It's been 6 plus months since I visited but I was helped by a nice girl who set up my prepaid account when I made the switch from AT&T. I am sad I don't remember her name to give her credit but she was uber helpful and the reason I am going to return to the store. I hope she is still there. The process was easy and she didn't make it crazy by trying to sell me stuff I didn't need. I realize buying a new phone can be stressful and then pairing it with another is waaay over my head that is why I'm so thankful for Mike and Shoshanna the techs at Verizon.. both were very professional, friendly, and went way over the line to help me with my concerns...they are holding the fort with a skeleton crew and the two of them do a fantastic job under stress of inconsiderate and rude people who refuse to wait their turn... in this day and age it's rare to find two so dedicated and helpful people! Not sure if many people are aware of this but because this is a retail location, that's what you get retail. No tech support, no knowledgeable staff to really help you just a salesman pushing their product. I contacted Verizon and they confirmed this. So if you know what you are doing and do not need guidance go ahead and shop here but if you need help with your phone don't waste your time. Also many employees seem to come and go, not a good sign. I went in to find a case for my not brand new phone and the overly makeuped girl with a snotty voice let me know that my phone was too old for their store. Why locate your store where Verizon reception is terrible? Whoever decided to put the store there should be fired. Great way to promote your service. I purchased a phone for my daughter and after several hours at the store it hadn't finished transferring data. Never have I had such a horrible experience. And they don't have hi-speed internet. Today I stopped by to purchase a screen cover I was there for 15 minutes and didn't even get acknowledged. A simple "it might take us awhile to finish up with one of their customers" would have been nice. I left the store without talking to either sales staff. Ironically I overheard sales person telling another customer a story about how it took more than 12 hours to back up another customers phone and suggested she do it at home and come back. Get hi-speed internet or get service from your competitor. read more

My Droid was dying, and I need a phone for work. I am not one to drive far away for service, but I will drive the 17 miles to Carson City to avoid this store. 1.The store has no inventory. 2. The sales people do not know what inventory they have. 3. Bait and switch tactics. You select a phone from the showroom only to find that it is not is stock. This makes you upgrade to a higher tier phone. There are 3 sales people in the store, all are inept. Larry, Moe, and Curly. With a gun to my head I choose a higher grade phone. The associate loads all of my data from the old phone into new phone. We are about an hour + into the process by now. When the data transfer is completed, the manager who is standing there witnessing the entire process informs the associate that the phone he has loaded all of my data into, is not the phone I was promised, but the deluxe phone, of course with a deluxe price. I didn't want that deluxe phone. Surprise, the phone I was supposed to be getting is out of stock. They do see one in Lodi, Ca, but it will not happen today, and the Lodi store demands an inventory swap if I am to get my phone, and that is deliberated. After 2 hours I give up and select another upper tier phone that they actually have in stock. The associate completes loading my data into the phone I chose, again the manager standing right there, after the download was complete, the manager tells the associate that since he cancelled the first phone that my data was loaded into, that I may not get the $150 rebate, because the first wrong phone would be considered my upgrade, not the second phone. Worst experience EVER. Run FAR away from these idiots at this store. I finally got my phone. Where advertised as a $49.95 upgrade ended up costing me $304.00 and several unnecessary hours of my life. If there was a ZERO star option, I would have selected it. read more

Rip off alert!!!! order online instead. My partner (a senior), bought a new Samsung S7. They were having a "holiday special" so we bought the bundle. They charged $19.50 to transfer the pics and settings (Best Buy does it for free). They charged $50 for a screen protector you can get on Amazon for $20. Worse yet, it didn't cover the entire screen! We didn't notice until later that evening and called. Our sales person Josiah said sure, bring it back. Josiah is a fast talker. We went back and spoke to another salesperson, Kylie. She said that since the screen protector was part of the "bundle" we would lose the full amount of the discount so they would only refund $28, not $50. The reason the screen protector doesn't fit is because of the S7 bevelled edges. We were not informed of that fact before Josiah installed it. Kylie told us that is the only one Verizon carries. That is a lie. There is a Zag full body glass protector on Verizon's website for $24.99 (half the price of the one that doesn't fit). There are 100s of complaints about that screen protector online but instead of informing their customers of alternatives this store doubles the price, tells you it's a discount and then charges $20 to return it! The kids working in this store are obviously under a lot of pressure to sell overpriced accessories that they know won't work for their customers. Shopping local is important but the community would be better off without this store. read more

