Verizon Wireless has turned into a scam. Both locations I've been to in San Antonio scammed me. One signed me up for a second phone line, added features I specifically declined. This one set me up with a new phone and added discounts to make it look pretty. Two years later, Verizon "found two discounts" on my account that I shouldn't have and removed one without notice. Mind you, the representative who added those discounts works for Verizon. I didn't add those and wouldn't know whether they are valid or not, but I'm the one punished and he still made the sale. This review is long overdue. We had a horrible experience with Travis. The most rudest and confrontational person I have met! My husband and I came in to try to tell them we are switching to T-Mobile but Travis kept giving us false information about 40$ dollars we had to pay which I didn't know why. It's not about the money I'll pay whatever but the way he got so frustrated and kept changing it on us. He was rude rolled his eyes at my husband. My husband basically told him we are going back and forth just let me pay and we told him you have lied and change the information on us every time. I was helped by a gentleman named DOUG. He was knowledgeable, thoughtful, thorough, and a super nice guy. I came in because my phone wasn't picking up WiFi. I had recently left ATT for Verizon. After I updated my phone to 18.5 a few weeks after that, it wasn't allowing me to play videos or watch my social media. Walter may have been the one initially that greeted me, but I was handed off to DOUG. Doug has been there 27 years. While he walked me through all the steps, we held a conversation through the process. We swapped stories like we were best friends. I had gone to a different location when I originally got my service switched (a spot east of this location, off 1604). I had stopped by the day before, but wasn't happy with the effort of their team Member. The girl tried resetting my phone three times and just told me to go to an Apple Store. I knew I had to just try a different location and talk to someone with more experience. THIS IS THE PLACE... when you go in ask for DOUG! He is the man! He is very helpful and he's great to talk to. Terrible. Wasted almost 2 hours of my life after being told there's a 45 minute wait, to be told to make an appointment. You could have told me that before you made me wait. On top of that, they were servicing people that had checked in after us or chatting with people, answering all their questions, spending 10+ minutes while they could be servicing people on the list who signed in earlier. Do you think people want to spend their whole day in a Verizon store? Do yourself a favor and go to T Mobile, they get you in and out. Yesterday had a bad experience. My daughter and I went in to get assistance with swapping our devices only. Our line numbers had to be switched and other steps were needed to transfer our data over. Initially, the young lady that helped us seemed to be annoyed and had an attitude. She kept telling us what we needed to do and she couldn't spend much time with us --even though there was only one other customer in the store who was being attended to and two other representatives standing around. We persisted that we needed assistance to ensure the switch would go without issues. She eventually came around and was friendly and helpful. BUT, today (the day after) I happened to notice from a Verizon email that she applied a Verizon protection plan to both our lines ($17 ea) without asking nor getting our approval. To top it off, I called Verizon and they said they could remove the plan but we would be charged for a day or two. This is absolutely unacceptable!!! This store is absolute garbage. This is my second time here and both times have been terrible experiences. I needed to get my daughter an iPhone and the one they gave her didn't work. The rep (Walter) ran his mouth constantly, but doesn't know anything about the phones. The manager (Scott) told me they didn't have another one and that I had to pay an additional $50 to return it even though we never left the store with it and after I had already paid the taxes on it. Their attitude was basically "screw you". I took the phone to the Quarry location and the manager (Kemo) took care of the problem in less than 10 minutes and got my daughter a working phone. Please avoid the Stone Oak location and get this store shut down. They are an embarrassment to Verizon and customer service in general. Go to the Quarry location for Verizon. read more

Understaffed location! Even though there were not many customers, we still had to wait for TWO HOURS. We came in for a content transfer from one iPhone to a new iPhone. Carlos told us that they no longer offer content transfer services in stores for new phones. However, before we left, another customer picked up her iPhone from getting content transfer. Thanks for lying to our faces, Carlos. Really appreciate it. HOWEVER, Jennifer was great and very helpful. She said they do still offer content transfer services, but that we can do it from an app at home and it'll be much faster due to the slow WiFi in stores. Well let's see. If you have a couple hours to wait and experience poor customer service this is your store. My wife and I went in the other night and waited for about 15 min. No one greeted us and only saw one employee. After 2 other people came in the sales person asked to check them in and ignored us. So we left and came back today. Store was very busy and we checked in and had 2 other people in front of us. An hour later after a couple that arrived after us was helped the sales rep came over and said sorry for the wait and when asked how come they went in front of us we were told our name was kicked out of the sign in and we said how and she could answer. There was one tech that help a family and after they left he went to the back room and didn't see him again and that we like 15-20 min later. This location is horrible with customer service. Not sure manages this location but they need to do a deep dive into the people working there. read more

