AVOID AT ALL COSTS if you're looking for honest information and pricing. While the customer service was friendly, associates dole out misinformation in order to upcharge customers. I came in to activate a new iPhone purchased from Apple, and was charged the $40 activation fee, which was to be expected, along with $30 "for a new SIM card." I asked about this last point repeatedly, pointing out most people are able to activate from home, and got vague answers about my phone not having one and "apple shipping without SIM cards." This is patently false. Apple ships verizon phones with pre-installed verizon SIM cards, and my phone was absolutely a pre-designated verizon phone (to this point, my significant other's phone, ordered at the same time, was later activated from home without the need for a new SIM card). Upon reviewing my receipt, I now see that I've instead been simply charged a full $70 activation fee, despite the associates rundown of the costs (which were based on false information). read more

This is one of those reviews that is based on a one-time, limited experience -- but it was such a standout experience (in contrast to the really abysmal treatment some prior reviewers had at the hands of another employee) that I feel compelled to write. I partially broke and had to replace / upgrade my decrepit old iPhone. Min was astonishingly courteous, capable, professional and helpful -- not just to us, but to the many customers who came in while we were in the store. At least five other customers came in while we were there. All were greeted promptly and helped without making either them or us feel neglected. He really knew, and seemed to really care about, his products and was very patient about explaining them. He was great at follow-up communication. You really don't see this kind of customer service in NYC, ever. I'm a Luddite, my better half is not. Min was able to speak to both of us in a language we could understand. He helped us pick a plan, figure out how to recover data from my verklempt iPhone (no easy task considering it hadn't been backed up in eons), and found a way to save us a good amount of money through a newly-introduced buy-back program. I hope Verizon recognizes this gem of an employee. If I were a competitor, I'd try to steal this guy away in a heartbeat. But by rights, Min really ought to be running his own successful business empire. He is that awesome. read more

Sketchy af. I came here after my phone died, not realizing that this wasn't a real Verizon store. They had a very limited selection of phones, but I need to replace my dead phone quickly. The person who helped me gave me the option of pre-paying part of the cost of the phone, which I agreed to do. I asked for a receipt and was assured one would be emailed to me. I never got a receipt, and my next bill with Verizon was all screwed up, so I had to spend time with a customer support rep cleaning it up. In the process we discovered that there was no record of any pre-payment for my new phone in my account. In fact, we found a document uploaded to my account that I was not shown in the store stating that I'd prepaid $0. I'd signed another agreement in the store, and it looked like my signature from that agreement had been mapped to this document as well (it was like a fuzzy screenshot of the actual signature from the other document). Without the receipt I'd requested from the store clerk, I didn't know how much of what I'd paid should have gone towards pre-payment vs. set up costs and taxes for the phone. The real Verizon rep was super helpful in walking me through what that would have looked like had I gone to an actual Verizon store. Unfortunately, when I tried to call WirelessOne to resolve the issue, no one ever picked up the phone. I was ultimately able to dispute the charge through my bank and get my money back, but it was a huge pain that took months to resolve. Steer clear of this place. Most locations around the city have terrible reviews, so I don't understand why Verizon continues to license them. read more

Wow....how about this for service. When my cell phone was paid off, I received a pleasant call from Aarti. She just let me know that I was eligible for a new phone contract. A few week later I stopped by and replaced my Pixel 1 with a Pixel 3....received excellent service and pricing. I was pinched for time, so Aarti did all she could to make the process as quick and pleasant as possible. Really good experience. Also consistent with what I have experienced in the past at this store...regardless of who was there....over the past 4 years....nice, friendly, patient folk. read more

"Hi, how can I help you?" "I was wondering if I could exchange this new phone for a different color at this location." "No. This is a specialty store. You would be able to do that at one of our corporate locations. The closest one is on [insert location here]. That's how a professional interaction with a Verizon customer should have gone. Instead the man working there was abrupt, short tempered, unnecessarily rude and spoke to me like he couldn't be bothered. The other workers looked uncomfortable witnessing the interaction. Very embarrassing. I was in the store less than 60 seconds. He has no people kills whatsoever and shouldn't work with the public if he can't be bothered answering simple questions from customers. On a brighter note I stopped in at the 2657 Broadway Verizon store and was immediately greeted, question answered and the man I spoke to even asked what more he could do to assist. That 20 second convo literally gave me all the insight and more I had on exchanging my new phone for a different color. read more

