Today I upgraded my iphone on my Verizon business plan. This is my third visit to this particular store and I've always found the staff very helpful even when dealing with some very challenging user issues. Our phones are very personal and probably nothing in my life do I rely on so consistently minute to minute every day. Being self-employed it is even more critical. Marisela was there to help me out today, and she is fantastic. She gets to the point and is very upfront about options, costs, and preferences that would be useful to me. This small location can get very busy on my previous visits. So I went early in the am (and well before the weeks around the holidays!) and got my new phone upgraded quickly and was back in business within about an hour after the data was all transferred over. If you want to get quick results and don't need to go to a Verizon-owned store in Napa or Petaluma, I would highly recommend this place for busy people in Sonoma. read more

Do not shop here. 30 minutes after a phone upgrade our financial accounts were compromised. The clerk plugged the old phone in for a data transfer which you don't do anymore and shortly thereafter we were phished by a fake coin base scammer who had all of our personal info. This is my first ever review on Yelp. I had such wonderful service today from the young man working as compared to his coworker, a young lady who sold me my phone last week and gave me horrible service on 3 separate occasions. The young man was kind, patient, helpful and got the job done well. I watched him sell another older gentleman a phone and show him how to USE the phone! So nice. When I bought my phone from young lady, she was as unhelpful as possible, except for collecting the money and reading her sales script. She was condescending, curt, unfriendly and obnoxious. I watched her today make things as difficult as possible for older folks, while being friendly, helpful and giggly with younger men and women. I just bought a new phone at the Sonoma Verizon store. I bought my last phone there as well. Pedro and Marisela were so helpful. They helped me know what I needed. Explained things, answered my plethora of questions and did not try to sell a higher end phone or other things I did not need. They transferred everything to my new phone and made sure my new phone was connected to my watch, which I did not buy from them. They were both great. Was told a promotion and sent home only to find out I was given the wrong phone for the promotion and Verizon wasn't going to honor the half off a second phone promo it had. I went in with my new phone to get it activated. I was greeted nicely and asked where I got my phone and how much did I spend on it. Not sure why that matters. I was told I have a 700 credit to use.ummmm I already have a new phone purchased from Samsung directly. This was repeated to me several times as he started to activate my phone. He stopped and asked me if I purchased my phone in the U.S.! I tell him, Yes, I bought it from Samsung why.... He tells me, well this phone is no good and can not be activated. I explained that I called Verizon and they said I just need to put a SIM card in it. He said I can sell you one but it won't do you any good since your phone is not compatible with any good carriers. I left upset and confused... I drove to the Verizon store in Petaluma and my phone was activated in less than 5 minutes and they had plenty of accessories to choose from. Love this store, the manager Walter, is extremely knowledgeable and a self admitted computer geek. And he really does know what he's doing. He reviewed our contract and saved us money on our monthly bill. Then showed me options on phones because I did not want to spend the high price on the new iphone. Lousy customer service. Went to the store to upgrade from a prepaid basic phone to a prepaid smartphone. They did not have the particular phone I was interested in, but said they would order one and receive it in three days. A few days later, called the store and they said it was never ordered! They then advised it would be best if I ordered the phone online, and once received, bring it in to their store and they would help set it up properly. Received the phone and brought it back to this store as suggested. They then said they could not set it up, would have to bring it to a "big box" store. Figured since they sold Verizon phones, asked if they could not call customer service and help set it up? The store employee kept insisting he could not, it had to be done at a big box store. Got the phone home, called Verizon, and they were able to help port over the existing number and it works just fine. Lazy incompetent service, would never shop here again. read more

I asked the differences in the iphone 11 series - and Walter behavior was impatient, unprofessional and irritable. I was so uncomfortable with his rude attitude that I left and went straight to AT&T. Been going to the Sonoma Store for over a decade and the service just gets worse. I called ahead to ask about android types and I was told they had a lot to choose from. I walked down there and they insisted I grant access to my account. I did. I asked again what type of androids they had. He said he wouldn't tell me unless I granted access. After my third shot at granting access I wanted simply to know what phones were available and he refused to tell me. I left. That was not phone shopping, that was being bullied. I walked back to my office. I have purchased 8 top of the line smartphones at that location for my family and me. When the iPhone 6 came out I kept calling to see if they had them and everyone I spoke to was always friendly. When they finally had some in stock the process of switching over from my old phone was painless and took just a few minutes. The other employee there that day was working with a gentleman who had a damaged iPhone and one billion questions and he patiently answered all of them until the customer was satisfied. I received rude customer service from an employee who smelled of weed and looked high. I was treated as if I was annoying him by asking questions about the product. I needed to upgrade my phone and was made to feel as if my questions about the product were stupid. The other employee was very respectful and business like, but was already working with another customer. He was helping to answer questions I had when the other guy was too lazy to. The employee working with me went to the back to look for a specific phone and when he opened the back room door, the smell of weed drifted out. I recommend the manager to retrain their employees on customer service and/or drug test. I'm sure it will clear out the lazy and rude employees. read more
