Worst costumer service I have ever experienced. I waited over for over fifteen minutes with little acknowledgement from staff. I asked three times for help and was told the "person in the back" needed to help me. This person never showed. There were three staff in the store while I was there. One was with two women and another sitting at a table chatting on the phone and the third standing at the front not helping anyone or acknowledging costumers. This person told me they had to be at the front of the store to greet costumers. I waited fifteen minutes- no other costumers walked in and I asked for help again from the "greeter". This person did not want to give me their name because they said I would "bad-mouth" them. After a while, they told me their name was Alex. I cannot believe how poor the costumer service was, seems like Verizon does not care about customer retention. read more

My car was directly in front of a camera on there store. When i got back to my car I saw that I was a victim of a hit and run. When I asked if they could see who hit my car they did nothing. I am now responsible for the insurance payment while the criminal is out free. Basically they helped the criminal for then the victim. Good job verizon helping criminals! read more

I had nothing but excellent service when I went to get a new Iphone at this Verizon in Clairemont. I was immediately greeted and helped both times I came with questions about my phone snd the issues I was having. Peter was great getting me set up, it was super easy and he got me everything I needed. Carlo was also extremely helpful when I was having issues with my old phone. The manager, whose name I sadly wish I remembered was able to help get me a fantastic deal with my trade in. Will be coming to this Verizon from now on. read more

From bad service to NO SERVICE, overcharging, and ridiculous excuses by Customer Service, Verizon is a nightmare!!! After 12 hours of NO Service today, a Satellite Image appeared where the bars should be. "Point your phone up to the sky and hope you can link to a Satellite" is what the message on my phone read. I receive 15 texts a month counting down to when my bill is due, but NOT ONE text telling me what the problem was. I had a bad experience at the Verizon in the Balboa Mesa shopping center. I went there to purchase a screen protector for my iphone. I asked to use their restroom (I am a disabled senior citizen hobbling with a walker). The woman said they didn't have a customer restroom and told me to go to the restaurant next door. I asked for the reason for their store policy and if they could make an exception if they followed me there, but they refused to give me a reason or make an exception. I went next door to use the restroom and my caregiver drove me to the Verizon on Villa La Jolla. That location also didn't have a customer restroom, but when I asked them the reason for that, they give me a reason that made sense. I feel that the Balboa Mesa location could have given me a reason like the Villa La Jolla location did. read more

I am upset! The gentleman who sold me an I 16 phone on 11/15/2024 did not give me informed consent on how to trade in my old phone. He told me it was worth 800.00 as a trade-in. He was misleading and not honest with me. He told me to keep my old phone, He refused to trade in at that time. He told me I would need it for passwords. (I thought that was strange ) The Clairmont Mesa store is 30 minutes from my home. He told me that I could return it to any Verizon within the next two weeks. I went to a Verizon store near my home, and the person there said I had to return my old phone to the store that sold me my new phone! I had made four attempts to call and left messages, but I haven't received a response from the store! I was also told by the Poway person at Verizon that there was no order to accept the old phone in my account. The gentleman who sold me the new phone did not finish the transaction! Verizon is located on Clairemont in Kearny Mesa right next to a Starbucks offering 5G phones at excellent prices. I came in to get a new phone since I recently cracked my screen and the price for a S20 Ultra screen repair was out of this world so I just ended upgrading since my phone was over 2 years old. As I walked in, I was greeted by the employees and told her I was just looking. I had my eye on the S22 and asked her if she had it in white. She checked the inventory and brought one out. I agreed on upgrading and giving her all my information to pull up my profile. She noticed I wasn't on a 5g plan and told me that if I switch my method of payment to my debit card for my phones I save $10 a month and the 5G service is $20 a month so at the end of the day I come out even. I agreed to update my payment when I got home and to get the 5G plan. Checking out was as easy as it could be, and everything was done over her tablet and I didn't use a pen or paper once but slid my finger for a signature. Custome service was great, and any question I asked, she had an answer. I usually do all my phone handling online, but this time, I didn't but had a pleasant experience. Let's face it, nobody likes going to their cell phone carrier. It usually means you have an issue with your phone or need some kind of support. This location has always been outstanding. Love that you can make an appointment online so you don't have to wait. Today I needed immediate service so I went in with no appointment and was greeted by Melody who immediately was able to assist me. I was having issues with my location and the find my app so I could see the location of my family. She was able to troubleshoot and immediately fixed in less than a minute. My entire experience in and out the door was 2 minutes flat. I appreciate her excellent customer service, positive attitude, willingness to help and troubleshooting skills. I went to pick up a iPhone 15 plus. When I got to the store I encountered Omar . He was a wonderful salesman and very knowledgeable about the phone and accessories. I had (Omar) transferred my contacts and we got a chance to chat. I have to say he is an asset to the store and the company. I watched him give great advice to several customers and everyone walked out with a smile because Omar made the selection easier because of his extensive knowledge. This site lacks the customer support and person In dealt with had audacity to tell me he was doing me a favor by attending to my needs. They do not have a rep to just do checkout. I came in to ask about new phone. The salesman ended up giving me a wifi box to try. He told me it was free for a month. The next day, there were changes to our plan that we did not approve and we got a very large bill for those changes and the box. They claim someone on our plan made the changes. We have had the same plan for years and none of us made changes. Terribly unethical and we are stuck w a large bill until next month when they say they are crediting us. It's a shame salespeople resort to this to make a commission then blame the customer. I returned the wifi box and hope we will be credited for it and the unauthorized upgrade. read more

