The two associates that were sitting having a conversation were clearly bothered that I came in. They both looked at me and I had to ask if one of them worked there. The one guy said something under his breath and the other girl just got up and moved to another table. So I walked to her table and she just pointed to the empty seat where she was sitting. I went to the other table and the man said "what" I said, "Oh hello, and good evening I'd like to return my Fios equipment" I clearly had the equipment in my hand in an open shopping bag of which I had held out in front of him where he could clearly see. He then looked at me and asked if I had the equipment. Now I was unaware that I didn't have to return all of the equipment just the big white box. He took the white box out of the bag and said "oh no I don't need any of that" he then typed some numbers into a computer. a piece of paper came out of a printer, and without even an upward glance, he handed me the paper and said have a good night. Now I wasn't expecting a red carpet or even a hug however, I was expecting some sort of, if not friendly, at least kind customer service. The time was around 7pm . I asked if they wanted the other equipment to recycle and or if they had a trash bin available to take their equipment, which had Verizon's logo all over it. He again didn't even look at me and said "No you can take the trash out to the garbage bin down the street". I walked out and I told him that I hoped he has a better day tomorrow. read more

This was the initial location that I came to when inquiring about switching from android to iPhone. I walked in, and told the sales staff what I was looking for. The staff here did a very good job in explaining to me the pros and cons of the iPhone 8 and X. They also offered other products, but I was not looking to make other purchases at the time. I will consider them in the future, however, as I notice that iPads are helful for school. I did not have my business credit card at the time, so I didn't go through with the transaction at this location. However, I still found the store and its people to be a good option for future transactions. Unlike the franchise locations, the corporate store are actually less likely to b.s. you. I found my experience in this store to be consistent with this notion. So it's likely that I will consider this location in the near future. read more

Over the weekend, my phone decided to malfunction all of a sudden. It kept on showing me that there was moisture in my charging portal, and I tried to dry it out for 24 hours and to no avail. When I tell you that I was stressed out, because I have a couple of months to pay off the phone, I sought the team members' advice for options. Alexis, was honest, kind, and comforting as he helped me figure out my options and ultimately helped me fill out an insurance claim. Naiyah equally jumped in and was quick to assist me in purchasing a wireless charger and not one that broke my pockets. I was able to use my damaged phone because I was able to change it (even though it never fully charged), and I got my replacement the next day. I came back to the store, and my team from yesterday, quickly helped me set up my replacement and transfer my data while the store was extremely busy. Bryant assisted me today in wiping out my old phone so that I can send it back to Verizon to avoid incurring a non-return fee. In all, they each need a raise because working in Harlem is no easy feat!!! Kudos to all the team members, but especially to Alexis, Naiyah, and Bryant. read more

