I went into this store because the phone I had was failing. It was going black on the screen. The employees treated me like I was lying about the phone because I needed a replacement phone. They kept asking me lots of questions even though I paid this phone off and I pay for insurance and they sent me a shitty refurbished rebuilt phone that I've had nothing but trouble with. RUDE!!!! straight up RUDE! I dealt with Verizon Warranty for 5 years now, so I know how the process works. I LOVE Verizon customer service because they make it SO convenient for you, but this store refused to order my replacement phone for me although I've had other stores order my replacement phone for me in the past. Something about a corporate policy change that restricted Verizon stores from ordering replacement phones for them. They said I can borrow their phone if I want to call the 866 number and request a new phone but once I tried to, some other customer representative tells me I can't, and I have to go home and call them myself. OK, so I go home and I give Verizon a call to ask for my replacement phone, but the person I talk to on the phone tells me that next time I have a problem, after I get my phone checked out, I can have the store representative order the replacement phone for me so I don't have to go through the trouble of calling them...... I probably never have to go back ever again, so whatever, but OTHER Verizon stores I've been to are SUPER friendly and seem to actually care, so just do yourself a favor by avoiding a bad day dealing with unhelpful/uninformed people and GO TO ANOTHER VERIZON STORE! read more

I had to let this older woman go in front of us in the "line" because the store isn't open to customers. They won't let her in to buy a phone charger because it's apple release day and you have to wait 30 min to enter an empty store. The employees are so far from useful and are being incredibly rude. What a HUGE disappointment! Made an appointment on-line to transfer information from my current Iphone 7 to the new Iphone 12. When I made the appointment on-line, I put in the comments section the purpose of my visit. After driving from Ramona to the Clairmont Mesa location, (there were no available appointments in Santee or Poway for today) I was told they could not transfer the data for me. I was told, "it takes too long." and "only one person is allowed in the store at a time." The Verizon employee basically gave me a piece of paper stating how to transfer the information and could care less about my business. What does only one person allowed in the store have to do with anything? Am I not the one person? I have an appointment. Also, if you knew you would not be able to help me, why would you not phone me ahead of time? After all, you are a phone company. I had stated when booking my appointment the purpose of my visit. The kicker is....it took me all of about a minute to set up my new phone with the instructions the guy gave me. So basically it took longer for this guy to tell me what he could not do for me vs. the time it could have taken him to help me. If your looking to buy a new phone for holidays, think twice about taking your business to THIS store. Customer service is NOT their priority. We've been coming to this Verizon location for years and have always had great customer service. They have a newer, bigger store now in the same shopping center. Love it! I don't feel so claustrophobic now! They've always been helpful with any questions we have. Today, we went to upgrade our phones, add a phone for Son #1 and make changes to our account. As it would happen, the person who helped us today was Lizette, the girl mentioned in the two previous reviews. I found her to be very nice, friendly, fun, professional and patient. She spent a lot of time with us as we picked out our phones, making the changes we needed and answering questions and helping with accessories. She even thanked us for being patient since it took a while. Everyone I've ever dealt with here has been very nice, professional and helpful. read more

I have had various levels of satisfaction and dissatisfaction at this location. But I write this review more to express my opinion of Verizon's Unlimited Data Plan. Their unlimited data plan SUCKS. Under this plan, if I were to purchase an extra gig after they throttle my speed I would end up paying more than if I had kept my old plan. Under this "unlimited" plan, for me, one to two and a half weeks before the end of every billing period my data speed slows down. I am not a gamer and my video viewing is no more than moderate usage. I needed a new phone so I went to the Verizon store early on a weekday in order to avoid crowds. That was a good plan because the store was very quiet. Melody helped me and did a great job. The store is set up to be as safe as possible. Plexiglass, touch free, etc. The supply of iPhone 12's was a little limited but they had the one I needed and I was in and out of the place in about 20 minutes. They do not set up your new phone and help to transfer data, etc. but when I got home it only took a few minutes to do. Pretty painless. read more

Worst experience with any phone carrier corporate store, with any company I've been with a few... I had to come multiple times to try to just simply port my number from an old carrier and start a new service with Verizon. Keeping my old phone so should be very simple but like I said, I had to come here multiple times five to be exact. The last person I got was DaeSean, forgive me if I misspelled it, I left the store without finishing the task at hand he wrote down on multiple sticky notes things that I could do to finish it up on my own when I called t-mobile Deyshawn had not given me the proper information to successfully do it on my own mind you I was in my car this whole time trying to accomplish this and when I went back about 30 minutes later they closed early so now I'm just in the same position... everyone should take their business to another location. After dealing with busy phone lines, incompetent customer service representatives, and faulty online inventory, this Verizon store was a breath of fresh air. My family and I were in search of a specific model, color, and storage for a phone. A separate store was very confused when we asked for this information over the phone, so we searched elsewhere. Matt, who spoke to us on the phone made us feel confident that they did in fact have the phone in store and that it would be worth the drive. We worked with Jon who is delightful. He is charming, affable, and ready to help. He had the answer to every question I had. Jon actively listened and engaged with us, making the whole process feel far less like a transaction and more like just a guy helping someone out. Of course, Jon did go through the necessary up-selling he is required to do, but when he saw we were not interested, he dropped it immediately. In a world overwhelmed with pushy salespeople, this was an unexpected pleasure. Jon is capable, efficient, and kind. Very very happy with our time at this Verizon Store! read more