These guys are always so helpful. I went in to look at different plan options and to inquire about adding a hotspot. The whole thing took a total of maybe 10 minutes. I can't recall the guy's name that helped me but he answered all of my questions, typed into his little Verizon iPad, and boom- I was set. This store practically robbed us of $90 and an ENTIRE DAY. LIES the employee's at this store told me: -Our jet pack device works better than your cellphones hot spot -You will not be charged additional fees for activating your Jet Pack, it was cost you no extra to purchase the device as a pre paid item -Contact the Loyalty department, they can help make the situation right -I'm sorry you didn't enjoy the jet pack it's one of our most popular items (has only 2.5 stars online) -there is absolutely nothing we can do to help you in store -if you request an exchange the restocking fee will be waived We asked for a device to provide a service. They sold us a $250 device to provide this service. To add to our ALREADY existing line that wasn't being used this should've been a free line to use. (WITHOUT telling us they charged us an additional $40 without telling us for NO reason). They said it's the best device for this hotspot service. The "Jet Pack" we took it home. Try'd using it and the device wouldn't even allow us to open an app. We brought it back because the item was useless. They then charged us an additional $50 restocking fee. When we asked if there was anything they could do, the employee waisted a great deal of our time before indirectly insinuating that we are stupid and then stating that the entire time there was nothing she could do and the entire interaction was pointless. read more

Ripped off in a bait and switch by Kenny at this store. Was told there was a "special" offer on new phones for wife and me. No charge for phones and changing from an old pay plan to new one meant no increase to monthly bill. Kenny repeated in the affirmative when I made him confirm that several times. When we received our bill one month later we saw that the bill increased by over $40! 3 yr contract means aprox $500 extra p/yr with us on a fixed income - a $1500 rip off. Kenny and manager refused to help or make good claiming they told us about the additional charges. Said they'd take the phones back...sure! After we've had them for a month, gone thru all the setup, email etc and purchased accessories. Not an option. Be careful when you do biz w/these people. Get it in writing! read more

Worst customer service EVER!!! so a string of issues with my new experience getting my new service. it started out fine until i received my ultra2 watch with the wrong band. but thats not the thing. so the problem is this. customer service says that i could go to a soecific store that the correct watch with correct band. ok i did that and ended up at the Clairemont Mesa location and they had it. but then they told me that i have to pay a restocking fee of $50 even though it was verizons error! but thats not the worst part! so the young man that was assisting me (african american) since I didnt get his name. im african american too. he starts raising his voice at me. not really sure why even now. like it was a switch triggered. kept saying its not our fault etc. meaning since I didn't get it there. I had to say to him just lower your voice please. He continued so called him argumentative! the manager was standing there and said to him let me handle this. she was nice and stated the facts as they existed which is all that can be done. told her i would think about it and left that visit left me shaken!! No matter what, how can a customer leave your business inconvenienced by a mistake by Verizon and be charged for that said mistake with a fee and get yelled at all in the same interaction! 0 Stars -Poor excuse for service. Came in at 4:50 on Sunday to pay my bill with cash. I was told t hey were no longer taking customers since they close at 5:00. I told them I just want to pay my bill so I was directed to. Kiosk machine which does not give change. I paid my forty dollar bill but a .30 cent tax left me 30 cents short and all I had was another $20 bill. But no one could break the bill for me and I either had to pay 20 bucks to cover the 30 cents with no change. I wound up with no phone service until I spent another trip to the store to pay $1:00 to cover the 30 cents I needed to restore service. I went into this store because the phone I had was failing. It was going black on the screen. The employees treated me like I was lying about the phone because I needed a replacement phone. They kept asking me lots of questions even though I paid this phone off and I pay for insurance and they sent me a shitty refurbished rebuilt phone that I've had nothing but trouble with. I will leave Verizon forever even though my husband has been a true and true customer for almost to decades. Unbelievable horrible service.
