Hello, Our baby was…read moreborn during the peak of Covid time, 2020 with very severe cleft palace. From the very beginning, Dr Yue of Canaan Dental had been with our child when he was 2-3 weeks after birth! She and Dr. Costa Melinda had mapped out a treatment plan to help our baby with the wearing the Nasoalveolar Molding (NAM) We were worried and skeptical at first but after just 1-2 weeks we sincerely trust in the process and keep up with the treatment. Our little baby needed to see Dr. Yue every week so she could adjust NAM, monitor the progress and advise us what to do next. My child had 2 surgeries when he was 6, then 9 months old and... now he is a healthy, happy, strong and talkative 5 years old boy! :) Words alone cannot describe our gratitude to Dr Yue and all Canaan Dental staffs who had supported and guided us during our most difficult times as parents. Our dentist had recommended him and my sister was his patient when she was a teenager. Dr. Lee was nothing short of wonderful. He was always pleasant to be around and greeted everyone who walked into the office. His staff was attentive and showed a lot of care during all of our appointments. I don't know if they still do raffles at the office but during the 3 years my daughter had treatment they did. She won movie tickets one time. Towards the end of my daughter's treatment Dr. Sunwoo was in the process of taking over for Dr. Lee. We had the pleasure of having him oversee the last couple of appointments my daughter had. He was very personable and kind. Dr. Lee has since retired but left the practice he started in good hands. I recommend Dr. Sunwoo to friends and family.

This is an update that is some time overdue that I meant to post earlier so no other potential…read morepatients will have to experience similar things to what I have exp My time here is done. I am done with being taken advantage of and not receiving the proper treatment. What made me change my rating and review of this place? My crown, which I've only had for almost 4 years, has fallen off TWO times within six months. When it fell out the 2nd time, not only did Dr. A create a hole in my crown while she was cleaning it, but it also fell out again two days later after she "temporarily cemented" back on again. Each time it fell out, I was expected to pay for cementing it on again. If the crown was cemented on property in the first place, it should not be falling out. Crowns are supposed to last for MANY years, and for a crown to fall out within 4 years is ridiculous. I also had to wait 1.5 weeks to get an appointment after my crown fell off the 2nd time. You would think that for an emergency like this, they would accommodate a time that works for the patient ASAP to fix the problem. Each time my crown has fallen out, Dr. A would accuse me for eating sticky and/or hard foods and grinding my teeth. Both are not true-- I know my diet, and as for the grinding, my partner and I would know that that were the case. When I come in for cleanings, I would also get accused for chewing on pencils (excuse me? I have NEVER chewed on pencils or pens before). Every time I come in, I experience pain, discomfort, and accusations. The dentist and whoever the assistant happens to be in the time being (she has a high turnover for assistants) are not very compassionate people-- they don't prioritize how their patients are feeling. They never check with me if I'm feeling okay or anything. The crown situation is the last straw for me, and I feel like now I can be completely honest right now since I am now leaving and taking my business elsewhere. The best part of this business is the kind, responsive secretary, Veronica. *Note: I am now with a new dentist for 2 or so years now, and the new crown that I got has never fallen out since. I also have not experienced any of the discomfort that I thought was normal to have when I was with Argonaut Dental.

After narrowing it down based on ratings, number of reviews, review quality, office size, and hours, I was left with three options. I chose Orchard, and I made the right choice. This place has great ratings, which is pretty rare for medical offices for some reason unless it's a new Yelp page or one that people just haven't bothered reviewing. It's kind of like how fast-food restaurants and clubs always seem to have low ratings for some reason. Anyway, the reviews here are great too. If there are any bad reviews, you kind of have to use your judgment to figure out whether it's a one-off situation or just an unreasonable customer. This isn't one of those huge offices with a bunch of chairs lined up like the DMV, where they're just churning patients through like an assembly line. I hate those places because they always overbook, and I end up waiting forever for an appointment. Even when I show up on time, I still have to wait a long time before being seen. I work late on weekdays and can't really take time off during the day. On weekends, I usually catch up on sleep and don't want to spend my day off running errands. They're not always available on Tuesdays either, which can mean an even longer wait for appointments. That's why the fact that they're open until 7 PM on Tuesdays is a huge plus for me. As you can tell from the pictures, the office is very clean, modern, and well-equipped. The staff has always been friendly, and they've been very understanding about my tardiness and occasional cancellations to the point where I feel like they should hate me, but they definitely don't act like it. They also seem to have the latest and greatest equipment... I think. I'm mostly judging that based on how much more advanced their machines looked compared to every other dental office I've been to. They wanted my full medical history of which in complied to do using a computer program on an iPad. After going through at least 15 screens answering a multitude of questions would not let me submit. I asked if I could just fill out a paper copy as the time was already past the appointment time. I was told no by the office assistant that the information had to be added into the computer. The office assistant then helped me by inputing the information herself and it still did not allow her to submit. She continued with me for another 40 minutes trying to get it to submit insisting they needed the information this way. I am very senior and exhausted and I wasn't sure if the computer even took the input. I saw the dentist briefly. I told her the problem with my teeth and she wanted photographic pictures. A dental assistant took another 45 minutes trying to get these pictures. By this time, the office visit turned into 2 hours. I was so exhausted by this, that I left the office never wanting to return because the staff appeared incompetent. They wanted me to come back for teeth/bite impressions. Never did I get a cost for this or a plan as to what could be done. Further to this, I never officially received a recommendation and at end of April I left a voicemail but never got a return call. I tried again lately and asked if I could get any recommendations from my visit. It was pulling teeth to get anything from the office assistant. I really appreciated that he gave me options and made me feel like I had a say in my treatment. His knowledge and attention to detail made me feel confident moving forward. At my next appointment, the assistant was very gentle placing my Invisalign attachments and explained every step as she went. She also walked me through how to properly care for my trays and what to do if any issues come up. Overall, I've been very happy with my experience so far.
