I was greeted by the scheduler who put me in queue for the next tech. The wait was about 15 minutes on a Saturday morning.The tech, Tony, was fabulous and took time to answer all my questions about installation, made sure I had the right Xfinity app on my cell phone to activate the system while everything is down during activation. I also observed him help 2 other people and he was just as thorough and helpful. I have completed the install and just have to return the old equipment to the store. Highly recommended. The online help and live chat help on the Xfinity log in page is horrible by comparison, and would have cost me a $50 increase in monthly fees if I hadn't seen the fine print on the contract they texted me for the free modem replacement and halted that process.

They seem to do okay with…read moreWIFI, but each time I left there I ended up owing hundreds of my dollars on my Xfinity Mobile bill, because someone at the store did something wrong. And, you can argue on the phone until your dead and they don't help. So basically this store cost me around $600 that I didn't actually owe. Never get Xfinity Mobile ever ever ever! It is better to pay more for any other service....Cricket, Mint Mobile.....anything. And if you have a choice for WIFI I would bypass that as well. Just can't trust them and they don't care.

The biggest issue--want to cancel? Well, that's too damn bad because you'll get the runaround (the main number can't cancel) and when someone does finally call you back, it's a 3 year contract and you need to pay 75% of it to part ways with them. But, you want your home to be safe you say? Sure, sure. Prepare for 50+ alarms a day. The spruce bush in my yard is constantly up to no good and I have ghosts upstairs apparently because I get motion detector messages when there is no one up there. Maybe I can tweak it so it doesn't suck so much? Sure. Am I angry that I have to fiddle with this thing just in order to reap a non-negative effect? I am filled with the rage of a thousand suns. (Oh, I saw a fox on my outdoor camera once. That was cool.) Is there a smart panel? I wouldn't call it "smart" exactly. You get a panel, fwiw. You can get all of this cheaper, you can get all of this without a three year contract, you can get all of this without wanting to hulk smash all of it every time it tells you there someone on your porch (IT'S A TREE! IT'S A GODDAMN TREE, NOT ON THE PORCH, IN THE YARD!)

Well, it's quite simple: You can never, ever trust that what you're being told by a customer service/sales rep is correct/complete. If you don't know what to ask, you can get screwed. You can call three different times, talk to three different people, and get different info from each one. Wait times to speak to a rep can be very long, and God help you if the rep who finally answers can't help you - and that's often the case. When you get transferred, you'll have to explain the entire situation all over again...each time you get transferred. That alone can turn the calmest, most peaceful of souls into a raving lunatic. The two-star rating is for average internet and horrific customer service.
