salesman could care less about what I needed, rushed through sale, refused to honor Verizon gift card to save his time, badly explained what I needed to know, etc. I wrote about this miserable experience on their website survey. A manager called me from this store within three days of my posting this criticism. After I explained my frustrations, he invited me to come back. He would have someone answer all my questions. Second visit, as busy as they were in this season, he assigned a Customer Service Rep to take whatever time was needed to resolve my complaints. She spent over 45 minutes with me, patiently answering all my questions, and helping me find the apps I really needed. I left feeling I had made a good decision, not a stupid one , for making this purchase at this store. This rating is for how management resolved my issues. Any business can have problem employees. But not just any business takes the time and applies their expertise to to resolve one customer's complaints, especially at their busiest time of year. Verizon - Empty store and still waiting forever for service! - Mobile Phones Near Me - Columbia, Maryland

While I've always had good luck at Verizon stores, the experience I had getting my DROID today was more than I could possibly hoped for. Even though this is a really high volume store, we were helped as soon as we came in the door. The salesperson was very willing to answer any questions we had, and did not try to sell us the most expensive the phone they had. In fact, with one phone she told us that that was much more than we needed. The service continued to be great, even though we had a 15 month old son running around trying to grab things off the shelves. To sum up, the staff was helpful and courteous, selling only what we needed, trying to save us as much money as possible. I've never really gotten service this good anywhere. read more

The staff tries to be helpful because it is their job to appear so but I didn't feel like anyone really cared to help the customers.. One of the customer's child was running around and touched a phone/ipad enough to set off an alarm. None of the workers tried to shut if off, I looked around only to find at least 3 workers leaning against the wall/window and working/playing on their phone.. The verizon worker couldn't help me with my issue I went to the store with so I did 90% of my work over the phone by myself with the representative over the phone.. i do not find this kind of customer service helpful. read more

Was forced to register my phone number and waited more than 30 minutes just to return some accessories which turned out to be incompatible with the case I had purchased. Any normal retail establishment could have processed this more quickly. After asking to speak to the floor manager, I finallywas helped, and it seemed to go smoothly. Not clear how long it would have taken had I not spoken up. Manager was apologetic when I spoke to him. They also gave me a free compatible charger which boosts the review to two stars. The WORST service I've ever gotten. I have been a Verizon wireless customer for years and went to the store to enquirer about my phone storage. First of all nobody approached me to sign in. And when I asked Dom if I can sign in, he responded so rude and unprofessional, like I was a burden to his day!! Than after waiting for 20 min Jasmine called my name. I told her my phone kept saying "storage full" and told her I even pay for Verizon cloud. I also asked her if they could reset my phone and clear it out. Without looking through my phone she said I had to delete videos and apps off my phone. I had just deleted 540 images because if this problem and apps run off internet. She gave me advice I can get off google! The staff was inattentive, rude, and seems unknowledgeable of what customer service means. BEWARE of being charged twice on merchandise!!!! On 1/21/19, my husband and I went to this store to upgrade his 5C and buy him the iphone X. We noticed that customer service staff were calling out names from a list to help people. We couldn't find a sign-in sheet anywhere and waited 30 minutes till someone actually spoke to us. We bought the phone and during the transaction, the representative helping us, was rushing during the checkout and CHARGED US TWICE for one phone. Since the store was getting ready to close, we were rushed out of the store. When we got home, we check the receipt and realized the error. My husband returned to the store to obtain a refund. He was refunded only for the phone and given a $50 store credit for his trouble. When he looked over the receipt, he noticed he wasn't refunded for the sales tax ($54). When he inquired as to the refund of the sales tax, he was told that sales tax on a purchased item is not refundable. It's important to note that he also was not refunded for the $13 forced insurance charge and the $2.99 random service fee charge (he forgot about those charges since it's been over 5 years since he's had to deal with all the random mandatory charges). The total amount he was not refunded for is for the sales tax, insurance and a service fee which total $70. I'm still angry they gave him a store credit of $50 (how is he to spend that, he has everything he neesds). I'm still trying to get in contact with the Maryland Comptrollers Office in order to determine if not refunding the sales tax is legal. We will never shop at this location again. I initially went with him because I'm accustomed to the upsale tactics, and I did stop him from buying a three pack of charges that he didn't need. But overcharging and not fully refunding..... Honestly this is a very good Verizon store. It's by far the best I've been to in the area. The staff is helpful and friendly and get you in and out faster than most other Verizon stores with minimal complication and BS. I recently had a trip to Europe planed, so I set out to the Verizon store to get my phone to work internationally. The verizon tech who came to help me name was Ohio. He put me on a phone call to Verizon international. It is something that I tried at home and all this extension does is hang up on me when I try to get an operator on the line. When I tried to share my frustration at the catch 22 Ohio had put me in, the employees ignored me, acted as if I wasn't there, standing in front of them with a problem. After all, I want to spend more money to get my phone to work so I can spend more money on my trip. Apparently to the employees at Verizon Columbia Customers with a problem are invisible. I went home because there was no help to be had, where I spent another 3 hours on various phone calls to try and resolve my problem... No luck. The next day I was leaving on my trip. On the way to the airport I tried one more time to get help at Verizon Columbia. It was even worse than the day before. Because I had no service on my trip it was much more difficult to maneuver. I couldn't get an Uber and taxis are very expensive in Europe. I could not follow directions on my map program. If I wanted to contact someone I had to find a shop with wifi, buy something and send an email or text by Whattsapp. Customer service is very important to me, and it is something that this store completely lacks. I changed my service as soon as I got back to the states. The nice lady at T-mobile made my work internationally in less than an hour. Thank you read more