My husband and I went in to ask a few questions about our phone plan and the WORST customer service. When we walked in the door the employees were helping other customers so we sat down and waited. A blonde lady with short hair said she would be right with us. She flirted with a male customer, even walked him out. After that we thought- how nice this establishment cares about its customers. While we waited she stood up front gossiping about drinks with her coworker and finally when she got bored of that conversation, she said she was ready for us. When we walked up, we told her our issue and she looked us dead in the face, laughed and said "HA I can't help you with that" and WALKED AWAY! Super helpful and great communication. Lady where are you going? Like are you pulling out a card/ number where we can go, going to the bathroom, your shifts over?? I dont know. Finally she came back and said we had to call a number. So we left. It's no problem that the issue couldn't be resolved there, but the rudeness was not okay. No human should be treated so disrespectfully, especially not a customer. read more

Do not deal with the Gardnerville Verizon store. They are not a real Verizon store. Ask them. Let me tell you why. We moved to Gardnerville from Oregon. We were part of a 5 line plan with our son. We just needed our own 2 cell phones on our contract. The lady salesman said she had some "great deals" for us. It took her over 2 hours to figure out how to give us our own account. For the "great deal", she told us we needed to get "free" Samsung Tab 2 tablets to reduce our bill by $20 per month. We did not want the tablets, but according to her it was a way to save monthly bills. We would pay for them and they'd send us a rebate. She sold us a monthly charge for 2 phones at $115 per month. We thought the cost was high. So we called Verizon wireless customer service to discuss the forced sale of the tablets and the high cost for 2 phones. Bottom line. Verizon customer service gave us a plan for $79 per month. These guys are shysters. We should have looked at the Verizon Wireless web page before we went to the store. Go to Carson City Verizon. Run, don't walk from these guys. You will pay too much. Be careful. read more

My husband and I recently upgraded our phones at this premium outlet. We have been verizon customers because we are happy with the coverage offered. Our purchase went well and we made an expensive decision to buy iPhone 6s but were told a $100 rebate per phone was available so the cost was a bit mitigated. At the end of business we were told the rebate form wasn't available but to come by in a few days and they would have it. When I returned I was told that employee wasn't there anymore and had falsely offered a rebate that was never available for me. This is the second time I have been falsely informed about the costs or services offered by employees at this store. There will not be a third time. I will shop elsewhere. Don't bother complaining to verizon. They do not stand behind any premium outlet. read more

I really wish I read these reviews before coming into this store. The employees here care more about whatever benefits they receive for pushing the Samsung's. I came in Monday and stated I wanted any iPhone. They used any deceitful tactics they could to push me in the direction of Samsung. For example when I said I used androids before and I don't think they're user friendly he stated "this is not an Android. It's so much more". I was clearly uncomfortable the entire time and just wanted to leave with an iPhone. They struggled getting my service switched over from sprint and ultimately blamed me for it not working. He said to me today that it's my fault for not signing out of my iCloud. Which wasn't mentioned Monday -- they stated eventually my service would "switch" over automatically. When I asked what it would cost if I was not satisfied with the Android they stated $35. They did not mention I would NOT be credited for the amounts I paid towards the protection of the device or that I would have to pay the tax on another phone. I had to pay again for the Apple product and protection of my devices which was not told to me on Monday. These employees must take advantage of more people and it's saddening to think about. Beings I've never heard anything good about this store and some of the people in there were angry or arguing with staff I will not return for any reason. I was not given my receipts I'm assuming for a reason. Scandalous people and a poor way to run business. I had to switch my iPhone over by myself because he refused to help me and started helping other customers. Including taking multiple phone calls during. Also stating he would explain why the Note 10 was better but it was "useless" at that point. Then when I just asked for an iPhone because that's all I wanted he said "downgrade it is". My husband and I switched from ATT to Verizon in December 2018. I had issues with my phone activation and several questions on the paperwork and returned an item. It took me several tries at the Verizon store and a couple of calls to tech support and customer care to figure out what was going on. I was patient and did not give up. My most recent interaction with the store manager was very satisfactory, She took good care of me and all my issues are resolved. I am only giving them 3 stars though because it took several failed attempts and a lot of driving back and forth before my issues were taken care of. read more

