This review has nothing to do with verizon. I came here to meet golden state warriors basketball player Shaun Livingston with my coworker and her son. We came here 1.5 hours early and it was freezing cold. Security and staff there were friendly. They were not mean at all and even engaged with the crowd. It made my corworkers son feel at ease. Didn't think a ton of people would show up, but there was quite a crowd. The meet and greet was only an hour long and we were a bit disappointed because Shaun came late and that wasn't verizon's fault, but we were upset that we couldn't take pictures with him, we were only allowed to get autographs. read more

BEWARE: Aggressive, dishonest and pushy sales tactics with one particular manager. His name is Alex and sales reps under him. Apparently, their priority is commission and not customer experience or satisfaction. Fast profit and high sales numbers are more important than reputation. This guy made a deal with me to sign up a contract for a tablet for two years. He said he would credit at least one years worth of service fees ($10 a month), or set it up so that it was not under contract for 2 years. Neither went through. Called Verizon who said nothing in the system indicates this. Nelly who was the middle person between Alex and I assured me that he set it up so that I had 2 years of credit. Verizon again stated there is no evidence of this. To be successful in the retail business, you must approach each transaction as an opportunity to foster a long lasting relationship with customers in order for them to return and refer other potential clients. What Alex and team are doing is quite the opposite and are running this store into the ground with their fly by night sales tactics. Will not be returning and suggest anyone who reads this to go else where! read more

First let me start by saying I had my Verizon service since 1996. I went to this store to get a new phone that I was in desperate need for, the customer service representative on the phone referred me to this store because I needed a phone asap. Upon my arrival the representative greeted me at the door, I explained my situation and he asked for my number and what kind of phone I wanted. Well that's when the problem started, the representative on the phone quoted me a loyalty rate which he said I couldn't get. To make a long story short we went around and around he told me to get a prepaid phone and that's all he could do for me. I left unhappy with no new phone. read more

