This store opens at 10:00am. We got there around that time and there were 2 people ahead of us. They put us on the waiting list and told us that there was one person ahead of us. This was the worst cystomer experience I have ever experienced. Multiome employees were rude, short, and aggressive. They played on their phones and refused to be helpful, all while holding a conversation. The cherry on top was two employees body shaming another one of their coworkers in front of us. They would add on charges and not even tell me, thank god I double checked because it was true sneaky salesmanship. My wife and I went to Verizon wireless yesterday in walnut creek to buy a new phone....our service was terrible, we were there for 3 1/2 hours , while two employees fumbled thru the process of setting up new phone . They did not know how to apply any discounts nor savings to my existing business account , I've had for 25 years, and either would not preform the process of backing out the plans that were to expensive for our budget, or didn't know the proper way to start the process over , and give us a plan that works with our budget...they charge for syncing phones now, which took an hour, amd [[HIGHLIGHT]]before the process was over, the manager took to another customer without finishing our phone transfer.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Now we are stuck with a plan that added 75 a month , all because these two could not do there job. read more

The associates at Verizon in general, don't seem to be trained. There is a disconnect everywhere at Verizon (online or in-store). Nobody at Verizon knows their product well enough. I came here recently to migrate my cellular service to Verizon from another provider and upgrade to a newer phone. That went ok I thought, but also got upsold on their internet services. So, I decided to test the internet services within the 30-day trial period offered by Verizon, brought the internet gateway box home, and activated the service a few days later. Lo and behold, for some bizarre reason, that *completely* disrupted the cellular service on the Verizon phone, so much so that the cellular service was no longer working. I was forced to spend 6 hrs on a weekend debugging the issue (when I had FAR more important things to get to). Turns out, the people at the store who configured the phone, and sent me off with the internet gateway box did not know that while the phone had a physical SIM, the eSIM would also be activated when the wifi access gets set up on the phone. That would break the cellular service momentarily. This is something that none of the associates (in-store or online) were aware of. To the associates - you call yourself a customer service agent and you literally sell 2 or 3 services day in, day out. How do you not know something as fundamental as that?? And how Verizon would not properly train their people on basic things is also for the books. Be prepared to waste your time figuring basic issues out and doing the associates' jobs if you are with Verizon. Wait till a lawsuit materializes against Verizon momentarily, with this kind of service. Yet another pathetic business in the telecom and internet space. read more

It felt like they were upset because the activation wasn't done in-store, and they couldn't get their commission. Isn't that what the $35 activation fee is for? As someone who has worked for other carriers, I know firsthand that you never charge the customer out-of-pocket for setting up a phone. That's the whole point of activation fees being charged on the bill--it covers these services. This store's approach felt like a complete money grab and left me very disappointed. Over the past 10 years, I've visited the WALNUT CREEK Verizon store a handful of times . . . and every single time has been a frustrating DISAPPOINTMENT. Their staff seem utterly disinterested (putting it nicely) to help customers. The last time I visited the WALNUT CREEK ("WC")Verizon was when my cell phone died (literally). I needed a new phone and WC is unfortunately my closest store. Because I need a pen (for my disability), my eyes were set on the Samsung S24 Ultra. The WALNUT CREEK location had only one (1) color of the S24 Ultra on the floor, and they didn't even know which color it was (I had to educate them with online images). Worse yet, the one color they had was strapped down so taut to the counter that I couldn't see what it looked like (dark? light? shiny? matte?). Who knows? In this day of smash n' grab crime, I don't blame Verizon for its asset protection ... but they also need to serve their customers who want to buy their phones (e.g. unlock a long cord). Anyway, not even the store manager had an answer on how I could see color. Using my own noodle, I pulled out a small mirror from my purse to see the color (still hard to tell but better than nothing). After accepting that I was going to have to spend $1,200 on a new cell without even being able to see all 4 colors, I said I'd buy one. What was I told? "Oh, we don't have it in stock so you'll have to wait for it to be mailed to you." That was obviously not a workable solution (since my current cell had died). I also didn't want my new $1,200 toy rattling around and falling in the back of a delivery truck on its way to me. For the last time, I left the WALNUT CREEK Verizon store and drove right over to the Pleasant Hill Verizon (open much later) ... where I was promptly helped by knowledgeable employees who actually care about making their customers happy. Fyi, the female Pleasant Hill store manager is being relocated to manage the Walnut Creek Verizon store. With the decade of poor service I've received from the WALNUT CREEK Verizon location (am apparently not the only one who has experienced it), if anyone can help the Walnut Creek's store customer service rebound, it will be the former female store manager of the Pleasant Hill Verizon location. Lazy customer service for sure. Stopped in because I bought AirPods online that were faulty. Went in 3 weeks after purchase to be turned away at their 2 week warranty exchange limit. They sent me to Apple to do a swap... (where I have to wait a week to get an appt) and then come to find out, they definitely COULD HAVE done their 1 year manufacturer warranty swap for the pods right then and there. They failed to tell me that there was an option past the 2 weeks... she even went to her manager to "ask for a way". There was no other customers in the store too. Just wow! Make it harder for everyone like Covid isn't tough enough getting places. My friend who works for Verizon told me after I left that you are allowed to use the 1yr manufacturers warranty at the Verizon store without having to take an extra trip to Apple everyone! Just switched over from AT&T tonight. I came in pretty late - not long before closing. I opted for starting a business plan, which requires some documentation and jumping through hoops to get approved. There ended up being some complications with my application that ended up taking quite some time dealing with the credit approval people and Joe (who was helping me) hung in there like a champ. He ended up having to stay 90 minutes past closing and the whole time he was nothing but cheerful and helpful! I felt so bad for him! This team is paid to show up and take a nap. This is the worst customer service I've experienced in a long time today. I was greeted by a rude door person and left to wait beyond what's acceptable. I expect that from Verizon. When I finally got called to shop options, the employee was discourteous, full of anxiety and not knowledgeable at all. My wife and I came to the store to move her phone from AT&T and my phone from a company contract with Verizon to a personal plan. We asked for autopay to save $20 per month but they forgot put it into account. We already had some of the bonus TV channels that Verizon offers, which seemed to leave them quite confused. Although I told them that we already had, from Comcast, the Max portion of the Netflix/Max with ads bonus and our existing Netflix account was without ads, they added that "bonus" (at $10 per month) anyway. Even after 4 trips to the store (and many hours), 4 different clerks could not get Disney to work. Later, when I called Verizon directly, the technician told me that with Max being free from Comcast, we were paying too much and should drop the Verizon Netflix/Max bonus. Furthermore, the technician coordinated with Disney to get Disney/Hulu working. Bottom line, the store people appear to lack sufficient training to do more than sell and activate phones. If I have future problems with Verizon, I will not return to that store. read more

Very impressed with the service from James in this Walnut Creek location. We walked in on Saturday night because my husband was due for a phone and plan upgrade. There was a bit of a wait but nothing compared to the Berkeley location where my husband can never get in because it's such a hub for student clientele. After reviewing his plan, James made some good suggestions. My husband switched from Samsung to an Apple based on what he needed combined with the promotion being offered. James was very good about giving us exact numbers of what different options would cost. Then when my husband made his choice James reviewed all the details again even though by this time it was past closing time. My husband ended up getting a good deal on his new phone, updating his plan, getting an unlimited hot spot which he needed for work and a Ipad at an excellent price (which I happily will be taking off his hands). But they didn't have the appt in their store calendar and refused to serve us, stating that the printout confirming the appt at that store on that date and at that time was meaningless.