I went to this Verizon store. Even though there was a lot of bad reviews. I just needed 2 things done . 1 pay my bill and 2. Ask why my account was deleted from my phone. I was taken care of by Daniel unfortunately I didn't get his last name but his tag had marine on it . So Daniel was a real sweetheart I explained to him I transfer my number to another service, but that I still had a line with Verizon. It's my mother in law phone and being she is 90 years old I didn't want her to get a text about the bill. So he helped me and explained to me everything I needed to know about how I can go about paying that bill. Can I just say at this Verizon store , I was expecting rudeness which I was prepared for but instead all I received was kindness. First things first, all Verizon stores are completely different. They are not the same.. as in what they can offer. I learned that today. I called over the phone and asked if I was ready for an upgrade and the customer service representative said there will be a $30 fee but they will waive it for me. When I came into the store I went straight to the point and mentioned I wanted the iPhone X. He took me right to the back to show me the phone and proceeded to go over the fees. I let him know what the representative had told me and he said he could not waive that fee, even though I was told over the phone they would honor it when I mentioned it. He said to call the customer service back and just get it taken off my bill. I didn't have time to drive to the other store where they told me they could waive it for me so I just settled and decided to take it in my own hands and call later. By the way, I would have purchased my phone at the other location but unfortunately they didn't have the silver in stock when I wanted it and had to wait. (Guess that's what I get for being impatient.) The man that helped me was professional the whole time, but whoever his coworker was, he was doing the most. He was advising I buy a bundle or a glass protector and a case, even after I stated I had it. Way to go on trying to up sell but when I say I already have it leave it be. That's just wasting both of our time because if I don't need it I'm not buying it. Also, I was almost forced to purchase the insurance coverage for the phone in case something happens to it. I know I don't want it for my own reasons. His coworker was basically saying that I had to get the coverage and could cancel after the first month.. no I know how this works I can decline it so I asked,"So I can't decline it?" It was like going in circles back and forth about it. Again, if I don't want it, I don't want it. Black and white. I would suggest not to be so pushy with your customers and really listen to them at what they actually need and not push every single thing you can. Also, after being a Verizon customer for many years now, I have had my phone activated in the store every time. This time they gave me the phone in the box and said I could activate it on my own without offering to activate it in store. I left and while running an errand tried to do so and realized that I needed WiFi to do so. I connected to WiFi and still was having issues. If they could have just taken care of it from the beginning, that would have been time not wasted having to drive back to get it activated... what a nightmare. read more

This location just sent me a text message and I have never done business with them. When I called Verizon, they confirmed that someone at the store must have looked up my account and sent me the message on their own. Christian Macklin - this is illegal marketing and can result in up to a $1500 fine per incident. If you get a text from 210-727-5925 from this store save it and file a complaint. It is very discomforting to know Verizon has employees using their own personal accounts to reach out to their customers - especially at a location I have never even stepped foot inside of!! read more

I normally don't buy a lot of extra stuff on trips like this. But everything went smoothly and ended up with a bill of over 500. Been a Verizon customer for more than a decade now, but apparently that doesn't matter when trying to upgrade. But unfortunately people who have been loyal for years don't get a type of special treatment or discounts although they should, a practice many other businesses implement for their loyal customers. Besides that misfortune I experienced yesterday in the store, the employee that helped us really did not seem like he wanted to seal a deal, in-fact he seemed more adamant to get out out the door to deal with other customers to do the exact same. Maybe pay these guys on commission to seal deals? Because this employee really did not seem enthusiastic that a family wanted to buy the two newest Iphones in the market. Quite unfortunate for Verizon because now we will find a better deal with a company who cares about customer service especially with customers they have had for the lifespan of child. Another issue is the bargains, there is none, the deal on BLACK FRIDAY was trade in your phone for billing credit when you open a new line, I can literally just sell my phone for more than what they are offering and put a down payment on the new phone, this deal was a scam and there was no deal emphasized for cyber Monday. Not only are you lacking in employee motivation Verizon, but you are also lacking in marketing on two of the largest shopping days of the year! Yikes! Wouldn't recommend. read more

