My husband and I were ecstatic when we found out that our apartment community was serviced by Verizon Fios - our first thought was YES fast internet and hundreds of channels!! Then just 5 months later to our dismay a company called Frontier was taking over. Since the transition, we couldn't get ahold of ANYONE! We couldn't get ahold of customer service, tech support or even get a real human being on the line to pay our bill!! I loved Verizon because of the OnDemand program - I could come home after a long work week and catch up on all of my favorite shows. But after the transition, everything was deleted and it would be months before they would upload each show or each network. Then three days ago, our cable completely went out! The error read "please check the coax cable connection between the RF In and Fios TV IN of your set top box and router." After doing this, securing all cables and rebooting the cable boxes about 10 times I called their customer service line. I was on the phone with a representative for over an hour trying to troubleshoot my cable when she finally said they would have to send a tech out in 2 days. The tech would arrive between 9AM and 5PM - what kind of time frame is that? There goes my entire day off. So today, we made zero plans and waited for a phone call or knock at the door. The tech never arrived and our cable is still out. I cannot wait to cancel my service with Frontier TOMORROW! This has been by far the worst in cable and internet service and would not recommend them to anyone!!! read more

Frontier is absolutely horrible... a complete joke. It's frustrating when you sign up for quality services (tv,intern, phone) and get switched over to horrible qualify. No HD, NO ACCESS TO ON-DEMAND, RIDICULOUS WIFI SERVICE since April. I've been complaining for a whole month, had a tech scheduled..... never showed up.... THANKS FRONTIER FOR WASTING MY SATURDAY.... I live in Chino and have been a customer of TWC in the first 4 years I have been living here. I have to negotiate my internet rate every year and on the last two years, I experienced less than stellar customer service with TWC. Finally, on the 4th year they refused to negotiate my rate anymore. At the same time, Verizon was offering $50 bundle for TV and internet + HBO for 12 months. So, I switched. Provided that my house was Fios ready, the installation was a breeze. For a year I enjoyed some TV channels like USA, HGTV, etc. but that soon got old with the reruns. Internet connectivity was not as stable as TWC. Granted, I had experienced total disconnect with TWC due to bad weather or some updates that went awry but I expected more from Fios. Specifically, I would experience intermittent disconnection while watching thru Netflix. At times it would completely disconnect while I am in the middle of watching a show. Then, it came a public battle between Netflix and Fios. I had to side with Netflix since I never experienced such disruption while on TWC. I also experience slow connectivity on the web at times - especially on Verizon's web even while I was on the super fast speed at work! This makes getting in touch with them online very difficult. Customer service... well, hmm... that's another matter. When my 12-month deal was up, the bill went up to $84 plus taxes and fees. I made a point of the $34/month jump that is highly significant and unreasonable and while they are polite on the phone, they don't negotiate. They keep saying, "Oh, we don't want to lose you as a loyal customer and will work with you on finding better rates..." were all just empty talk. They spend millions on advertising but in practice does nothing to retain loyal customers. sure, they still offer the $50 double play bundle and $34.99 for internet only for new customers but they don't give it to loyal customers. Not even when I mentioned that TWC is offering the same promotion. They just went silent and repeated how they don't want to lose you as a loyal customer but the best deal they can give me is $69 for internet only and $84 for double play bundle. So I am going back to TWC. But, not without claiming My Rewards+. And, the customer service for that department... is another sad story. read more

I moved to Rancho Cucamonga from the Bay Area. We have AWESOME Internet in the Bay Area--super-fast and super-cheap. I expected I'd be downgrading when I moved to Rancho Cucamonga. Well, Verizon FIOS isn't as good as my old provider, which was an Internet startup, but overall it's been a pleasant surprise. I consistently get fast upload/download speeds as determined by Speedtest.net. The monthly price is a bit higher than I'm used to paying, but compared to the alternatives in this area, Verizon is the best overall deal. My Internet almost always works (there's been a couple of times when it was apparently "down" for technical problems or maintenance), but not moreso than my old awesome ISP! The initial setup was very easy: the tech came to my house at the scheduled time and was a very helpful guy. One con: You have to use their router, which isn't the worst router in the world but not as good