Grossly overcharged on an almost out of date phone, oversold items and misled about service I didn't actually need or want, flat out lied about the allowed return period, deceptive business practices all around. Giant scam. Do not trust these people. They'd best make things right. read more

I walked in to buy a new phone and to potentially transfer to Verizon. I'm being charged a monthly bill that was $20 higher than what I was promised, and in addition, there were a lot of various fees in the beginning of my subscription that I was not informed about. I did not receive an invoice or receipt or contract for my transfer (I was promised this was going to be emailed to me: that email came very late since they messed up my email address). I feel stupid and fooled and totally regret this transaction. read more

I went to this store to upgrade my phone and was told my new phone had a mandatory 250 dollar set up fee. We went back and forth where he swore there was nothing he could do about this fee and it is standard. When I said I was going to call Verizon to check this, he instantly said, "oh I can waive that fee for you, it will be 80 dollars now in sales tax." Luckily, I caught him in his lie early enough and didn't spend a dime there. I recommend not even wasting your time in this store read more

This is a really good store. Though small, it gave me patient, personalized, friendly service when I came in to switch my phone and my family's to Verizon from AT&T. I got just what I needed and wasn't pushed to buy anything I didn't. The place can fill up during busy times so probably good to get there early. read more

Similar to the other reviews on this page.. I needed a new phone, so I stopped at this location a few weeks ago. The sales rep, Isaac, told me that if I bought the phone along with a "Jetpack" (WiFi hotspot) it would "be cheaper". I told him that I didn't need a Wifi hotspot, and that I wasn't interested. He insisted, and told me that if I didn't purchase the hotspot I would have to pay more for the device I wanted. I asked if there were any additional charges associated with this (fees, etc) and Isaac told me that there weren't. So I agreed and accepted the device so I didn't have to pay more. This month, I received my first bill from Verizon, and there was ~$120 in charges- line activation, adding a line, miscellaneous charges associated with the Jetpack. Many of these charges are set to recur for the next two years- so all in, this device will cost me over $1k over the next 2 years of the contract. In addition, there is no way to cancel this line without paying a $175 cancellation fee. I understand sales and that people work in commission based roles, but I was lied to, and this is shameful. Please fix this so it doesn't happen to other customers. There are ways to incentivize your reps sales without harming the consumer. read more

Isaac was great! This was the third Verizon store I tried before going ahead with upgrading my new phone. He made me feel comfortable, was helpful and efficient. He was clear and upfront and helped me choose the right phone. He also helped me set up my phone (I'm not so tech savvy), he installed the tempered glass and put the case on it! He let me try the cases too, so I could see what they looked like. That's a big thing for me. Because I got a new phone, I received a discount on both the case and the glass screen protector! It didn't take long at all; which was great because I was there with my toddler. Overall, a really good experience! read more

I went in for the sole purpose of upgrading my iPhone. Jai immediately tells me they have a promotion and I can get a free mobile hot spot. I specifically asked if there was any monthly charge and was told "no". Jai LIED to my face!!!!!!!! He was way more concerned with selling me this "free hot spot" than upgrading my phone, and I finally had to ask again to please show me the phones again. When we are finishing the final paperwork, all of the sudden there is an activation fee and monthly charge associated with the hot spot. I had no intention of paying for something I did not want so I told him I do not want the hotspot, I came in for a phone, and I only want a phone. When my next verizon bill rolls around there is $50 activation fee and a $175 "early termination fee" for the hotspot I never left the store with. Shady AF. This store is not a real Verizon, but an authorized retailer. I spoke to Verizon and they were horrified of this store's practices and have filed a formal complaint against them. read more

Stay away - sketchy and dishonest. Like Jon B (see review below), they handed me a "free" tablet and hotspot when I bought a new phone. I didn't want either device but walked away with them because they were "free with my phone." Later I found out I was being charged $20 a month (on a 24 month contract) with a $350 termination fee. Avoid this store unless you enjoy being lied to! read more