During my visit to this store today our salesperson Kyle was extremely unhelpful and quite rude. When discussing a new plan and phone he gave no details and was very pushy. When asking about the plan he gave very short answers, he did not answer our questions and was very rude when attempting to answer (no eye contact and mumbling). He walked away from our transaction three times without an explanation. When asked what was going on he mumbled something under his breathe and walked away. The transaction had to be completed three times because he was not familiar with the process. He had to speak with several other employees to complete the transaction. Overall, Kyle was not knowledgable about plans or devices and had horrible customer service. read more

Completely rude, I came in to see about upgrading to the iPhone 6 and saw that there is a deal where you can trade in your current iPhone and get a gift card for $200 or $300 towards the new phone. I went to this store and was stopped at the door outside where a man told me he needs to "sign me in" before I can enter but needed to finish signing in the person he was working with....yet he let someone else walk in right past him w/o stopping her. Then he starts talking to me and in a very dismissive manner tells me they don't have any iPhone 6 at this time. I tried to explain that all I want to do is see if my phone qualifies for the trade in but he continued to talk about what I would need to to do to order the iPhone online. Then once he finally let me speak he said well I can look at your account to see if you are due an upgrade. Then he tells me that I'm not and spoke to me as if he knows I can't afford to pay the full price for the phone, even with the credit. All I wanted was info on if I wanted to get the phone and I wanted to look at the phone to see if I even wanted it. Needless to say I was turned away w/o ever even stepping foot in the store! I will never go to this store again and may even switch carriers, this is not how I expect to be treated by a company that gets as much of my money as it does each month. read more

Sadly the service at this store has gone down at a tremendous rate. While you are greeted immediately upon entering, that is where the positive customer service ends. All but one of the employees on the floor were simply mindless drones with tablets. They did nothing but look down @ their tablets like they were lost & looking for directions. All I wanted was to see about getting a new battery. It was clear that no one was interested in helping me because the first 2 people who asked the greeter why I was there skipped right over me. The 3rd was completely disinterested as she walked up (with NO greeting) & simply said "We don't have any batteries". Period. Then there was just a blank look on her face. It was infuriating bc I am sure if I was upgrading my phone & spending money I would have had plenty of help. Sorry but I WILL NOT be returning to this retailer. I just switched from Comcast to Verizon in January. The installation went well and the service has been good so far. However, the billing has been a problem. When I first contacted Verizon I was told that the initial bill would be $227.70 and the monthly bill would be $159.97. Well, I was wrong for not studying the bill closely enough. There was an activation fee split over three months that was around $33.00 that was included in months 2 and 3 which brought the monthly bill up to $193.32 for months 2 and 3. This was not clear and I consider how they presented this information rather sleazy, since it made you thing the price would be less than it turned out to be. They were supposed to provide a credit of $64.88 but this has still not happened and I was told today (March 3), that it could take 45 to 60 days for them to post the credit. i just paid them $258.32 to make sure I wouldn't have a balance since they haven't applied the credit. I am starting to wonder if I should just turn off my cable all together given how both Comcast and Verizon treat their customers. read more

