This review is with an incident that occurred a year pre-covid in 2019 that I am still paying for till this day 9/2020 from this store. I went in to pickup my upgrade and was told to come back in a few days to take advantage of their dads and grads promo. I came back, instructed the staff why I was there and they said yes I qualify being that I'm still within the window to take advantage of their promo as long as I add a line to get the free phone. I'm arguing with Verizon cust svc till this very day because they say the store must've not entered the incorrect promo code, so I'm responsible. No one from the store answers when cut svc calls to confirm and when I go in they say they only assist with urgent matters. How is their mistake not an urgent matters of my financials during this time? So I'm stuck paying for a line they added the day I got the promo phone and version doubts I went into the corporate store because they say it says differently, but I know better than to go to an authorized retailer and I always go through corporate. But now a corporate store is the one that screwed me over and I have 7 loyal lines with Verizon which adds insult to injury. The staff are incompetent here because I've gone here to talk this over with them and they always say, "oh it will reflect the credit on the next 2-3 bill cycles." Well here I am over a year and a half later and still no credits. I call Verizon cust svc monthly to argue that the credit still hasn't shown up and I hate explaining myself over and over for the lack of communication this entire company has. read more

Location is near Costco. Walked into this store to have some things taken care of. 4 workers at the counter and all of them stood there and just stared with giggles and one of them backed away. None of them obviously wanted to work. They weren't busy but were chatting with each other. One did eventually step up to "help" but I had to go elesewhere to fix an issue. When I returned to have some numbers on my acct switched , Daniel helped me. He got one switched and the other one he couldn't figure out, he shooed us away , (it was last half hr before closing)he literally started looking around as I was talking to him. I went to Costco where I purchased the phone and had Costco tell me Verizon needed to look for the phone in the system. Because it was a promo phone and it's been on my account. I went home and called Verizon instead. They are way more helpful on the phone and really try to help you. This storefront is a waste of time. Do what you can by calling 611. There are not too many places I give 5 stars too but this one really deserved it. Larry is the man. Seriously, he went above and beyond to help me out. More so then what he had to. I brought in an iPad that a previous store was unable to activate. Larry began working on the iPad and was having trouble activating the iPad. He tried a few work arounds before calling over a co worker. The two together worked on getting my iPad activated on the Verizon network. They were still having trouble but nonetheless didn't give up. Both gentleman, continually apologized for the wait. I was just grateful that they actually tried unlike the last Verizon store I went to. I even asked if all iPad 2 airs were unlocked, which was the same information that was incorrectly given to me at the last store, and he assured me that I was in fact correct. I knew that these employees were correctly informed. Rather then trying to sell me an iPad from them they worked on mine and got it running. Another lady, I'm assuming the manager offered a work around that got my iPad activated. This store impressed me so much that I'm considering a switch over from my regular cellular provider. Honestly if I could give zero stars I would. I have been with this company for about 4 years now. They over charged me from the very start. I was finally over it and called to see what we can do about lowering the bill. The guy I talked to said that was the best deal I can get, $95 a month for one line. I called again the next day to talk to someone else and I talked to a very sweet lady. She told me that I had a free phone available since I had an old model and could lower my bill by $40. Ridiculous that some how the guy couldn't see that. I got the new phone and was paying $64 a month now. A couple months later I was having money problems. I went to xfinity and they told me I could go on their phone line for $45 and they would take $30 off of my home wifi bill every month. So obviously I couldn't say no. I called Verizon to disconnect and went onto xfinity. The lady from Verizon didn't say anything about paying off the phone I got, just gave me the transfer number. I got an email a week later saying that I will receive a bill in the mail for the phone. I've waited a month for this letter to never arrive. Yesterday morning I woke up to my account be overdrawn by $500. I'm 24 years old and only had $230 in my account. Enough for the two bills I had left for the end of February. Instead I have zero dollars in my account AND an overdraft of $500 plus a $36 overdraft free. I have been on the phone for hours and hours getting transferred to different departments. One lady told me yesterday