as my AirPort Extreme. Fortunately, there's a way to use the Verizon router as a "pass through" and use the functions of my AirPort Extreme, so I'm happy I can do that. I couldn't find a page for Frontier so I'll post this review here because Verizon Fios is the closest thing to it. Ever since Frontier took over for Verizon I've had nothing but problems with my internet. And it was such a hassle calling Frontier to get it fixed..they kept asking for my Frontier account number..how the fck would I know my Frontier account number when I was with Verizon just days prior? I spoke to like 3 or 4 reps who said they couldn't access my account because I didn't have my account number..they can't look it up by anything else like bdate, social etc. It was ridiculous. They really should've made the transition easier for customers. Anyway when I finally got my account number a few days later I called them back. I waited 63 mins to speak to a rep who didn't know why my internet wasn't working. She set up an appt for someone to come by and troubleshoot the problem..the soonest they could come out was a week later so I was stuck. Good thing my internet was back up the next day though..I guess it was a network issue that they resolved. Another time I called I waited 61 minutes to be helped only for the rep to hang up on me. They have some very rude people working there. Its like they're angry all the time. Don't blame the customer because you're stuck working in a call center..I had nothing to do with the choices you made in life. Dealing with Frontier makes me want to pull my hair out..or take a bat to something because I get so frustrated. How does a company survive treating their customers that way? Bunch of aholes. Decided I'd like to give Frontier FIOS a shot in Rancho Cucamonga - well that was a mistake... After a lengthy sign-up phone call - and 3 appointment windows where a technician did not call or show up... I called customer service for the 3rd and final time. I received conflicting info yet again - telling me no install appointment was setup as my order is set for a self install. I really don't know how Frontier can stay in business much longer - they can't even setup a new service. I wouldn't trust them to keep services up if they can't even go out of their way to make sure the onboarding is perfect. Looks like I'll stick with Spectrum - they are bad - but Frontier just showed me they are not the worst option. read more

Absolutely Horrible service! Read before you sign up. The website markets "Most Reliable Fiber Optics In the Nation". The first time, our Phone, Internet and Cable went out. Called their Customer service line and was told sorry it will be 6 days until we can get a tech. We kept calling and bounced around until finally someone says they can get a tech out the same day. Tech comes out and unplugs the most reliable fiber optic line and plugs to a different port and says looks like squirrels chewed up the other line. Second time out phone, internet and cable went out was exactly 1 week later. Did I mention they have the most reliable fiber optic line in the nation? I've explained to their customer service reps that having a customer without phone, internet and cable for 6 days is not acceptable. Their response is that their busy and their techs over worked. If that's the case then they should hire more techs or a 3rd party contractor to help out. Did I mention I telecommute from home so without internet I can't work from home. Did I mention that my security system, my video surveillance cameras are connected to my internet and phone? Did I mention heaven forbid there is a fire and we can't call 911 because our phones are down? Yes I have a cell phone but I happen to live on a dead cellular spot, go figure right? So no cable so I can't enjoy my weekend by watching the news in TV, can't even watch the news on my computer cause..... my cable is out. Their response was to see if I could use a neighbors wifi and my response, then I might as well use your competitors service. Here's the kicker and what makes me mad. After the second time my service went down, I kept asking to speak to a manager and spoke with some supervisor who said sorry there's nothing he can do and absolutely nothing I can do. I told him Frontier doesn't care about its customers. The very next day I get a call from the same supervisor and was told that Frontier does care about its customers and that he wanted to show me that. He said to be home because they do have tech coming out that day. I waited from 8:30 am until 4:00 pm finally calling to speak with someone and was told no such arrangements were made. So this Frontier employee calls me up and lied to me. Wasted my entire day waiting for someone that wasn't coming. I called their office of the president and was told sorry for your time we gave you a $25 credit. I asked if that supervisor would be held accountable for his actions. Unfortunately, their system doesn't time stamp the employees number, date and time they accessed your account therefore trying to trace that person is useless. So basically, an