I am writing to compliment Josiah, Manager of Verizon Wireless and his knowledgeable, friendly staff, Kylie, Brooke and Matt, at the Verizon Store in Gardnerville, NV, a Great Store! Having a Verizon cell phone, I enjoy the wonderful cell coverage while traveling through Nevada, California and Arizona! My wife on the other hand, had a different carrier with very little coverage in the area. She quickly decided to move over to Verizon as well. Kyle and Brooke helped with the service and telephone transfer which went quite smoothly!! As new residents to the area, we secured satellite TV. When it came to internet service we spoke with Josiah, as we understood Verizon had options we might like to consider. Josiah was very patient, clear and articulate in discussing how the Verizon equipment and plan would work for us. We were thrilled to learn of the coverage and small device needed to accomplish all that we wanted! We selected the Verizon Jetpack 4G, which is cost effective, portable, easy to use, and offers wonderful coverage and speed. It has eliminated the need for a modem, router and burdensome, unsightly cables in our home - an added bonus for sure!! We are most happy with our decision and the customer service we received. Horrible customer service! Our visit started off by being told we did everything wrong. It was our mistake for ordering from verizon.com/corporate and no one should EVER do that. We received numerous eye rolls & sighs, while being asked irrelevant questions like how much we paid for the phone. When we went to pay, using a gift card, we continued to recieve more eyerolls, sighs, huffs & puffs because she wasn't used to that type of gift card. When she finally figured out how to use it, we were told there was no money on it. We knew this was a mistake as it was a gift from my daughters grandparents. She just tried to hand me some print out with people's name, address, and other vital information on it on whom we don't know saying that it use to have $400 on it in dec 2015 and know has nothing on it. I asked her she could just take care of it and provide some good customer service but refused to listen to me and just kept shoving the paper in my face. Needless to say, I walked out. Not only is it frustrating to be treated horrible by an employee, the sheer audacity and narcissism of her to keep on pushing someone else's private information in my face just shows how out of touch she is. We added a third line and was told the phone we wanted wasn't in stock...no problem...the employee said she could have another employee bring one from the Dayton store the following day. The following day comes and I call to confirm my phone was brought from Dayton...she CONFIRMS my specific phone was at the store and said they were open until 9pm for me to pick it up. After work, I go to pick up my new phone, and the employee I spoke to on the phone looks at the other employee as if she knew she got caught. Low and behold...NO PHONE! She didn't even have the decency to TRY and explain why she said my phone was in stock, but rather, referred me to the other employee who simply said "Sorry"... read more

He was very professional and knowledgeable on all the products and services that Verizon has to offer and because of that I switched my services over to Verizon from Sprint. What a lame store. It used to have knowledgeable people, but no more. I needed technical help with my tablet and Miracast connectivity. The first guy looked like he had never heard about Miracast and screen sharing. The manager wouldn't get off the phone and said she uses Chromecast. Who cares what she uses? When I transferred my service to Verizon at the Gardnerville store, I added here JetPak internet service. I described my usage to the salesman Tony, that I watched Netflix 3 or 4 hours a night and used the internet for my business, etc. I was told the 10 gigabite plan would cover that, so I signed up. After 2 days I was sent a message that I had exceeded my 10 gigabits and was being charged $15.00 per gigabite for the remainder of the cycle. They are doing nothing to resolve this, and I guess I'm trapped contractually for for 2 years because of there unethical sales tactics. Plan on sueing read more

So I posted my Review yesterday on 12/21/2016 regarding the disaster I experienced. I wanted to write a review on my experience today... I went in and spoke with Josiah, the manager. He was extremely apologetic and made every attempt and righting the wrongs. I hope everything works out as it needs to but wont know for sure until I get the bill. Josiah did assure me that when I get the bill if something is not correct to let him know and he will take care of it. Josiah did speak with the District Manager about the mess and they did make it right. I may be leery going to this store in the future, however I can't say i'll never go again because Josiah did make it right and did indicate he will be working with the rep that caused this mess in the first place. I think some additional training, slowing down in the sales speech and detailing every charge out before making someone pay is very important. Again the $19.99 set up fee should be addressed by the District Managers/owners, that's a bit excessive where other places do it for free, or I could have went home and done it free on my computer with ITunes. All in all I'm very thankful that Josiah and this store made everything right, which in turn would make me consider going again one day. read more
