Val took care of my need to replace my old phone with professionalism, expertise, and utter care and kindness. She made sure I had the best value for my buck. I will never forget Val's hospitality as she gave me peace of mind in the midst of my stress over having to change a phone not to mention her utter patience in meticulously transferring over all my data from one phone to the other which easily took a couple of hours because I had too much info and apps on my old phone. Val also made sure I had the best screen protection by offering me a sturdy case with lifetime warranty as well as installed for me a guaranteed First-Defense nano-glass screen protector. I cannot have enough praises for Val and this Verizon store. I am honored to give this store its first Yelp review. So I called to ask about switching over from a different provider to Verizon. I was asking questions in regard to the process, pricing for adding a line for a business, as well as a tablet. The unknowledgeable and improperly trained staff member who answered the phone when I called hung up when I asked for clarification on whether or not iPads needed a service line as well. She didn't say her name when she answered. When I asked at first she said no it wasn't required, then said yes for $20 a month I would have the data, then she said it wasn't required. That left me confused and then she hung up and no one answered when I called back. Who does that!? Does corporate know their brand is being represented this way? Who trained this employee? Management can check who was working on 5/26/23 at 5:16pm then proceed to properly train her. Employees like this are the reason why businesses lose money. Buyer Beware-I should have read the reviews here, on Yelp, and at BBB about Russell Cellular stores before doing business with them. Unfortunately I didn't. I write this in hope to prevent this situation from happening to you. My experience began with Verizon sending me text messages that I could upgrade my devices for being a loyal customer for years. I went to the Verizon Wireless Russell Cellular store where I dealt with Jeremy and Paul on two separate occasions. They helped me upgrade my 4 devices and I also received a promotional Ipad for 10.00 a month. I paid Russell Cellular 200.00 for their Startup for Success service plus all the taxes on the 5 devices which came close to 600.00 before I left the store that day with activated devices. My following month's bill was exceptionally high. When I went to review the bill to see what the discrepancy was I noticed that Verizon charged me an additional 175.00 for activation. I called Verizon to inquire about this charge and explained that I already paid Russell Cellular 200.00 for their Startup to Success service. Verizon Corporate informed me that their charge to activate new phones on the Verizon Network is 35.00 per device and the 40.00 per device charge by the Russell Cellular store was the store's own charge which did not include Verizon's activation fee. Verizon Corporate told me that I needed to contact the store to discuss the situation and they would follow up with me. Upon contacting Jeremy it was THEN that Jeremy explained to me that their 200.00 charge was for 'handling the 5 devices' and did NOT include activation. Prior to upgrading the devices Jeremy had written down and explained all the charges on a Verizon worksheet. NEVER did he explain nor write down that their Start Up for Success service was strictly a 'handling device charge'. I took the written down information home to review and discuss with my husband. I contacted Jeremy to set up an appt. to upgrade our devices. He was unavailable but set up an appt, with Paul, the store manager. Paul went over all of the information again while upgrading the devices. He also did NOT inform me that their Start Up For Success service was strictly a 'handling device charge'. So when I received my Verizon bill that had an additional 175.00 charge for activating 5 devices, I was confused which led me to call Verizon and now post this review. Jeremy does not feel as what he and Paul did was deceptive in the least. On two separate occasions, they did NOT inform me when getting devices through them that their Start Up For Success service did NOT include the Verizon activation and that I would see a separate 175.00 activation charge the following month. I consider this a gross misrepresentation of fees in the least or at worst a deceptive trade practice. Verizon Corporate followed up with me the following day. They were very apologetic and explained to me that this is a common complaint about the Russell Cellular stores. While they are an authorized Verizon dealer, they are separately owned and operated under Russell Cellular. Verizon Corporate righted all Russell Cellular's wrongs for me. Do not make the mistake I did and do business with Russell Cellular who is strictly an 'authorized dealer' for Verizon and not part of Verizon Corporate. Their explanations are vague and their charges are deceptive. Research and find a Verizon Corporate store in your area or work with Verizon Corporate over the phone or online. They are upfront, honest, and care about their customers. read more