employee could go into your account, steal your personal data and exit the account without being caught??? But hey they have the MOST RELIABLE FIBER OPTICS IN THE NATION Oh by the way, I was told that the Business Class internet service charges a higher premium but they get your service back up and running same day or within 24 hours. I am a former customer of Verizon fios/frontier communications as 4 days ago. It started in Sunday when I decided to cut out the hardline. Never used it and was part of the 2 yr agreement when I got the bundle package. I went on line and did the chat window customer service option. Which was fine I was done in about 20-30 minutes time and was very satisfied with the service. Even asked her/him several questions concerning my current tv and Internet speed that I have thinking I would bump up the Internet. At the end I kept all the same. Here's when the fun begins...... Monday I get up no service at all. I thought it was odd but at the same time I figured it was one of those anomaly type situations and by the time I got home from work all would be good. Not the case. So I did everything I could rebooted all the devices and still nothing. So I begin an adventure that I would not wish upon my worst enemy. Initially I was on hold for 30 minutes, ok I get it there busy and its late afternoon, I finally get connected to the customer service rep. Of course I did not have the info needed to pull up my account but with a lot of questions to identify me we finally start talking about the issue. After several minutes she said that I need to talk to tech support. Ok no problem, 45 minutes later after listening to the same music I get a tech guy. I have to go through the same process to identify myself. Several minutes later he finds my account and we discuss the problem... He then says I need to put you on hold for a few minutes as he looks further into the situation. Okay I said......20 minutes later I get disconnected... Great is all I can say at the time... Thinking that they would return my call..... Anyways after a few minutes no call so I proceed to call back. Guess what.... I had to go through the whole process again as stated above with even a longer hold time. Talk to csr, transfers me to tech support at this time they can't help me, so I asked to speak with a supervisor. All I wanted was answers why it was cut and when was it going to be enabled again. 30 more minted of hold time..... Supervisor gets on and he is breaking up and can't hear me as I can't hear him. I said please call me back. We can't do that and then hung up on me. Mind you I am boiling over and ready to give them what's my thoughts were... But I refrained. I call back after 45 minutes of hold time I get a csr again. The whole prices of identifying me all over. After all that I have to transfer you to tech support. I demanded at this point to get me in Direct contact as I have been on hold for nearly 3 hrs. Her reply I am sorry we can't do that. I responded okay that's it cancell my service I am done with your company. She says I have to forward you to another department. WTF, really!?!?!? She responds yes I can not do that. Guess what on hold for another 30-40 minutes. The overall hold time was 4 hrs 20 Minutes..... Total talk time was 10 maybe 15 minutes. And the funny thing in all this I never figured out why the service was disconnected. Lol Frontier communications were not prepared for his merger or what ever it was. They have lost my business for life. I can't wait to get my last bill at that time I will send my billing of my time. read more

Frontier is absolutely one of the worst companies i have ever worked with. The employees seem to know little to nothing about what it is that they are doing, and the sales department will tell you whatever you want to hear in order to get a sale out of a single inquiry. 3 weeks ago i called Verizon (now Frontier) to schedule an appointment for internet services. The young lady was pleasant and quoted me 39.99 for 25/25. It sounded good to me so i went with it. I schedule the service be performed for monday, which is my day off, to which she confirms with me and completes that conversation. Monday came and went and no tech. I call back on tuesday to inquire about the install. Frontier tells me they had a problem wirh a work order and in turn, did not regiater in their system. They reachedules me for wednesday of the following week, which i agree to. Wednesday came and went, and again, no call and no tech. Thursday however, i get a knock on the door from a Frontier tech letting me know hes here to install my internet. Fair enough, i bite and even though i had to work that evening i let him in to do the install. When i asked why he didnt show up the previous day he just said, there was a mix up with the work order. 