They told me it would take two weeks, but they finished it in a little over a week. The repair was great except that my left rear blinker didn't work when I got the car back. I took the car in a few days later and they fixed it for me in about 5 minutes. I don't use body shops much, but their prices seemed in line with most other places. I had to have my rear left bumper replaced and the frame was slightly disfigured under the bumper. Also, the whole taillight probably had to be replaced. The repair was slightly under 2k in sum.

I pulled into the closest auto place I could find to find out that it was a body shop. They referred me to Central Automotive and said they would be able to take care of me. I got out of my car at Central Automotive and the guy working there just blankly stared at me. I told him what just happened and still no response. I said, "Uh, am I in the right spot?" He finally said yes and that they would take a look at it. He had his co-worker take it for a spin around the block and sure enough, it was still smoking. They looked under the hood and the said the transmission fluid cap (or something like that) was loose. He also mentioned that my tires were bad. They put my car on the lift to take a look at it and said they would call me when they had done a diagnosis. He called me back to let me know that I had a couple oil leaks that he could repair. His quote was $651.18 if he didn't have to take the engine out. If he did have to take the engine out, it would be $1,331.18, but he wouldn't know if he had to take it out until he started working on it... ARE YOU F*CKING KIDDING ME???? I went back there to pick up my car and told him my bf was going to take a look at it. He never attempted to show me what was wrong on my car. I ended up taking my car to a different place to get a quote and it was THREE TIMES LOWER than the $651 quote. The new place also told me it was not imperative that I get it fixed right away. I have been driving my car for 2 days since it started smoking (and I haven't gotten it repaired yet) and it hasn't started smoking since they tightened the cap. I'm guessing that the loose cap caused the smoke and nothing more had to be done. I am a female that does not know too much about cars, but I know when someone is trying to rip me off and take advantage of me. I will NEVER go back here. After drying, the repair is nearly invisible and any future cracking was stopped dead in its tracks. The entire repair only took 20 minutes! Please don't make the same horrible, costly ($692.47) mistake I did or at least read below and decide for yourself!! I contacted Mr. Adrian Carranza, owner of California Glass and Tint, to discuss windshield chip repair and agreed to tentatively schedule a service call with him for Saturday, 6/4/16, at 3:00pm. Being conscientious of not wasting his time or mine, I advised that I wanted to first send him some pictures of my slight, rather unnoticeable windshield chip before confirming the appointment so that he could initially assess the damage and advise on his level of confidence to successfully make the repair. After reviewing the pics, Mr. Carranza called me back and said, "I looked at your pics and no problem, that's a real easy fix, won't take me 15 minutes to do it." He arrived promptly at 3:00pm and upon approaching my windshield, I asked him to please inspect the chip again in person to confirm his prior evaluation of the damage. He looked at the chip from several angles and then said, "yep, looks just like the pics, no problem." I then casually asked, "So how long have you been fixing windshields?" to which he replied "Over 10 years." "Sounds good" I said, taking a few steps back and then remaining silent. I immediately became very uneasy as he seemed to be drilling and then clamping very aggressively for such a "real easy fix". Just as I was about to say something my worst fear became a reality. Adrian had just caused my "no problem" chip to become a 12-inch horizontal crack in my now ruined windshield. He repeatedly apologized and then we called our insurance companies. We were both advised to call back on Monday and file a claim with his Insurance. Adrian asked if I preferred to go through my insurance company with him paying me cash for my deductible or if I was okay with going through the claim filing process of having his insurance pay for a new one. Not wanting him to have to pay out of pocket, I agreed in good faith to work with his insurance to handle the claim. He gave me the contact information for his local State Farm Agent, Raphael (office phone # 619-569-2220, press #2 for his extension) and we both agreed to get the claim filed and the ball rolling on Monday. He assured me not to worry as it would all be taken care of and then we parted ways. On Monday morning Adrian called me advising that he had contacted State