After waiting more than 15 minutes to be helped, I was assisted by Carlos. When I got home and reviewed my account, I discovered he had added a $38/month protection plan to BOTH phones -- without my consent, without my knowledge, and without even offering it to me. This is not a mistake -- this is intentional, deceptive, and feels like stealing. Adding services I never asked for shows a complete lack of honesty, integrity, and respect for customers. I've been a customer at this location for years, but this experience has completely broken my trust. Was convinced to upgrade a phone when adding someone to my line, and promised 3 free months of insurance and 2 free activation fees as a full credit on the next bill. No such credit after a month and a half and the phone rep said I had to go back to the store to get it fixed. Cell phones are a necessary tool for Yelp reviewers. My ancient iPhone 12 was getting a little long in the tooth so I started searching for Verizon stores near me. The staff at a couple were unhelpful and, sadly, a little pushy. My wife, smarter than I, searched further afield and sent me here. Wow! I was greeted by a tech named Tom. He checked me into their system in about a minute. He made me comfortable working with him because he actually listened to my concerns and needs. After examining my account he recommended a new phone that is the current state of the art ... iPhone 15 Pro ... and a plan that had higher speed and he explained that with a trade in, and a switch to automatic paying with a checking account, my monthly bill would remain the same! There was a minor glitch with the trade in, but Tom went to their help desk while I sat and he cleared everything up. While I waited, he updated the iOS on the new phone and transferred everything perfectly. Tom was amazing. Really. He knows his products. He doesn't sell more than you need, rather he listens and recommends options that he thinks will offer the best value. My experience with him told me there are still people who come to work to do the best job for the customer and properly represent the products his company offers. Not busy in the store, I signed in to the queue. Waited a while then was called over by a representative who was also helping another woman at the same time. She'd been there a while and was all spread out with paperwork and her phone. As he was talking to me, she was interrupting him, he was distracted and I asked him to help me when he was finished with her or put me back on the wait list. I don't need to hear her business nor does she need to know mine. It's rude! He told another rep to help me when he was done with his customer and he did. I was asking to upgrade my phone and looking at my account, he said I needed to pay off the existing phone before he could help. I did pay on the phone with Verizon Customer Service as he walked away. He finds his way back to me after which he told me that I didn't qualify for any promotions because I had upgraded my cellular plan earlier in the morning. This Verizon store is really nice! Its huge with a nice layout, and there's ample parking. There's hand sanitizer available for customers to use, the staff all wore masks, and there's plenty of space to distance yourself from others. Unfortunately the customer service by the general manager was awful. I walked in and was greeted by her after waiting for only about a minute. She was extremely cold and I felt like she wasn't interested in helping me. I gave her my name & told her what I was there for, she pointed to where I should sit and told me I have people before me. I noticed a handful of people waiting, and I noticed that all 3 workers were helping customers. Another thing I noticed was the general manager walking around scrolling on her phone and not helping her employees get the line down. Then I watched her go to a work station, fiddle around with the ring on her finger, then proceeded to AGAIN scroll through her phone! All while customers were waiting and waiting and waiting. She eventually left the floor and never returned. After waiting for a significant amount of time, I decided to just leave. Her piss poor attitude and lack of being a team player is the reason for the one star. I had to go back with my husband for a price adjustment: 2 weeks prior at another Verizon, I was offered a trade in with my upgrade. He was not at East Hanover. The representative during my Verizon experience set up my new phone and ensured it was working properly before I left the store. East Hanover handed my husband a series of screenshots on how to activate his new phone at home. They claimed it was a new corporate policy put in place AFTER my recent visit. I went into this store today because the screen on my new Note 9 started going lack yesterday. The store was empty and all the young salespeople came to assist. The young lady began to look at the phone attempting to assess the problem. A young Hispanic man and I say this To ID him with a name bage that also IDs him as a Veteran picks up my 1,000 phone and begins to tell me it's the cover . I respond I dont believe that's the problem as this cover has been on the phone since its purchase. The problem began yesterday. He waves his hand over the sensor and the phone goes black. He again says it's the cover. I respond I dont see how because the problem just started. He throws the phone on the table and says and I quote" fix it yourself "! Well it wasn't the problem the phone needed to be rebooted! And it now works fine. This review is targeted at the Verizon Fios 877-266-2351 sales group I was not able to get a price on Fios internet service after 8 minutes on the phone. The online advertistement on the Fios site for 24.99 per month offer they stated did not exist and needed to run a credit score check on me to get me a price. Then they went full "used car salesman" on me and tried to up sell me on what internet I need and how fast. I got fed up and went and ordered Xfininty from Cablevision. They had an advertised price and stuck with it. hmmm... Wonder what the FCC would say. Hopefully someone at Verizon is reading as I hope they educate their sales folks and stay away from the Wells Fargo sales pitches. read more