I can see why this store only has on average 2.5 stars. Customer service here is awful and the reps are there to literally rip you off. This is a given because you expect that from sales rep but they literally try to con you, worse than what I've experienced from Sprint and AT&T. This all comes down to their manager. I don't know his name but he tries to come off as a nice guy but his true color showed up when I tried to walk away from a deal and he tried showing me off in front of everybody. I will be calling Verizon and the Better Business Bureau because this was unacceptable. They also don't tell you about fees up front. I opened up a business account and was quoted; however the final bill was $300 more than what I told at the store. While I was speaking with their so called manager, I can hear a couple having a very disappointing conversation with another rep. The couple came back to the store having experienced the same billing issue. I will go to another store for services even if its in another city. Just a heads up, have in writing what you are going to be billed for and have them sign it before you walk out so that if there's any discrepancies then you will have something in writing. If they refuse to do this then walk away. This is the lesson I learned from these people. And now that I see other reviews of this "manager" being rude to other customers, it has become very obvious that he needs to be taken out of that position. This place is the perfect example of what customer service should not be. In the times that I've been here I've heard employees use profanity, visit with their friends (who do not work there) and ignoring customers, and just this past weekend I saw an employee get reprimanded on the floor, and another employee made a customer wait in the middle of a transaction so that he could answer a personal call and talk about his fantasy football draft. I am a big time customer service fan. it's obvious they are not. I have had too many bad reps tell me rude things. I took my GF here, she was ready to upgrade her phone, she noticed a phone that she liked. The Rep came over offered help, she asked about the phones, features? His reply; "That phone SUUUCKS! Get this one!" Hands here some phone that was in the $250 range. We left and went to a different store. If the phone wasnt very good he could have said; "That phone is not very good, it has defects- and for the price your better off getting these phones that have more options and durability." What really ticked me off was that my GF feelings were hurt, she was ready to buy a new toy and this guy was so rude about it. I only go there to pay my bill. DO NOT COME HERE! I dropped of my phone here in January because the store said they would return my old phone for me after i got my bill in the mail there was a charge for the phone. I called customer service and they said someone at the store made a mistake it would be returned. Here we are in March and he phone is nowhere to be found. My review here is long overdue BUT I surely didn't want the customer service go unnoticed. Since our move to Oakland, I've been wandering to find a Verizon store nearby where there was knowledgeable staff. I happen to waltz in here one day (off Davis St, in a plaza where Walmart and Sports Authority is). I was assisted by Marlyn H, a woman with a very lively personality and had the aim to please attitude. Every time I had a question or needed some assistance, Marlyn was always very helpful with my needs. One time, I had gone into the store (close to closing time) and asked for Marlyn (I overheard that she may be heading out) but instead, she came out to assist me with a sale transaction. I was not rushed with my transaction but instead she made sure that I was happy with my purchase and was very patient with all my questions. Thank you, Marlyn for all that you do. Obviously people are having wildly different experiences at this store. I have been here three times. My first experience over 3 years ago was frustrating. Since then I have had a multitude of billing problems (my mentally disabled son has been able to make frequent changes & purchases), and I have spent over 200 hours with Verizon call centers, as well as eating thousands of dollars for apps and services that we never wanted and never used. One problem with the call centers is that you can never access anyone to whom you spoke. I also "escalated" the phone call frequently, and over 25 supervisors and managers promised to investigate the issues and follow up with me. Unfortunately they rarely did so, requiring me to call in again, and start from zero. Six months ago I ignored my first experience and returned to this store. I was assisted by Diane Brenes. She patiently listened to my tale of woe, and surprisingly was able to secure the major credit I requested (the first time anyone associated from Verizon had successfully addressed my problems). Unfortunately my son has learned that knowing the last four of the SS#, he can always evade Verizon "security", delete FamilyBase, change his phone number, add data to our plan, and purchase apps and ringtones. Finally someone at a call center suggested we transfer our plan to our business which makes the SS# irrelevant. When I was told that I could do this at a store, I chose to go back to this Verizon Store. Diane was there, immediately recognized me and remembered my problem. A pleasant and restful hour later, she had transferred the account, reduced my bill by $100, and sent me away smiling. This was my best customer service experience with Verizon. I have run my own business for over 40 years. I was very impressed with the managers and employees who were present today. The attitude of the staff was friendly and helpful, and I highly recommend coming here. And if Diane ever walked into my business looking for a job, I would hire her in a heartbeat. read more