4 hours later he finished and when i askes for a speed test he tells me 7/3...."or about that" he says... when i was promised 25/25 and get a fraction of thay, i decide to contact Frontier a few days later. I tey using my laptop prior to calling them, and the speed is ridiculously slow. Same thing with my phone. Streaming is non existent. Just horrendous. When i called Frontier to see if there was maybe a mix up with what they were providing me with, i spent over an hour on hold. Only to be hung up by the young lady who i was speaking with with no call back. I called again today, a week later, where i spent over 45 minutes dealing with a young man. I informed him of what had happenes last time and told him i hoped it woildnt happen again. Within 5 minutes the line hangs up again.... i am now extremely frustrated and ready to take the install loss and the one month fee and switch to TWC. This company will never get my business again, and i will make sure to tell my family, friends and clients about the poor customer service, as well as the low quality product they are offering the unsuspecting public. I signed on with Verizon for home internet service, which changed the next day to Frontier Communications (Verizon). What a nightmare it has been. They delivered the modem and equipment promptly, but never assigned me Internet service. Therefore, when I attempted to install it in April 2016 there was no connection. I called Frontier and explained the situation, then being transferred around and given different numbers to call we found out the tech support department was now closed and we would have to wait til the following day to call back. I tried calling during the week to find out what the problem was with my equipment and they could not locate my account since they assigned my phone number to someone else's account and vice versa. Then, in May, I had my friend's adult son come help me to set up the Internet thinking it was operator error and maybe I just did not know what I was doing. However, after he hooked it up just as I had previously done, the Internet still did not work. We called and again were transferred three times and then told we could not be helped. Then, I received a bill for $111.30 from Frontier! I called and asked them to pick up their equipment and zero out my bill since I had not received any services and I was not about to pay for services that have provided me with nothing but a headache. She should have sent a tech out then, but instead she said she would zero out my bill and check my account. She told me to try again and I did in June 2016 and the result was nil again. I called and she FINALLY scheduled a tech to come out on the 21st. He came out, but the customer service representative failed to let me know the person at the house would need to be 18 when the service tech arrived. My daughter is 17 so he could not help us. Therefore, Frontier has wasted my time, which is more precious that money. They wasted my time, my daughter's time, and have stressed me out. I told them they need to pick up their equipment or I'll recycle it and take me off their client list since they don't provide me with anything. I checked on the Better Business Bureau website and saw Charter Communications is a fairly decent provider for my area and they are coming Saturday to install their product. I already love Charter more because they are sending the tech to install the equipment and, therefore, if anything goes wrong they will be able to tell right then. Frontier is a wonder they are actually in business. I have never heard anything positive about Frontier and now I most definitely understand why. They are terrible. read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE: I called 3 days ago to try to get a signal sent for a new box. I spent 31 minutes on the phone with a rep that was trying his best to help, but it just didn't work so I set up an appointment for today for a tech to come to the house between 8-12. When no one showed up or called, I called to see if the tech was still coming. I spoke to three reps that refused to let me know if I should stay home waiting for the tech (after waiting 4 hrs)! All because I don't know the pin & couldn't get a hold of my roommate for it. BUT it was ME that called trying to get a signal sent (without knowing the pin) & it was ME that made the appointment (without knowing the pin) & it was ME that sat home for 4 hrs waiting on a tech that never showed up or called! I wasn't asking for any info or nothing privacy related, I just wanted to know if the tech was still coming to the house so I could leave! This is unacceptable customer service! read more