I walked in trying to pay fios bill and young lady was too busy on her phone and directing me to back of store to use kiosk and i was having trouble & came back to her for assistance & she told me only way to pay is there and did not even ask to further assist me and another employee directed me to a further fios store to complete payment, whats the point of being on the phone as well w verizon team! I was experiencing a technical difficulty that prevented me from paying my bill. Since the app and phone service wasn't working I went in store. Upon arrival I saw multiple workers unmasked. (A health violation) and they were all dabbling on their personal devices. I approached a servicer and politely asked for his assistance with my issue. He continued playing games on his phone before deciding to respond to me. He listed all the options that I told him I've already attempted. Showing he wasn't listening to me. I kept asking him to simply access my account and try to fix the problem. He got angry with me and began dismissing me without a solution or resources. I walked out very unhappy and embarrassed. The staff here are pretty useless... Went there to exchange my note 8 Friday and was told it was out of 14 day grace period (I received the phone on the 5th) and was told to call customer service. Spoke to customer service and found it was because store associate was searching using the wrong phone number. The phone rep called the store to try to process the order over the phone for me to pick up but they didn't update their inventory so they couldn't...the rep called three times after they said they would update inventory so the order to be placed but they never did it and just went home. Went back Saturday at customer service request and another associate try looking up account and got error message he never saw before instead of bothering to see what it was he told me to call customer service... instead of taking his advice, I went to the store on Broadway and 110th and got the phone exchanged with no difficulty. My son needed to replace his smartphone after a summer rainstorm. We chose this location because it's the closest to us, and I'm pretty glad that it is. I wouldn't say this place was busy when we went in, but we had to wait a while (No more than 15...maybe 20. We were tired, so we could've imagined that last five minutes.). They took our name and put it in a queue so we weren't worried about anyone cutting in front of us or sitting down where we couldn't be seen and being skipped. Another reason why I wasn't annoyed with the wait was because I noticed the care each staff took with their slow-as-molasses customer(s) and understood that whoever helped us would be just as attentive when it was our turn. My son knew what he wanted, which was on sale; but despite being a sought-after phone, it was luckily in stock. The product was taken out of the packaging so we could look at it. The few questions we asked were answered clearly and confidently by the person helping us, which highlighted how knowledgeable about the produce and Verizon's phone service options he was. One thing I like about this location is that their staff carry those tablets that allow them to complete most of the business transaction wherever the customer is in the store (Our past two experiences at other Verizon locations, both upstate, were pretty traditional.). I kinda don't want to mention the little extra deal my son got because I don't remember, but the guy who helped us was cool enough to throw in what he could staying above board. I'm not into gadgetry, I love to flip, and I relish disconnecting from the internet when I'm not at work or at home, so I don't see myself upgrading until I absolutely have to. But I'll definitely swing by this place when the time comes and if I'm still in the area. p.s. I left my shaker cup here, like behind the leg of a bench in the back of the store, and they either found it or it had been turned in. It wasn't jewelry or anything, but still. I am disgusted by the service i received. One of the phones on my line had cracked and my boyfriend went in to try to receive some help. About five minutes later he came out and told me that the lady wouldn't even get up to help him. He Also stated all the employees were sitting there sitting around just staring at the customers. All the lady told him was call 611 and pointed him to a phone in the store. So i went in next to ask questions. She did the exact same thing. There was at least 6 employees just sitting there staring. They don't greet you nor do they offer help. I'm not understanding how they think this is okay service. My husband and I purchased two new phones from Verizon under the BOGO (buy one get one) offer. We worked with a representative named Akilah, whom I believe is a supervisor. She told us we qualified for the offer under a 4G data package. We signed the contract and gleefully walked out of the store with our new phones. 2 weeks later, I check the Verizon bill online and it is astronomical. Turns out, you have to be under the unlimited data package to qualify for the BOGO offer. I have been on the phone with the verizon 1800 customer service for 3+ hours, trying to rectify the idiotic mistake Akilah made. I contacted Verizon Harlem today and spoke to Akilah, explaining the error that had been made. She offered a soft apology. I then said directly that this was indeed HER error, to which she chuckled and said "I appreciate the call". I am now trying to look into how I can file a formal complaint with verizon. Go to another Verizon store that has supervisors who actually read the fine print, lest you should end up with a bill $40+ over what you were promised in-store. read more

Six days ago I left a scathing review of how Verizon screwed me over when I purchased a new phone and didn't tell me it would be locked for two months, and I needed it unlocked for international travel! Greg and Jamie are the absolute most rudest store managers i have ever encountered at Verizon Wireless. The way they speak to customers is unbelievable. I have been a loyal customer with Verizon for over twenty years. The last straw for me was when i seen how Greg treated an elderly black woman who only wanted to pay her bill. While i was there a few customers told me they are racist to the black customers and that really pissed me off. When Johanna worked at the store everyone seemed happy and it showed through their customer service. Jaime is very confrontational with his customers. Earlier this year he was very rude to my coworker who also happens to be a black woman. He noticed i was watching him and tried to change his delivery but he still was very unprofessional. Everyone should be treated equally. The climate that we are in, i do not understand how they could feel comfortable handing business this way. I will be shopping around for other carriers. I used to be proud to say I'm a Verizon Wireless customer. In the mean time i will travel to another store in hopes of better customer service. read more

Avoid this location at all costs! I used to opt to either cross the river to the Edgewater, NJ location or head up North to Cross County in Yonkers rather than go here. Most people know to avoid the 125th Street location. They have never been helpful and is basically staffed by either clueless or indifferent employees. They used to refer everyone to the 86th Street location, but I think 86th Street became so overwhelmed by Harlem's incompetence they probably lost some of their customer service clout. I also notice that the Cross County location has slipped as well. Very unsatisfactory experience as did other customers. I am a long time Verizon Wireless customer and despite the higher prices stayed with them because of good customer service. I hope they can improve their service before my contract expires. The WORST customer experience. They were rude the first time but I try to give people a chance because everyone has a bad day-- however it seems these people hare their jobs- or just didn't like me-- from the moment I walked in. This is the second time I have had to go to the store- the first after a phone was stolen- so I bought a new one- the sales staff is a half inch from blatantly hostile. After my stolen phone was found --I came to return an 8 -and buy a Xs. Extenuating circumstances I was one day late to exchange- and I had a conversation on record on my account with w Verizon headquarters- who told me it would be a managerial decision-- Not only did the sales staff misinform me about my exchange time-- they refused to get "Robin" the manager -- did not even make an effort to look at my account and and said he would never accommodate me- a 20 yr Verizon customer. They would not be bothered. I left the store angry and ready to leave Verizon-- I tried a different store - on 34th St- which was the polar opposite experience- helpful positive staff who took time to explain and talk me through options- were more than happy to upgrade my purchase AND told me I actually have 30 days-not 14 as per the misinformation from poorly trained 125 street agents. I can not believe this is a corporate store- I have been a customer for two decades and I have never had such terrible service- one young woman in particularly dismissive. She made it clear she did not have the time for me- that I was out of my return period without checking my account even though the store was almost empty. read more