Farm to accept responsibility for the accident so I could just call their claims department directly instead. I spoke with Claims Processing Agent Justin Johnson (direct phone # 480-636-3207) and had no trouble getting the claim filed. I was assigned the State Farm Claim #55893J511 and also provided the contact information for my Claims Manager, Cory (phone # 855-856-3381 ext. 4806363220) On Tuesday afternoon Adrian called and completely blindsided me, sarcastically stating that he was no longer accepting any responsibility for the damages and "claiming" that his insurance company told him to not have any further contact with me and as far as he was concerned I was all on my own to pay for the windshield to be replaced. Being very likely that Adrian will say I am lying and/or try to refute my review of his business, I feel it's important that I share these indisputable pieces of information. I would be quite pleased to see Mr. Carranza attempt to "explain" and/or contradict the following FACTS: After breaking my windshield, Adrian offered that he should have warned me that further damage could result from the repair attempt and admitted that he did not indicate that potential outcome in any way prior to working on the chip. He also did not advise me of, present me with, discuss/explain or have me sign anything related to what's known as a "PDR"-(Pre-existing Damage Report). According to the Bureau of Automotive Repair, he is required to obtain his customer's signature on a PDR prior to performing any work on their vehicle. FACT #1: HE DOES NOT HAVE A PDR WITH MY SIGNATURE ON IT. FACT #2: I was given confirmation by his State Farm Insurance provider on 6/8/16 that Adrian Carranza did not even have damage liability insurance on his policy! I'm sure Adrian will deny saying or offering to pay for my insurance deductible or that he called State Farm to assume responsibility for the damage, but if that were true then why did he FACT#3: provide me with his local State Farm Agent Raphael's contact information? How would I have been able to proceed with State Farm claims agent Justin Johnson and receive FACT#4: State Farm damage claim #55893J511 and then be assigned the claims case manager Cory? How could I possibly have accomplished all of those things if Adrian had never assumed any responsibility, provided me with his insurance information or aided the claim filing process in any way?!?

He went out of his way to schedule me for 'The Crystal Clear' all-inclusive package on New Year's Eve. It even started raining and he didn't leave until the job was finished. We have a 1999 car that we really love so much that it's like a part of the family. As one would…read moreexpect, over the years we have had to perform routine maintenance such as, break jobs, fan belt replacements, filter servicing, tire rotation/replacement, tune-ups and some cosmetics. Usually these were spread out over time, and we could squeeze the costs into our budget; that was up until a couple of months ago when we had a number of problems that occurred all at once. We brought the car into a shop right around the corner from our house in Lemon Grove, and after a few days (and a few hundred dollars) in that shop, we got the car back only to have the car break down again. When we brought it back to that shop, they said that they had misdiagnosed the problem, and that we would have to spend another $800 to get it fixed! We were stunned, and when one of our friends said to take it to Alle Auto Repair in National City, we decided to give them a try...And we were glad we did! Alle accepted the car, and the office manager gave us a ride back home. The problem with the car was difficult to figure out, the local shop had (needlessly) replaced the fuel regulator for $180, then, when that did not solve the problem, they recommended tp do a complete head/valve jobs, which would have run another $800. So I was worried about what Alle's shop would determine. The mechanics at Alle's shop carefully analyzed this illusive (the symptoms would only occur when the car had been driven for a while) problem, and they told me to come back the next day, to hear their recommendations. They used a state-of-the- art diagnostic device to systematically isolate the problem, then they strategically placed a pressure gauge on the suspect part and observed a pressure fluctuation which confirmed that the fuel pump, though nominally functioning was failing under a certain set of operating conditions. As a chemical engineer, I was very impressed by the scientific approach they used with the electronic diagnostic device and the rigorous follow through which allowed me to confidently approve their $250 estimate for a replacement fuel pump, and we had the car back the next day.. Problem gone! Hands down the best shop for auto repair I have encountered 5 Stars For Sure!!