On a positive note Jane in their sales department was very helpful in removing charges that didn't apply to my account. Retro some monthly charges that we didn't have. I had an installation appointment between 8-12 on a Saturday. By 11:50 , I started wondering what was going on with the installation, so I called. It took them 1 hour and 27 minutes to tell me that they were not going to come. The poor gentleman helping me kept apologizing, which it wasn't his fault. It's It's The companies problem for not keeping their word. I wasted over 5 hours of my time and my poor sons time waiting. They think that 25 dollars credit is going to solve the problem... There were still people that had other services like AT&T and TWC as well as dish providers. Lie 2 We were told that the picture on the TV would get better. The quality of the picture wasn't vibrant. Also, we were locked out of our TV screen controls with that box they plugged in. Later, we saw that other Fios customers managed to get their controls back. Lie 3 Best service around. this company automatically changed my fios service from 10mps to 25mps without me knowing then charged me for the speed increase, to make matters worst I called in to cancel service after finding out, they then charged me for early termination fee. I told their representative that I have never asked for the speed increase and asked them where it came from, they then sent me an email that I should've gotten when they were inquiring about the increase but since I did not catch that email 6 months prior there was nothing they could do. Verizon Fios recently sold their business to Frontier Communications. My wife and I have been loyal paying customers of Verizon internet, phone, and wi-FI for several years. After the acquisition of Verizon by Frontier Communications, we started experiencing many different problems which included disruption of the three above mentioned services. We patiently waited a month before contacting customer service hoping that Frontier would work out the kinks of the acquisition. We finally lost our patience with Frontier and contacted their customer service. We are extremely disappointed with their customer service. They fixed the Internet and television service, but screwed up our phone service. We have tried contacting them everyday since the first contact with customer service. We have spent a total of six hours on the phone over the last three days. That is absolutely ridiculous. We have asked for Frontier Communications to fix the problem with out phone that they created. We have reviewed confirmation numbers with the promise that the problems will be fixed within one to two hours. They have failed to fix anything. I am ready to break my contract and leave them forever. I'm hoping this review will find readers that have experienced the same issues. I can't believe a company with so much money can be so incompetent. I was a faithful Verizon Business customer for years excellent service, my building sold and the new landlord refused to renew my lease, so I had to transfer service from a new location...., I was told, it was a different area, and that they did not offer business DSL (under Verizon they gave me Business DSL), Frontier has been a nightmare, I called and asked for a transfer of services to my new location, they told me they would send someone out in 2 weeks which was fine with me since I still had 3 months on my lease, and my location was a fixer upper and I was given 2 free months to fix it up (had been vacant for 6 months), since I was still at my old location, but those 2 weeks came by and on the day of installation, I had my son wait in my new location to let him in, well the day came and went and when I called, they told me they had no record of it..... well they scheduled to come out in a weeks time, this time they came, according to my son, they had 2 guys come do the install, the problem!, they only installed a phone line, my internet, no call waiting, no calling ID, no fios TV!, and the phone number they installed totally different then the one they told me it would be, I called and complained and told them about the new phone number, they told me, their computer screwed up and the work order was for someone else who wanted phone service only, I of course cursed them out, and they told me, Mr. Felton you dont speak to me that way, I will hang up this call. I asked to speak to a manager and was told, I dont have a manager, they hung up on me. I called back and a totally different girl answered, this one told me, it would be a 2 week wait for a new install date.... well 2 weeks passed, and the guy showed up, and installed the internet and tv, but I asked about caller id, and call forwarding, he told me wait let him call, after 10 minutes on the phone, he told me sorry, hes just a installer, and no one was available at the call center to do the programming, I called again and was told it another 2 weeks, WTH is up with this company, this is insanely a true story, such horrible service. read more

Since the change from Verizon to Frontier and from Verizon email to AOL, we have been very dissatisfied and disappointed in our service. We were notified just before the change happened with both AOL and Frontier. How inconsiderate and assuming of you, Verizon, AOL and Frontier, to just inform us and not give the paying customer any rights to change service and/or cancel service. I changed from AOL in the past because I was unhappy with AOL and now I must use them regardless of my opinion. In addition, I chose Verizon as my provider for residential services but I guess that does not matter. I lost my 'one bill' and, supposedly, I still have my discount but cannot see it on my billing statement. In fact, I am unable to view my bill with Frontier as I do not have my Verizon account number as I did