that she is reversing the charges. I called today to make sure that was still happening and the lady told me it was denied. So they were never going to call me back and tell me. They keep telling me to call the business number and they NEVER answer. Sends me straight to their voice-mail and no matter how many times i tell the people, they still transfer me so they dont have to deal with it. I have a voice video of it doing it. They refuse to help me. Especially during times like these how can you be so heartless to TAKE $733 out of someone's account WHEN THEY DONT EVEN HAVE THAT AMOUNT IN THERE. Money hungry business. It's pathetic. I've talked to about 20 of your phone agents and none of them have helped me. Just sent me to the next person to tell the same story to over and over and over again, just to not get any help. Once again, I do not recommend Verizon, a heartless money hungry company. read more

Was in there to upgrade to a new iPhone. I have been a Verizon customer for over 20 years and never have I been treated so poorly. The more questions I asked about fees and promotions the more annoyed the representative got. After purchasing the phone she proceeds to tell me that the monthly price wouldn't be the price she quoted because it takes a couple months to apply credit. Funny she didn't mention that before we bought the phone. I have always been given an orientation when purchasing a new phone. This time I had to ask questions, and I got short snippy answers. I went in the store yesterday and was told they were going to overnight my new phone to me I have paid insurance and extended coverage on my phone for about 10 yrs or better, never had a problem until yesterday my phone went black and would not hold a charge or anything so I took my phone in to them first thing there was no sim card in it that is what I ask for them to put on in for me when I first bought it they took my phone in the back and said they put on in for me will it does not have one in it, #2 is they told me they were overnighting me a new phone I still do not have it. Not sure why I paid extra for these extras , #3 I have been on hold for about 1 hr and still have not been helped. As a new Verizon customer I had up to this point been very impressed by their customer service. That was until I came to this corporate store in Modesto. To make a long story short I was basically told that I was to be charged a $35 restocking fee for a broken phone that was sent to my wife via Verizon online. The weird thing was when I called Verizon customer service from the store they explained to me that this was a lie and the manager could waive the fee and replace the phone with whatever phone my wife wanted. After escalating my issue from Larry to the Manager Zaya I was told by Zaya "Well bro thats up to them, I cant do it here". So I basically sat in the store for 45 min talking to all these people for nothing. Fortunately the woman from Verizon customer service was able to help me from the store as I had to call to progress my issue for I was getting no help from the staff. She was able to send my wife a new phone overnight, wave the restocking fee, and include a screen saver. I will never be back to this store again!!! Rude and not helpful AT ALL. As for the manager he needs to work on his customer service skills and remember its not about his bottom dollar its about the customer. read more

I purchased a phone, car charger and case from Verizon. After comparing service and prices I switched to their competitor. My car charger never worked. I tried going to several Verizon stores to get a replacement and they always use their testers to see if it works or not. The damn thing works with the testers but not in my car, nor in my rental, nor in my other car. So I walked into this Verizon store to give Verizon a try again, you know, to see if they would honor their warranty on their defective product. I walk in in talk to one of the reps and they can't find me in the system--because I switched to T-mobile--even though the charger obviously says VERIZON on it. So I asked plainly, can you help me or not? They said NO!! Whatever happened to customer service? Or the customer is always right? They could have asked their manager to see what they could do for me, nope. These kids think they're experts on corporate policy. Flat out NO! There is a reason why I switched out of Verizon. We switched back to Verizon after only a month of switching carriers. We had zero wait time at this store and everyone was extra nice, helpful and knowledgeable. If you can try to avoid the after work rush they did start getting busier after we arrived, but still attentive to all the customers coming in. Three days after going in to this store we even received a follow up phone call to make sure we were satisfied and if we had any questions/ concerns. Talk about customer service!!! Came to the store to purchase an internet hotspot for my house in the mountains that doesn't have regular wired internet. They sold me a box and some bandwidth and I was on my way. They deal with me with value for my time and were courteous and helpful. I used the box for a weekend and realized that the carrier just didn't have enough towers in my area to make the service reliable. I took the box back to the store and they gave me a full refund. They also nullified the contract that I signed. Great customer service and I left really pleased. read more