Yep I really hate this store. Long, long waits with not one chair in the whole place. They used to have a small sofa in the customer service area, but it's gone. People sit on the floor. No way I will ever sit on a floor. How rotten is that when the store cannot even make their loyal, long time and new customers comfortable? Some of the sales associates are stellar while others are just the opposite. It's the luck of the draw here. The new upgrade fee ($30) is an insult. I love this Verizon store! My family and I got all of our phones from there last fall and we were very satisfied with the service we received from Rico. He was so great at his job and very fourth coming with any info we asked about. I recently went in to ask Rico specifically about the phones we had purchased last fall, and once again he was completely helpful!! Also, the staff was very kind and helpful over the phone. I've been a happy customer with verizon for about 8 years now but this place has been the worst and has changed my view of verizon wireless. First off the situation. My 2 year contract is about to end so my family and i are eligible for a free upgrade on our phones. I have done the 2 year upgrade program already a couple times so i know the process. I wanted to get blackberry while my parents wanted to get whatever phone they can get for free from the program. The sales bitch, ahem *cough* i mean the sales lady that was helping had the worst attitude. Barely acknowledged us when we were talking to her and asking questions. You would think she would be more enthusiastic since were giving her a sale. Then when my dad is asking questions about the phones shes just giving straight answers, not really explaning the phones. After i pick my phone and my dad chooses his i decide to ask about the rebates and how much were getting for upgrading. She tells me only the blackberry gets 50 dollars and the 2 other phones for my parents don't get anything. So you're telling me that we don't get a discount and you still want us to upgrade with you guys?? You must be crazy. So after an intense line of questioning we decide to go ahead and cancell the transaction. After talking to other people, some that work for verizon, i found out that the sales bitch was just trying to make a bigger commision of the sale. The after all of this i had more problems with the contract itself because it seemed that she or someone renewed the contract. So i had to go back to the store and fight it to get it back. The tech person that helped me was actually very nice and helpful but the tech person next to her was being noisy and was trying to tell us that they can't do anything. Eventually the original tech talked to the manager and got it all fixed. Overall this location was a very very bad experience and because of this i am going to switch to at&t and try them out. I went to Verizon San Leandro Davis Street after having a horrible experience at Verizon on Lakeshore in Oakland. My android smart phone had a software glitch and at Lakeshore the folks simply told me that they all use I phones and don't know much about android phones. Yet, they sell them so this excuse seems ridiculous and insulting. At Davis Street, I found Mark Lopez, a WONDERFUL very helpful young man. He took some time and was able to fix the problem I had. Over at Lakeshore the best they could do was to send me a refurbished phone and leave it to me to figure out what to do with it. Mark Lopez is a very caring and respectful young man who does his best to solve problems and serve his customers. There was six reps standing at the front door talking to each other while me and my sister waited. We waited for 30 minutes till we walked out. Terrible customer service. I received excellent service at this location today courtesy of Rico, the representative who helped me. I came for an upgrade and within minutes I was ready to leave with a new phone. Rico even got me set up with a glass screen protector, which was awesome because the first one we used had a defect. He fitted a second one and I was off, hassle free. I wish that I could give ZERO stars... In March of this year, I upgraded my phone from a Galaxy S3 to a Nokia Windows phone; Verizon was not able to service the Galaxy because of its age and I was offered a "no-contract" plan through the company's advertising. Almost immediately after receiving the phone in the mail, I began having problems with it. I went to the store several times but there was no resolution until I got the "blue screen of death"; the phone would lock up or shut itself off in the middle of calls and apps did not run properly. I returned to the store and the manager informed me that he would have it replaced. Two days later, I received a delivery from Verizon - an empty box. I took the box to the store and explained what I had experienced, and the manager took the box from me and told me that she would submit the issue to the company and someone would call me within 24 hours to take care of it. One week later, I returned to the store because no one from Verizon had contacted me. I spent another hour in the store, as the manager remembered me, but could not find any documentation in the computer system that anyone had attempted to solve the problem. I was told that I would be contacted by the end of that day for a resolution. Again, no one called. I spent the next 6 weeks either going to the store or calling on the phone attempting to get this issue resolved. Each time I got the same response that there was nothing on record of what had happened, and a promise to contact me which never happened. Finally, in need of a working phone, I signed up with another carrier. I never heard from Verizon customer service ONCE during this ordeal. Since that time I was charged the full service price even though the phone didn't work, I was charged a monthly payment for the phone for several months past the time that I cancelled the contract, I was charged a contract termination fee on a supposed no-contract plan, and was charged FULL PRICE for both the phone that didn't work AND the phone I never received. I now have a bill for nearly $1100 that has been sent to collection and my attempts to explain and resolve this problem. I am hoping that by contacting 7 On Your Side I will get some assistance in resolving this problem and move forward. Thank you for your time. read more

I took in my Disabled adult son. Was never offered a program or plans accordingly for him tailored for disabled adults. They sold us the full Monty with zero discounts nor offered better rates or compensation. When my disabled son got his phone stolen, his expensive phone. Yes insured but Verizon did not offer him a free government phone or educate us regarding a reasonable plan for a disabled person. Just basically said too bad unless you give us 250 we can't order one. Left him in his condition with no care to advise him in anyway what we could do. In fact the manager and his 5 agents knew nothing about Verizon's free government plans for vets or disabled persons yet the internet advertises them as the leading provider for the government. I find the lack of sincere help for a disadvantaged person who comes into their store after searching for help insane. I went to a store in SF they did not care at all. I kept saying he's a disabled adult. 1 agent actually said, well we don't know about this program we are not social services. read more