not save my last statement, unknowing that I needed to save it. I lost my auto debit and had to re-set it up for my Verizon wireless account. I have tried to reestablish my auto debit for my residential services, but, as I stated, I do not have my account number, and Frontier demands that to arrange such services online. I am frustrated that I have to take the time to arrange these when I already had auto debit in place. My time is priceless as a working mother to a child with special needs. Since the change to Frontier residential services, we have encountered slow internet and even regular interruptions in internet services. This has caused us to be using data unknowingly as we were not connected to the Wi-Fi in our home. We did not have this problem previously. In addition, we are regularly experiencing interruptions in sound and experiencing interruptions in picture that is not related to weather. In addition, we have not been able to access almost all on-demand services, with a meaningless message on the screen instructing us to be patient while Verizon transitions to Frontier. So I am paying full price but not receiving all the services I pay for? I am stuck in a contract, not allowed to leave contract without penalties, but forced to change providers. In addition, the service has been substandard. We chose to pay the expensive rates for Verizon because we expected a high level of service and quality of product. However, what we have experienced is very poor service for internet with interruptions in and loss of service, no on-demand services, increased use of our mobile data as your services are not reliable, and a lack of caring on your part, Verizon, AOL and Frontier. Why were not offered any discount during this transition while a large part of residential services is not working correctly? Why am I reading your propaganda that this is a change that will be for the best but the quality has decreased since April 1st? Why am I reading horrible reviews of Frontier online and hearing similar disappointing reviews by fellow Verizon customers? I expected a much higher level of service from your companies, and I am quite disappointed. We have been customers with Verizon for wireless services for more than 15 years. We have been customers of Verizon for residential services for 10 years. This is how you treat committed customers? Do you not value our business? We have stayed with you despite lower rates by other providers, despite not being offered any deals or discounts for being long-standing customers, when introductory "deals" are offered to new customers. I expect a response from your companies. If these concerns are not addressed, we will be taking our business elsewhere, and since we spend more than $250 a month on residential services and more than $300 a month on wireless services, I would think our business would matter to you. read more

Is there no "negative stars" I can select? Frontier Communications is HORRIBLE ! Since they took over from Verizon in April...we have not had quality television service! The programs do not DVR correctly...the ENTIRE channel lineup is pixilated from 10:30am - 7pm EVERY day...so we cannot watch live tv...but have to watch something lame on On Demand. When i call to get service, they have told me to canvas my neighborhood to see if they are having trouble too...R U serious? I'm going to walk around getting service information for YOUR company. I HATE everything about this company...when you try and get something taken care of...they make it worse. BUT they sure charge you...$250.00 per month! TWC here we come!! read more

Frontier is horrible. I asked for a 50% reduction in my bill. They said $50 was all they would do. You lost me as a customer. I hope it was worth it to you. If you are shopping for service, do NOT go with these people. I was unable to use most of my cable services for a month. My bill is $250. I would have stayed but they were unwilling to be reasonable. My mom has been with Verizon for many years but since Frontier took over, she's had nothing but trouble. I signed us both up at the same time but I guess, since my mom doesn't have a computer, they felt it was ok to change her rate whenever the mood hit. Recently her rate went from $123 to $170. I called to see if I could get a lower rate for my 86 year old mother, who only has cable and phone, no computer. After 40 minutes of trying to get Mary to give my mom a lower rate, Mary tells me she can no longer hear me and I will need to hang up so she can call me right back. After about five minutes, she calls back and apologizes for the wait--she "got another customer and had to help them first". She then told me she tried to get help from their Loyalty Department but "they were of no help". When I asked to speak with a supervisor, Mary told me it would take 40 minutes to get them on the line. For cable and phone, the best they could do for my mother was $120 a month plus at least $20 in fees and taxes. When I told Mary that my mom would probably cancel, Mary suggested I go to Radio Shack to buy an antenna for the TV. read more