This location USED to have good and very helpful people but then in about 2013 I noticed new people and very less helpful people. I'll tell you one example: in January 2013 I went there to change my iPhone 4 to the 4S. Since this location is the closest to my house, I came here. I told the girl I want to get the iPhone 4S and right away she said they don't have any in stock. I asked her if any other location has them in stock and she said no I can only order it online. I found it very funny that NO Verizon store had that in stock. So I just left and called customer service. The very nice lady looked it up and she found 2 locations in manhattan close by and she even CALLED to make sure so I don't waste my time going there. That was the last day i said I'd go there but I went once last year and I got no help once again but I went to the one downtown and I got the exact help I needed. I walked passed this location last week Sunday and I saw the place was closed down for good. That's the best thing they ever did. read more

On 7/7/2015 my friend and I visited this location to possibly get a replacement phone or to have it repaired. As usual the customer service was horrible. From the idiot at the front door to the idiots behind the front counter to the idiots on the floor and let's not forget the idiots in the back of the store behind that counter. On a consistent basis the employees DO NOT KNOW their company policies. Let alone proper customer service, On this particular visit we inquired about getting a replacement phone. As usual the attitude given is as if your asking for some personal sacrifice and should be grateful. Long story short this idiot we encountered first said cutting us off mid sentence with "you have to go through insurance". Okay no problem how about a quick repair if doable since the upgrade is in 2 weeks and we really don't want to spend $100 bucks for a old modle phone. Immediately this idiot says "we don't do repairs". I have been a customer of Verizon wireless since 1997. Although they keep changing and hiking up prices and added BS and over charges I know for a fact that at one point or another they did do repairs. Not according to this idiot whom stated with an indignant tone I've been working for Verizon for 15 years I should know. Really 15 years "at the door"? Anyway I reiterated how I was a customer since 97 and all of a sudden she then says we haven't repaired the screens at least for 5 years. Oh so now we go from no repairs to we haven't done screens for about 5 years. Now let's see who sounds more logical the idiot who's been at the same company for 15 years not as a doorman or upper echelon but a grinch that greets at the door or loyal customer 18 years plus that has gone through quite a few phones, policies, contracts, rewards etc. I wrote this long review/rating partially due to frustration but also to notify anyone considering visiting this location rconsider. In all my visits to this location I have had only two pleasant trips. It's a sad reality that this is not only this location. It seems to be the atmosphere throughout a lot of Verizon Wireless locations I've noticed.Verizon itself needs to do a major sweep of quite a few of their stores and the customer service rep that they employ. This location is the picture of idiotic, incompetence. I, regrettably, 'popped in' to this store to change my plan to the new and improved "Share Everything" deal... unfortunately, my next bill was asking me to 'share' an extra $150.00 in overage charges I was not made aware would occur from changing my plan mid-billing cycle. I contacted Verizon Customer Service who refunded me 30% of the overages and told me I needed to contact the store where I made the changes to my plan to correct the remaining 70%. I THOUGHT I had hit the Verizon jackpot when I went in to the store and was informed that this issue would be rectified as soon as a manager returned to the store to correct the error... five phone calls, 5 blatant lies and excuses later, I was put on the phone with the 'gentleman' who originally changed my plan, who flat out REFUSED to issue a credit for HIS mistake. I was informed his manager would not approve a credit either and was referred BACK to Verizon customer service. After 3 hours on the phone, the idiot who messed up m plan in the first place had, with the strong encouragement of customer service, corrected HIS mistake. Unless you have endless hours to waste on the phone, appreciate being lied to, and have zero self-respect; stay far, far away from this place. read more

