1) They lost my computer charger 2) They didnt even fix the problem I brought it in for 3) Took weeks longer than estimated (to not fix anything!) 4) Horrible communication This has got to be the WORST business experience I have ever had. I dropped my laptop off with the charger for the headphone jack to be fixed and a few weeks later I was called back and told that it was fixed and ready to be picked up. I went back to the place to pick it up and the owner gave me bad news. He said that the person did not fix it at all and on top of that lost my charger! He called the person who was supposed to fix my computer and he claimed that I did not have a charger when I brought it in which was complete you know what. To redeem himself the owner didnt charge me for the time trying to fix it and let me borrow their charger as well as supposedly ordering a new one for me. Also to fix the audio problem he let me borrow a usb interface and ordered one online in which we agreed for me to buy and then trade off the stuff thats mine for the stuff thats his. In the shop, the charger had trouble charging. Turns out the charger is broken and only works for 5 seconds max on an outlet and then will not work again on the same outlet for the rest of the day. I have tried it on multiple outlets and at different houses. And to top it all the off while I still had a little bit of charge for my computer I attempted to use the supposed state of the art usb interface, (he said it costed $160, I seen the same one brand new online for an average of $60 - $70), and it didnt work!!! The owner told me he would call me in one or two weeks when he received the shipment of the charger to replace the one they lost, and the usb interface in which I was going to pay for. Well that was about 3 or 4 months ago and still waiting for him to call. Ive tried contacting them multiple times but no response! The original estimate to get my computer done was only 24 hours and it took them weeks and whenever I called they would say that they were working on it and it would be ready to be picked up the next day. Also during work hours I went to the place 2 times and nobody was there. The second time however the owner arrived there after I waited 15 minutes and was about to leave. And if you have the same luck as me, they will never answer the phone. Bottom line this is the worst business I have ever encountered in my life and I do not say that lightly. The only 2 things that I have ever written a bad review about is this place and Academy of Art University. But they got 2 stars. This place doesnt even deserve 1!!! Thank you SO much to Tony for taking care of me when I panicked over my broken computer! I came into Computer Wizards a complete wreck over thinking I had lost all of my graduate school papers. My computer kept freezing and not allowing me to access anything. Tony calmly took over, recovered my files and even asked me if I needed a glass of water while I waited. BRILLIANT! I'm in the San Jose area, and used to go to ATACOM (Fremont) for custom-built computers. However, having heard many good things through Sonoma County friends about Computer Wizard Systems, I decided to try them out. I sent an email with an overview of what I was looking for, and then stopped by a couple days later (I was in the area on business). These guys were friendly, informative, and helped me get a high-powered, multi-purposed (general, mid-weight video editing, and heavyweight gaming) machine spec'd out in very little time (all while the two guys in the shop were juggling some enterprise-level clientele); and at a price lower than I had estimated this custom-build would cost. I didn't have to give up a single thing I wanted (SSD, 32GB DDR3, desired motherboard, desired case, extra fans, large storage drive), and still had a good price. I was impressed with the custom job and the level of communication during the stages of the build (I had demanded a couple of long-lead-time parts, in my specifications). There was one minor component mix-up, but that was addressed and fixed almost instantaneously. I am a buyer and supply chain manager by trade, and I wished all my suppliers would communicate like these guys. That was November of last year. The machine is still running wonderfully, and has given me no problems (even when under multi-hour high loads). My girlfriend keeps thinking about overhauling her old machine (she loves the chassis, so she wants it gutted and components upgraded). I asked Ed (the owner) about this upgrade option, some time back, and he said to bring it by whenever. Ed was recommended to me over 5 years ago. He really is a wizard and has helped me solve computer problems many times. I called him recently about replacing the glass on my Galaxy S4 that I had shattered. His price was less than 1/2 what was quoted by other screen repair places. I brought my phone in, and the new glass was installed a few hours later. Tony was very meticulous about getting it done. Both Ed and Tony are knowledgeable and friendly. Beware! Tony is no longer working for Ed and Ed (the Computer Wizard) has become VERY unreliable. I called Ed about my computer problem and he kindly picked it up at my husband's shop, saying he would get it back in a day or two. After three days I called him but got no answer and he no longer had voicemail so I couldn't leave a message. I tried several times a day, same story. I then emailed him through his website but got no response. After about a week I went to his shop and clipped a note outside the door asking Ed to call me, still no response. I saw on Ed's Facebook page that someone else couldn't reach him and was also asking about his computer. Almost two weeks after I last saw my computer the shop's phone was disconnected. I had no computer for almost two weeks and had no communication at all from Ed. I was worried! Would I ever see my computer again? I had thousands of hours of work in there, tax returns, irreplaceable photos. I stopped by the shop again last Sunday to see if my note was still outside. I was in luck!!! Ed was pulling into the parking lot just ahead of me! He went into the shop and I blocked his car with mine so he couldn't leave. I went in and told Ed I wanted my computer. There were about five laptops on the counter and he pointed to one, saying "Here it is, take it." I told him I didn't HAVE a laptop and reminded him he had picked up my computer at my husband's shop. He then went in back and retrieved my computer. A small point in Ed's favor is that he carried my computer out to my car for me and he told me what he thought was wrong with it. I told him I had tried every way I could think of to reach him but he hadn't responded. I said it had been almost two weeks and I was afraid I would never get my computer back. Ed claimed he had been having trouble with his phone. Sure, for almost two weeks??? That didn't explain why Ed hadn't brought the computer back when he said he would, hadn't called me, responded to my email or to my note outside the shop. I heard through a reliable source that Ed is having personal troubles. That might explain why a formerly reliable guy with great online ratings has become flaky, inconsiderate and unreliable. I hope he get his act together or his business will go down the drain. read more

I am so very impressed with Tony and Ed. I called in the am and had my computer back by 2:00. It was a serious Windows 8 program issue. Before I went to their office I called a few other vendors. They did not come across as the least bit caring on the phone. Love these guys! Genuine and professional. read more

Computer Wizard is owned and operated by Ed. got him from the phone book and he really is awesome!! My laptop crashed and he recovered all my pics and Itunes library. After some trouble shooting he fixed my laptop and even gave a refund on some hardware that wasn't used (which I gave anyway cause he spent so much time on my pc) After it was all said and done he even gave advice over the phone and my pc was running smooth in no time. The most honest computer repairman I've had the honor of using, and honesty goes a long way when it comes to working on my computer. I was afraid I was going to go somewhere and get gouged and charged for every minute they even looked at my computer, but Ed is fair and hard working and a nice guy, to boot. If there were zero stars I would have opted for that. We discussed in detail my needs and the back up systems to be used for my situation, and agreed on a time and date. We agreed to a 1pm appt. and I was at home between 12:30 to 2:30 and nothing. No show, no call, nothing. I am sorry, I will not "chase" after services promised to me. All I wanted was help retrieving my Mother's travel photos.