First off, yelp says the store closes at 6:00 PM on a Sunday. Apparently, it actually closes at 5. The lady working there confirmed this when I entered at around 4:30. I was there to buy a new phone, thinking that I had an hour and a half to do so. The lady also confirmed that half an hour would not be enough time to buy a new phone. Disappointed, I left and went back to my car to look at what other Verizon stores are open. I found that all the other stores close at 5 as well, so I decided to go back in and at least look at my options for a new phone. Then, I would come back on the next day that I am off to actually buy the phone. I tried to enter at 4:38PM. THE DOOR WAS LOCKED!!! I knew the lady was in the back as this is where she came from before. I knocked on the door. No answer. I knew she was just ignoring me because she had JUST said they were closing at 5PM. So, I will not be getting a new phone today. But when I do, rest assured it will NOT be coming from this store. read more

Been with Verizon for over 10+ years, by far the best in person experience I've had since had them as a carrier. Virgil and the store manager went above and beyond even though I showed up an hour before closing! Stayed professional, patient and helpful through the whole time, even after my backup and transfer was going to take 35-45 minutes. I appreciate these guys! Thank you! read more

Yesterday I went into this Verizon retailer to pay off my iPhone and get a new cellular telephone. My other phone had broken and I wanted to pay it off which everybody knows once you pay off the phone you were relieved from that contract and able to get a new phone I was helped by Elizabeth who Was less than competent. She had no knowledge of Verizon, it's policies, procedures, or even Apple products in general. She was an accurate about charging ports, prices, and plans. After I was told by Elizabeth that I had to pay $262 to get out of my plan and upgrade my phone and did so she then turned around and told me that I could not upgrade my phone and I would not be able to receive a new phone. She told me that after I already paid off my phone knowing my phone was broken and of course there are no refunds. I asked for a receipt For proof of payment and she said she emailed it to me although I reminded her that I had to have a receipt because I don't have a phone so I cannot access my email. She was completely inaccurate on the information given which highly upset me as it would anybody being left out the phone after paying $300 to upgrade. Everyone knows once you pay off your phone you can upgrade but she was so inaccurate and so ignorant on Verizon and their procedures that she told me that I would have to leave the store without a phone after paying off my phone. I then went down the street to another Verizon location on Bandera and 1604 where a competent and amazing manager helped me. I was able to get the iPhone 12 without any issues, any problems, any complaints, or problems. My plan was completely clear and free as it should be after just paying $300 and paying off my other phone so there was no issues at all getting a new phone. I have no idea why she told me this information or why she wouldn't let me get the phone that her an accurate see and incompetence highly upset me. read more

Absolutely do not go to this store if you want to any type of business with Verizon. They are just a retailer....are not a official Verizon flag ship store. Wish I would have known that before hand. They charged us a $40 per phone..set up fee...when they literally just handed us a iPhone 8 box. Absolutely no "set up" or preparation done to the phones what so ever. The main point is...they didn't tell us about the set up fee...they said it was just the taxes on the phone...acted real shady about the transaction..not being honest in what all the charges are. Didn't show me a receipt or break down of the fees and still didn't send me a line by line receipt. Just absolute shady dishonest business practices....then 4 days later we go into the store to return the phones..Verizon is offering a better deal for the same phones online...and even the sales guy at this Huebner store told us on the day purchasing the phones, if there is a better deal in the next 30 days they could work with us to get us the better deal....they told us flat out...NO...that they can not match any offers when we came in today to return them. And the icing on the cake...$75 dollars per phone restocking fee...said it's because they had to return it back to apple.....even though one of the phones was already in stock in their inventory....that phone was not specially ordered for me.....the second iPhone 8 was ordered for us...so I could understand that fee...but not for both. Avoid this store at all costs...just go online for Verizon or go to a corporate store. Just google locations. Cost me $150 bucks for absolutely nothing. TERRIBLE BUSINESS read more

I was in San Antonio on Easter Sunday. I tried coming by to purchase a charger, however you were closed. That is understandable. So, the next morning, I showed up at 10:00am, as your sign said that is when you open. And also another lady and her child were there as well. At about 10:15am, no employees had shown up yet to open the store. The lady and I were both baffled as to what was going on. You could tell the store was not closed for good, as there was merchandise on display in the store, and there were some lights on inside. Both the lady and I decided to go elsewhere. I ended up going to a store at Ingram Park Mall. I contacted Verizon on Twitter and they assured me that the store was still open for business, but they had no clue as to why the store was not opened when it should have been. So, that tells me there that the customer service is severely lacking. Needless to say, if I'm in San Antonio and need to go to a Verizon store again, I will be avoiding this one. read more