Just went here last night...have had AT&T for 11 years they were great for years! However have made it difficult to upgrade phones and are more expensive than Verizon on plans. We were greeted by a very sweet girl and helped by Emmanuel, he was very professional and gave us great customer service! I purchased Verizon wireless internet in May. I have had so much trouble with dropped service and very slow response. I used to have ATT and as soon as my 2 year contract (contrap) is over I'm switching back. The Verizon representive told me the Verizon service was sooo much faster but it is not. I'm supposed to have 4G but I only have 2 bars not the 4I should have. I have called countless times for help and they are so sorry but they can not help me and then they tell me I'm in a contract and there is nothing they can do. My advice is do not! I have had every phone service provider possible and verizon is not my favorite, but there customer service is number one. I always go in and ask for Manny. He is fantastic, and the only reason I stay with Verizon. He has helped me through phone upgrades, tablets, accessories and Internet options. I just want to add my name to those who found the service at this store to be quite satisfactory. I received very good service as I tried to find a phone for my elderly mother who recently moved into a retirement home. I had to return phones a couple times during this process and always was given courteous and helpful assistance by the staff. The last person I dealt with, Manual, who is the manager, was particularly solicitous and even waived a charge. I have been a long-time Verizon customer and just moved to Modesto. Saleswoman greeted me with a yawn and said she had worked all day and was sleepy. Left me waiting up to 10 minutes three times while she went into the back for reasons she never explained. Took my order, including a case that she said was available in my preferred color. Said the iPhone and case would be delivered in 2 working days. The phone came in 7 days without the case. I have been a longtime customer and have always received good customer service from Verizon and today was no exception. I recently upgraded online to the iPhone 7 and not even an hour out of the box, it completely stopped working. I was incredibly frustrated, to say the least. When I walked in this store, I was immediately greeted and then someone was able to help me within five minutes. Deandre really made the process very easy and painless. He replaced the phone right there, made sure everything worked and sent me home a very appreciative customer. He did not let me leave the store until he made sure everything was connected, tested and back to normal. He explained the monthly services and gave me advice on how to get a discount. This was by far the worst service I've ever seen at a Verizon store. Upon walking in the staff was behaving inappropriately and laughing joking around for awhile before anyone even acknowledged us. The person helping us didn't seem to have any idea what she was doing and her nails were so long she couldn't even type. When trying to start the transaction she was so busy having personal conversations with the entire staff she isn't paying any attention at all to the transaction at hand. Great service. Had to go and exchange a car mount that I had bought from the Stockton store. The Stockton store had given me the wrong car mount (wrong model) and did not have the one for my phone. They suggested I go to the Modesto store and exchange it. When I got to the store, I was greeted by a lady who was very helpful and professional. I explained to her my situation and also, that I could not find the receipt. She informed me she could look it up in the system and that would not be a problem. She brought me to the service desk and was then helped by another lady. The process was nice and easy. All in all, I was out of there within 10 minutes. While this store is very busy, and the customer non-service people all have tablets to facilitate working with the customers, the service is horrible. It started out OK. Someone met with me a few minutes after I entered the store, took my name, and asked what I needed. When I told him I needed to switch service between two phone I had, and that I wasn't on the account as a manager, he stated there was no problem and all I would have to do was wait a bit and when someone was free to help me, we could call my husband and be placed on the account as a manger. Thirty minutes later, he finally returned and told me to call my husband and he could dial 611 and put me on the account, but it would take about 15 minutes after that before the system would recognize me, so he would be back shortly. REALLY?? He couldn't have told me that little piece of 611 information 30 minutes ago so that we would be ready to make the change? It would appear that my time is of no value, especially since I wasn't looking to purchase anything. Go to the Verizon in Riverbank - they know what customer service is!!! read more