I had the WORST experience here a few weeks ago. I drive for Lyft and I have a 4 year old phone. It finally broke down while I was trying to get some rides in the area because I really needed to make some money that weekend and I was having a really rough night. I brought my phone to this store at 6:30pm in hopes they would be able to help me fix it. They installed a new sim card, I restarted my phone, uninstalled and reinstalled apps... nothing was working. My options were to wait 3 days for a refurbished replacement phone to come in the mail, or buy a new phone right then and there. I was not prepared for this but my phone was broken and I couldn't wait 3 days, so I got the new Note 9. The $1000 phone (yikes!) would be divided between my monthly payments for the next 2 years. Great. The girl who was helping me (I think her name was Bianca or something) told me my old phone still had a $110 value if I sold it back to them and that could be applied to my bill. I agreed. While I was signing all of the paperwork, she told me they are closed now (it was 7pm) and that I will need to set it up myself. I told her I wasn't sure it I could do that. She said I just needed to connect to WiFi and it will walk me through the prompts to set it up and that I could just pull my car up close to the store and connect to their WiFi without a password. She said if I had any problems I could come back tomorrow. I was in the middle of telling her I don't live in the area when she grabbed my bag, walked to the door, and held it open for me, telling me to have a nice night as she ushered me out of the store with so many unanswered questions. She immediately locked the door and walked away. Shocked by her extreme rudeness and lack of customer service, but just wanting this night to be over, I hopped in my car, pulled it up to the store like she said, and searched for their WiFi. There was no Verizon WiFi connection without a password and I was far from home. I tried to set it up without a connection and after an hour it just got stuck. I somehow magically got my old phone (oh, right! I still had my old phone! She never "bought it back" from me because she was too busy kicking me out so she could go home on time) to find the next closest Verizon that was open until 9pm. I drove over to the one in Parkway Plaza and THEY stayed until 9:30 making sure I was set up properly, knew how to use it, brought my contacts and photos over, etc. They told me since they weren't the ones who sold me the phone, they couldn't buy back my old one and put it towards my bill, it would be for store credit... but I already bought everything I needed (including a new $40 case that just randomly got included in my purchase without me asking for it). They suggested I go back to the Clairemont store the next day to talk to them about it. So I went out of my way to drive from Vista to Clairemont on a Sunday to go sell back my old phone and complain. I walked in and told the person who walked up to me that I needed to speak to the manager. He said he was the manager so I told him my problem and he told me to have a seat and he will be with me ASAP to fix my issue. I sat there for 15 minutes watching him just wander around the store and look at things/randomly ask other browsing customers if they needed help, then getting in to conversations with them. I came in with a complaint after having a bad experience in his store the night before and he was actively ignoring me. I was also in a rush at this point. He FINALLY walks back over and fixes my problem in 3 minutes flat. There was absolutely no reason that I had to wait, but he made me wait anyways. It took me forever to get around to writing this review because I was still too pissed off to type things out without swearing. I am still fighting it, but everyone needs to know what a nightmare it was dealing with this place. I really hope the girl who "helped" me that night and the manager get some kind of repercussions, but it's probably too late at this point. Stop by Verizon Store in Claremont, signed in and grab a headset I wanted. When it came to checking out I had to wait for my turn. Waiting 15 min until the greeter told me to use the self check out. The kiosk did not work. I ended up leaving without my product and decided to never return to a Verizon store again. Where is the customer service? Besides, I checked on ebay for headset with mic for only $6 buck. Saved myself $25.00 and received better communication on my purchase! One star, because the greeter was cute! read more

A breath of fresh air. Yesterday I wrote a negative review of a different storefront (I really wish I'd gotten the name of the dismissive employee) but today I went to this Verizon, right off 805 by a Starbucks. Jonathan was the total opposite of Mr. Nasty. He answered my questions clearly and didn't grab the phone out of my hand which allowed me to learn how to change a few settings that confused me. He offered to wait while I redid my password on MyVerizon and even discussed a few options that I hadn't thought of, and which took a few more minutes. At no time at all did I feel he was trying to get away to make a sale. I asked about internet service and rather than being told to "move on" as I was by Mr. Nasty, Jonathan agreed that there had been Fios and explained Verizon was working towards 5G and that's why there's no home internet service offered right now in San Diego. Thank you. I understand. (Mr. Nasty had told me there was never internet service). Jonathan, your wonderful professionalism and attitude deserve recognition, and I hope you get it from this review. Dunno. Had a great experience here. S3 with a broken screen. Mike was able to help me not only transfer over my unlimited data plan during my upgrade to a new phone, but also get me a good trade in price for my old phone. Staff went above and beyond to make sure I had a good experience. Definitely a wait here though and only 2 service stations. Do not roll in at 5pm hoping to just pop in and out. Seems like the checkout protocol at every Verizon store takes at least 20 minutes. : / read more