The only complaint I have with this particular branch is that when I first signed up for service in 2010. I got an iPhone 4 with the standard plan that was going at that time ($89. mo. Unlimited Plan w/ $20. Unlimited data plan) I was also offered a Hotspot device for free. I took it. I'm computer savvy and this was difficult to set up, which I did not succeed and froze my MacBook Pro in the process. I decide not to mess with this Hotspot device so I brought it back to this store and they informed me there will be a $35 "storage" fee. This was the only time I dealt with the store. As far as Verizon Wireless as a whole, I rate it a 1. I am an on time paying, low maintenance customer. $125. A month phone bill for 2 years was way too much for service that was HORRIBLE. Static and dropped connection especially while trying to use my phone in my apartment. The internet connection was flawless. I switched to Sprint. read more

If I could give zero stars i absolutely would. I walked in to process a trade that I started online, I asked for the shipment box but never received it so I went into the store to complete the trade in. The rep asked how he can help; I explained the predicament I was in. He got through the trade in process then realized the phone needed to be charged. I apologized and said we just need to plug it in. I was then told it's my responsibility to have it charged before I come into the store. I was in the same exact store a few hours earlier and used a charging pad connected to a micro-usb cable(which is the cord needed to charge the phone I was trying to trade in). I asked the rep if there was a cord we could use he once again told me no and it was my responsibility. I asked him to find a cord in the phone store we could use; he moved not even an inch to attempt to find a cord. I waited 10 minutes before calling customer care and not until I got off the phone with customer care, did that MANAGER Esaie find a cord to charge the phone. Never in my life have I seen a blantant disregard for customer care with such laziness. I then asked for the store number and the MANAGER Esaie told me there was no store number that he could give me; it's only an internal store number.Terrible service and terrible character, especially as a "manager."See Gionni the rep, he'll take care of you. read more

I went there to change plans. The inside of the store looked like it was "closed for a private event." People were huddled around tables talking and having fun. They were having a good time! I noticed a man with the word "Security" on his shirt. I asked if the store was open. He said "Yeah.. You need to get your name on the list..." and pointed to a woman talking, actually yelling at one of the tables. I walked up to her. She looked at me, turned and and continued yelling. Another woman at the table turned to her and gestured her to keep her voice down. She must be a supervisor of some kind, I thought. Then she turned to me and said that someone would be with me shortly. I said "I certainly hope so..." She smiled demurely. I waited. And waited. After a total of 15 minutes or so, I left. They do not want you to go there, anyway. So, everybody is happy. They helped me to finally decide to dump Verizon. I am switching to Google's phone service. They won't be bothered. This is the bulleted outline I sent as a complaint to the Better Business Bureau. -On 5/2/13 had my iPhone stolen out of a stroller while I was working. -Went to Verizon on 125th and Adam Clayton Powell on 5/3/13 to get a replacement phone. -I have gone to this store many times before, and every time I leave because they are pushy and do not listen to me. Today was no exception. -Jaquline "assisted" me. -I explained the situation of my stolen phone and told her I and no insurance on the phone. -She told me repeatedly that I should have had insurance. (As though I could change that after the fact) -My phone line was upgraded a year ago, so it was not ready for a new phone unless I paid full retail price. My mothers line was available for an upgrade, so I wanted to take my mothers upgrade while extending the contract of her Phone, something Verizon has done for years. They said it was new Verizon company policy that they no longer did this in retail stores. Jaquline went into a full story about the company losing money because people on the same plan were stealing the upgrades from each other. -They said I could do the upgrade from my mothers line on my phone over the telephone with Verizon customer service, but that would then take 5 days for shipping. -I asked if all Verizon stores had adopted this new policy, and they told me yes. -I asked them if they could tell me what Verizon stores had the phone I wanted in stock, and they told me no. -I left this store in tears I was so frustrated. -I went to another Verizon store at 581 Broadway in Soho. Tujuana helped. -She immediately looked up the upgrade situation with my Verizon account, and took care of it. She was incredibly nice, helpful, and did not attempt to make anything my fault. -I told her about my experience at the first Verizon store, and she told me they were lying to me because they couldn't make commission off doing the upgrade and there definitely was no new I store policy regarding taking the upgrade from another phone on your plan. -Tujuana told me they were a third party Verizon retailer, and to report them to the BBB as they were using lies and deceit instead of doing what is right for the customer. Update 5/7/13: I just received a phone call from a Verizon representative who apologized profusely for my experience, said my experience is not how Verizon strives to do business, and after listening to me tell my story again, the representative gave me a $30 credit on my bill and said the Harlem store will be addressed. She also said she would pass on my positive feedback about the Soho store. I don't know if the way the Harlem store conducts its business will change, but I feel better that I have been addressed from the corporate level. read more