Verizon Wireless has always been my favorite cellular provider. Even when at times I had AT&T and Sprint, I always came back to Verizon. 2 reasons: The Network and their customer service (in-store and by phone-which is not outsourced by another country).. Last week, I went here with faves to get her phone looked at because she had accidentally dropped it in a cup of water. She was very worried about paying out of pocket for a new phone because she didn't have any insurance on the phone that was just suckled down in some water. After a few minutes of waiting, she was assisted by one of the managers, John. He was very nice and helpful. I left the store to get some food while she waited to get her phone looked at. When I came back, I noticed she was in the back where all the VZW Techs are at and I noticed a smile on her face. She told me that Sarah (tech) and John (mgr) were able to help her out and keep her worries at a very low minimum, well actually...no worries at all. She was very happy with their customer service and appreciative for their concern and assistance. So happy that she even offered to buy them dinner but they refused and just were pleased that she was happy and that's all that mattered to them. Now that's customer service! read more

I might go to this store twice a year but my last visit left me highly irritated due to the non customer service having, personality deficient verizon rep by the name of Yen. I was having issues with my phone which was obvious it was an internal issue. As soon as i walked in and explained the issue he exhaled, rolled his eyes and grabbed my phone. This guy insists it was a bad battery and replaced it for free, good thing right?? Nope...so he put the new battery in the phone and handed it back to me and said "see i told you that's all it was" and walked off before i could say anything or actually SEE if it was fixed. So as soon as he did that i restarted my phone and the issue persisted so i had to walk toward him and said im still have this issue. Again he exhaled, rolled his eyes and grabbed my phone and walked back to the kiosk. I asked him if they are still having issues with the samsung fascinate (my phone) which is widely known if your an owner of or keep up to date with those things. He looked at me like was stupid and said "what are you talking about? There's no issues with this phone". So i laughed because i know all about the DL09 update that was supposed to fix the connection with GPS and numerous other issues with the phone. This store is a fault and a cheater. 1) The VZ JETPACK 4G MHS 890L they sold me was broken about two years ago. I went there to ask them cancel the service. They said they cancelled but until today I checked my bill. Not only they didn't cancel but also they didn't leave any record in service log. So Verizon has been charging me $10/month for this device last two years. 2) About a year ago, I upgraded two iPhones for my kids in that store. They sold me some total protection plan without telling me I'd need pay over $200 for replacement. I didn't find out until this summer when I did need replace one of my phones. The process itself was a long hassle, not to mention I needed to pay $200 for the replacement. 3) So I went to them this summer to cancel one of my Apple protection plan. They said they cancelled. But until today when I checked my bill and found out they did not cancel my protection plan. I would never go to this store again and will move all my 5 Verizon phones to other carrier soon. read more

This review is about Verizon in general. HOW SLEAZY. I am the executor for the estate of someone who recently died. It took me a couple of months to realize that there was a Verizon bill due. I contacted Verizon and they insist on charging for the two months since he died, even though the phone hasn't been used in all that time. OH, they will do me a favor and not charge the early termination fee. I guess the term "early termination" is their idea of a joke. I went on Sunday to browse to see if the new array of phones would interest me to upgrade my phone. Initial greeting was Ok but after I told them I wanted to browse they left me alone for an hour. I was ready 15 minutes into my browsing but no one bother to check. I purposely did not ask for assistance to see if any sales person would say something. I even look couple of them straight in the eye but to no avail. I like Verizon but I hate their corporate stores with no personal attention. Other times it feels like a high pressure buy assembly line. I'm guess that because I told them I wanted browse, they thought I wouldn't spend any money there!