Came in asking to speak to a manager, because I've been unsatisfied with the service and options presented to me with the faulty devices Verizon keeps sending me. My 5C crapped out on me in October, and since then I've been sent 4 replacement phones (covered by the insurance I pay), ALL of which had operation problems straight out of the box. I wanted to talk to a manager, explaining that with their track record, sending me another 5C seemed like throwing good money (Verizon's money, I might add, as I've already paid for it in the insurance) after bad. And that I'd be willing to pay the difference in model price for a different model if it meant finally getting a working phone. The manager entertained me for a minute, then passed me off to another employee very quickly, requiring me to again produce information and ID that I'd already just given the manager. The whole point of asking for the manager was that I felt I was being unfairly forced to upgrade my phone (and consequently increase my payment plan) due to problems with the devices that I've been paying insurance on from the start. I wanted to brainstorm a solution together that was best for both of us, but a store employee doesn't have the authority to pull any strings and meet in the middle. Apparently customer satisfaction is not this manager's priority, because he just passed me off to someone else. Matt, the employee to whom I was passed, basically told me that the "pre-certified" devices I've been sent in the past to replace my faulty ones don't go through any kind of testing other than turning them on and taking a photo, and that they can't really guarantee a working refurbished device. He also added, somewhat snarkily, that he doesn't know anybody that still has my model phone (iPhone 5C). I replied that I know several people with 5Cs who still work. He didn't have any comment on that. I had explained to the manager that if I indeed needed to upgrade devices (we discussed upgrading my 5C to 5SE), that I'd rather pay the tax difference upfront than add it on monthly. They wouldn't work with me on that either. I was basically told that if I have a problem with the Apple device that I'm PAYING VERIZON INSURANCE on, to go to Apple. Waste of my time, and no help. UPDATE: I called Customer Service when I got home, and they were FAR more pleasant and helpful than these guys in the store. If anything, it made the store employees seem LESS helpful and MORE useless, if possible. The nice lady with whom I spoke on the phone informed me that, starting in 2 days, they were running a half-off promotion on the iPhone 5SEs, the very model Matt was trying to sell me. So nice of him to mention I'd save a ton of money if I waited 2 days... She additionally WAS willing to understand my desire to pay it off upfront, something neither this store's manager or employee were willing to entertain at all. She explained while the cost of the phone upgrade itself must be paid monthly, that I *can* put credit toward my account upfront, so my phone can be paid off sooner. Never before would I have guessed that an over-the-phone experience would be more helpful than an face-to-face interaction with a human. But this store managed to prove me wrong. read more

DO NOT COME TO THIS LOCATION! SHADY EMPLOYEES! I brought my girlfriend in to switch over to Verizon in February. Without my consent, they set her up as a sub account on mine. I never requested this. I was never even told it was happening. If she had done anything negative in the future, it would have affected me. When I went back to see what happened, they couldn't explain it. Pretty illegal if you ask me. After countless hours in store and on the phone with customer service, they finally separated the accounts. I was given no compensation in return for the inconvenience. Customer service told me not to leave the store until I found out the employee who did this. They couldn't even identify the employee! Meaning shady stuff like this will continue to happen here. So I haven't bought a phone in about 3 years stopped in because my bf wanted a new cell phone so I said what the hell. We wanted the same phones I needed removable storage and he needed a fast processor. We were going between the Galaxy s3 and the DNA and we ended up getting different phones which we didn't want but the processor was very important to him and the removable storage was important to me... Each phone had one or the other... So we bought the phones they wouldn't activate till the next morning they did not give or email us a receipt like they said they would... I got home and my brother informed me about the Galaxy s4 that was going to drop about 2 weeks from the day I bought the phones. Severely pissed off because this phone had everything both me and my bf needed and the store tried to stick us with phones that were about to be old technology. Now the fun part we returned them within 3 days and I told them why and everyone in the store played completely stupid about the Galaxy s4 coming out in 2-4 weeks. So we started the return and the chick that was doing the return was just a unpleasant bitch. I basically stood there laughing about how bitchy she was with my bf. They are nice when you buy stuff but rude if you have to return anything. So in turn these ppl are only care about the sale not the needs of the customer and they will try to sale you old technology. Basically I was with Verizon for 4 years and before that AT&T for 10, well I will be taking my business back to AT&T. (who will have the Galaxy s4 before Verizon maybe if the buisness had not been so shady and the customer service upon return so rude I would of waited for Verizons release date.) I went in last night to replace my teenage son's destroyed phone, expecting to be there for hours and raked over the coals for fees and penalties. This was not the case at all at the Verizon store.