Please don't have untrained Verizon team members on the floor. The worst experience I had began with: #1. We wanted to see a phone color that was not on display and told us that she didn't have any open ones to show us. 2 mins later comes with one that is "open" for us to see. We liked it ,so went with it. Now we are wondering why this new product was open and IF we didn't purchase it, she was going to sell an open product? I should have refused it because someone probably dropped it and returned in and she sold us a broken product. #2. When I, as the customer asked about transferring data from one phone to another, instead of just telling me I can do it at home, she immediately says " We don't do it and if I wanted to do it in the store I would have to use their wireless and it will take 4 hours'.... JUST TELL US WE COULD DO IT AT HOME! #3. When activating the phone, the old phone decided to go on REBOOT, may be no fault to VERIZON or may be, but what annoyed me is when she looked at the NEW PHONE and said " a message popped up and said " there was a problem with the sync upload".... ummmm, what kind of pop up is that? she clearly thought she was pulling a fast one on us!! No such pop up!!! She just wanted to make sure she didn't get blamed for issues with the phone. #4. As we are trying to find the Google logging to see if anything was backed up, the Verizon employee was more interested in getting a coupon from another customer for a Bath and Body Works sale that was apparently only happening on 7 DEC!!!! She leaves helping us to go and get a coupon!!!!!! Outcome: My husband ends up fixing the phone and backs up all of the contacts from Google Drive. I will not mention a name but it was a Female Verizon Employee. Oh!! And the male Verizon employee she was asking for some kind of assistance only cared about making a sale on a watch from the lady who had Bath and Body work coupons!!! As far as Verizon stores go, this place is top notch, a LOT better than the store on Bitters Rd. I asked a lot of tough questions and Roger had an answer for everything. We had to transfer from Clear because they were bought out by God-awful Sprint. We use Verizon in our business up in Austin and now we are using it in San Antonio. Also, the tech support actually speaks English, they aren't sold off to some foreign country. read more

I normally do not complain or write a review, but this Verizon store has terrible customer service and needs corporate attention. The employees at this store are rude and need to improve their customer service skills. We have been Verizon customers for over 12 years with several lines and yesterday I was treated poorly. Unfortunately this is the second time in the past year this store has treated us bad. One year ago my mom was trying to upgrade her iPhone 5 to iPhone XR (pay full with cash) and the service was so bad we took our business to another Verizon store. I tried this store again on 12/11/19. I walked into this store to return 2 iPhone 6 since we (my wife and I) upgraded to the iPhone 11. Two employees appeared not to be doing anything but talking behind the counter. I looked at them both to hopefully get an acknowledgement from them. It was my perception that I was a bother to them both. During the entire conversation, they were not polite or helpful (especially one employee) did not have the basics of providing good customer service. This store has issues with service and is clearly noted by reviewing the Yelp ratings and feedback from other customers. this location went from hero to zero. went back to this location to get a new phone and asked the rep if i can upgrade for free. he looked at my account and said yes. great! so i'm looking around, pick a phone and then the same rep says i'm not an authorized user on the account. he said i needed to have my husband contact verizon to do the change. really? i felt like i was in grade school getting my parents to sign my permission slip. my husband goes back with me to authorize me so i can get the phone. i again pick one out and then the rep (not the same rep) says i have to pay $3 a month more and turn in my old phone. i've never had to turn in my old phone before. i walked out without a new phone, AGAIN. won't be back. read more

This is the worst Verizon store I have ever been to. It took 2-1/2 hours to buy a phone here. The phone I picked had 128GB of storage and was white in color. The salesperson (an assistant manager named Jesus) recommeded the phone with this storage capacity and retrieved one still in its case. I told him I'll take it. He tried to ring it up, but couldn't, because he said the phone was pending sale. Really! I then asked if it was available in black. He said it was, he retrieved it, and tried to ring it up. But AGAIN, he said he couldn't because it was also pending sale, and only a manager could unlock it from pending sale status. Unbelievable!! Why recommend a phone, say you have it in stock, but can't sell it? Those were the only 128GBs in stock. I asked him to check other Verizon stores to see if they had it in stock. He said he'd check, and as he was checking, he said he still had the phone in both colors, but both with 64GB of storage. He said, with Google Pixel 2 XL, the phone I've been speaking of, there is unlimited storage with Google when it comes to photos , music, and contacts. Fine, I said I'll take the one in white and purchased it. This time the sale went through. Then it took Jesus two hours(!!) to tranfer my contacts. I had already transferred all else on my old phine to my iCloud. After the two hour mark, I was tired of waiting and wanted to just return the phone for a full refund. But Jesus said he would have to charge me a $35 restalking fee. Unbelievable--I hadn't even walked out the door. I decided to wait it out. WORST. VERIZON. EXPERIENCE. EVER.