Most people probably don't look up a wireless store before going in, but on the off chance that someone does, this place has earned this review! If you need a wireless device and you also want a "used car lot" experience, this is your place. The employees work off of commission, so if you want to buy something or upgrade, they're your best friend. If you want to downgrade or return something, you're treated like you have a communicable disease. We had three phone lines and only needed two, so when the last one's contract expired, I went in to cancel it. It would have saved me a mere $10 a month, so it should have been no hassle. Enter my data plan. My wife and I both have unlimited data because we're grandfathered in and haven't upgraded in over two years. You can't get unlimited data anymore and Verizon is working hard to get rid of any plans that still have it. They offered me a sweet deal on a tablet and a lower monthly bill to go with 4GB of data. For some reason I accepted, but then changed my mind. I went back in a few days later to change my plan back and was told that it was impossible. I argued with the sales person, argued with the "customer service" people they had to call (because anytime someone wants to downgrade service, the sales rep has to call someone to get permission), and argued with the store manager. They all told me that once I changed from unlimited data to a new plan I could never go back to unlimited data. It doesn't exist. No one could make it happen even if they wanted to. What saved me was the fact that both my phone and my wife's phone are currently out of contract. Rather than continue to argue with the store sales people in person I called Verizon myself, and after getting the same song and dance, threatened to take my business elsewhere if they didn't give me my old plan back. I now have unlimited data again and my business stayed with Verizon. Amazing considering how many times I was told it was impossible to get unlimited data back. I don't know if the employees in the store lied to me or were just misinformed, but either way the whole experience was very adversarial. Because of this experience I won't upgrade my phones or service unless one of my phones dies. And if I ever need help in person again I can promise you I will NEVER go to this location again. Maybe they're all the same, but out of principle I won't go to this store for anything. read more

Verizon is the best coverage in the area, but far from being the best customer service not because of their personnel but rather of their corporate policy. They beg new customers with great deals and ignore their great paying and reliable customers. After 9 years of being a faithful customer in spite of being overcharged for services, I decided to take part of my business somewhere else. I have been very happy with COMCAST internet, Power Phone for my VOIP landline and Verizon for my wireless. I am saving over $120 a month and do not have any hanging contract. For almost a year of usage, I receive every two months a letter begging me to return to FIOS package which I put into my recycling bin immediately. I feel good that they empowered me to look into different solutions because of their mishandling of good, reliable customers with the highest credit rating. I hope that after reading this review, Verizon treats you (fellow existing customers) much better by reviewing your account frequently and providing you the best offers! read more

I went into the Verizon store last night because I had some free time and needed to upgrade my phone... I was prepared for a long, boring wait but was happily surprised! It was actually a pleasant experience. I was greeted at the door and the door was held for me when I entered and again when I left. Numerous salespeople said hello and smiled at me. Awesome music was playing in the store. I didn't wait long at all, and then was lucky enough to get assigned to a fabulous salesperson named Victoria Gower. She was very knowledgeable. Best part about her was her sales style--- she offered numerous suggestions for services, changes to my plan, discounts, accessories, and other options. But she never pressured, she just let me know what was available and what might make sense for me and my family. Some ideas I accepted, some I rejected- and she would just smile and keep giving other advice or sharing thoughts, ideas, suggestions. it was a surprisingly relaxing end to a long day, and I learned some things that I didn't even know I didn't know... AND I got an awesome new phone!l read more

Not a happy camper. I was with T-Mobile for 10 years. I switched over to Verizon because of reception & service. BAD MOVE. After ordering and recieving my phone I went to this store to get help switching over pictures and contacts. The moment I walked into the store I was greated by a gentleman who asked me if I had a bundle package. He then hooked me up w a young lady who proceeded to move my information over to new phone. While she was doing that she sold me a bundle package and told me it was $50 if I got the Otter box and a little bit more if I got the Life Box. I chose the Life Box. She billed me $127.00 . I cringed and questioned her and she said that the Life case was considerably higher but it is waterproof. I returned it. Then she asked me if I wanted the free tablet. I would be $10 a month on my bill. I took it. I just got my bill and imagine my shock when I found out yes it is $10 a month for the tablet but also $50 a month for the account that she never told me about. I call VERIZON and they said they couldn't cancel it without charging me a fee. I have to go to the store. I just spent 27 minutes on hold. WTH!! I am not happy and do NOT recommend them to anyone. I do not like feeling pressured and do not like it when I have an issue not being able to resolve it. read more