He was met by a female sales rep with long dark hair, freckles, and lash extensions, and I'm only describing her because she never introduced herself. She basically told my son that he shouldn't get a new phone now because apple was coming out with a new device with in the next 2 weeks. When he asked her to give him more details she said she wasn't at liberty to say. SO he left the store without a working iPhone. He came home and told me what happened so I decided to call Verizon myself and was on the phone with 4 DIFFERENT PEOPLE FOR A TOTAL OF 1.5 hours with out resolution! Today I went in to get help with my phone. I was frustrated that I kept getting pop up ads while driving and my screen locks up too quickly. Luckily, I got Mandy to help me. Even when my frustration was showing, she was patient and understanding. It quickly made me lose my frustrated attitude and soon we were chatting while she reset my phone and extended the screen lock time. This store is the absolute worst in the area of Morris County. I made an appointment there and was trying to close my dead Cousins account. I showed up with the Death Certificate and Power of Attorney and last bill. They took my $205 to close the account and then said they couldn't transfer another Verizon number to that phone. They even smiled at me when they said that they could no longer help. The Store charged me $205 that day. The next bill that came in for that account showed a $64 dollar credit. When I tried to call the Store or an 800 number I'm always told they are busy or most shocking that no information was saved from the visit to the Store. They took the Death Certificate and Power of Attorney at the Store and made copies, yet never entered it into the system and took our money knowing we overpaid. Then the "Owner" gave me a website for the refund that lead to a closed loop site. This store is crap and I wouldn't recommend my enemies here. read more

Helpful but worker was rude and condescending. He refused to answer questions that were relevant to the issue we had purely because he "would have to answer the questions that follow," even though they were for completely plausible hypothetical scenarios. He seemed to have no interest in providing good customer service and was very sarcastic when asked how Verizon deals with cloning issues. When pointed out he was refusing to answer questions, he claimed he said his answer was "I didn't know" (which was a complete lie since he said he wouldn't answer the question). CAN I GIVE NEGATIVE STARS ?!?!? I have been a loyal Verizon Wireless customer for many many years and I have been paying Verizon Wireless hundreds of dollars per month for years. So when I was looking to upgrade my phone there was not doubt in my mind, go to an office official Verizon Wireless corporate store (346 Route in East Hanover, NJ) get the best service. Was that a mistake !!! At the time Verizon Wireless was offering a special, buy one iPhone for regular price and get a second phone for free as long as you signed up for a 2 year contract. When I further inquired about what seemed to be a very good offer, the salesman said. Yes this is true but you need to add an additional phone number. "Don't worry" he said, we can take care of this by simply setting up an additional number to your family plan and we can then delete the number. Well, as it turned out not only was the number not taken off my account, I was paying for an extra line which line which I had no intention of using. When I called Verizon Wireless to explain what had happened and had demonstrated zero usage, date etc on this number the Customer Service Rep said there is "nothing I am willing to do for you" In addition, I said the Customer Service Rep, please look at my bill for the past several months, there is absolutely zero usage on this line ! Why would someone EVER agree to pay for 2 years of service for an extra line which is not needed. In hindsight, it was obvious that the sales reps at this story are only concerned about pushing product and do not care about customer service. In addition, I am confident Verizon Corporate has analytics which show cell phone numbers with zero usage by month. If Verizon Wireless Corporate cared about their customers, you would think they would contact us and ask if there is a problem with the service because we see zero usage. I am most likely leaving Verizon Wireless after 20+ years ! read more

This is the first I have ever posted a review but my experience was SO BAD at the East Hanover, NJ store location that I felt I HAVE to warn others. I was trying to help my elderly mother who is dying from Brain Cancer because her flip phone broke and her phone is very important to her to stay connected to family and friends. My mother and I called customer service to add me as an authorized user for hours and at the end of the conversation I was told that my name was added as an authorized user and I did not have to drag my handicapped mother to the store with her walker during covid. I went to the store thinking that I am going to get her her phone and move on but that was not the case. A sales associate and a General Manager who never told me their names said I could not replace a phone because I was not an authorized user. I explained my mothers health situation and lack of technology. My mother even called me anxiously asking if I got her phone and of course I had to sadly say they would not sell me one because I was not an authorized user. I begged the General Manager to speak to her and get authorization. She said no and did not care! They were so heartless! Disgusting behavior! I understand a policy is a policy! But people need to be human beings first especially in the times we are living in now! In order get my mother a phone I physically brought her to the store against doctors orders just so she can authorize me to the account. It's absurd! You can't even imagine how horrific this is! All for a flip phone!!!!! Not the newest iPhone on the market! My mother came rolling in with her walker just saying all I want is my phone! This awful experience could have been avoided if someone had a heart and used their head and authorized me as a user! You forced me and my mother to have unnecessary pain and suffering!!!! As a result of this horrific experience me and my whole family including my husband and our five children will be changing carriers.
